Let me start by addressing one very big myth about this ship. The pre-conceived notions it is too crowded can not be any more false. Embarkation/disembarkation were the easiest I have ever experienced.
Once on board, the ship is so large and so well organized in to "neighborhoods," no one area gets two crowded. The only time I experienced corwds on this cruise were during events like the ...
the oasis is a beautiful ship. we(part of a family get together of 21)all had lots to do. Yes 10 mins. and we were on the ship. windjammer had it problems should be bigger to handle all but we really didn't have a problem. we found the food stations to be a little confusing. But there was so many other places to eat we never really had a problem. our room over looked boardwalk we could see the ...
As always we flew to Ft. Lauderdale a day early. Upon the advise of a cruise critic member we stayed at the Sleep Inn(base price $53) for $69 including all taxes. I called the free shuttle while DH was retrieving the bags from the carousel; the shuttle arrived at the waiting area just as we did. There was an outdoor pool and small fitness area indoors. We asked for and received a king bed no ...
DID THIS CRUISE MEET OUR EXPECTATIONS - NO!!:
It exceeded them by a long way.
This was a cruise that my DW had requested for our 30th wedding anniversary, following on from a television program she had seen last year. Were we disappointed.................NO!!!
As usual, we arrived on the Friday, prior the cruise on September 25th, via Miami. This following a very good flight ...
We really enjoyed our cruise, but we didn't notice much better service for a suite than if we were in a regular cabin. If you don't need the space, not worth the extra money. However, we have two small children (4 and 2) and my wife is expecting, so we picked the cheapest cabin with two seperate rooms. A suite was a little more than booking two adjoining rooms, so we went for the suite. Would ...
We were 5 couples traveling together - with 3 different types of cabins - Outside balcony, Central Park balcony and inside cabin. So let's start the review on cabins - First understand that the ship is longer than 3 football fields and has a tremendous amount of open space so getting together to meet each other, even when we were on the same floor took a lot of coordination and walking as there ...
Our room was directly under the Disco that was on deck 4. The club was open till about 3am to 4am every night except for 1 night. We are not Disco types and enjoy our sleep before 3am. When I had booked my room though our travel agent-we went with a big group-I told them I did not want to be under or near the Disco. My daughter's room was 3192 and she could hear the music or should i say NOISE ...
If one wants to find problems on a cruise, you can always do so, but I can say without a doubt, at this point in time you will never find a finer ship than the OASIS of the Seas. It is an engineering marvel.
But with 6000 guests, how can the service be good, and you do not feel crowed. I am not sure how they did this, but that is what we experienced. Embarkation was a dream at about 12:30 PM. I ...
This was a trip for myself (19) my brother (32) and parents (52 and 55). Due to weather the trip was diverted from Western Caribbean to Eastern Caribbean. The Eastern Caribbean tended to be more for shopping and walking rather than the atv and zip lining we hoped for. However we still made the best out of it. There were a good number of shows that we attended as a family. Additionally we enjoyed ...
Introduction
My husband and I just returned, this week, from the Eastern itinerary on board the Oasis of the Seas - July 31 to August 6. This was my 9th cruise and my husband's 4th and we both agree that it has been our favourite. For the last several years I have been on the receiving end, most of the time, in terms of information and advice on these boards and so I feel I must give back each ...
