My husband and I were celebrating a big anniversary, we had never been to Alaska, and we wanted to do something memorable so we decided to go visit this huge state. We began our cruising on Oceania shortly after this cruise line was founded, but we had not sailed with them since the ownership change. We more recently sailed with some luxury category cruise lines on ocean and river but this timing ...
Just an OK cruise with a few disappointments . . . we have sailed on Oceania before, this cruise one of our least favorite. Panama Canal from Miami to San Francisco. We did get to Cuba which was fascinating to say the least. We arranged a private tour for the two of us all day . . . $65/pp. Museums, walks through town and ride in a 57 Chevy convertible. Great guide, provided lots of ...
Our 16 day cruise from Miami to San Francisco spent 88% of the time at sea, not at the destinations Spending $800+ per day on fine dining is not my idea of an enjoyable cruise.
Destination Services were overpriced, poorly conceived and poorly organized.
Cuisine was excellent and service impeccable.
Cabins were small 216 sf and tight Bathrooms even tighter.
We were aboard Regatta, a ...
My wife and I are frequent cruisers and chose this cruise as an alternative to the all inclusive lines where we always are charged for something we don't take part in. We also used this cruise to determine if we wanted to hold or cancel a 45 day trip on this ship next year out of New Zealand & the South Pacific.
Our embarkation in Miami was swift and without incident. Our first port out of ...
We chose this cruise as an end of winter getaway to the lovely Caribbean. Embarkation was efficient and we were on board within minutes. Disembarkation was on time and also efficient.
The ship is old but clean and well maintained. We were offered an upgrade to a higher category which we gladly accepted and paid for, however, we were in a cabin directly above the show lounge which meant no ...
This was my first cruise but definitely not my last. My husband and I picked this cruise in particular because it looked like it wouldn't have any small children running around, as it was after Labor Day and the target demographic seemed to be for those 40 and up. It worked- we were nearly the youngest couple on board. Everyone we spoke to was an Oceania regular or had come from one of the ...
This was our 5th Oceania cruise, but the 1st one on one of the smaller ships (have always been on Riviera or Marina) -- and we will never travel on the smaller ship again. We understood that the cabins would be smaller, but didn't realize that the bathroom (the shower in particular) would be so tiny that it was almost unworkable. No countertop space, no place to put the clothes you wish to put ...
Our first cruise with Oceania, and second cruise overall.
Service was excellent. Lots of nationalities on board and they gave a really welcoming feeling. They also cared about the guests : when my wife got seasick, several asked her, the next day, if she was feeling better.
Catering was also very good, even excellent in the speciality restaurants. Only two remarks :
1) We found the ...
I liked the itinerary--an Alaska cruise, and Oceania has been our go-to cruise line for 10 years. While somewhat expensive, we always enjoy ourselves, given their EXCELLENT quality of food and service all the time. Shore excursions are OK, but overpriced, and their wi-fi is sporadic and very much overpriced if you actually paying for it. Nightly entertainment is OK, but not great, and the ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary. Alaska was on our bucket list. We had cruised with Oceania on the larger Riviera in the Med last November and wanted the same quality experience. We flew into Seattle a day early, staying at the Fairmont - great downtown location. Stayed on in Vancouver for two days after disembarkation. Both embarkation and disembarkation were smooth as silk - ...
