Trip of a lifetime

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

The cabin, ports, dining and service delivered by Oceania were superb, providing us with a wonderful 12 day cruise that created the trip of a lifetime. We are experienced and frequent overseas travellers, but had always been hesitant about the cruise experience, due to concerns about the quality of meals, and the "tour bus" experience. But from the moment you walk on to Riviera and see the ...

We just concluded Oceania's cruise from Venice to Athens on the "Riviera". Among over 1,000 passengers were only 5-6 young ones; the rest were senior citizens in their '70s. There were no poolside (or anywhere else) activities, nothing happening after dinner other than listening to old folks talking about the menu or their retirement. Awfully dull. The menu at the ship's restaurants was fine if ...

Great cruise but a little disappointed with the staff and the boutiques.

We found the staff very hard working and dedicated but where are they?? We think Riviera has cut staff and we have never seen so many staff cry or be called out by the heads of each of the restaurants. Lots of bullies on this ship. We saw one young girl with at least 8 tables in the buffet to look after. That's getting coffee, drinks, cleaning the table, taking the dishes to the kitchen, ...

Another "Home Run" cruise on Oceania

Doesn't matter which ship you take on Oceania; some people prefer the larger (1250 passengers), other the smaller (650 passengers), but always first class service and food. None of this comes inexpensively, so what's to complain about? There were a lot of families with kids on this cruise. Whoooops, not much for kids to do on Oceania. Someone gave them bad advice to take this line, it is ...

We celebrated our Anniversary on this wonderful cruise from Venice to Barcelona with stops in 10 ports and 7 countries. Oceania provided us excellent gourmet food with their specialty restaurants as well as the Terrace restaurant and the Waves Grill which offers smoothies and milkshakes. We arrived late afternoon on the day we embarked. It was too late for lunch and too early for dinner and we ...

Worst food and service at sea!

1. The state room was nicely appointed and our state room attendant was very good. 2. We did not participate in any of the ship board activities so can not comment on entertainment. 3. We were satisfied with the quality of all excursions. 4. We were very displeased with the concierge service. The concierge was not helpful at all. We felt that we paid for a service that was not really ...

Ship not up to past standards

I chose this cruise based on the itinerary as well as my past experience with the Marina about 3 years ago on a Baltic Cruise which was beyond fabulous. I highly recommended this cruise to my friends and 3 of them accompanied us on this trip. One also has booked the Owners Suite in December on one of the first all Cuba cruises on Oceania. I had raved about the food and service on Oceania. I ...

This was our first Oceania cruise and the Riviera certainly met our expectations. Embarkation was smooth and quick. Our cabin was ready shortly after we boarded and the luggage appeared right afterwards. Dining was superb. The Terrace Cafe buffet bettered other ships' main dining room. We tried each of the specialty restaurants and the Grand Dining Room (twice). Every offering was excellent. ...

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. We have sailed many times in the Caribbean and have been on one river cruise with Viking before taking this cruise. This cruise on the Riviera was by far the best cruise we have ever taken. The ship was wonderful Service was excellent!!!! The original itinerary was changed slightly due to the G7 Summit and the Grand Prix in Monte Carlo. The changes did ...

Our first cruise exceeded expectations

We found an ad in Travel & Leisure about this Mediterranean cruise on Oceania's Riviera. This was our first cruise, and what a delight it turned out to be! The ship is relatively new, and all public and private areas were spotless and tastefully elegant. The Riviera is a mid-size ship and caters to people who want comfort, an interesting itinerary, and are not so interested in evening shows and ...
