The cruise staff was very very nice. That's the only positive thing. The cruise was attended by emptying 3 or 4 retirement old folk home. Maybe, 10 people under 70 and there were many people were on walkers and wheelchairs. In addition, the very few activities were canceled when a gastro infection was taking people down. No daily lively entertainment. This cruise is for recovering from a ...
Oceania Sirena - Miami to Panama City - March 7-17 2024
This was my third cruise with Oceania. The first was the Eastern Mediterranean in 2009, the second was Northern Europe in 2012. I really enjoyed those two cruises; this one, not so much. Based on my experiences on this cruise, it's unlikely I will take a 4th cruise with Oceania.
Let's start with the good. The food was excellent. I did ...
First time for us on Oceania. Very small ship. No crowds. They advertise "The best cuisine at sea, NOT! The buffet was awful. Main dining room, hit or miss. Specialty dining(included in price) Very Good. Room service was fast and efficient. Bread was always stale. Not much entertainment on board but enjoyable. Comedian was just plain terrible. Her second show drew less than 20 people. I was on ...
We chose the cruise as it was goiing to interesting different ports of call. The first one was Costa Maya, where we were unable to dock and understand that happens frequently. also heard that actually its very scruffy there. Other ports of call varied. We had an excellent excursion from Guatamala with brilliant guide and included high speed boat trip up the New River. The Tabyana beach day, ...
The ship itself is lovely. The Concierge stateroom was nice, more storage needed. The food was fabulous, the specialty restaurants were superb and the staff friendly and very accommodating. That having been said, first thing missing is a good interactive App. You couldn’t see a map of the ship unless you were at the elevators. You couldn’t plan your day unless you carried around the printout they ...
This was our first cruise on Oceania after previous cruises on Seabourn and Viking. Vista is a beautiful ship with high class interiors and all the amenities one could want. Having just been launched in 2023, the new ship design allowed for new approaches to a healthy environment, such as no-touch doors in all public areas. Just waive your hand over a sensor and the door opens. The buffet in ...
Overall loved the ship. Really elegant. Though similar to Riviera/Marina, there ARE differences. No Jacques. Now its Ember. no hallway to the back of the ship. its now part of Ember. The Grand Lounge is much more elegant than before with gorgeous hand made crystal scattered about. Furniture is upgraded throughout the ship. Pool area is expanded with the slash over area increased in size. There are ...
Do not i repeat, do not book an norwegian/oceana cruise. You have been warned we are on the around the world cruise currently. the cruise is 196 days from miami florida to new york. It is utterly a complete disappoint. If i was to write every disappointment, we have experienced up to now it would be 10 pages. We are going to try to condense it. First, they advertises the best cuisine at sea. That ...
The attraction to this cruise WAS the itinerary - daytime passage through Panama Canal was a highlight and ending in Lima, Peru allowed us to knock off Machu Picchu post cruise (booked it directly through Peru For Less). The onboard staff representing 50+ countries were always helpful and efficient - a special shout out to housekeeping and Terrace Cafe staff. Disappointments: there were so many. ...
The itinerary was our deciding factor for choosing this Cruiseline/Ship. The dates also matched up with when we wanted to be away. Add in that this itinerary knocked a ton of items off our BUCKET LIST:
• Crossing the “Tropic of Cancer”
• Visit Central America
• Transit the Panama Canal
• Crossing the “Equator”
• Visit South America
• Penthouse suite on a Cruise Ship! (Thanks to ...
