Somewhat of a Letdown

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Regatta

Chose for itinerary and reputation for dining. Previous cruise on Nautica had been great. Lack of timely service in grand dining room appeared to be due to a shortage of staff. Food was not always served timely or warm. Waves had good selection and nice assortment of food and dinner themes. Room was kept clean and neat with ice and water. Embarkation and debarkation were well handled. Much of ...

Only a Couple of Glitches on an Otherwise Lovely Cruise

The Regatta is a beautiful, elegant ship. It was a wonderful and relaxing cruise. We took a 10 day cruise from Vancouver to Alaska to San Francisco. It was our first time on Oceania but we have hundreds of cruise days under our belt from other ships so have a good idea of what to expect. The food in the main dining room was the best cruise food we have ever tasted, wonderfully prepared and ...

Mid- luxury on small ship fabulous

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Regatta

We chose this ship because of the itinerary and small number of passengers. The staff, the dining, the communication during the trip, the cabin ( bed and linen) were all excellent. The shore excursions offered by the cruise line are expensive and if you are prepared to investigate tours yourself or walk down to the dock and take a chance on a tour, then they are at least 30% cheaper. The ...

First Timers review of Oceania Alaska I have cruised with Carnival, Celebrity, Century, Costa, Disney, Holland America, Norwegian, Paul Gauguin, Princess, Regent, Royal Caribbean & Scenic. This was our 6th cruise to Alaska. 20 May – Arrived at Canada Place at 1 pm. We were herded upstairs to a big hall where we sat for 30-40 mins before doing ship check-in. Then we went ...

Was I on the same ship???

Just got back from one of the finest cruises I have ever taken...and glanced at the prior reviews. Were they on the same ship because what I and others experienced was the exact opposite. In some 40 years of cursing the world from Regent to NCL my experience on the Regatta, hands down, was the finest I have experienced. Why: Boarding...Boarded about 2 pm in Vancouver.. no lines..just ...

Our cruise began inauspiciously with the Oceania staff at the airport having no record of our booking the cruise. But after being shown the confirmation, the response was impressive. We were guided by two employees -- one in charge of our bags -- to the taxi stand and sent on our way to the ship. This set the tone for the entire cruise. The staff onboard was superb, always pleasant and ...

A Cruise That Didn't Live Up to Expectations

We recently returned from our first Oceania cruise to Alaska on the Regatta. We had previously sailed on the Marina in the Med and so had high hopes of the Regatta. Like previous reviewers we found the bathrooms pretty small with only enough room for a small shower, sink and toilet. The space was well arranged and there was plenty of room to store toiletries but we we are of average height and we ...

Cruising to Alaska in Near Luxury

This was my 61st cruise, first with Oceania. Overall a very nice cruise, with a few glitches here and there that could be easily fixed with this line to make it nearly perfect. We flew from Washington DC to Vancouver. Our air and transfers were done with the cruise line. I thought it was rather strange that I received confirmation from both my travel agent as well as Oceania about the air ...

Loved our Regatta Alaskan Cruise

This was our first real cruise (did the Disney 3-day cruise in 2001 with small children - fun but mayhem in the common areas of the ship). We were able to upgrade at the last minute to an Owner's Suite and it was luxurious. We had a butler and someone from housekeeping on call 24/7. Our 'kids' (ages 19 and 22) were in a Penthouse concierge suite and they had the same great service. We ate ...
