Originally scheduled for Cuban ports, Insignia had to change its itinerary. We were offered a big discount to sail to the Western Caribbean. Cozumel, Roatan, Belize and Costa Maya were substituted. None of these ports was very interesting. Because of the change each port of call was mobbed with 3 or 4 mega ships already docked. In two ports we had to tender. We chose to stay onboard several ...

We love Oceania cruise line! The ship is small & has excellent rooms & decor. We took friends who had never gone on a cruise before and they could not believe the attention given to every detail. The art work, grand staircase with it chandler , the table ware etc. Our cabins were top notch. The bed was so comfortable that we were tempted to purchase one! Our stewards keep our linens, towels & room ...

We decided to try Oceania for the raved about food. Being in the food industry & foodies we thought we'd try them out. Two days before the cruise, I got a e-mail asking if we'd upgrade from an interior cabin to a balcony cabin for $200pp. Of course I said yes. Getting on board was quick & easy as there's only about 1200 pax, as compared to 3000+ pax on larger ships. We still waited until 2:30 to ...

We chose the cruise because of the addition of Cuba to the itinerary. The cruise, ship, crew, and service were exceptional. Our focus was on the itinerary, so we were out most of the time. Chose late dining to maximize tour opportunities. Specialty restaurants were exceptional. Happy hour offerings were inviting. Perhaps add more to accommodate both early and late diners. Drink package is ...

After a wonderful Baltic cruise on Marina last summer we decided to take a Western Caribbean cruise. The cruise did not start auspiciously as boarding was delayed several hours due to a Coast Guard full ship inspection. Additionally, while it was a beautiful day there were 25-30 mph winds which made spending time on deck a challenge. The crew did yeoman work to get everyone and everything on ...

We have taken 34 cruises including Regent, Sea Dream Yacht Club and many other fine Cruise Lines. We have also been on Oceania prior to this cruise. We booked Concierge Level A2 so we would get some of the "goodies" like priority luggage delivery. The embarkation process was delayed until 2:00PM due to a Coast Guard inspection because of illness on the prior cruise. Our luggage did not get to ...

Oceania Riviera, 20161215 to 20161222 western Caribbean. This was our first Oceania cruise. We did not care too much about the itinerary, we came for the food, and we were not disappointed. Here is a very brief rating, by various aspects. Food:,excellent. Strangely enough, we rank the restaurants as follows: Jacques, Toscana, Red Ginger, MDR, the buffet restaurant, and the Polo Grill a ...

We chose Oceania for the timing of the cruise. As we sailed and completed our cruise on 12/22 just before Christmas. First the ship: The Riviera is a beautiful ship. Well appointed public areas. Nice pool deck and fitness center. If you want a rock climbing wall or are traveling with kids, Oceania is not for you. Cabin: We had a veranda cabin. We found it well appointed and spacious, with ...

Many cruises on other lines....first cruise on Oceania. And it will be the last. The good: very good food, a beautiful ship and pleasant dining room staff. The bad: long and disorganized embarkation and disembarkation, l-o-n-g wait for a stateroom, no attendant even showed up the first night until late evening to check on us, surly and aloof support staff...especially guest relations, the ...

An Exercise in Elegance

We went on a seven night cruise aboard the Riviera stopping in Key West, Trujillo (Honduras), Belize City (Belize), and Cozumel (Mexico). This was our first cruise ever (as a child I had once done an Atlantic crossing, but this was back in the 1970s), and we kind of splurged, celebrating my wife's speedy recovery from intensive surgery. We had an Oceania Suite, with over 1,000 square feet. The ...
