Friends encouraged us to try Oasis. Despite what people say, this ship is very big and crowded! Lines for everything, disembarking at various ports , especially Nassau, was a disaster - essentially a mob scene - all that was missing were a few burning cars !! Service was good , but very impersonal. The staff was trying , but I sensed they were overwhelmed. Food was mediocre at best! On the plus side , the entertainment was excellent. It was a shame that half the audience left Cats at intermission. The cast was excellent . I guess the drink package was more important! Shore excursion in St Martin was excellent. We did the Royal food tour . Other excursions were very average. If you are traveling with children and don’t mind crowds and need lot of stimulation then Oasis is for you . If you are looking for a relaxing cruise , look to the smaller ships - Radiance class. Read Less

Just returned from Oasis - Eastern route - after taking Western one year ago. This year's experience was even better than last year because of a much better dining experience. Last year, My Time Dining was a disappointment overall. This year we chose early dining and our server Vaibhav and asst Claire at table 564 in Grand DR were outstanding. The American Icon for breakfast and lunch was always impressive. Windjammer was chaotic at times but well managed. We even tried Johnny Rockets for a fun lunch but opted not to try other optional restaurants. Arrival at Port Canaveral was again the most organized port we've ever experienced - kudos to all the helpful staff there. We chose a Boardwalk balcony - 10329 and it proved to be spectacular- offering both views of the ocean along with the Aqua Theater events. Highly recommended especially if you like an aft view. Once again the entertainment was very enjoyable everywhere except we avoided Cats after being disappointed last year. This massive ship offers such a variety of acts and venues. Glad to see that smoking is being very restricted. Crazy ridiculous drink prices are very evident even with highly promoted packages. Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten were good stops that still displayed the horrific hurricane damage from 2017. They're still trying to recover especially in St. Maarten. Disembarkation was organized considering well over 6000 pax. We opted to self-disembark. Overall a great experience despite such a large ship. Anxious to see what the Oasis two month refurb this fall will have to offer. Read Less

We have wanted to cruise on one of the Oasis class ships far some time and thankfully final did. What a great ship. Yes there are 6000 guests on board however with only one exception, we didn't experience any long lines. The exception of course was the windjammer buffet. They hold you up at the entrance so they can locate a seat for you which is a good idea. Other wise there would be tons of people bumping into one another trying to find a seat. Just too many people and totally unnecessary. We instead ate breakfast at the Central Park Cafe'. No lines quiet, enjoyable and the food was good. If you want to go to a buffet and load your plate to the ceiling with food you probably wont eat cause it's free, the Park cafe might not be for you. There is no charge, however there aren't 10,000 items to choose from. Specialty dining was simply awesome. I would highly recommend it. Main dining room was OK but we preferred the specialty restaurants. We found the solarium cafe' to be in between the main dining room and specialty restaurants as far as food quality. You will need to make reservations in advance but it is also free. Loved the shows. By the way, RESERVE YOUR SEATS FOR THE SHOWS prior to sailing. Drink prices have gone way up sense we last cruised on Royal three years ago. The drink package might be for you if you plan on drinking five or more drinks per day. Keep your eyes open prior to sailing for deals on the drink package. Day 5 they offered several drink deals. We took advantage of the 10 drinks for $79 card. After gratuity it was close to $100. You save around $35 bucks depending on what you are drinking. Only thing I don't like about RCCL is the day strip on the floor in the elevators. I don't want to be reminded every time I get in the elevator what day it is and how little time we have left. LOL Read Less

We are experinced cruisers with over 100 ocean cruise and 5 river cruises all on different lines. We booked this b2b a year prior to departure which was a great value off the price of balcony cabin and all the TA amenities included. Our fare average 55.20/pp/per day with Diamond lounge drinks. 4 specially dinners, 2 bottles of wine, pre paid gratuities, prepaid soda package and ended up with still 500 OBC that we cash out. Yes for the value the ship was fine. But some negatives exist as stated in other reviews. Ships infrastructure is beginning to show its age. Staff overworked. More nickels and dimes. Gym equipment has no TV and many units did not work. Food average at best. Little variety day to day. Sheets did not fit the bed. Dinig service is fair at best. Embarkation was over 3 hours due to health inspection. Turn around day took to 1 pm. Lunch was a joke. 3 shows stopped due to techincal problems Just to many other lines offer more with more fare price. Probably last time on RCL. Read Less

2nd sailing on the Oasis. First time was an excellent experience. This time was a let down. Food was not great. Selections were poor so was stuck eating the same meal over and over. I thought central park made sandwiches to order last cruise, but this cruise was premade sandwiches that they heated up. Too bad if you didn't like all the ingredients or have allergies. Windjammer had more choices but much if the food was ethnic and/or too spicy. Usually like to eat in main dining room but was not excited by the menu or all. At dinner in solarium bistro 3 nights because the had a couple choices we knew we could eat. Overall service was hit or miss. We had some very good experiences, many that were just adequate and some who were down right rude. Many of the shows were the same as the previous cruise except the headliner and comedy shows which were excellent. Many of the activities were either geared toward children or required an extra purchase or were just there to try to sell something. There was very little free activities for mobility challenged or disabled senior cruisers. We still had a great cruise as we make our own good time, but I would choose a different ship next time. We did a back to back Nov 25 - Dec 2 and Dec 2 - Dec 9. The ship is very big and it was our first time on a mega ship we have always cruised on the smaller ones. We are Diamond Plus and we loved the Diamond lounge. We found the promenade to be like a shopping mall and just not our thing. The evening activities we great there. attended all the shows and really enjoyed them a lot. Ate in the dining room every evening food was good, and servers were excellent. Ate mainly in the Windjammer for breakfast and lunch crowded but never a bad issue there. We tried the Solarium for breakfast one morning and it was full of children and could not find a seat. Had to wait for plates and flatware. We always have a great time cruising what's not to enjoy! We have already booked for April, however it will be on a smaller ship Vision of the Seas. ** One note we were re-boarding on the second cruise, they walk you down to customs and back on board easy easy easy. However, my husband fell just as we were getting back on and cut his chin open and bruised his face. The staff really didn't do much to help me with him and told me where medical was. I took him to deck 2 and the nurse cleaned up his wounds and put a butterfly band-aid on his chin. I filled out all kinds of paper work, and my point to this long note is NOT Once did we get a call asking how he was. This is the disappointing part of my review. I realize the first day they are trying to board 6,000 passengers but after that they could have called. Read Less

We decided to do a neighborhood cruise from The Villages, FL. on the beautiful Oasis taking the Eastern Caribbean itinerary. This was our 4th cruise on the Oasis and it was good to be back on her. Final call had a total of 49 cruiser's heading out for 7 days of fun and over indulgence with the many food choices available. The Oasis class ship is our ship of choice with the many venues available any day of the week. Because we had been to all the usual ports many times we chose to stay on board during Port days and enjoyed the solitude available in all the hot tubs and pools and also the non busy eating places that were open. Entertainment was provided by cutthroat games of Sequence to burn up the calories. Embarkation was a nightmare as customs didn't clear the ship for boarding until almost noon thereby guarantying huge winding lines where you visited your neighbor many times over as we weaved our way thru. But finally they cleared the ship for boarding and we were ready for our adventure. We had a basic ocean view balcony that sufficed for the occasion but after being spoiled in suites a few times lately it's never the same. But we were on a cruise so we sucked it up and enjoyed what we had. We ate in the Main Dining room table # 836 @ 5:30 every night and we have never had better service in 20+ cruises with Tejas and Ming Ming bending over backwards to accomodate our every need The basic shows that we've also seen many times were good but "Come Fly With Me" needs to be replaced as it's served it's useful purpose. Aqua Theatre and ice skating show are always entertaining. Sadly the departure date arrived and once again our vaunted Customs Agents delayed everything as in the beginning they had 2 agents to serve 6,000 passengers. It's a shame that in some peoples eyes they blame RCCL for these messes with embark/disembark problems which were not of any of their doing. On the bus ride home our group of 49 all agreed it was a wonderful cruise and everyone had a grand time. You can't ask for a better rating than that. Read Less

We are Diamond Plus members and have done many cruises on Royal. Has been pretty good in the past but this time we had way too many small kids everywhere. the adults only solarium contains a "pool" which is nothing more than a glorified hot tub and had sunscreen floating on top of the water. Disgusting. Apparently had 3rd and 4th passenger free during that two weeks period. Worst we had ever experienced. Kids everywhere. The second week we had the best waiter we had ever had on a cruise and the assistant waiter was also very attentive. The champagne brunch and kitchen tour was interesting although we had had better tours of the kitchen area on other smaller ships. The brunch that followed however was terrific. All the champagne and mimosas you could drink. Go our money's worth for sure. We are Diamond Plus members so we get reserved seats for the show and priority embarkation among other perks including free drinks daily. Read Less

A relaxing seven-day trip! Our trip began in Tallahassee on October 6th as we drove to Gainesville to attend the Florida/LSU football game (what a game!). After the game we drove to Orlando and stayed at the Marriott Fairfield inn near the Orlando airport (a 45-minute drive to the port). We arrived at the port around 11:00 am and, for the convenience, we parked in the port garage - $136 for the week. Security and Check-in were efficient and within 15 minutes we were in the waiting area to board the ship. We were in the waiting area about 15 minutes and were in the Windjammer having lunch by 12:00 noon. As always, the paella was excellent! This was our fourth cruise on the Oasis class ships and our second on the Oasis of the Seas. The Oasis of the Seas is a beautiful ship and was clean and well maintained, although the ship is beginning to show wear on the carpets and furniture and on the pool deck. Since this was fall break for several southeastern states, there were a lot of families and kids on this cruise. We stayed in cabin 10209, a veranda room overlooking Central Park. As part of the package for staying in a veranda room overlooking Central Park, we received a complimentary bottle of wine and a lunch in Giovanni’s. The lunch at Giovanni’s was excellent. The room was well maintained and outstanding service was provided by our Cabin Attendant (Debra Jack)! The only minor issues we had were that our luggage arrived after dinner and our safe would not open the first evening; we called to have this remedied and they addressed the issue within 20 minutes. In the past, I have been critical of the food in the Main Dinning Room, but this time we found the food to be very good. The menus provided many desirable options. To increase efficiency, the bread is now in bowls on the table (not served to you) and when you place your order you select all courses, including dessert. Steven (waiter) and Alexander (asst. waiter) provided outstanding service. While the first couple of nights we were the only people at a table of six, two ladies joined us at the table later in the week. The highlight of our dining experience in the main dining room was the food and great conversation with our table mates. We did elect to purchase a speciality dinning package (three dinners for $85 plus gratuities per person). Two dinners at the Chops Grill were excellent (great food and service). The third night we went to Sabor and the food was very good, especially the guacamole. The entertainment on the ship was very good. Our favorite shows were the Headliner Show featuring Earl Turner, the aerial show - Come Fly With Me, the aqua show - Oasis of Dreams, and the ice show - Frozen in Time. The Cats production show was disappointing as it was hard to follow and the too-loud background music made it hard to understand the singers. Also disappointing was the sports channels that were offered on the ship, especially on Saturday when only two college football games were shown. Both ESPN channels featured European sports. Since most of the people on the ship were from the southeastern states, a lot of people were disappointed that no SEC football games were available Below are a few of the things that we enjoyed the most and a few tips to use on the ship: Favorite sweets: coconut cookies, oatmeal cookies, carrot cake, and the Austrian fruit breakfast bread. Favorite places to enjoy the pool or escape the crowd to read or take a nap: on Deck 17 in the Solarium near the bar under the shade. Favorite way to start the day: On the treadmill in the gym as the sun comes up or on the walking track on Deck 5. We also enjoy sitting in the chairs on the back of the ship on Deck 5 when the ship is leaving port. Beverage Package: We purchased the soda package. The self-serve Coke machines provide endless drink options and the machines are located in the Windjammer (four), two on the Promenade, and a single machine on Deck 15 in the Arcade. Many passengers do not know about the machine on Deck 15, unless you go into the Arcade. Best way to avoid the wait for elevators before dinner: Either take the stairs or come down early for dinner and have a drink in the many bars or food areas on Deck 5. Read Less

This was our third time on Oasis of the Seas. Just the two of us in a Central Park balcony stateroom. Plenty big and the bed was very comfortable. We brought our Pride GoGo folding scooters with us but didn't use them for the cruise. Lots of room for storing them in our cabin beside the couch. Just needed them the week after while we were at Disney World. Our stateroom attendant, Humlyn was amazing. She kept our cabin clean, well stocked with towels and other essentials and most of all, she was so friendly and always smiling. Royal Caribbean gave us a few unexpected perks for staying in a Central Park cabin such as a bottle of red wine, chocolate strawberries and a complimentary lunch at Giovanni's. Nice touch Guest Services! Enjoyed "First Night Done Right" at Chops Grill. Well worth the bargain price of $20 each. Service was amazing and special thanks to our waiter Andrew who took such good care of us. We enjoy sitting on deck 16 in the Solarium because of the shade and the quiet atmosphere away from the crowds. Never had a problem finding a chair or lounge and the hot tubs and pool were enjoyed thoroughly by us through the week. We found the food to be excellent in both the American Icon dining room, the Park Café, Windjammers and the specialty restaurants. If the menu was not to our liking in the dining room, then we ate a few evenings in the Windjammer. Service was excellent and the staff really go out of their way to make sure you have beverages by delivering them to you instead of you having to leave the table to get them. That was a service much appreciated. We had a table for 2 in the American Icon dining room (my time dining) and so happy to be at table 135 because of our amazing head waiter Mario and his assistant Arvin. Treated us like royalty and they worked hard and service was fast. Lobster night was great and delicious. Of course we enjoyed the Royal Promenade with all the entertainment, shops and yes... food counters. Royal Caribbean has such great staff who always smile and make your vacation so special. The ship is starting to show her age but she is clean and you appreciate how hard everyone works. We are Diamond class and did enjoy the Diamond Lounge. Only wish I had was that the drinks would be available maybe an hour later than 8:00 pm and that mocktails would be included since I don't drink liquor or beer. I just had Diet Cokes for the week. Please remember that all cruise ships have good and bad issues so you should always keep an open mind when booking a cruise but certainly don't be afraid to book the Oasis or similar Royal Caribbean ships. You won't be disappointed. Hope this review is helpful. Read Less

We picked this ship because it is really large. With our Star Class, getting on and off the boat was always easy. Our Genie took care of us so we waited very little. The ship has lots to do, is clean and absolutely beautiful. Our cabin was a suite. There are 2 suites bigger than ours but they don't sleep but 4 or 6. Ours sleeps 8 and was spacious. The views were great, the balcony was amazing and the service was above and beyond my expectations. Being Star Class definitely made us feel like Royalty! Your personal Genie caters to your every need. I had 4 fourteen year old boys and they had a blast. Plenty for them to do socially and they love sports. They were occupied at all times and I always felt they were safe and supervised. They loved the 24 hour room service! The entertainment was awesome. We saw Cats, the Aqua theater water show, the ice skating show, the comedy show and all of the bands and singers. We missed some shows, just ran out of time. All of the shows and bands were great! Some of our group did other events and loved them all. My husband played poker and gave it a big thumbs up. The staff at all levels are very accommodating and kind. They work hard and seem to be happy to serve. The food was delicious and we ate way too much! The shore excursions were typical. Ours was not described accurately for St. Thomas (said 2 beaches but was only 1 and rushed). It was snorkeling too and not many fish. Nassau at Atlantis is crowded and the rain closed it for a bit. But there is a beach and it has jet skis for rent and other water activities. St. Maarten was our best! Sea Trek and they threw in some snorkeling. We saw lots of fish there. Then we found a Zip line on our own afterwards that Royal Caribbean does not sell and it was the best of all. It was a zip line plus you could ride an inner tube down the mountain. Just need more time at all the stops. Typical for a cruise but there is always a rush and of course, lots of people. But everyone was friendly and we always felt safe. Bring cash off ship for extras! Jet skis Etc want cash. Read Less

We had been on Allure a few years ago and loved it, so we wanted to try the sister ship, Oasis. I would still rate Allure a bit better as far as the food that was offered, but most of our meals were very good. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly, especially since we had everything done online ahead of time. We also had booked all our entertainment ahead of time and made sure our friends were on the same schedule with us. We enjoyed the "my time" dining since it was nice to be flexible and not have to stop enjoying the pool and jacuzzi to get ready for dinner at a specific time. All the shows were spectacular! We loved the Las Vegas Tenors and my personal favorite is the diving show in the aqua theater. We found that if we got to each show about 20-30 minutes early we were able to get the seats we wanted. Since there is so much to do, we never felt like we were on such a gigantic ship. I knew I wanted to try the zip line since I had not done it on Allure, and my only regret is that I waited until the last day to do it! It was great and I would suggest you try it on the first sea day so you can go on it again. I was in search of the wonderful omelets and crepes I had remembered on Allure, but never found them. (someone told me you had to pay extra for omelets? not OK!) When we slept in and wanted a simple breakfast we would go to the Cafe Promenade at Central Park. It's not an extra charge and we liked being able to eat out among the trees. The children's pools were so fantastic it made me want to bring my grandkids next time. Overall, it was a great cruise! We like so much the service and attention from all in the ship that we already booked 2 more cruises. We are looking for 1 or 2 cruises a year. Please be sure to let them know how much their services are appreciated. I was planning to take a lazy week at sea (3 cruising days) to rest from the toils of work. Well, I was wrong. Our family is fortunate because we reside only 30-minutes from Port Canaveral. We enjoy the PASSENGERS on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, in addition to the ships, itinerary, food and entertainment. We are now all Diamond-Plus Members of Royal Caribbean’s Crown and Anchor Society. Stateroom: We stayed in a marvelous Grand Suite in deck 11 near the Diamond Lounge. The room size is 371 sq. ft. with a 105 sq. ft. balcony. The bathroom is spacious, has a tub, two sinks and lots of storage. Our stateroom attendant provided the "invisible service" we appreciate: place the "Make UP Room" sign on the door when leaving for meals and the room is clean when we return. The internet package for the entire cruise is also a nice feature and comes free with a Grand Suite. Coastal Kitchen and Suite Lounge: We were interested in experiencing the additional benefits of Grand Suites and above (Sky Class) by having breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Coastal Kitchen and drinks in the Suite Lounge next door. Service is superb and quality of the food excels many of the specialty restaurants. The filet of beef, served on the first night of the cruise, is superb!! Select beer, wine and champagne is available from 11:30 am until 11:00 pm. Mixed drinks are available from 4:30pm until 8:00pm each night. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Coastal Kitchen is even open for breakfast on debarkation morning. Reservations are required for dinner, so I recommend making your reservations early when you come on board before the most popular times are taken. Entertainment: We made reservation for the spectacular entertainment well before boarding the ship. Oasis can’t have 6,500 passengers attending the same show at the same time. We reserved Frozen in Time, Oasis of Dreams, the Headliner Showtime, and Come Fly with Me. Sky Class guests get reserved seating at each theater. Shore Excursions: Our only shore excursion was on Labadee’s Barefoot Beach for Sky Class guests and cabana rentals. We received an upscale lunch and a terrific day at a tropical beach. An additional Grand Suite perk was that a separate golf cart type transportation was available (which is nice if the weather is hot or guests have trouble walking). The pick-up spot is just past the information booth and there is an attendant with a walkie-talkie to call the driver. This is not the same service as the other regular guest pick-up carts (which don’t stop at Barefoot Beach). Debarkation: The Concierge service escorted Sky Suites and above off the ship with no queuing. It just took our family 10-minutes from the time we left the Champagne Bar, departed the ship, picked-up our luggage, completed the Customs check and exited Cruise Terminal 1 to our car. WOW! I wanted a cruise to celebrate my retirement for 2018. We booked the cruise early to get a nice room. Once we booked, we anticipated a very good time. Upon arrival, the lines were long to get into the check-in area. Once we got to our room, we unpacked and got started on the activities. The room itself was good however, there was a strong urine/sewer gas smell in the bathroom. Our attendant poured bleach in the drains but the smell returned. Other than the one issue, the room was satisfactory. The ship has four pools and one adult pool. One pool was for children and had activities for the children. We had the beverage package but the strawberry daquiri and margarita did not taste good, so I drank wine during the trip. We did not get off the boat for St. Marteen or San Juan (rain) but did enjoy the Haiti trip. Otherwise, the ship does have a lot to offer. Read Less

Main Observations of the Cruise: * On and off this ship was the smoothest of any cruise we have been on. * All of the shows (except CATS) were great with the Comedy Club & the theater comedy show being the best. * Standard dining the Windjammer and Solarium Cafe were the winners with lots of choices. The Main Dinning room was good but not worth the wait with My Time Dining. * Optional dinning we tried the Sabor and though the service was great, the menu really needs to be a little more Tex Mex style. The contemporary menu they use is just not very tasty for a $20 each service charge. * All the ports were easy off and on: San Juan was a lot of fun just shopping downtown. The ship only stayed for half a day and required us back on the ship before 1:30 pm. We really felt that this was not nearly enough time. Sint Maarten was as beautiful as ever however only about 40% of the businesses are open after the hurricane damage. Labadee is the ultimate beach getaway for the day and shows no damage from the fall weather. The overall experience was the ship was beautiful and fun with a variety of things do do if you choose. We used this cruise as a relaxing vacation for a couple in their 60's that wanted some options. I would absolutely do it again! Read Less

Oh, Royal Caribbean. We hardly knew thee… I’m writing this on the flight home, so the last week aboard Oasis of the Seas is still fresh in my mind. I don’t want to forget anything. First, the good. The ship is easy to understand once the “neighborhood” concept sinks in. And, the neighborhood thing was cool. We loved Central Park especially – on calm days it really did seem to be a city park, complete with storefront restaurants, a little bar and plenty of seats among the lush, and live, vegetation. Boardwalk was also a great place to grab a hot dog, a cup of ice cream, a drink or a ride on the merry-go-round. We saw a couple of movies under the stars, watched the water show (excellent) and had one of the wait staff try to explain the cricket game…match…on TV while we were dipping chips into amazing guacamole at Sabor. We spent a couple of wonderful afternoons in the elegant English Pub, which has an interesting selection of beers. The second one, our server Micki was an absolute delight, talking to us about the differences between her native China, Japan and Korea. She could have not been more engaging or friendly. The cabin attendant seemed to be at our cabin every time we returned – tidying up, laying out the next day’s Compass, creating another adorable towel animal. He was invariably good humored, greeted us by name every time and responded to every request we had. The room was always spotless. We had a fantastic meal at 150 Central Park – me fork tender short ribs and her a delicious red snapper. Her martini was created table side, a very elegant touch. The sushi and rolls at Izumi were fantastic, the server a delight. Our sail away meal at the American Icon Main Dining Room was awesome, the table 313 crew friendly and efficient. We would gladly have eaten in their section every night. Alas... Back in the day – a few short years ago, in fact – we made all of our “My Time” reservations on line. This was our third RCI cruise. However, after booking our cruise in January 2017 I could find no way to accomplish this simple task. No problem, we’ll do it live. Except the staff taking reservations on the phone were abrupt, condescending and unhelpful. Not only could we not reserve our table for the rest of the cruise, we couldn’t get a reservation for anything other than that evening. At eight. Invariably at eight. Three nights in a row, even though we called at 0906, six minutes after reservations opened. “We have a show at eight-thirty.” “Eight.” We were invited to stand in line and wait. It may have been an example of biting off our noses… But, we never returned to the MDR. For goodness sake we ate dinner in the Windjammer two nights, where the passengers behaved like sharks in a feeding frenzy but the wait staff were exceptionally friendly. And the little chocolate cupcakes – I would follow that pastry chef anywhere. I’m still trying to figure out what three cruises, nineteen RCI points, bought us. We waited in the two-hour line to board and encountered an RCI special – awful people at the security checkpoint. Curt, snappish and one even took my gear from one bin and transferred it unnecessarily to another, which resulted in stuff going everywhere. “You need to have your passports open!” barked the officious little man, apropos to no notice anywhere. No member coupons in the cabin or welcome note, no “Great job” cards to give deserving crew. Nada. And… I’m sure it’s a licensing thing, but NO WINTER OLYMPICS?! We saw three shows, all of which were well done and energetically performed. Okay, I’ve never been a Cats fan…but the young lady who sang “Memory” could really bring it, and the other cast members truly gave it up. Come Fly With Me was worth every second of our time – those kids can sing! The ice show we would have been happy to pay serious money to see. Everyone, that is, the entire ensemble, could skate lights out. The diving show was postponed several times because of high winds and an unsettled sea. Unsettled… That great big boat was all over the place. We caught their warm-ups, and SRO’d a show. It was breathtaking. Our cabin lacked some of the amenities with which we’d grown accustomed – real wine glasses, an ice bucket and bathrobes. The wet bar menu was missing (and the small refrigerator empty), which a request would probably have rectified, but why should we have to ask? Room service carries a fee and automatic gratuity. I mean…eight and a half bucks to deliver a grilled cheese sandwich? And… Cruise Critic asks us not to use profanity, so I’ll just leave this here. The person who was constantly smoking on their balcony, you’re a jerk. One final cruel stroke – the “TSA Pre” boarding passes RCI printed out on the boat that were part of the valet service? Yeah…no. We loved that line, too, friends. Maybe it’s about efficiently serving sixty-seven hundred guests. I don’t know. My exceedingly wise PhD spouse said it best. “I felt like a customer, not a guest.” Next cruise, we’ll see what the competition has to offer. Read Less

Oasis of the Seas has a great crew. the ship needs refurbishing its 9 years old. saying that I still had a great time. My only beef is that when I travel alone they set me at a table for two and I end up eating alone. this has happened over and over again. if i want to eat alone i would stay home. when I book my cruise I ask for early dining and a large table. I did not like the show CATS and walked out after 30 minutes. a half hour later i saw a line 9 persons wide walking out. The comedy show was very good along with the water show, ice show come fly with me. Come fly with me had props that i have never seen in a broadway type show. it was great. I have a suggestion for RCL open up my time dining and start a large table for those of us that are single. PS being diamond plus made boarding easy with a small line. Read Less

This was absolutely the best ocean cruise we've ever had. Normally, we prefer River Cruises, but this ship may change our minds about that in the future. We booked this trip without knowing anything about the ship. What a pleasant, wonderful surprise we received. Great entertainment (which included a Broadway worthy performance of "Cats" which was amazing as was everything else we saw on ship. All our dining experiences were wonderful and delicious...particularly "Chops Grille", one of the specialty restaurants. Our cabin had a balcony and, although not a suite, was spacious enough for us and my husband's rental scooter. We loved sitting out on our balcony in the evenings with a glass of wine. The staff on board are tremendous...friendly, accommodating and able to solve any problem that may arise. We weren't interested in going on shore. BUT, there was Soooo much to do we could not experience everything available. Can't wait to sail the "Oasis of the Sea" again. If those reading this would like to view the ship, please go to YouTube and type in "Oacis of the Sea". One of the passengers on our cruise filmed the entire ship and explains all the available things to see and do Read Less

My wife paid for this cruise through her work. It was a great cruise, huge ship & lots to do. The ship was beautiful. Our room was bigger than we thought it would be, plus a balcony over Central Park. Only con, the bed was a little hard but got used to it. The food at Chop's Grill was fantastic. The free meals at Central Café & Windjammer was very good. The staff everywhere was great. We even got to meet & talk to the Captain twice in the hallways. Our room attendant cleaned our room twice a day. And at night made animals out of towels & put it on our bed, also turned it down. There was over 6,000 guests & 2,000 employees on the ship. It really was never that crowded. Going to be talking to my wife's kids about our next cruise. Can't wait for the next cruise. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we were RCCL Loyalists. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. Service had declined in many areas from the number of dining room attendants per table to what is offered on the menu to even getting freshly ground pepper on your salad. The shows although extravagant, were actually boring. for example the ice show had a child's theme. When in a port of call, many, many of the ships stores and restaurants were closed whereas had they been open, you could have availed yourself to them without huge lines. Even little things like room attendant making towel animals nightly was missing except a 2 times plus gone were the mints that used to appear on your pillows. It was a nice touch, but... We had sound problems with our TV so maintenance was called, it took almost 4 hours for him to appear. Lastly, room service in the morning was either incorrect or missing altogether. Very disappointed. Read Less

Where do i begin. As we planned for the holidays for a 6 room trip with the family, we were pretty excited. Since day 1 nothing went as planned. We were all supposed to have anytime dining and they checked us in different times and didn't sit us at the dinner table together as a family. Secondly, one of our rooms was a complete disaster. The fire hydrant went off all over our bed, so instead of staying on the island we had to stay in our room to wait for crew to come fix it. They were little concerned about the inconvenience and the manager only cared to know "how many pieces of clothing was sprayed and to let him know tomorrow when he came back". He did not ever come back. After that, our bathroom toilet decided to overflow when we were not in the room and went all over our personal belongings in the bathroom. Not a single apology and when we finally decided to complain, they said they were "working on issues and to not flush anything but toilet paper". Basically implying we flushed something down the toilet? That was another day wasted trying to get our room situated. As a family, we decided to do shore excursions through caribbean. Particularly, snorkeling where we booked a "pirate ship" where a treasure hunt and turtles in water were promised as apart of the excursion. Not only was there not pirate ship, we were told there hasn't been anything like that in the water and we would not see any turtles at this time. Why would they sell us a package for that? So we thought, ok we wont do that excursion and get a refund as the represented promised they would do for inconvenience. So we went to guest services, where they did not refund the entire purchase but a measling $7 per ticket. The excursion was $70 a piece and we had 11 people for labadee snorkling. How is that acceptable? We also booked snorkling on st. Thomas in which they prompted us to the location or we would miss it. The excursion then advised us to wait patiently, 2 hours later our grandfather passes out and has a heat stroke. They promised we would have beverages and on the boat in less than 10 minutes. After we got our grandfather back to the boat, they advised us they werent taking us to island and little to no fish were even in the waters since the hurricane irma. Again, how is that acceptable practice to sell excursions that they know they aren't providing? Thats called false advertisement. We wouldnt have cared if they refunded us the full amount for 11 people on both excursions. They just refunded 1 and $7 dollars off $70 per person on the other after being promised they would take it off. basically robbed us of $693 dollars while causing a heat stroke to a grandfather. in all of my years as a business owner and working in federal government, i have never see a cruise liner not fix a ugly situation like this. Between all of us, we have completed well over 100 cruises and may never return to royalcaribbean. Only positive, was dinner staff. Even some of the shows were cancelled due to malfunctions. Incredible! Lastly, when they came and santizied our bathroom, my wife had a chemical reaction to chemicals used and not properly removed!! Read Less

This was a restful and FUN vacation. We slept great on our balcony stateroom queen/king bed and had a totally remarkable steward, Butch, to keep our room perfectfully. He must never sleep because each time we returned, he had been inside to tidy up. The Grand dining, main dining room, was lovely. Our food was delicious and could not have been better. The service from Kumarun our waiter and helper Edi was just fabulous! We ate breakfast almost every day in the Solarium and had lunch in the Windjammer. Food each place was so GOOD! How others could report that there was food not up to par is beside me....ALL OF IT WAS GOOD and if you didn't like the selection just tell someone and another selection would appear. The ports were enjoyable but were still not back after the Hurricanes. St Thomas had so many telephone poles to install, it will take weeks and weeks of labor. BOth St Thomas and Puerto Rico (San Juan) showed the wrath of the storms and most of each island (including St Johns) did not have power all these weeks later (12/25/2017). Our cab driver in San Juan said they had been promised before but were "supposed" to have power available 12/23. Hopefully it did happen for them. The ship is beautiful. The superior balcony room is nice but the very smallest stateroom we have ever had. Be sure to take a hanging cosmetic bag for the bathroom as space for bath items is sparse. The shower IS small but works fine with great spray and hot water always available. The shows were superior. We enjoyed the water show at the acquadic center especially and also our second comedian. The theatre is lovely and comfortable, but do arrive early for your reservation. The Solarium seating area for sunbathing was so very nice and we usually had no problem finding a chair, but chair hogs totally exist. Enjoy your cruise....IT WAS FUN! Everyone gripes about lines...NO PROBLEM...they don't exist! The Acupuncturist was exceptional, Dr. Arun..he really helped my pain level. Be sure to check your pricing at the Spa..check the actual receipts as the discount percentage must be checked. Out of seven visits, I had one 100% correct, however, they do adjust them and you have to check only with spa personnel for that. Read Less

We chose this ship for our Christmas gift to each other. And Port Canaveral is only 45 minutes away from our house, and the good reviews it has received on, Cruise Critic. This ship is huge! if you have any mobility problems this is not for you! Walking stem to stern is 1,800 feet make this trip just for your meals and you’ve walked 1 mile. Shipboard activities, any activity, that involved communicating with the crew was difficult. We only speak English so if the crew was speaking English the accents were unintelligible. Service did not come with a smile, they had their 18% gratuity built right in. Buy a can of beer $ 8.00 plus $ 1.44 tip! $ 14.00 liquor plus $ 2.52 tip, $ 16.52 total, for 1 drink! When was the last time you went up to the bartender ordered 4 drinks and gave a Ten dollar tip for your his or her two minutes of time? I was served a slimy shrimp cocktail, room temperature, the waiter said he just took it from the refrigerator. Maybe it was from the refrigerator in our room? Why our room? Because there was a mini-fridge in our room didn't work, the response from steward was, it is just a cooler, not a refrigerator, OK! The food was poor and the service was tepid. The food on the Oasis was bad, bland, dry, and recycled, yes recycled, like a beef loin that was not used up for a dinner service would go into the fridge and would resurface the next day as Beef Bourguignon. Room service is free except for the $7.95 delivery charge and the 18% gratuity. The ship is beautiful, service not so good, food was bad, the room was OK. Outside the cabin was always hot. I had to change shirts every time I came back from being outside our cabin, soaked in sweat. I would not recommend, Oasis of the Sea, to a friend. Read Less
