Food was excellent (nice choice and variety). Service has excellent (stateroom stewards were amazing!). Thoroughly enjoyed how close the ship got to Hubbard Glacier. Also enjoyed the other ports of call. The Naturalist on the cruise was also amazing. Saw dolphins, whales, and sea lions from the ship - cool!
DID NOT LIKE WARD’S COVE. Oceania’s parent company, NCL, has their own dock, outside ...
I sailed this month on the Oceania Regatta to Alaska and British Columbia. What an amazing experience! From the moment you arrive at the ship you are treated so well. Our cabin was spacious with a balcony, butler and housekeeper. The staff always had a smile on their faces and greeted us every time they saw us. The food, entertainment and ambiance of the ship surpassed my expectations! The shore ...
We're getting a little tired of the big ships and wanted to finally visit Alaska. Being Florida residents, Alaska is a bit of trip - it was always easier for us to fly to Europe direct from Miami or Orlando, so we never did, until now. There was no way we would cruise Alaska on a behemoth cruise ship, so let's respond the many marketing pieces from Oceania and see what we can see! So here we ...
I booked Oceania mainly due to Tips For Travellers channel recommendation: Gary Bembridge. Oceania has a high crew to passenger ratio so service is very good, we’ll organized and happy crew.
Boarding and cleanliness were also very good.
Passengers were mostly elderly and crew looked after disabilities marvelously though about 10 passengers were clearly too unwell or infirm to travel.
Food ...
We chose Oceania based on their culinary record, service and small size. We have previously cruised on Viking and love their modern ships. R class ships have been beautifully refurbished. We had sailed on Azamara Quest - a similar ship from Renaissance cruises. We joined the last segment of ATW cruise which began in San Francisco on January 2023! While a majority of the ship had been together ...
This was our first experience sailing with Oceania. Overall, it was very enjoyable with a few minor problems I’ll outline later.
Here are the positive points.
Check in was a breeze. We arrived about 2:30pm and were immediately accompanied to the empty immigration and security areas. A few minutes later we boarded and checked in the quiet Insignia Lounge (again zero people waiting) and were ...
Although the ship was full, there were always lots of seats in the observation lounge and around the pool. The only time that you noticed a full ship was sometimes in the buffet restaurant at breakfast time.
We were looking forward to the food on this cruise. Other than fantastic meals in the two (free) specialty restaurants, we were extremely disappointed. The buffet food was often cold and ...
Here is my review of our Regatta 12 day Alaska cruise embarking in Los Angeles on May 18th, 2023. Also some tips about the Ship that I have not read elsewhere on Cruisecritic.
We have sailed several times to Alaska but this was our first voyage with Oceania. Overall we were impressed with the quality of the food and service. Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived at 2PM to no lines whatsoever. ...
We had never cruised Oceania, wanted the small ship experience that Holland America no longer offers, first time Alaska. We booked an owner's suite, there are six of these on this ship. Promised "priority boarding" was a joke, we were treated to a cattle-call through screening and security behind a very large crowd of passengers (75 to 100) before boarding, anyone who felt like it was allowed to ...
WE so desperately wanted to cruise, and Oceania made an offer for this cruise that was too good to pass up. Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze, except for the fact that my car had a window smashed, been burgled and I had to drive 1100 miles with a "crash wrap! The food on the ship was excellent, and I prefer the main dining room to the blah specialty restaurants. The Concierge class ...
