We chose this cruise primarily because of the itinerary and it did not disappoint. We made all our own tour arrangements at each port so I can not comment on the ships tours. Our room was fantastic and the service bar none. We found all the amenities great. We especially liked the Terrace Cafe just because of its variety of selection and casual atmosphere. We did enjoy Toscanas food as well, ...
Background information: We are veteran cruisers with many years of cruising in different parts of the world on different cruise lines (includes Oceania, Disney, RCI, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, Cunard). This was our 30th cruise, our longest cruise to date, our eighth on Oceania and our first on Sirena. I have done several other cruise reviews on Cruise Critic.
This cruise was ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to visit Israel and the Greek Isles. We spent 3 days in Athens before the cruise and 2 after the cruise. We have been cruising since the early 80's. We chose this ship because we aren't comfortable with very large or very small ships. 1,250 passengers was just right for us. Embarkation and debarkation went very smooth. The ship is well laid out. The ...
The cabin, ports, dining and service delivered by Oceania were superb, providing us with a wonderful 12 day cruise that created the trip of a lifetime.
We are experienced and frequent overseas travellers, but had always been hesitant about the cruise experience, due to concerns about the quality of meals, and the "tour bus" experience.
But from the moment you walk on to Riviera and see the ...
Doesn't matter which ship you take on Oceania; some people prefer the larger (1250 passengers), other the smaller (650 passengers), but always first class service and food. None of this comes inexpensively, so what's to complain about?
There were a lot of families with kids on this cruise. Whoooops, not much for kids to do on Oceania. Someone gave them bad advice to take this line, it is ...
We cruised on the Riviera from 19 April through 29 April for the Sacred Sanctuaries itinerary. We cruised on other lines in the past, but decided to try Oceania for the stop in Israel and the particular stateroom that we selected.
We had a bit of a nightmare getting to Athens to get on the cruise, but that has nothing to do with Oceania. However, we made it! We found the embarkation ...
The itinerary was perfect for us giving us a chance to see Athens before sailing then 3 days in Israel docked in Haifa. The size of the cabin and Oceania's reputation aided in the decision.
When we planned this we were looking for something going to Israel and the length of time we were going to be there was the most attractive aspect.
Cruising to the Greek islands was an added ...
The Sirena is a mid-sized ship so I was delighted not to see so many people in line during check in. It was smooth and easy. We were extremely disappointed when at check-in they told us that our stop in Egypt was cancelled and provided no explanation for this decision only saying it was foe security reasons. Many of the people booked this trip because we were stopping in Egypt for two days and ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to go in a less crowded ship. Before, we've sailed in larger ships of about 2500 passengers. We really enjoyed less people aboard, more tranquility.
Athens is really a very interesting place to visit, Achropolis is incredible and its musueum.
The embarkation and disembarkation process went really smoothly.
Is a very nice refurbished ship, with a nice ...
I had always wanted to try a TA cruise and this was a perfect opportunity. It turned out even better than my expectations. The greatest aspect was the leisurely pace, not having to get up early in the morning for a shore excursion, having plenty of time to linger over meals, and lots of the during the day for reading and napping.
My wife and I did only the 14 day TA crossing and returned from ...
