The cabin, ports, dining and service delivered by Oceania were superb, providing us with a wonderful 12 day cruise that created the trip of a lifetime.
We are experienced and frequent overseas travellers, but had always been hesitant about the cruise experience, due to concerns about the quality of meals, and the "tour bus" experience.

We just concluded Oceania's cruise from Venice to Athens on the "Riviera". Among over 1,000 passengers were only 5-6 young ones; the rest were senior citizens in their '70s. There were no poolside (or anywhere else) activities, nothing happening after dinner other than listening to old folks talking about the menu or their retirement. Awfully dull.

We found the staff very hard working and dedicated but where are they?? We think Riviera has cut staff and we have never seen so many staff cry or be called out by the heads of each of the restaurants. Lots of bullies on this ship. Doesn't matter which ship you take on Oceania; some people prefer the larger (1250 passengers), other the smaller (650 passengers), but always first class service and food. None of this comes inexpensively, so what's to complain about?

We celebrated our Anniversary on this wonderful cruise from Venice to Barcelona with stops in 10 ports and 7 countries. I chose this cruise based on the itinerary as well as my past experience with the Marina about 3 years ago on a Baltic Cruise which was beyond fabulous. This was our first Oceania cruise and the Riviera certainly met our expectations. Embarkation was smooth and quick. Our cabin was ready shortly after we boarded and the luggage appeared right afterwards.
