We were on the Regatta from Australia to New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa x 2 and French Polynesia. My feedback is as follows:
1. Staff - very friendly and generally eager to please. However, tend to be a number who lack training, so service is variable.
2. Cabins - please don't pretend they are state rooms, it insults the passengers! Generally basic, but good enough, but shower area is tiny. Bigger ...
We were planning a long cruise of 9 weeks from Auckland to LA of about 9 weeks. When they sold it to us we thought that this was one cruise but we found out that this cruise was split up in 3 parts. With twice the same ports as you did at the end of the cruise that just ended. That was not told at all when they sold this to us! So at the end of the first cruise part you end again in Auckland where ...
This was our first time on an Oceania ship. Friends had said they were very good and considered a "higher level" cruise line. Was really looking forward to the trip. We did a 14 day portion of the 77 day trip from LA to Sydney.
The hotels chosen by Oceania for before and after cruise stay in Tokyo and HK were wonderful. However there was a confusion re bus number on embarkation day to take us ...
My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway and Oceana was advertised about being luxury and amazing food. After several other cruises we thought we would give it a go thinking it could be right for us...
1. Food was not amazing. We had about 50% success rate with the meals. A few were very good. They are catering to an older crowd and not a foodie crowd.
2. Older crowd is the focus 75+ ...
This was my 11th O cruise and over 70th overall.
O began to scare me a bit here. We have generally been happy with the cruises over the years. This time here are my pros and concerns
Pros
- Crew service was top notch. We had a couple small things were we could not get served in the Martini bar but it was a one off. Wait staff was as good as any line afloat
- Piano bar performer ...
We chose it because of Ravings about O’s food. 1. -The buffet always had a better variety than the MDR and the food was usually ok although the chef seems to fear spice. We were expecting food like the photos online..nope, unless you were in a specialty restaurant. + No charge for these, must make reservations. + room service was great… Food and service top notch in room service. + Lobster is ...
This was our third cruise with Oceania. Once on Riveria and the other on Marina. Those two cruises were wonderful.
We were impressed by the quality of the foods in all of the restaurants and the friendliness of all staff.
The daily golf games were fun and interacting with the other passengers was encouraged.
When we returned home we were very satisfied and thought of when we would plan ...
Like several other reviewers, we had sailed with Oceania on 5 occasions before the "pandemic" and rebooked based on those experiences.
This is clearly a company where the dead hand of remote corporate policy wonks is at work, setting procedures and practices on the ships with absolutely no clue of what going on at the operational, customer facing level. Penny pinching ad nauseum.
This was an ...
We were anticipating a culinary experience which we had not done before and hoped to learn on the things we had missed out on in the past.
We thought we would give you our thoughts about this cruise.
Our first impression of the ship when we embarked was "what the hell have we done".
We were instructed to go to deck 9 for lunch (pool deck) where we found Waves grill which served burgers ...
The cruise ship was in for routine maintenance and we were informed the day of embarkation that there was a strike in North Vancouver and the ship would be delayed until 1 PM. They then told us 4:PM. At 4 were told we could go to the terminal to check in, and proceeded to wait until 6:30 PM to check in. Once we arrived on the ship we were told it would not leave until 1:00 AM the next day. On the ...
