We've Been to Alaska Before but Never Got This Wet

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Regatta

Embarkation was so easy in Seattle. Literally walk on at noon and head for a great lunch outside. Rooms were not ready until 3 PM. Little did I know that would be the last time I would enjoy food out of doors. The next morning we got up at 6 AM to enjoy the passage through the Seymour Narrows then an hour later the fog rolled in. We didn't see the sun again for a week. The food in the 2 ...

We have always wanted to see Alaska and this was a great choice for us. We flew from Atlanta and chose to have all transfers and trips pre-planned which worked perfectly. We embarked at noon and had lunch at their wonderful buffet before resting on the pool deck until our stateroom was ready, about 3 pm. I was a bit apprehensive as I had read some negative comments about food and bathroom ...

Easy friendly check in - easiest ever experienced. We walked up from the nearby Edgewater Hotel with our suitcases. Wonderful lunch in the Terrace Cafe after embarkation sitting in sunshine with the Blue Angels flying overhead as they were in town. Amazing! Sail away was sunny and windy. I had booked an inside cabin 8028 as we travelled on a budget this time. A different experience to our usual ...

String Quartet Cruising in Alaska

Oceania has a great reputation for treating cruisers well. Indeed the service was exceptional, food superb, and the Alaska destination just fine. We took the little train in from SEATAC which cost $6 versus $40 + tip for a taxi. It was nice to see some kids on the cruise, usually there are none, and they were well looked after by the staff. Another item I noted that was different was the ...

We chose this line because of the itinerary and length. We had visited Alaska before, but not Wrangell or Sitka. Embarkation was extremely quick. We did, however, have to wait until 3:00 pm to enter our cabin. This wasn't much of an issue as we lunched and then waited on the pool deck. Our stateroom 4041 was conveniently located with easy access to both sets of elevators. Our cabin was ...

We have been on only two ocean cruise (but 5 river cruises) and both on the Regatta. I imagine there are better ships out there (i.e. Regent level) that could be worth all 5 stars but for our tastes, the Regatta is just fine and would have no qualms about sailing on her again. If necessary, some easy ways to save would be to make your own transfer, airfare, trip insurance and some excursion ...

This was my first cruise ever, and the first for my mother since she took the Queen Mary in the early 60's. I traveled with my mom (69), sister (29), aunt and uncle both early 70's. My sister and I were definitely in the minority on the trip, but it was an amazing adventure for us. Embarkation and disembarkation were seamless for us. It seemed at several ports, especially Vancouver, that the ...

Have been wanting to go on an Oceania cruise for several years and I must say Regatta did not disappoint in any way! From embarkation to disembarkation and everything in-between the cruise was perfect. We boarded early and since we were in an ocean view cabin our cabin was not to be ready until 3:00. However, we were able to indulge in a delicious lunch in the buffet ( crabmeat salad on ...

Regatta, Oceania five star, except for cabin which was 2 star at best

Excellent everything except cabin, Bathroom so small could barely enter and shower was a joke. 95% of passengers couldn't fit because of age or their size. Common areas were cozy, beautiful and inviting. Food in any venue was gourmet. Embarkation and disembarkation were easy. Luggage arrived well before sailing. Entertainment was good for the size of the ship. The cruise director, Dottie ...

This cruise was a anniversary gift to ourselves as we both have wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise. We work with a travel agent who guided us to Oceania, when she understood our desires for something small and somewhat casual yet luxurious. The trip was sensational with great food options, wonderful entertainment and fabulous service. Embarkation and disembarkation were amazingly quick and very ...
