My wife and I choose this cruise because we have family in Orlando, FL. It allows us to visit them for a couple of days and then get out of the City and do something different that going to Entertainment Parks. No more Disney parks for me. It was very convenient to take the ship in Cape Canaveral. Regarding the cruise, we really enjoyed the travel and the experience. I have been in the past in the east side of the Caribbean with Royal Caribbean as well and was really anxious to visit other islands in the west side. Being in a big ship like this one, during Spring Break Week, with 6,000 passengers and 2,000 cruise members is like going to "Las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastian" in Puerto Rico. It was crowded! Specially the first day. We arrived by 1:30pm. The embarkation line was long but it was moving fast. Don't know why it took soo much time for the Check-In process? Anyways, it took us like one hour to get inside the ship. As you can imagine, everyone was like crazy discovering this amazing ship. After the first day, it was okay with the exception of long lines to get into the Windjammer for breakfast. Later we discovered that you can eat breakfast in one of the dining rooms when the ship is in an ocean cruising day. Regarding the cabin, we selected one with Ocean View and Balcony. It was kind of chilly for us but is a very relaxing experience. Cabin was well cleaned and maintained. For Dinner, we selected the three nights dining experience. I really liked the quality and taste of my steak at Chops Grille. We also went to Izumi's Japanese and to the Italian Giovanni's. Rest of the days we went to the Main Dining Room. Menu choices were good. Entertaiment. Well, we are not big fans of Musicals but decided to saw CATS and another one called Come Fly with Me. These are more oriented to the Americans and British aboard the cruise. We really enjoyed the Latin Group playing at Bolero's and the Philippine Group playing at Dazzles. Regarding the onshore excursions, we selected the Yaaman 3-in-1 tour in Jamaica and the Tulum ruins in Mexico. These were more oriented to empty nesters like us. I don't know why this ship stop at Cozumel if all the tours are in Playa del Carmen and neighbored areas. Anyways, the 90 minutes ferry ride from and to the boat is for me a waste of valuable time. The Yaaman Tour in Jaimaca was really fun and we enjoyed a lot! Will I go again in this exact Cruise? Probably with a small group but will choose my shore activities more wisely. Read Less

Arrival and departure were a breeze in spite of large number of passengers. Our Grand Suite was delightful, large, with plenty of storage. The spacious bathroom had two sinks, tub with handheld shower, and a generous supply of towels. Our server in the MD could not have been more helpful, always explaining choices and serving with her nice smile. The staff was cheery, we were seated quickly, and everyone was having a really good time. Of course, the specialty dining offered a more relaxed experience. The servers extremely professional and willing to take time to chat and share information. We ate at Giovanni's, Chops, 150 Park Avenue and will continue to do this in the future as we have on all of our RCL cruises. It is our vacation, after all and something we look forward to each and every day. The Aqua and Ice Shows are beyond description. One must see these amazing shows firsthand to really appreciate the talent and outstanding imagination we viewed. Totally breathtaking. This was my second time ziplining in Labadee. It was on my 75 year old friend's bucket list so I was happy to join her. We were thrilled and still grin every time we share the adventure with friends. The ship's zip line was fun but a little restrictive due to the fact we were zipping over the ship's interior, fun nevertheless. The entire staff from the captain to our wonderful cabin steward Nelson did everything possible to make our vacation memorable and enjoyable! Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the port it leaves from. Coming from Canada it saves some miles. I cannot say enough about the Oasis of The Seas and its crew. Meals were good much better than 3 years ago. Service was outstanding. It really stood out. Entertainment was great but I think the broadway play cats is starting to get stale and should be replaced. Do not get me wrong. They do a terrific job. All other entertainment is superb. If you want a great vacation go on the Oasis of The Seas. You cannot go wrong. Do not miss any of the shows. We loved the schooner bar with Chester. He is a hoot. The parade on board gives you that Disney feeling. We have been on 10 cruises and I feel this was the best one and gives you what you expect. Look no further and you will be pleased. Read Less

The Oasis of the Seas is a magnificent ship that everyone in their lifetime should experience. The crew was friendly, professional and provided outstanding service especially in the American Icon restaurant. We had a superior balcony stateroom which was smaller than I was used to on Holland America ships. The bathroom is very small but functional even for a 6 foot 5 inch tall 300 pound guy like myself. However, I will upgrade to a Junior suite on my next cruise but will definitely sail on either the Oasis of the Seas or the Allure of the Seas ships. I found the volume of the music in Dazzles, Opal Theater, and Studio B to be a bit LOUD especially when you can feel the bass sound beating on your chest. I will bring earplugs next time so I can appreciate the entertainment better. Their is a mistake on the license plate map of the United States in the American Icon restaurant. See attached photo. I compared it against the other seven maps and it is the only one. Hint, check the state of Nevada. Read Less

We have a large family and all 24 of us went on the Oasis of the Seas. It was totaly awesome in so many ways, but the one thing that made it the best cruise EVER for one of our grandsons is that he is a Special Needs child with Spina Biffida and cannot walk. He has always wanted to be able to ride the flow rider like his brothers and sisters. One of the sports staff members (Rocky) actually got on the board with him so he could ride. Then the second time he stood beside him and it allowed him to ride on his own. That one event alone made the entire cruise worth the cost. Also the putt-putt course on the Oasis in flat enough that he was able to play from his wheelchair. Our only bad experience was with the photo staff. We had pre-arranged and paid for a private photo session due to such a large family. We also had numerous other picture taken all around the ship as well as on land. When we went to choose our package we were told we could NOT combine the pictures takes by the photographer of our private session with the pictures taken by the other ships photographers on and off the ship. They made us by two separate packages. Read Less

We had a group of 26 on this cruise celebrating birthdays (2 70th birthdays) and one 50th anniversary! We had the time of our lives just attending the shows, which were amazing, and enjoying ourselves! We went to our favorite restaurant, Pancho's Backyard, for lunch while we were in Cozumel. We have actually been to Pancho's at least five times in the past year. The ship, Oasis of the Seas, is fantastic, the crew is great and we loved all the shows! The food is very good in both the wyndjammer and the main dining room. Specialty dining at Chops is always a pleasure and the staff members are great. We had 3 bottles of champagne and 3 birthday and anniversary cakes! Would recommend traveling on the Oasis of the Seas but you might want to avoid the Spring Breakers - a lot of teenagers and children! They were not a problem but just a lot of them. Read Less

Royal Caribbean is our cruise line of choice. We wanted to be within a reasonable driving distance from NC. Wanted to experience this larger ship. With the large amount of passengers, we were expecting a long embarkation. Pleasantly surprised as to how well this was accomplished. The same surprise was for the disembarkation. Both went very well. Once on board, we stopped at the information desk to obtain a deck plan and began to familiarize ourselves with the ship. This takes a bit of studying as the ship is so large. Even with the huge amount of passengers, we did not feel overwhelmed. Had requested a salt free diet when booking the trip. This was not a problem. After the 1st dinner the head waiter would bring us the menu for the following day and we could make our selections & the next days food would be prepared with no salt. Didn't take any shore excursions. Stayed on the ship in Nassau as we have been there a few times and wanted to explore more of the ship. In St. Thomas took a taxi to Coki beach and snorkeled. Beach is smaller than Magen's Bay but the snorkeling was much better. In St. Maarten took a taxi to Orient Beach. It was more difficult to snorkel because of the rough sea. The seas on the ship were rough for a few evenings so the Aqua show couldn't happen until the last day at sea. The CATS performance was astounding as the seas were quite rough. The Headliner show was great. The Ice Show and Aerial Show were very entertaining. It is a wonder how these performers and proceed with these show on rough seas. There was always something to keep you busy if you wanted to be busy. The Central Park & Boardwalk area of the ship is lovely, except when it rained but Central Park had umbrellas for your use. The food and the service was excellent.i was a little leery about going on a ship this large only having cruised on the Freedom class. we expected to stand in long lines but this was not the case. the cruiseline has thought this through and everything went smoothly. With our days at sea there were ample room to sit or layout near the pools and hot tubs. the lines at the soft serve ice cream stations were never very long, they even added strawberry flavor. We enjoy going to the Art Auctions onboard. They had something for everyones pocketbook. We cant wait to go again on this ship in November. Read Less

There were 8 senior women on this girls cruise. We loved every minute! We had drinks before dinner in a different bar every night. We enjoyed every single show onboard and one of us (me) even went zip-lining for the first time! The food was the most delicious I have had on any of my 35 cruises. We never felt rushed or crowded---except in the Windjammer the first day and in the Promenade on the last day as we walked our bags off. We truly enjoyed the sit down service in the dining room for almost all of our meals. My cabin was a balcony overlooking central park and was spacious and comfortable. We wanted to bring the beds home. The shows just blow me away each time I see them and was so happy that I could bring some of my friends to experience them. No matter where I see Cats, it is not my favorite play, but that is just personal. The cast does a fantastic job of acting and singing. This is my third cruise on the Oasis and it just gets better and better each time---in my opinion! By the way, I am Diamond Plus on Royal and Loyal to Royal and Celebrity. Read Less

I enjoyed the dancing and costumes in the Broadway Production of Cats. This time we enjoyed riding the merry-go -round even though we are in our 80's. We played mini Golf and practiced our putting. My favorite place is the Dining room. The food is served beautifully and the service is great. We had a lovely couple assigned to our table. As always, we looked forward to the Gold by the Inch and both my husband and I made purchases. We enjoyed the shopping and bought tee shirts and jackets with the Oasis or the Seas Logo. We also enjoyed being on the ship. We walked thru the Central Park and Boardwalk. We enjoyed the art exhibits. We estimated the corridor outside our suite was 1/4 mile long. We also exercised in the physical equipment room. We had a wonderful time. At the casino we won and lost. Winning was better. Read Less

We picked this ship for the size, port of call, and embarkation location. We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites in Port Canaveral and used their shuttle service to get to and from the ship. It is the best way to go and the shuttle service was easy and seamless. The hotel served hot cookies upon arrival, breakfast, and had a pool, Jacuzzi and the rooms were quiet. We would stay here again and shuttle to ship. This is our second time on the Oasis class and we have that the newer ships like the Oasis Class and Harmony Class ships have updated things we used to have to take with us. They have a night light in the bathrooms and extra plugs including under the bed, in the cabins. These were great for my CPAP machine and charging our phones/radios. These were big improvements for us. Thank you!! We have a few suggestions for Royal Caribbean concerning our experience: - A light on our interior balcony for reading. - Glad the days are back in elevators, but the pre-lit deck numbers made it hard to see what decks were already pressed. - LOVED the classical concert in Central Park. - We miss our Diamond Plus line at guest services and getting off the ship. I understand that Pinnacle people have cruised more, but we cruised many times to make Diamond Plus to get these perks. Luckily, someone came down the line on embarkation day and asked if anyone was Diamond Plus or Pinnacle. This saved us a great deal of time in line. Glad we were recognized before we even got to the ship. The staff from guest services to our room steward to the Diamond Concierge to the shop staff were all superb. Everyone was friendly and helpful! Read Less

Did a back to back cruise in Feb 2017 we wanted to try out the large ship experience having been on the Anthem of the seas , we were not disappointed this is a great ship and although there were 6000+ people on board it never felt crowded, we were on freedom dining and although the staff in the restaurant were great we found the food a little disappointing, sure it looked great and was served perfect for us it lacked a bit of taste, so we ate a lot of the time in the windjammer it was quicker and more choice and tasted great, the whole ship experience was truly wow! there was so much to do and see i think there was still bars and restaurants we missed even after two weeks, we did the drinks package and enjoyed wonderful cocktails, beers and poolside frozen delights if you like to drink we would recommend you do this package as it saves a lot if you like to enjoy yourself, all the shows were marvellous the ice show and the Aqua show were very good, but i must admit Cats was a struggle to understand but then again i didn't understand it when i saw it in London 25years ago, everything else was top notch, the cafe in Central park is a must for beef lovers the sandwich they make at lunchtime is to die for we had many many of these, this was a great cruise and well up to royal caribbean standards, only down side was that Royal Caribbean only seem to do 1 week cruises and doing the back to back Eastern and Western Caribbean meant you have to return to port Canaveral half way and also visit Labadee twice, Its good but twice! coming from the UK its a long way to come for a 1 week cruise would be nice if you mixed them up a bit to give us 2 week cruisers a chance, you do have a lot of ships doing the Caribbean, also stopped off at Cozumel and did the Mayan Ruins tour this tour was in my opinion quite expensive at the ruins really are ruined theres nothing there except some stumps of rock in the ground just protruding the earth and although our Guide Emanuel was great and full of enthusiasm I'm sorry guys this was the worst tour ever, they then took us to a beach for an hour which i suppose was to justify the cost of this tour, which was nice but its a beach! had some food in the cafe there [ no comment ] Our Captain, Captain Rob was great very laid back and confident felt very safe in his hands, we were lucky enough to meet him in the bridge on our all access tour which by the way was fantastic and worth every penny if you are going to do a behind the scenes tour this is the ship! all in all a great cruise with a good mixture of age groups [ not saying i would like it when the kids are on holiday ] a wonderful experience and looking forward to my next Royal Caribbean cruise Dec 2017 definitely recommend this ship and would have no hesitation booking a cruise on it again, thanks guys...... My 93 year old father likes to cruise with his adult family members (that includes children, grandchildren and great grandchildren) and some additional friends. Having a family suite (the Royal Family suite accommodates a large group, unlike other suites or other cruise lines) gives us plenty of sleeping accommodations. bathrooms, balcony space, and a living space for family time. Fortunately we were also able to book an adjoining balcony room, so we have even more space and three bathroom!! In addition, the services and amenities for "Suite People" are fantastic - priority getting on and off the ship, priority reservations at shows and dining, and of course the wonderful Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen - the best food and service on the ship, and the view is awesome!. When you calculate how much it would cost to get balcony rooms for all the people in our group (and they would not all be connecting), the cost of the suite is a great value, much less than all those individual rooms!! We only travel with RCL and always in a Royal Family Suite. We are already looking at options for cruising next year. It really doesn't matter where we go, as we've been to so many of the ports already, just so long as it is with Royal Caribbean and in a Royal Family Suite! Read Less

This cruise selected because of ship. Wanted to try a much larger ship for a change. From parking the car and boarding (processing on board really fast) to getting off the ship everything was smooth. Dining room experience with Christobel and Yutong just terrific!! We had been to the ports before but tried zip lining. What a wonderful feeling. The only disappointing item of the cruise, there was a theme party on board and they took up one of the dance venues. Would not have booked cruise if I had known. Ship very clean and I felt the dining room dinners were quite sufficient. We didn't try the extra $$$ restaurants. Sometimes a little crowded with over 5,000 passengers on board. Two very good entertainment bands on board. Love to dance to their music. Watched stage show Come Fly With Me. Just terrific!! Very nice and roomy cabins but I think new beds would be appropriate. We had terrific cabin service with George Williams. I would give the ship an overall rating of 5 Stars. Will sail again with RCCL. Gary W. Read Less

Our cabin was very clean, nicely furnished and to our surprise a bottle of champagne welcomed us so we could stay on the balcony and watch what it takes to get this huge ship going. The dining choices, taste and presentation were superb even if you did not go to the main dining rooms. The waiters seem to had ESP because we had our favorite wine waiting for us before we even got to our table - what a service! Did I also mention that the bars were well stocked, at least until we left? Even poolside had waiters bring us our favorite drinks. Since we came from The Villages Fl in support our favorite group "Rocky and The Rollers" we enjoyed mostly their performances, but seen other superb productions on the ship. The shows were awesome and I liked the fact you could choose which shows and what time you wanted to see them. The ship had many places to enjoy lounging around the pool and you never felt crowded. Embarkation and disembarkation was very easy with very little wait times. Porters were available so it was not difficult dealing with luggage. Enjoyed the balcony over the Boardwalk but next time would get a Central Park View room since it has a sitting nook in the room and it gives a little extra room for sitting. We did the Blackbeard Castle excursion and would like to let anyone know if they are interested in this one you WILL have to walk back to the ship. Definitely read the small print on this excursion. We went with friends to get away from snow up north. We had a great time. Best vacation in a long time. Going first class in a Suite made the trip so very nice with all the extra things included. I can't say enough good things about the cruise line. Went on a smaller ship (Brilliance of the Seas) last year, and that was also very good. The extra money we spent for a suite was very much worth it. We are now spoiled, would not go any other way. However, we did not not spend a lot of time in the cabin except to sleep, so any cabin would have been ok, but being much older as I am, I really appreciated all the extra services that came with the suite. We are getting married soon, so we spent time on shore shopping for our wedding rings, which we found in St. Thomas. This Cruise line was terrific in every way. We complained about our meal the first night..(coffee never came on time) and wow! did they every make up for it the next night. Terrific service...Had so much fun! Read Less

We are loyal to royal cruisers and wanted to try one of their big ships. Being Florida residents and Crown and Anchor members the price couldn't be beat. I have found that the bigger ships do tend to charge more for the cruises but they do offer many more things to do. We do not use the specialty restaurants so I can't comment on those. However, I thought the food in the dinning room was on par with their other, smaller ships. Nothing world changing but quite good and we never felt like it was disappointing. The Windjammer food, again, was on par with the smaller ships, however, I do like some of the choices available on the smaller ones. For the entertainment, I wasn't expecting much from the Aquatheater, however we saw two shows and both were excellent and definitely worth seeing. I have never been disappointed in the service on any of the royal ships. Oasis was no different. I find that if you treat the service staff with respect and understanding for what they have to do you will get that same respect back. The cabins on Oasis were, for us, somewhat disappointing. We are used to the standard cabin layout (we always book a balcony) that have been on the other Royal ships. I guess with newer designed ships the cabin also got a newer, more compact, design. The storage space seems to be less and not as convenient. The best thing I found in the cabin, and it is also true of the Freedom class ships, is the shower door instead of a curtain. I would love to see the other ships upgraded to have shower doors. We didn't take this cruise for the ports or the excursions, however, we did enjoy getting off the ship at each destination and walking around in the duty free shops. This was our first time to Labadee and Falmouth and third time to Cosmel. My biggest concern was dealing with the expected crowds. There were over 6300 passengers on this cruise. I never found there to be any bigger problem with crowds than I have on smaller ships. The only time we ever felt crowded was after dinner while shopping on the Promenade deck. And even then it was no worse than we have experienced on the Brilliance, where sometimes it is standing room only! Oasis has a lot to offer, it is really geared toward families as there are a lot of activities for children and younger adults. However, we as seniors, also found plenty of things to do and never felt like something was missing. We would not hesitate to take another cruise on any of Royal's large ships. Read Less

We choose this cruise to board the Oasis of the Seas for the first time. My wife and I went as we normally do, by ourselves. We are in our late 60's but we dance, have fun and use the pools, jog, run and eat. Embarkation was smooth and fast, very organized. Debarkation was even faster, about 10 minutes to exit the terminal from start to finish, could not believe it. This ship is very large yet it was very easy to navigate all areas. The key is to use the promenade (deck 5). Elevators are at both ends and quite a few they are. Remember that in many areas the food is free even if it looks expensive. Park Central (deck 8), just a great place to spend time to relax, get a great roast beef sandwich, fruit cups, salads and excellent soups. The Solarium was another spot to eat. But the Windjammer is the venue for eating most of the time. On deck 5 is the promenade and the jogging track. Go past the Boardwalk (here is the carousel) and the Aqua Theater. The promenade is the center of everything, from bars to music to 24hrs cafe, pizza. At Sorrentos they serve pizza with all the ingredients you want added, The entertainment was fabulous. Many typical activities and there's the Grand Parade with the Dreamworks animated characters. The food was the highlight since Royal Caribbean has greatly improved their menu, especially breakfast. Quality, presentation, and taste was simply great. Service better than ever. Royal Caribbean has taken suggestions and made changes and the results are evident, just an exceptional cruise. Before boarding and during your online checkin, make sure you try and get as many shows as you can in accordance with your dining schedule. If you find out taht some shows are full, do not worry, when you board just go to desk services and they will complete it for you, as we had to do. The folks are very very nice. On this cruise we had MyTime Dining table for two every night. The food was simply very good and service second to none. Our cabin was 7437 interior, roomy and very clean always. The public restrooms are very clean. All in all this was worth every penny and we will book another cruise soon. We have been on all the major cruise lines but we will return with Royal Caribbean. A ship twice the displacement of the carrier Nimitz was worth exploring. The largest cruise ship which will be surpassed by the Harmony of the Seas by ONE foot. We really wanted to explore this craft and compare it to the other ships we have sailed. We did and decided that smaller is better for us octogenarians, however, if we take the teenage grandchildren as we did on the Brilliance last July in the Med. the Oasis would be the preferred choice. The best time to appreciate the ship is when most passengers are off on excursions or port visits. The ship is almost devoid of passengers! Central Park is empty, the Boardwalk is quiet and you can walk the Royal Promenade without feeling you are at a county fair. The Solarium area was appreciated most and was often the quietest spot to be found, super comfortable seating.spas and pools were not our thing. Although we are whale watch volunteers the whales in the pools were beyond us and the bikinis on some of the whales were really too much too bear. Far better to watch the kids on the TWO rock climbing walls or those in the TWO flow rider pools. Really, a huge recreation area, including mini golf and shuffle board. Entertainment was good but busy, Cats was over 2 h and after the intermission, half of the balcony occupants left! Was it that bad, YES. The second hour was a great improvement, thank god for that. Conclusion: it was worth the experience. If you decide to go please do a little research, you'll enjoy this mammoth a lot more. Read Less

This was our second time on the Oasis of the Seas. We were on the Allure Twice. The staff were great, always going out of their way to make sure our experience was memorable. Embarkation went very quickly. Disembarkation we used the express and a little more organization is needed. First the shows: Such amazing talent. Cats is not one of my favorite plays but this cast was so very talented. The singing, the dancing Great. Frozen in Time, the Aqua Show, the comedian were all wonderful. The headliner show "Abba" was so good we went twice. We were in the Boardwalk Balcony room and wow, it was great. Always had the ocean balcony before but really enjoyed the Boardwalk - more to see. Not noisy at all. Food: The Park Café roast beef sandwiches are a must. The hot dog stand great. The food in the dining room was a disappointment, first because of the selection then because of the taste, we actually had to send back the food twice. Staff: Best staff on any cruise ship. They all went out of their way to help and be courteous. Our room steward Corrine - fantastic. Our dining room staff - Yogesh and Catherine - WOW. My husband and I traveled alone on this trip but made reservations for another cruise in May with the family. Hopefully the food will improve by then. Read Less

This is the 3rd time on an Oasis Class (over 6,000 guests) ship. The Oasis again did not disappoint. The ship is beautiful, which includes "Central Park" - best lunch!! The dining experience in the "My Time Dining" was wonderful which included the food and wait staff. Our room steward was also exceptional. The shows were extremely professional, high quality, shows - didn't miss any of them. The pool areas are fun, along with an adult only area, if you wanted more quiet. Spent lots of time in the casino at night too, a very nice venue, which included a great variety of slot machines and table games. Our balcony cabin was roomy and have no complaints. Considering the amount of people on board, you don't really notice this, except around showtime, as you need to prebook your shows online prior to your cruise in order to guarantee your seat. This was the first cruise that the Oasis used this new port, Port Canaveral, and the check out process seemed a bit long, but I'm sure they will learn to accomodate this large group in the future. Incidentally we booked another cruise - same ship - same time next near year, can't wait!!! Read Less
