This is our first cruise and certainly was not amazing or even anything close to what we signed up for. After two planned Mediterranean Cruises were cancelled with Oceania refusing to refund our monies, or offer any incentives for the cancelled cruises, we booked a Caribbean Cruise that had six ports with day long adventure opportunities. After a few port changes in the weeks before sailing, ...
We chose this cruise because we had to use a FCC from 2 years ago when our cruise was cancelled. We originally chose Oceania because of all the "hype" on outstanding cuisine and service and the Itinerary. This was our first time on Oceania and we had very high expectations. We have cruised about 20 times prior on Celebrity, Holland, Carnival, Princess and Viking.
The food on Oceania was ...
Family recommended this cruise line and went with family and friends. This is our 7th or 8th cruise in last two years.
Pros: Staff was friendly, accommodating, room very clean.
John at the omelette station was an artist and made breakfast very enjoyable.
Sauna, steam room and showers very good--Great water therapy tub with jet movement
Cons::
Dining and food experience ...
We thought we should try another line as we had only done many cruises on Crystal. Positives- our cabin was very nice, our steward was great, and room service was good, tea was nice. Unfortunately the tiny table on our veranda was so small that we had to eat with our plates on our lap. Negatives- terrible service regarding drinks at dinner ( we had the premiere package), terrible food in main ...
First I'm going to give the good and the bad on my just completed trip on Oceania Sirena.
I took my son on a 7 day cruise from MIA - MIA (Jan 6 - 13, 2020) on Oceania's Sirena with stops in Key West, Belize Harvest Caye, Roatan, and Costa Maya. The ship is a small ship with only 684 pax. I can't speak about drinks as neither my son nor I drink.
First the Very Good:
We got to the ship ...
Let me begin by stating that this was our 10th cruise with Oceania. My comments are our opinion and based on personal experience on the December 21, 2019 Sunny Holidays Cruise on Oceania Sirena. Oceania is not what it used to be. We observed and experienced a large discrepancy in the food from previous sailings. Chilean Sea Bass, Caviar, Almond Croissants and high levels of meat were a given ...
We have cruised on this ship several times pre the NCL takeover and without doubt NCL have damaged Riviera's reputation perhaps forever.
Staff numbers have been cut and service levels can be poor as staff struggle to cope.
Reductions of recipe ingredient costs and along with it quality has had a damming effect on food standards...meat even the bread is simply on occasion not what you would ...
Just returned from the Tokyo to Singapore (25day)segment of the World Cruise on Insignia. (We were not advised at time of booking with Oceania that we were joining a world cruise)Spent a lot of money on this trip and have never had such a bad experience on Oceania. We were not aware we were joining aprox 360 world cruisers (w.c’s.) but found out right away that cliques had already been established ...
The itinerary was the main attraction, plus decent reviews.
I'll start with the positives. Embarkation was easy. Service in all areas was really good.
End of positives.
The ship rode poorly, even in fairly calm seas. Constant bumping noises & feelings for the first 2 days , for no apparent reason.
Stateroom ( Concierge Veranda ) - lots of creaking noises - had to jam pieces of ...
My partner and I are frequent cruisers - 6 in 12 months including Regent (1), Celebrity (2), Viking River (2) and Oceania (1 and done!)
We specifically chose the Barcelona to Miami transatlantic crossing for its more numerous stops (6) and especially those in Canary Islands. The second night on board, we were informed by captain that due to weather system they had been monitoring for days ...
