4 1/2 stars. We were a couple with a B2 balcony on the E Caribbean cruise and had sailed on sister ship Regatta in Fr Polynesia roughly a year earlier (recommended). I think the 'overview' description of both ships as being smaller and therefore 'quieter' with fewer activities is really useful for first-timers to understand. It's true that the passenger profile skews older but we met (and met ...

Great Small Ship Experience - Happy Holidays

We originally booked this cruise intending to spend the holidays visiting Cuba, but when those plans were disrupted we opted to stay on Insignia to visit the Caribbean. We are glad we did. Ports included St. Barths, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and San Juan, Puerto Rico. We booked private tours ashore and enjoyed the ports. It was our first time on Oceania, and on a cruise with so few ...

Hard to find any negatives

This year, we dumped Viking, after a decade, because of the recent cutbacks to their on-board experience. We were delighted to find none of those annoyances on Insignia. The food is outstanding. We enjoyed trying a lot of "luxury" foods that we don't have at home: oysters Rockefeller; caviar; lobster, escargot, filet mignon, etc. And we enjoyed the wide variety of fresh fruits, especially ...

Amazing Food and Crew, but WiFi is NOT.

We chose this cruise to join friends. The ship is lovely, the service is impeccable, and the food is DELICIOUS!! However, when they say free WiFi is included, don't get excited. Only one device can log into WiFi at a time and it is painfully slow. This made it difficult to communicate with each other. Of course, you can upgrade for a price. :) One small issue is the need for late night ...

I originally chose this cruise because of its itinerary with a stop in Cuba. Well, Cuba was cancelled through no fault of the cruise line, but it was a big disappointment. It's a disgrace that the cruise and travel industry was placed in such an untenable position with the cancellation of travel to Cuba. EMBARKATION: I arrived at the port around noon. I was greeted at the bottom of the ...

First of all, bear this in mind: I really wanted to give Insignia a four-and-nine-tenths rating, but there's no button for that, so I settled for a four. Why not just go ahead and punch the fifth button? you ask. Well, a five is perfection. Insignia is wonderful, but perfection is unattainable for any ship. So four it must be. DW and I are veterans of more than 50 cruises, mostly on ...

Mostly enjoyable but likely not doing another Oceania cruise anytime soon

My wife Nicci and I opted to move up to a luxury cruise line because we were weary of the hustle and bustle found on mass market cruises like on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. While we previously enjoyed a Celebrity cruise to Bermuda, we wanted to take a longer cruise in the Caribbean, our favorite vacation destination, that would still jibe with Nicci’s schedule as a school nurse but also would ...

A wonderful cruise with a great itinerary

Review for a Africa Cruise on Insignia

We were interested in getting to some of the countries in West Africa and this cruise included three stops (Togo, Benin, Sao Tome) as well as two countries in South Africa (Namibia & South Africa). The staff were very supportive. The Cruise Director (Leslie) was Outstanding at managing the afternoon Trivia (best we've encountered in over 30 cruises). This was important because we had nine sea ...

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. We wanted to see as much of Cuba as possible so the three port stops was ideal. Havana was nice with the classic car tour. Our driver was very nice, spoke some English. The only thing was we saw a lot of Havana but I did not get many pictures due to the fact that we only stopped at Revolutionary Square and a Hotel for a drink. Would like to have ...

We have traveled with Oceania on 6 prior occasions and have completely enjoyed all of them. The Cuban trip was fascinating and very enjoyable. It was really a blast back to the past in many ways. Havana, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, and Santiago were all very different and and amazing places to have the opportunity to visit. The people are very friendly and great full to see American’s. Obviously we help ...
