This was our second cruise on the Riviera, we have been on 25+ trips on a mix of lines.
We got to Miami a day early and stayed at the Sonesta in Connut Grove. Very nice hotel although pricey. Took a cab to the port, 20 minute ride. As we had a B1 cabin we got there at 1pm as the pre cruise docs advised and were on the ship in ten minutes. Oceania boards the ship in the order of your room type so ...
We have 20 cruises under our belts, this being our first on Oceania. As others have noted, this ship is absolutely the most elegant one by far. It was like being in a county club at sea. Everywhere you looked there were dark wood, tan carpets and Stravorsky crystal lighting. WOW! Our Concierge cabin on deck 9 was very roomy with enough storage for all of our things. The bathroom, again, was ...
My wife and I have cruised 20+ times with a variety of lines - most recently Silversea, Regent and Cunard QG.
We have just returned from a 10day Eastern Caribbean cruise on Riviera - our first time on Oceania. We had one night pre-cruise in the JW Marriott hotel in Miami and transfers arranged by Oceania. These all worked out very well and embarkation was very quick.
Our Penthouse suite was ...
Embarkation in Miami was smooth and efficient. We booked concierge cabin so bypassed the short line for embarkation. Room was not ready but we had lunch and afterwards our room was ready for our arrival. We attempted to modify one of our specialty restaurant reservations and lines were fairly long for reservation support. Strongly advise booking all specialty restaurant reservations before ...
Riviera Jan 13th to 23rd
My opinions and observations.
Embarkation day went smoothly. We arrived just before noon, were cleared by port reps to go to the registration desk in short order.
The concierge line was short and moved quickly ...we boarded the ship then went to The Terrace for lunch.
Service seemed to be a bit disorganized even for the first day.
The cabins were ready around ...
Oceanica Regatta Sunsplashed Islands 6-16 January 2014.
Boarding in Miami was not the most organised, the were lots of crew about but none seemed to know what the procedure was and consequently there was a deal of confusion. The pre cruise information stated that boarding for PH class would commence at 1100am, it started at 1130 and was pretty easy however the cabins (suites) were not to be ...
Ship: The Riviera is a lovely ship, with fabulous decor, artwork, lighting, and ornaments throughout the ship. There is marble everywhere and the public areas are spotless. The lights in the Grand Dining Room have to be seen to be believed. Wouldn't like to clean them tho.
Food: Having read lots about the quality and standard of food on Oceania I had high expectations. In general I was not ...
This was our first trip on Oceania but not our first cruise, we have 30+ on the traditional mass market lines. We did our own air using the credit from Oceania. Went down the day before and stayed in the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. Very nice, basic hotel right by the Bay side Market. The credit was enough to cover the air, hotel and taxi's.
Embarkation & Disembarkation: Very easy, we got to the ...
We recently took the Mayan Mystery tour on Riviera and whilst it is a beautiful ship with excellent food, their is something distinctly missing in their delivery.
I agree with previous reviews re restaurants, suites and general presentation of the ship so there is no point in duplicating this in my review.
Our first interaction with the customer service 6 weeks prior to sailing as we were ...
My wife and I just returned from a very relaxing 10-day Caribbean cruise on the Oceania Riviera. While most of our reactions were thoroughly positive, there were a few negatives too. I'll start with the positives.
The ship: Just a year old, the small-to-moderate size ship is beautiful throughout, with generally excellent facilities, including great staterooms with verandas, plenty of dining ...
