Falls short of the luxury it claims for the wrong reasons
"We have done a lot of cruising - as for this one - our first on Oceania - it is worth noting that it takes more than a smaller ship to make a cruise a luxury cruise. This cruise overall was good - however we have found some of intermediate size ships with the big line carriers easily up to par at oder cost- the sad thing is this cruise falls short of luxury for all the reasons that it should not - service...."Read More

The Oceania Insignia is well refurbished - tasteful and easy to get around on. She came back across the Atlantic through a tropical storm and our group of 8 people all felt safe. The ship was remarkably stable despite the 15 ft waves and 42 mph winds for 24 hours. Yes the cabin is smaller because its a smaller ship and the entertainment is not the same as big liners - however it is still good ...

We're in our 60's and have cruised on many lines over the last 40 years. Favorite cruise ship right now would be Celebrity Equinox. We booked Oceania Insignia for its smaller intimate ship size, highly recommended cuisine, and itinerary to Hamilton and St. George Bermuda. We truly miss the ability of the newer mega ships to dock there. They are too large to fit in Hamilton, and much too large to ...

We booked this cruise as a less expensive alternative to flying down and staying a few nights in a $1200 a night room in one of the resorts down in Bermuda. The itinerary was perfect-- 2.5 days in St George and a day and a half in Hamilton and well away from the large ships in the Dockyard. A well positioning floating hotel near all the things we like to go and do on the island. It was our first ...

This was the smallest ship we have ever cruised on. There was no problem doing anything on board that we wanted to do. Even with only four small elevators (sign said max capacity of 10...realistically more like six), there was never an unreasonable wait time. The dining experiences were all over the top...service was excellent...wait staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and efficient (even ...

I've been trying to get my husband to do the 'leaf peeper' cruise for, at least, 4 years &, to my surprise, he acquiesced this year. Of course, we always choose Oceania when possible. We flew in early to Montreal and spent two wonderful days/3 nights so our happiness began there! Embarkation was flawless and we were greeted by our beautiful & gracious cabin stewardess who immediately noted my only ...

This was our seventh time on Oceania, and we always enjoy these smaller ships. This time, the food, service and entertainment were all better than on our previous Oceania cruise. The itinerary was very interesting (New York / New York via New England, Nova Scotia and Bermuda). The shore excursions on Oceania are really expensive compared to other cruise lines, but we were able to go ...
