The cruise had a fabulous itinerary and we chose it for that. We were not disappointed. The cruise was amazing and the ports were phenomenal. Everything was interesting and easily explored. Sometimes we had to travel a distance from port to the points of interest but that is often to be expected with a cruise. We could not have been more pleased with the choice of ports.

The cruise was generally excellent mainly because of the the variety of food, the service, the gym and running track, and the itinerary. I will not go into detail on those factors because you can read about them in numerous other reviews. Instead, I will discuss a few deficiencies aboard Nautica and suggest some ways to overcome them so that they will not interfere with your enjoyment of the ...
Oceania is a fantastic cruise line, up there with the best. The crew were second to none and the food is of course exemplary. We never had a problem finding sun loungers (despite many shaded sunloungers being reserved every day) and there were many day beds available at all times too. The show lounge is called the Sirena lounge and it is more akin to a bar/lounge rather than the more typical ...
We recently returned from an eleven day cruise from Rome to Venice on the Oceania's Sirena. We picked this cruise because of the itinerary. The Oceania did an excellent job of getting to every port as scheduled so we had ample time at each port to explore. My only complaint is that we tendered twice, and the tender boats were very uncomfortable with no fans and very hot.

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the amenities.
The passenger age definitely skews to the over 60 crowd.
The food was among the best we have ever had on a cruise ship. The specialty restaurants offered a good variety of dishes. The Italian and French restaurants were the better of the 4. As New Yorkers, we have no shortage of good steakhouses or Asian restaurants so ...
We found the staff very hard working and dedicated but where are they?? We think Riviera has cut staff and we have never seen so many staff cry or be called out by the heads of each of the restaurants. Lots of bullies on this ship. We saw one young girl with at least 8 tables in the buffet to look after. That's getting coffee, drinks, cleaning the table, taking the dishes to the kitchen, ...
I’m going to focus on just a few issues and explain our perspective, as that may help you decide how relevant our opinions are to you. This is by far the biggest ship we’ve ever cruised on. Our experience has been with expedition cruises, especially National Geographic Lindblad, and small luxury ships, especially Seadream. Some people might not think Riviera is large, but we do.

We booked this cruise because of the ports and Jacques Pepin would be on board. We upgraded to a marvelous Owners suite--8th floor. I didn't like we were on the 8th floor at first, but once in suite, it was glorious and contrary to other reports, we got lots of sun on the balcony (we were in an oceania suite on prior cruise and never got sun...so it depends on how the ship is sailing).

My husband and I are in our 50's. We recently joined family members on a recent cruise to the Southern Mediterranean. We were in a new port everyday (no sea days). Embarkation and disembarkation was extremely smooth! The Marina is beautiful and our cabin (veranda) was fantastic. The food was very good, especially in Red Ginger! Loved the specialty activities such as the cooking (additional ...
We chose this cruise as we were hoping to have a better cruise experience by going up a catagory. Did it live up to its hype. Not really. We were kept from our stateroom for hours as they said that they were deep cleaning the rooms due to the gastro virus. So when we finally were able to access our stateroom, it was dirty, dusty and the bathroom still had used shampoo bottles in the tub....deep ...
