Great Cruise Except for the Flu Outbreak

We looked forward to this South American cruise for a long time. Except for missing two ports due to wind and waves, it was a wonderful trip. Regatta is a lovely small ship. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was really good, even the food at the buffet. Unfortunately, some passengers and crew came down with influenza. There were repeated requests for everyone to wash their hands and ...

Very good first cruise on Oceania

I chose the cruise based on itinerary as I do all my travel. The trip down the Amazon was great but not as good as I hoped. I have been on the Amazon in Peru and perhaps because I stayed in a lodge on the river it seemed to capture more of the "spirit" of the place better than the shore excursions I had. I liked most aspects of the cruise and would recommend Oceania to friends. The one area ...

We boarded the boat in Rio, after a delay to sanitize the ship. We did receive an email with the delay in boarding the day before and managed to check our bags and take the tour we arranged. We were given sandwiches and lemonade while we waited. We were aware that most of the ports were small without experienced tour guides and air conditioned buses. We found some private tours that were ...

This was a first Oceania cruise for after more than 10 on other lines. We enjoyed the upscale lounging and gathering areas, but found the guest entertainment mediocre for the most part. The staff entertainment was always good. Enjoyed the lectures related to the various cultures and history of the places we were going. We were not particularly interested in the lectures on the flora of the ...

First time on Oceania line. First time on a smaller ship (700 or so passengers). Terrific experience overall and a wonderful series of ports in Brazil, Uraguay and Argentina. Highlights: food, service, housekeeping, complimentary water and soft drinks, bar and wine staff, cruise director (Leslie Jon), premium restaurant (Toscana), cruise entertainment staff, veranda, ample deck seating, ...

We arrived in New York four nights before the cruise. It had been many years since we were in the Big Apple so we wanted to have plenty of time to see the City and to relax from our long journey. The HOHO buses was a good option and we had picked up a good special on the net before we left home. On 24 October we embarked the cruise. We arrived about 11 a.m. and we were on the ship in about ...
