Pretty decent cruise but there is room for improvement

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Oceania Vista

What we loved... Obviously, the food. Oceania promises the best food at sea, and in 90% of their venues, they succeed. Every single place to eat was as good or better than any place I have eaten on any other ship. If cruising is all about food for you—you want Oceania. Loved Toscana, Aquamar Kitchen (try the Poke bowl), Terrace Cafe, Polo Grille, Red Ginger and Pizzeria...in that order. Only ...

Great in parts

This was our first Oceania cruise. We were tempted by the new ship and the itinerary. We were certainly not disappointed by the ship nor the itinerary although the itinerary was somewhat spoilt by the weather which affected a couple of stops. The ship is quite beautiful - restful colours everywhere and some very 'interesting' art. Not always to our taste (the painting over our bathroom toilet was ...

We have sailed on many lines but this was our first on Oceania. When we saw this cruise, on their brand new ship, we knew it was time to give them a try. What we liked - beautiful ship, very clean, wonderful bed, good shower, roomy bathroom, comfortable veranda furniture (standard veranda cabin), fabulous cabin stewards (they were really awesome!) What we didn’t like - the food, spotty ...

New Ship - New Favorite Spot

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Oceania Vista

Wanted to experience the new Vista and was not disappointed. The new venues were great and looking forward to its new sister ship Allura. Dining - The Grand Dining Room is truly grand. White columns and half walls break up the cavernous space and allow for a quieter more intimate experience no matter where you are seated. Menu selections were good but did notice rather dull options when it ...

Disappointing

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Insignia

I chose this cruise because I’ve wanted to do a leaf cruise and we were on Insignia last December 2022/January 2023 (Panama Canal) and it was excellent. We had every expectation that this cruise would be the same. Sadly it was not. Specifically the food in the Grand Dining Room was not good. The menus were terrible and the descriptions lacking or incorrect. I have never had to resort to the always ...

Ship is beautiful! Food not so good.

Fifth cruise with Oceania. The ship is beautiful. The food was way below average. Most of the Pastries were stale.I ordered Lamb medium and got it close to raw, and tough. Osso Buco Alla Milanese worst I have ever had and was so looking forward to having it. The taramasu and Cream Brulae was awful!, no flavor and under cooked, both runny. I meet several people on the Vista and they all made ...

Marina - weather affected cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

The weather played havoc with our cruise and while I understand that no-one can control that, I'm not sure that the best decisions were always made. We missed a day in Bordeaux and Tangier - both highlights of the cruise. We had 4 sea days instead of one, although we were compensated with a future cruise credit. Embarkation during a storm was a disaster. We had to drop untagged luggage at one ...

3 missed ports and all 3 were the reason to sail. Very very disappointing

We sailed on the Marina in September doing back to back cruises Portsmouth to Portsmouth. Portsmouth to Barcelona! First cruise was acceptable but the Marina is a worn out ship. We have sailed on her before and her condition was excellent but now she needs a full refurb. Drawers broken, wardrobe unable to slide open, water stains in the bathroom. Food was okay, certainly not the best food at ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

We are experienced cruisers and book cruises for the ports of call, not the food and not for the entertainment. We booked the Marina -Oceanian for this recent September 2023 cruise as it's ports of call included Saint Malo, France, Portugal and most importantly, Morrocco. The Cruise by pasted all three of them do to "weather". When we finally made our 1st port, Bordeaux we docked overlooking a ...

Extremely disappointmenting

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

We choice this cruise for 2 reasons. Number one was the itinerary and number two was the fact that we have previouslsly sailed with Oceania on the Marina, and were quite satisfied. The overall cruise was fair at best. The ship was clean although there were some areas of deterioration. The greatest asset was the staff with the exception of the senior officers. The most significant ...
