We sailed the Amsterdam to Hamburg cruise with a few days at cruise selected pre cruise hotel. Day of sailing we waited 90 minutes after the pickup time at hotel in a small room with no seating. NO BUS NO Information. We were told the bus broke and no idea when we might be picked up but a rep would walk us on a LOVELY walk to the ship RESULT a 2 mile trek to the ship with carry two carry on bags. ...
We have always done independent travel and love being on our own schedule. This cruise was a first for us and we were apprehensive about being with so many others on a set schedule. As it turns out we had much more freedom than anticipated and we thoroughly enjoyed our fellow passengers as well as the kind and hard working crew.
We chose this cruise based on itinerary. We were blessed with ...
We were group of 8, including 3 couples. We last sailed Oceania in 2007 and had always planned to return to Europe.
Spent 1 night in Amsterdam pre cruise, which helped with the jetlag. Food was delicious, played trivia every day, took in most of the nightly shows. We especially enjoyed the Polo Grill, but thouroughly enjoyed getting together for dinner
each night with our group. Personally we ...
We chose the cruise due to the marketing around the quality of the food and the emphasis on service.
Whilst the food was, in the main adequate to good, it was not the best cuisine. Also, I had the lobster in the Polo Grill and it was inedible !
We had prepaid excursions however, when we got on board, this was disputed by Reception, as was the fact that our package included gratuities. We had ...
We had not cruised for several years (pandemic and health issues) and were really excited to try a luxury cruise line. All of our previous 20 or so cruises have been with Premium cruise lines. We should have tried a short Oceania cruise before committing to a World Cruise so the fact that we were so disappointed was our fault entirely. On the positive side, the ship size was perfect. We were able ...
NOTE: We were only on the first segment from Miami to San Francisco.
The following review is intended to provide helpful information to those considering cruising on the Oceania Insignia. Please remember that this is only one person’s opinion and may not reflect your view or the opinions of others. I will be providing a grade for each of the ship’s various services along with an explanation of ...
We initially selected this cruise back in 2019, based on the itinerary especially calling into St Petersburg for 2 nights, but of course this was cancelled.
The ports were varied from great ( Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki,Talinn) to average(Riga, Gdansk, due to the excursion, an hour on the bus and very limiting time and a lot of guide talk) to not so good at all- Aarhus and Kotka. Visby was ...
We chose this cruise because we had believed the publicity that dining with Oceania was outstanding. We were so disappointed. First let me tell you about the plus side of our sail. Our Penthouse Suite was all that we'd expected and more. The view from the balcony and the extra window was interesting and bright. The butler and maid service was very good. The shows, which we'd been led to ...
This was our 5th cruise on Oceania, and it was as great as always. We were on the Baltic cruise and although we had been to a number of the ports there were some we hadn't visited. Since the ship is only in most ports a day, there is always something new we find to explore even though we have been in the port before.
There were only about 350 passengers (so we heard) on our cruise. Needless to ...
Chose this cruise as we like Oceania, embarkation close to home, and because of the port calls around the North Sea and part of Southern Baltic.
The first port in Faroes was cancelled to everyone’s disappointment, replaced by Invergordon. Which I really enjoyed, to my surprise. Otherwise everything went to plan and we thoroughly enjoyed the mix of other ports, particularly Stavanger and Oslo. ...
