Oceania? Think again….

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

Read reviews and think thrice before booking an Oceania cruise. We booked the Goddesses to Gondolas cruise because of the pleasurable experience we previously had on (pre-Covid) Oceania, and we wanted to try out the newly-refurbished Riviera. We booked this cruise more than a year before the sailing because we were told by our travel agent that these cruises sell out fast. If we had the ...

Although I have experience with cruising, my review is based purely on observation and not on comparison. We have state balcony room on the concierge level. First and the most striking is a wrongful advertisement as the best cuisine traveling experience/ elegant country style atmosphere . Neither one is correct. There are numerous flows which popped up as soon as you become more ...

We choose this cruise go to different areas than we normally cruise. We wenton several excursions. They were very pricy and just ok. The room was wonderful. The food at the specality restaurants was not good . The steaks were grey in color and had a bad taste. The same for the lobster. So we ended up eating the rest of the trip in the buffet. It was alot more limited than any cruise i have been ...

A huge effort required to be an Oceania customer

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

When Crystal sadly went bankrupt Oceania were among the alternatives we tried out. Here are our findings. Oceania try to carve out a space for themselves between the mass market and the luxury segment. If you ask me they are closer to the former than the latter. THEIR BOOKING AND ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS are designed exclusively to prevent any wrongdoings by the staff in favour of the customer. It ...

You could call it a smoking cruise

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

Good cruise, which could have been better. Sad to report and review. Smoke and smoking affected everything. On board. In our room, verranda and walking on ninth and tenth floors. We couldn't use our verranda on the eight floor. We had friends on the seventh floor who also complained of the smell. There was cigarette and cigar smoking from our first to last day on board, ship. It's a safety ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

We took this cruise believing the marketing hype from Oceania that they were a Premium cruise line. I can assure you it is definitely NOT! Of the 8 cruises we have done other lines like RCL, Celebrity, Princess etc this was the worst cruise of them all. It was more like a 7 night stay in a funeral parlour. The cruise director was useless, there was no shipboard activities, no sail-away parties, ...

Larger Ship was OK but they need to work on Solo Program

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Riviera

I've done three cruises with Oceania before this one and had pretty good times - in those instances there seemed to be some fun folks interested in mingling with the solo travelers and the smaller ships were more cozy and open to mixing people - there were always plenty of shared tables and lots of inclusion. For some reason, this cruise had a different vibe - perhaps because it was the time and ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

We recently returned from a cruise around Italy. We traveled with friends who made the arrangements using Oceania Cruise lines. The ship we traveled on is named Nautica. My wife and I have cruised with several different cruise lines on ten prior occasions. The Nautica is a small ship – 684 total passengers with a staff of 400. We came away feeling that the overall experience was at the bottom of ...

Definitely not six stars...

We chose this cruise to compare to Azamara Club Cruises, another 6-star line. But Azamara wins hands down for the quality of its staff, staff training, cleanliness on the ship, quality of food, etc. Riviera’s design is that it’s cafe is on Deck 14, which looks out onto the pool deck, crescent-shaped, so quite small, whereas the library next door is huge by comparison. The night’s entertainment ...

Disappointing

The cruise went to some ports wr hadn’t been to and it ended up in Miami. We typically sail Princess and Celebrity, which we enjoy. We were very disappointed in this cruise. The food in the dining room was fair at best, the service was annoying, they would interrupt your conversations constantly to ask if you wanted more water or pepper on your food. Just pour the darn water and ask one ...
