Disappointing

This was a crossing that lasted 23 days. We chose it largely for the ports. Unfortunately we were closed out of several due to Covid or weather. I understand weather as a reason for not docking, but I don't get the poor transparency. We all had to jump through the Bermuda protocol hoops prior to embarkation but then we didn't go there- likely due to folks not understanding the protocols. ...

I've never been on such a disappointing cruise. And the shame is that since I was in a concierge floor veranda stateroom and didn't want to share a room, I paid almost $20,000 for two weeks of over-the-top mediocrity. The best things were the steward on my floor, the mostly prompt room service and the organization at meals which is a good thing because on Riviera you eat from the buffet for all ...

Frequent quote from staff: “this is it and nothing can be done”

My partner and I are frequent cruisers - 6 in 12 months including Regent (1), Celebrity (2), Viking River (2) and Oceania (1 and done!) We specifically chose the Barcelona to Miami transatlantic crossing for its more numerous stops (6) and especially those in Canary Islands. The second night on board, we were informed by captain that due to weather system they had been monitoring for days ...

The cruise went to some ports wr hadn’t been to and it ended up in Miami. We typically sail Princess and Celebrity, which we enjoy. We were very disappointed in this cruise. The food in the dining room was fair at best, the service was annoying, they would interrupt your conversations constantly to ask if you wanted more water or pepper on your food. Just pour the darn water and ask one ...

I am a travel agent and frequent traveler. We have cruised Oceana many times but now it appears the ”bean-counters” are in control. There were noticeable differences in overall food and services from previous cruises. This was a 27 day cruise and offered $1600 in shipboard credit for our basic balcony cabin. It’s easy to offer lots of OBC when everything is already overpriced to start with. ...

I had sailed on Oceania 3 times on the Marina & Riviera the disappointment was not about the size of the ship it was the decline of Oceania in general. Embarkation: Process went well, fast and easy. Walked aboard, instead of a glass of champagne and staff with smiles, we received this comment, "Need to see your sea pass card. After giving it to him, he said, "your cabin won't be ready ...

Disappointing Oceania Cruise

This was our first time on Oceania. I had heard only good things about this cruise line. We were told that food was excellent, service great and ship lovely. Most of the aforementioned did not hold true. During the life raft drill, before we even left port, we were told that this was a sick ship and that there was Norovirus on our ship. They then said safety measures would be in place. This ...

We liked the itinerary. But we're quickly disappointed by things onboard starting as soon as we saw our Penthouse Stateroom. Nothing was different from 4 years earlier and now the decor was tired and the room overall outdated. Then as soon as we pulled out of port we were informed that we were on a "sick" ship. A number of the crew and passengers had norovirus and the onerous sanitation ...

A Very Underwhelming Cruise on the Riviera

Having cruised on NCL, Celebrity, Princess, Disney and Holland America LIne (cruise line of choice of late), we were looking forward to our experience on Riviera and our "step up" from mass market lines to Premier cruising on O. We researched so that we would be familiar with Oceania and planned what we thought would be nice change from what we were used to on other cruise lines. Our ...

Not What We Expected

We were aboard the Riviera for the Transatlantic crossing Barcelona to Miami. We have done 10 previous cruises but this was our first cruise with Oceania and we were expecting a special experience as we were celebrating my husbands 65th. We really enjoy the relaxing aspect of transatlantic trips. In April we took a Princess's transatlantic and despite not being able to dock in Bermuda due ...
