We had not cruised for several years (pandemic and health issues) and were really excited to try a luxury cruise line. All of our previous 20 or so cruises have been with Premium cruise lines. We should have tried a short Oceania cruise before committing to a World Cruise so the fact that we were so disappointed was our fault entirely. On the positive side, the ship size was perfect. We were able ...
NOTE: We were only on the first segment from Miami to San Francisco.
The following review is intended to provide helpful information to those considering cruising on the Oceania Insignia. Please remember that this is only one person’s opinion and may not reflect your view or the opinions of others. I will be providing a grade for each of the ship’s various services along with an explanation of ...
The cruise ship was in for routine maintenance and we were informed the day of embarkation that there was a strike in North Vancouver and the ship would be delayed until 1 PM. They then told us 4:PM. At 4 were told we could go to the terminal to check in, and proceeded to wait until 6:30 PM to check in. Once we arrived on the ship we were told it would not leave until 1:00 AM the next day. On the ...
We had always wanted to go to Alaska - chose 4 days pre cruise in Denali - expensivel rip off for 3 actual hours in park. They dont bother to tell you the Mtn is actually 90 miles away from park..... Restaurants so tightly packed you can barely move......not enough staff - very haphazard service - overworked staff and not very personalized as they see you a couple of hours later and look ...
This was our 5th Oceania cruise, but the 1st one on one of the smaller ships (have always been on Riviera or Marina) -- and we will never travel on the smaller ship again. We understood that the cabins would be smaller, but didn't realize that the bathroom (the shower in particular) would be so tiny that it was almost unworkable. No countertop space, no place to put the clothes you wish to put ...
I have been on six Oceania cruises. The first was June 2009 Rome to Istanbul. We ate in the Grand Dining Room. It was beautiful. The service was great and the food amazing. Just like what one would expect in the finest restaurant around the world. Everyone at our table was a real "foodie" and the topic of conversation fine dining. I loved it! The 2nd was 2012 and there was a big difference with ...
Our penthouse suite (#8000) is spacious and very nice except for one big problem -- we are right below the Card Room, which the ship is using as a playroom for the kids' program. From watching a few kids run around the Card Room, you would never guess how much noise it makes in our suite. We have called each night but the ship management clearly does not care. So maybe you get the nice luxury ...
This was our second cruise on Oceania. First one was fabulous, this one we couldn't wait to get off of the boat. With a few exceptions, mostly poor service in Grand dining room, and in Terrace Café.
The main problem with this cruise were the full size Poodles on board. They were allowed in the restaurant, everywhere on the ship from what we could tell, and they were not well trained. I have a ...
We enjoy cruising Alaska more than any other destination and just completed 9 with this trip. We cruised on the Regatta in June doing a Seattle roundtrip. Embarkation was a breeze and we were onboard within 15 minutes. For the entire trip the lines for very short, it there were lines at all. We wanted to try Oceania as we heard the food was so good. Our first night in the dining room I was ...
We are seasoned cruisers, more than 50 on 7 different lines but this was our first AND LAST on Oceania. The line brags about its food, service and atmosphere. Perhaps one or more of their executive staff should actually board Regatta INCOGNITO and find out what really happens aboard the ship.
Embarkation was quick, easy and was totally different from everything we experienced
aboard Regatta ...
