Went on the Oasis with my BFF and had a great time! Our large ocean view balcony cabin was perfect for us! The headliner, Tony Tillman, gave a great performance! We dined at Giovanni's, Chops, and 150 Central Park, as well as ate in the MDR for MTD. All restaurants were excellent! My favorite would have to be 150CP for its mouth-watering beef tenderloin for two! Best meat I have ever tasted, and the very tasty small lobster tail was a nice surprise! My favorite hangout spots are Central Park, Boardwalk, Rising Tide bar, and the solarium! My two favorite classes are Oasis and Freedom, so much so, that my DH and I will be boarding Lady O again in just 2 short weeks!! Port Canaveral is also our favorite embarkation port, as we only live 2 hours away, and there are lots of parking options! Thanks RCCL for continued excellence!! P.S. I will hate seeing the DL on Deck 11 replaced by Wonderland and the DL either being eliminated or moved to the windowless Deck 4! It's just business (I guess). Even so, it won't stop us from cruising with RCCL. By SilkySal Read Less

The ship was fantastic. Lots of activities. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The service was the best I've ever had. I think it was because I had reached Diamond status & the staff treated me like royalty! I was constantly getting champagne, wine, or sweets in my cabin. We had My Time Dining & we kept the same waiters. They were outstanding--spoiled us to death! The only bad thing was our room. We were doing a back to back & the room for our 1st week for your typical inside cabin. Small but certainly manageable for 2 widowed ladies. That room was 11677. The room for this week of our cruise was room 14327 & it was totally unacceptable! The bathroom had a small, very shallow sink that I couldn't even begin to wash my bathing suit in. There were no glass holders, no clothes line in the shower--just 2 hooks. The place that was supposed to be a place for your soap & shampoo to be was not a solid surface so everything placed there would fall through! The closet was a little larger than our 1st room but was only a foot from the bed. We couldn't get to it unless we slid the bed toward the other bed! Even then we couldn't bend down to get to the shoes so I just piled my shoes on the other side of the room in front of the long couch! Why such a super long couch & no room to get in the closet? Horrible room! The entertainment was great! Very enjoyable Headliner Shows. I really liked Cats. It's not a 3 hour show that so many people have said. It was 2 hours & 25 min. I saw it twice. One of the comedians, Nery Saenz was very funny in the Comedy Club & also in the auditorium, but the other one was not. Frozen in Time was very good & so was the Aqua show. Lots of good entertainment. Pools & hot tubs very good. The food in Haiti was not the best. All of the meat was dry. Good entertainment while we were eating there. Typical ports--we didn't do any shore excursions. The Dining Room had good food for the most part. Ate at Chops one night & it was outstanding. Embarkation was very bad. The passengers that had already checked in had to sit on the floor or chairs because they couldn't board the ship yet. We were getting ready to check in but were not allowed to since no one could board & had to stand there for a good 40 minutes. We were told that the Coast Guard had sent only 3 people instead the usual 18 required to clear the ship. All in all it was a good cruise on a great ship. Read Less

When we saw CATS was being performed on this ship, we had to book this cruise. It's been 30 years since we've seen CATS on Broadway and in Toronto, and it was every bit as good on the Oasis of the Seas. We saw it twice! In general, Royal Caribbean spared no expense--great performers, choreography and technical effects--on all the shows onboard. We also especially enjoyed the ice show (with the Russian sand artist) and the aqua show. This was our (two adults, late 60s/early 70s) first cruise with Royal Caribbean and we thank all the Cruise Critic reviewers for their input, especially the information that advance reservations are needed for shows and dining. We had most things arranged three months in advance and are glad we did, at least for the peace of mind knowing we would see/do what we wanted. I've got to say we missed the spontaneity of past cruises, however on Oasis-class ships scheduling ahead is a must. We chose a good time to go--right after the holiday when most school-age children were back in school and not onboard, so we experienced no child-related issues. The only additional-cost specialty dining we reserved was the $20/pp "First Night Done Right" to ensure we would not run late for our first CATS performance. It was our best meal on board--at 150 Central Park (chosen for us), where we had the chateubriand for two and great service. We ate one night at the Solarium Bistro, where food was good but service was lackluster. Our dinners were rounded out by two nights at the American Icon Grill dining room (one night so bad I ate two bites of the mushy "crab" cake, sent my undercooked ravioli back and ordered a salad instead--though service was great) and a few dinners at the Windjammer (most mediocre, however they put on quite an impressive spread the last night). We also ate lunches and breakfasts at Windjammer, lunch at the Dog House (really enjoyed the German sausage) and breakfasts at Johnny Rockets (good, but slow service) and the Park Cafe. We purchased online, before we left, a soft-drinks (with Voom internet--pretty good reception and speed, overall) and two specialty-coffee packages. We sure never went hungry or thirsty (bartenders and restaurants were always willing to provide soda if a machine was not readily available). Pizza, pastries and sandwiches were always available at no additional charge. Service was, in general, excellent. Our steward, servers and all staff we met were pleasant and helpful. We never had to go to Guest Services other than to get extra tip envelopes. Especially impressive was the system used to let passengers into the Windjammer Buffet: if it was busy, a line was formed and we were escorted to a table when it became available. (The line ran smoothly and quickly with staff radioing each other for information--and we did not have to search aimlessly for a table.) We loved the peacefulness and atmosphere of Central Park (our cabin was on the same deck), as well as stopping to enjoy its solo and duo (piano, string) entertainment. Activities, of course, were geared to a more-active, family crowd. For that reason, we booked our one excursion through an off-ship source. Labadee, too, did not offer much over a beach chair and barbecue to us (most activities were pay-for). It was necessary to take the tram to get around Labadee (and a map would have been appreciated, maybe included with the Compass newsletter). We were glad a barbecue was set up in each area. Would we sail an Oasis-class ship again? Absolutely, because it offers entertainment and a visual experience smaller ships cannot. Would we go out of our way to book a smaller Royal Caribbean ship? Probably not, because the food and activities--for us--were no better than other comparable lines. Read Less

We had an excellent cruise. We were a little crowded because I had rented a scooter to get from one end of the ship to the other and the scooter had to remain in the room, at all times, when not in use. An accessible room was not available when we booked, so from now on we will only book accessible rooms, and if none are available, we will pick another itinerary. Our cabin steward was excellent and our waiter was exceptional. We didn't go to any of the $ restaurants since the food in the MDR was good and to our liking. We booked an inside balcony overlooking the Boardwalk and thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony and enjoyed watching all the cruisers wander around the Boardwalk. We could see the Aqua Theater from our balcony and enjoyed watching the shows there. The perks that go along with the inside balcony were a treat. . . . Will be on the Harmony next October and are looking forward to exploring another of the Royal Caribbean ships. Read Less

We chose this ship because of the size, the amenities, the live entertainment and cost. We found the ship to be somewhat crowded but not where you couldn't move. The buffet lines for breakfast and lunch were somewhat long but nothing more than 5 minute wait. There were 6,400 passengers and approx 2,000 crew. We had my-time dining which worked out fine. We just told them we wanted 7:30 everyday and they gave us the same table and same waiter for the entire week. My time is not bad at all, in fact you can tell them what time you wanted. Our waiter, Franky, table 232 deck 3 was great. Went out of his way to make your culinary experience great. We found the food to be above average. We did eat in Giovanni's specialty restaurant because I wanted to taste the octopus. I had it as an appetizer and I can tell you it was as tough as a shoe sole. The room was very loud and honestly, I'll probably never go back. We'll go back to Chops instead. Getting on, if you are not diamond or diamond plus may be time consuming. We are D+ so it only took us 10 minutes. Now getting off the ship is another story. The line for customs os very long and relatively slow. Expect 20-30 minutes to get through. Read Less

Chose this cruise to experience the Oasis class ship. We have tried the Voyager class before and wanted to see what the differences were. The cruise it self was fantastic. We did have some issues with weather, but that is expected in September in the Caribbean. This did impact a couple of the shows (Cats and the Aqua-theatre Comedy show). The only thing we would say is the ship itself was a bit too large for us. It took a while to get anywhere due to the size. That said, the dining was fantastic. Particularly Central Park 150. This was perfect for us, high end, great service and attentive waiters. Our room steward was great and kept our place clean and tidy. The entertainment options were great. Cats and the Aqua-Theatre are the standouts. However, we also had a great time a the comedy club and at the Jazz bar. The Jazz trio were particularly good. We would most likely go again with RCCL. However, maybe a smaller ship next time. Read Less

We were part of a group. The food was awful, but the service was great. I believe the cruise lines are trying to force people to pay for upgraded food. I miss the old days of cruising. I also miss the days where you paid tips to those who deserve it. This overall tipping across the board is not fair and then at the end of the cruise you've got cruise line employees standing around looking for extra tips. We're not made of money! The ship was clean. Not sure about the entertainment. We missed the shows. However, we did see the Aqua show, which was awesome. RCCL needs to up their game with the food. Years ago, we only wanted to go on one cruise line and that was Royal Caribbean. Now, not so much. Chops Grille is far too expensive. We couldn't afford $45pp. The gift shop was pitiful. Not worth the visit. Read Less

Recommended by a previous passenger. The enormous ship is an amazing structure and well fitted out with extraordinary features. The Promenade and Central Park decks were amazing and always encouraged us back for a meal, drink or social engagement or entertainment. The shows were absolutely fantastic. Cats could have been from Broadway and the theatre is one of the best one will experience. The ice-skating and trapeze shows were stupendous. We watched the amazing Aqua show at the rear of the ship twice - it was that good and enthralling. The dining rooms offered terrific restaurant fare and very enjoyable. We did not use the a la carte restaurants. Why pay extra for a meal when the one's paid for in our fare were already excellent menus? The front Soalrium relaxing areas was our favourite swimming/tanning area as against the swimming pool area which catered more for the younger set. We enjoyed watching the surfing/boarding and playing minigolf on the realistic looking putting greens. We never purchased on-shore excursions from the ship as they were very expensive. We had done a fair amount of research before the cruise as to what the ports offered. We hired local taxis or excursions which were very much cheaper and all provided exceptional value for money and some fun. In Jamaica, we took a shuttle bus from Falmouth to Montego Bay and after being dropped at the $6/person beach which was swarming with tourists we walked a further 500m to another local beach and joined the locals for no charge. Great day. The RCI-owned Labidee in Haiti was pleasant but was really joining all the passengers on land for the day. No locals to engage with, just passengers and a few resort-style activities like zip lines. We had booked a jetski excursion but it was cancelled as the sea had got a bit dangerous. Fair enough. The downside was the costs and service charges on everything. The catalogue price is really a down payment on the overall costs. Almost all the staff are from the Phillipines and most likely on a low wage. It is then up to each passenger to pay service charges and tips to help boost their pay packets. Very disingenuous. All costs for alcohol, wifi, photographs, excursions etc are all loaded so as to boost the overall revenue of RCI. Our guess was that we needed to more than double our budget for the cost of the trip and the on-board spending. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had children that went with us. We looked at some videos online and it seemed fun for them. Honestly once you got on there, there was not much to do. Once you have done everything you get kind of bored. For the children’s club they spent most of their time playing Gaga ball. Two of the kids had fun but my one child did not like Gaga ball therefor she did not like kids club so only go there if you like Gaga ball. She was in the 9-11 group. The shows on the ship were fantastic. The food was not too great on many occasions. The staff was very nice but the food was lacking in many areas. The buffet was not as good as on other ships and was very unorganized. Our cabins were very nice. The showers were a bit too small and my father could not fit in them. Once they turned our couch into a bed they did not change it back she we could not watch tv anymore without wanting to lay down. Overall the cruise was okay but it was very expensive, especially the drink package and overall was not what we expected. They raised our expectations a little too high. Overall I would not sod this cruise again and would instead to a smaller, cheaper ship that cost less but still gave the same things. Read Less

Gilman and Ronald the table staff in the Grand dinning room at table 682 are the best I have ever had to wait on me. The presentation and the service of the food were always spot on. We have traveled 5 times with RCCL and were impressed with the service, food and accommodations on this ship. The dining staff at the 3rd deck main restaurant were outstanding as well as the housekeeping staff.. The embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth and well-organized. We were impressed with the Port of Cape Canaveral and nearby Coco Beach where we took advantage of a "snooze and cruise" package, leaving our car at the hotel and they shuttle us to and from the port.. Certainly Port Canaveral is better organized and less congested than the ports in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. One drawback to our cruise is that we were never advised that this cruise was very children oriented with RCCL's special offers of free trips for children under 12 years of age for the Caribbean trips. The staff advised that due to the "family-orientation" of this cruise with special free rates, they had over 600 children on this cruise and near 2000 children the week before. With this many, we felt we were on a floating nursery. As we were looking forward to a more sedate vacation, this will make us more selective on future cruises. The entertainment was very good, especially with the Ice Show, the musical Come Fly with Me and the Water Show. The individual musical groups that played Latin, Caribbean and Dixieland music were outstanding. Read Less

We had a very bad shopping experience in Cozumel Mexico. It was not the fault of RC. This is just a warning to everyone to use extreme caution while shipping and DO NOT shop at the jewelry store Planteria Daniela. It is one of the first jewelry stores you'll come across on the far right side of the shopping center in the newly built area. They claim to be an RC approved store, which they are not. They lie about the quality of their jewelry. We found out the hard way. When we returned home we found the jewelry we purchased wasn't worth even half of what we paid. So be smart and stick to the REAL RC approved stores where they back up your purchase. So much for the negative. Other than a traffic backup at the parking garage and passenger drop off, boarding and leaving the ship was smooth and quick. The port of Canaveral needs to have one entrance directly to the parking garage and one for passenger drop off. What they have now is confusion. Once in the terminal, check in was quick and smooth. We were through check in and sitting down for lunch in less than 30 minutes. We found the food at the Windjammer ranged from awful/cold to good. I hate to say it but the Windjammer food has gone down hill, since our last cruise on the Oasis. On the up side the Windjammer is kept clean, the staff is great and you can find good food most of the time. We found breakfast was the worse, too much cold food. As an alternative try the solarium, Park Cafe and Wipeout cafe. With so many restaurants on the Oasis, you'll find one you like, even without paying for the upscale restaurants. We didn't dine in the main dinning room. But found lots of other places to dine without tying up our time. We like the balcony rooms overlooking the board walk. We enjoy the activity and even the noise. It's all fun, but if you have to have total silence at night, the boardwalk is not for you. Although they were more than 6000 passengers on the Oasis it never seemed crowded. There are plenty of activities and lot's of places to get away for quite time. The bands were all very good, but unfortunately for some reason most dance music didn't start until after 9 PM. It would have been nice to have at least one band playing in the early evening so those with the late dinning could enjoy some entertainment before dinner. Lots of shows on board, but remember to book your reservations prior to sailing. There were some unhappy guest that didn't book early and complained about not being able to see the shows. The crew was super, very friendly and helpful. We find that to be true on all RC ships. Our cabin was on the 10th deck overlooking the boardwalk. We had plenty of storage space and our room attendant was the best ever. Since we had been to all the ports before we decided just to walk around and do some shopping. I do recommend booking with RC if you have never toured before. You will pay a few extra dollars, but it's worth it to be safe. So if you like lots to do, children, good entertainment and lot's of places to dine, the Oasis might be a good choice. Read Less

The Oasis of the Seas was amazing. What made it even better though, was most staff. Very friendly, welcoming staff that do everything in their power to help you and to help give you the best time on your vacation. My vacation will never be forgotten and neither will some of the staff. Both me and my girlfriend, had a great time aboard the ship and are definitely looking forward to booking our next cruise the Royal Caribbean once again. Dining service was fantastic and offered a semi-big selection. Staterooms were always kept clean and the attendant I had was beyond friendly and did a more than a fantastic job. Very pleased with the staff, however there were minor issues with a few elevators (skipped floor 6 all the time, and other times the elevator would skip right past our floor). The food in the windjammer could definitely get better as far as adding more flavor to the food. Pasta was undercooked a lot, and sometimes the food was cold or borderline. Pizza parlor on deck 5 was a amazing add on to the ship, however me and my girlfriend caught them undercooking some pizzas a lot of the time. (We only ate it when it was cooked completely) but it was delicious when we did get it! Read Less

This was a honeymoon cruise for me, My 14 th cruise, my new wife's first. She was thrilled, I was greatly disappointed. This large ship experience was very lacking when compared to any other cruise I had taken On Royal, Carnival or Holland. The staff, especially those around the pool were terrible compared to my past experiences. They did their job but that was about it. The cruise director was not seen the whole cruise. Live music by the pool stunk, and nobody to get the crowd involved in fun like dancing or pool games. Windjammer breakfast was cold. Even the towel animals in the room were not what I was used to. Happily my new wife was impressed as she had never cruised before. It seems that since they are now automatically charging your account for gratuities the staff does not not to please anymore. I will never cruise a large ship again and will probably consider other cruise lines instead of my previous favorite of RCCL. Read Less

My 65th Birthday celebration included my sister and five friends! I use a power wheelchair and had no problems getting on or off the ship! My cabin was completely accessible and I made full use of our private balcony. Dinner was scrumptious! French Onion Soup, steak and the best dark chocolate cake I ever tasted. The staff sang Happy Birthday. Our waiter Norrys was great! He was very attentive and so was Joel the drink server! On our last nightJoel performed magic tricks with napkins and Norrys played the guitar! We booked a different event each nite. I loved the musical Cats. We had facials in the Spa. I sang karaoke and my sister did too! Haiti was great! It was accessible! Lots of places to shop and a buffet for lunch was delicious. Jamaica was paradise! Ken's Wheelchair Tour was wonderful! Komoko Falls was terrific! It was very accessible. Beautiful flowers like Birds of Paradise and Orchids were everywhere. Lots of shops to buy souvenirs but, be careful prices are high. If you show interest but, walk away the price will come down. Kosumel was awesome! A beautiful peninsula with beautiful beaches! Arturo, our taxi driver took us to a wonderful places to shop. Again show interest but, walk away at least once and the price will come down. We ate at a Mexican resturaunt. Delicious food but, watch out for the green hot sauce. Most gringos can't handle it. This was mother/daughter trip to try the BIG ship. I'm 83 but got around the ship pretty well. I did miss being able to take part in the fun outdoor activities. Embarkation was fast enough considering the large number of passengers. Debarkation was worse. Be prepared for long lines. Our cabin was typical of other cruises. See notes below. Great entertainment. Especially Cats and the Comedy Club. Joe Yannetty had me "in stitches". We didn't miss any of the featured shows and enjoyed them all. We did miss having a variety of entertainment in the main showroom. Be sure not to miss the Splish Splash Comedy water show. No reservations required. Some afternoons the Aqua performers rehearsed and that was also interesting to watch. Be sure to make all your show reservations on-line before the cruise. The specialty restaurants Giovannis and Chops were excellent. My Time Dining in the American Grill only twice as there were other venues that we wanted to try. My Time dining can be a little chaotic. And very noisy. Dining room is much better for lunch or breakfast. There is an excellent lunch buffet. We avoided the Windjammer. The ship did not appear "run down" as I've read in other posts. Over-all the noise level was way too high for me. Especially the canned music. The Champagne Bar and Vintages were two places that we found for a quiet before dinner drink. And Schooner Bar was OK at other times. Central Park was very pleasant in the evening. Sometimes quiet live music also. Most of the music that we might have enjoyed was scheduled during dining hours.that was disappointing. The ship did not offer the drink punch card during this cruise. ) : Over all I enjoyed the experience of the Oasis and highly recommend it. But in the future I would choose a smaller ship. Thanks to my daughter for making this trip a wonderful vacation. LABADEE Beautiful beaches. Plenty of loungers on a do-it-yourself basis. Some shade available. BBQ ribs and jerk chicken very tasty. No line if you get there early. Free tram around the area. FALMOUTH Just got off and looked around .Many diamond and watch stores. Plus usual souvenir shops. Margaritaville was very busy. Lots of cruisers enjoying their food and pool. COZUMEL Took a taxi to Paradise Beach. Nice resort. $3 charge. Plenty of lounges with umbrellas. You're obligated to buy food and drinks. Reasonably priced. Margaritas and nachos were great. Very nice pool is also available. For a fee, there were boat rides, parasailing, jet skis, etc. Plenty of taxis waiting to go back to the ship. This was our 7th cruise on Oasis or Allure. Arrived at terminal around 10:30 Emerald Status, was ON ship before noon. Very easy process. Was eating lunch by 12:30. Roast beef sandwiches are still great. Luggage was in room by 2:30. Booked cruise 5 weeks before cruise. Made my time reservations on line for 5:00. Was able make reservations for all shows except comedy and aqua show. As soon as I got on ship made reservations for aqua and comedy shows, nobody in line that early. Later in day there were very long lines. All shows were good. Impact show was different from most shows I have seen. Drums, whips, Argentinean tap dancing, singing, you didn't fall asleep. Cats excellent, but I also believe it was too long. Yes, several people left at intermission as show was 2 1/2 hours or more. Come fly with me had lots of action on and above stage. NEGATIVE COMMENTS THAT I DID NOT AGREE WITH: 1.ship badly worn, stains all over, worn out furniture, Found ship very clean, almost never found trash in halls, you will always see a few stains as people carrying drinks do spill and can't be cleaned immediately. 2. Poor service due to workers being sent to new ships. Dining room wait staff could never be better. Food kept coming with no delays. Water, tea, drinks never made it to half full, constant refilling. Windjammer buffet, food was always at right temperature, tables continually cleaned as fast as you finished a plate. 3.Had cabin 14154 front of ship near kids area and below solarium. People said it would be very noisy, kids running around, noise from solarium, rough ride due to being on front of ship and on deck 14. Found none of those problems, wood book that room again. 4.Other than sea days no problem getting deck chairs. Yes chairs were saved with towels. I put my towels down at 8:00, ate breakfast with no lines and came back to pool by 9:00. Those who got up at 10:00 had to wait in long buffet lines, and yes did find it hard to get chairs close to pool. Most of chair hog chairs were unused while the complainers were sleeping. Chair police came around twice due to a couple of people complaining. One woman told security that she put a scarf and towel down 15 minutes before and someone took her chair. Ten of us were sitting beside and across from that seat for the previous two hours, she had never been to that chair but swore she saved it. Get up a little early for no lines for buffet and a pool seat. 5. Dining room food bad, cold, poor service. Found food always at proper temperature and cooked just the way you ordered it. Met all my requests. Cold soup was only on menu one day. I asked if chef could find some for me even though not on menu and found it every night. House salad was not on menu many nights, but had chef make it any time we asked. No problem getting double lobsters, double lamb chops, double lamb shank, 5 appetizers. Never questioned anything you ordered, and brought to you very quickly. Never rushed.. 6.Cardboard pizza. No, it wasn't your hometown pizza shop, but hey, as a quick snack, it was ok. Toppings changed daily, it was always hot, never sitting around. People fail to mention an antipasto salad bar to the left of pizza line. Very few seemed to even notice it was there. It was a very good side dish with pizza. Disembark was smooth until after getting luggage. As usual not enough customs workers. Super Service, Food better than last cruise. Labadee & Falmouth are both getting a bit "old"in terms of destinations. Cozumel was nice. Highly recommend Chaakenaab Park in Cozumel. Ship is in pretty good shape except for carpeting and drapes - need replacing (planned for drydock in October). Service seemed noticeably better - with everyone we engaged being friendly and looking to go the extra mile for help and smiling services. Food was also improved, especially in the main dining room. First time porting in Port Canaveral. We have to say that the speed and efficiency at that location was as good as any place we've embarked before. The Cortrans shuttle back to the Orlando airport was on time and well done. All in all, Royal Caribbean did their part well, and our 2nd time on Oasis was at least as good (if not slightly better) than the first. All of us had a nice time, and the Spring Break crowd was hardly noticeable. Read Less

We are becoming very loyal RC cruisers, this was our third. The Oasis is a beautiful ship loaded with everything needed for a great vacation. Our room was comfortable (interior), kept neat & clean by an attendant who not only managed our room nicely, created novelty towel creations, was very personalable;it was very nice to be greeted by our names when we saw him in the hallway. The food & service in the main dining room was, as always, excellent! It was very nice to have a few smaller restaurants for breakfast & lunch... we enjoyed the park cafe in the Central Park area, really enjoyed having lunch in the park. The entertainment was very good, the diving show, the high flying show, & El Gaucho were exceptional! It was good to see staff making sure that the chaise lounges rules were being followed so that towels vacant chairs were removed after 30 min of vacancy. Departure was a see less procedure, it took us a total of 35 min to carry out our bags, go thru customs, find our shuttle & arrive at our car... best departure we’ve had so far. Based on our trip, we booked our next cruise while still on ship. Read Less

I chose this cruise because I was curious to see how is the world largest ship can sail the seas. After I saw it , it’s definitely a magnificent ship. But it wasn’t planned better then this ,I found it had lots of obstacles.like you have to look for the bathroom for a while before you get to it,and some of the bathrooms the ladies bathroom on one side the men’s bathroom is on the opposite side around the corner which I found is a little strange. The amount of people was to much to you have to wait inline for coffee, the buffet, the washrooms and try to find a lounge chair around the pool ! I found the staff is little pushy. The buffet didn’t have a variety of foods,it’s always the same and it looked poor, and the food was mediocre at best . A ship with this kind of magnitude they were cheap on the furniture, like our mattress was old and you could see the indentation in it ,we had a restless sleep. I mean it was beautiful to see a ship that magnificent, but everything else didn’t fit with the magnitude of the ship . Of course that’s my personal opinion,I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon on the Royal Caribbean oasis of the seas. Read Less

Ship can be too long to keep walking here and there... but our cabin was too far forward! The ship had the best entertainment, it is all awesome! Last minute booking so price would be cheaper, so it was a cabin I wouldn't haven't chosen. And the wind can be a problem when sailing... Windjammer was a little small for whole ship. But there are other small venues. Like the pizza shop with great personal size pizza, to compare with Italy. "Cats" was inspiring, Aqua show awesome... Ice show real great; could see again. And couple very funny comedians at dedicated comedy club! The food was very good, with lobster one night. But in the end our favorite spot was in Central Park! The roast beef sandwich is worth checking out right away at Cafe! I will go back soon, when price is right and I have a person who would go with me. Read Less

We've sailed Oasis in the past as well as other RCI ships. The quality of service has been very consistent over the years. Generally, they do it all right! The shows are outstanding and varied for all interests. The only negative we found was a little drop off in main dining room service; not quite up to past standards. We've stopped at Labadee, Falmouth & Cozumel several times in the past and will probably choose a different itinerary in the future. Our cabin overlooked an enjoyable view of Central Park and was one deck below deck 15 activities. We chose a forward stateroom to be close to stairs and elevators and found it very convenient. The Solarium was close by and offered a great spot for lunch and daytime leisure. One of the biggest challenges on a large ship is location. You cannot be near everything so you have to make a choice that best fits your needs. 14185 did it for us. We will sail Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

We had an amazing vacation on the Oasis and while in the future, we would prefer to return to Holland America, we would sail on Oasis again. We spent two days in Cocoa Beach staying at the Residence Inn prior to our cruise. We loved the hotel and enjoyed exploring. We did have some issues returning our rental car at Hertz due to the office closing early without notification, however the office took care of it competently after a nerve wracking night. We enjoyed motorized paddleboats/ kayaking, mini golfing, and sightseeing while in Cocoa Beach. We also had a great key lime pie from the Key Lime Pie company. Embarcation was very stressful and our biggest complaint with the cruise. Staff at the port would not allow us to stay with my handicapped parents through the security line. We were told we could meet them on the other side of security. After waiting in line, we went through security. My parents were nowhere to be seen. They would not allow us to linger in the security area and were told that they had already gone ahead. We progressed to the boarding area, asking multiple times about my parents. We were told they had already boarded the ship. We insisted they would not have boarded without us and asked them to check that their cards had been scanned in. They refused and told us we needed to continue on to the ship. We refused and my husband went back to look for them. He was told he would need to go through security again. At this point 30 minutes had passed. Just before he left the boarding room, he met up with them arriving in the boarding room. They had just left security. Security had put my 80 and 90 year old parents through hell, including searches, removing all labeled medications, etc from their bags, and accusing them of hiding a bomb in their nebulizer which had an md script attached to it. Stressed and exhausted, we finally boarded the ship. We were delayed in boarding at this point, so we decided to go to the Solarium for lunch. We were able to get a table for 6 and the adults enjoyed the lunch. Our two children did not so we did not return. We spent the remainder of the afternoon exploring the ship, swimming, registering the kids for teen club, and unpacking 5 of 6 suitcases. The 6th suitcase was finally found by my husband at 7:30 that night sitting in a hallway on deck 6. We ate dinner in the Main Dining Room that night and met our great servers: IMade and Maryna. They were both wonderful and we ended up cancelling other reservations to eat there every night but one, We loved the meals, although we did get a little bored with broccoli and carrots. The one other night, we ate at Giovanni's. We had a complimentary meal from our travel agent. Great food and the only night we over ate. They said lasagna is now available every night even though it is not on the menu. This was another challenge with seniors. They could not see or hear anything in the restaurants, it was too dark and loud. Breakfasts and lunches at Sabor, Johnny Rockets, and the Windjammer were all fine as long as we ate early. Later in the day, crowds and lines would build and tables for 6 were a challenge. We enjoyed all the entertainment. Our showing of Oasis of Dreams was cancelled and the rescheduled time was during dinner. We made dinner without trouble however, as we saw a shortened show. We were able to see the full version later in the week and it was amazing. My favorite was the skating show. It is amazing that they can do that on ice. We spent many nights in the Jazz club and piano bar. The pools were chilly all week but still crowded on the warmer of the 2 sea days. There was always room in a hot tub. Even going up to the pool deck at 9:30 on the sea, it was impossible to find loungers together. Our teens made friends their first night at Teen club. There were over 1000 teens on the cruise. My two children were upset they divided teen club into two groups. My 15 year old daughter would meet friends outside of the teen club. My 13 year old son, ended up going to teen club multiple times, participating in activities and playing video games. In Labadee, we rented a bungalow. We really enjoyed it. In Falmouth, we walked around the port and shopped and then reboarded the ship. In Cozumel, we went on a great private excursion with Cozumel Cruise Excursions.net. We had a great day and saw a good portion of the islands without crowds. Disembarcation was better than embarcation, however we were again separated from my parents at the the elevators. They again would not allow us to gather to meet at the base of the elevators. This time, my husband insisted on going with my parents and we reconnected by calling on our cell phones. We concluded our vacation with a great Royal Caribbean tour to Kennedy Space Center and airport drop-off. We had a very early departure time, but then sat on the bus for an hour waiting to leave. The tour was great and we made it to the airport on time. MCO is a mess at the ticketing area right now. Overall, we had a great time, but it is a big ship for seniors with difficulty on the elevators for someone in a wheelchair. Read Less

I generally look to book on one of the Oasis class ships because of the amenities and the Coastal Kitchen experience. The staff and crew were wonderful, the food as good as I've ever had, and the Loft Suite I booked exceeded all expectations. Being a frequent cruiser, I only left the ship briefly in Jamaica and Cozumel, choosing to spend the bulk of the time in port enjoying the quiet of an almost empty ship. Although the ship has almost 10 years on her, there's little sign of wear and tear. Oasis has certainly aged gracefully and the staff and crew have only gotten better over the years. The Port Canaveral terminal is modern, clean, and the staff at check in, efficient and quite pleasant. I ate 5 of the nights in one of the speciality restaurants and two in Coastal Kitchen. The food and the service for the most part, wonderful. If I could complain about anything, it would be the long lines at guest services. There were always delays getting to a service person. We have been on an Oasis back to back cruise before and decided that we'll take a one week cruise on the Oasis again while we're in Florida. The ship is beautiful and the service is great too. Having been on many RCCL cruises, we found that the food was better than most of the cruises we've been on. You never felt crowded at the buffet or when looking for a chaise lounge. If there is one complaint it is the shows. Although I tried to book a night for the comedy show several weeks prior to our cruise, it was filled. After we got on the ship we also were not able to get to see the comedy show. The broadway production of "CATS" was OK but too long. It lasted over 2 hours. The costumes and set design for the show were superb. "Come Fly with me" was our favorite show - very entertaining. All in all, the performers for all the shows were very talented. Read Less
