DISAPPOINT

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Riviera

Since Norwegian took control of Oceania, the shipping company sank, the former European crew disappear, now Filipinan crew, the dress code also disappeared, pasesengers in Jeans, sportt shoes, shorts and swimwear in the Bars and Restaurants, definitvely completely lost its category. The quality of food also is not the same and the service is rude, scales with absurd schedules like Ibiza only a ...

Great Food, Service & Cabin but non existent "free" internet

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

We loved the ship, the service was impeccable and the food was very good. I would have to say the food in the main dining was better than the specialty restaurants except for Red Ginger and Jacques which were excellent. The service on board was top notch. We were promised free unlimited internet but were never able to even get to the server and when we did it was impossible to get email and ...

Not like our past two Riviera cruises!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

After having just read the review by Shoko I feel like we shared the exact same experience! I, too, discovered that Oceania was bought out by NCL and also found out that NCL is trying to 'come up' to Oceania's high standards. Well, in dong so, I often felt that Nautica was going DOWN to NCL! My husband and I were always promoting Oceania to our friends in EVERY area from service to food to the way ...

Not what it used to be

We sailed Oceania 5 years ago and loved it. This time we felt something different. We found out that it was bought out by Norwegian Cruise Lines. That explains it all. When we entered the room we had to get housekeeping to come back and clean the room. The service was not consistent throughout the ship. There were some wonderful people, trying very hard to please us and there were some that ...

I chose this ship and this cruise for the following reasons; a) My partner and I are pass cruisers with this line. b) we had completed six weeks in Europe and this was the perfect way to return to US. c) ship newly refurbished. Embarkation for us was early and wonderful. Cabin was ready before expected. Cabin, Category A1 was nothing special. It was clean and well ...

Transatlantic Disappointment

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Sirena

We have sailed Oceania 6 times and this time we were disappointed, not in the amenities or service which was outstanding. We chose a transatlantic crossing thinking there would be movies, lectures on varied topics beside the usual games and such. All we got was 5 days of the same games and the usual banal nonsense. We played bridge but the instructors were not thrilling. The shows are what we ...

Somewhat disappointing but Canary Islands were a highlight

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Sirena

Chose this trip because of itinerary and good experience we had on prior Oceania cruises. With the funds spent to refurbish this ship, we expected more. We found no WOW factor anywhere. Having recently traveled on the Marina, we found the food here to be disappointing. We found several of our shore excursion guides less than satisfactory -- some did not keep group together, some lacked ...

Sirena, a lot less than expected.

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Sirena

We booked this cruise as a result of an excellent previous Oceania cruise (on Riviera) and corporate publicity for their 'new' ship. I will endeavour to be honest and truthful with regard to my comments and facts. The company Oceania (now owned by Norwegian Cruise Lines NCL) recently purchased this ship from Princess Cruise Lines where it had two names, Tahitian Princess and Ocean Princess. ...

Good but not a repeater

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Sirena

The Sirena was the new addition to the fleet and having sailed on all the others we thought we would like to be on it's inaugural voyage. We took the section from Barcelona to Le Havre, 21 days. The SIrena is another of the old Renaissance ships. It was sold twice before Oceania purchased it last year and "refurbished" it. We expected something new and different, we got something old and ...

to see Spain coast and Morocco. We came one day early to make sure catching the cruise. it seemed a bad idea staying in it assigned hotel Barcelona Hilton, not only charged double for 2 persons in one room, but had very poor service. Coming after a red eye flight from Atlanta around 10 AM, the front desk lady refused to let us check in early to get some sleep but let the same ...
