This ship was entirely tooooooo big and tooooooo much commotion for our tastes! Just too many people and unfortunately too many un-supervised/un-parented children. We felt it was more like a floating continuous carnival or wild playground than a cruise. If we had been on the cruise with our grandchildren, it would have been a much better experience for us and a great one for them, but we were ...
Traveled during Spring break with husband and 7 and 2 year old sons. Have been on many cruises (15-20), most recently Disney Fantasy. Stayed in Grand Balcony Suite.
Ship is huge with lots of activities which cater more to teenagers in my opinion. It seems that because the ship has so many facilities RCL doesn’t see the need to provide as much onboard organized activities as they did in the ...
Second time on Oasis, fourth overall time cruising with RC. I was a loyal customer to RC, first two times cruising were on Freedom Class ships. Went on Oasis 2 years ago and had a blast, just back from Oasis, not pleased. So I'm going to jump around I'm sure while I type this out so I apologize. Lets begin with our first stop, the beautiful RC resort of Labadee. We never got off. Unfortunately, ...
I went on the cruise because of the special scrapbooking event. The ship was great! Overall, wonderful experience. I loved the servers playing music outside the Windjammer restaurant each morning. Their food variety was amazing! American Icon Grill was wonderful overall. We sat at the same table each night and got to know our waiters. They were professional and very attentive to our wants. ...
We had hoped for a pleasant and relaxing week with expectations for the usual good service and food that has characterized previous experiences with Royal Caribbean. It saddens me to say that in this case that ain't what happened.
Boarding was fast and efficient-they do an excellent job of moving the line quickly and getting you on the ship. In this case...TOO QUICKLY. Hidden in the packet ...
This was my 6th cruise with RCI, and was my first and last time on Oasis. I was hoping the bigger ship would be better, but this is definitely not the case. The short version is that there are 6,300 passengers on there with you, so you have to wait in line for EVERYTHING. From the start, the embarkation line was ridiculously long. An hour and a half waiting in the security line just to start the ...
We have been on different cruise lines in the past which were amazing and so we were very excited and looking forward to this cruise. Sadly, it was such a disappointment. The cabin was dingy and in need of repairs. Not nearly as nice as cabins that we've stayed in on other cruise lines such as Celebrity and Carnival. The food was probably the biggest let down. We had other cruises to compare the ...
Traveling with a group that scheduled this cruise 2 years ago.
The only really good things were the embarkation & disembarkation! While the lines were long during embarkation, it went smoothly & didn't take long. Disembarkation was a breeze because we choose to drag our bags - in line about 530am - on the road by 7am!
Cabin #12-178: reminded me of a very old motel room - couch was stained, ...
The Oasis of the seas is a beautiful ship! But it was ruined by everything they charged EXTRA for. They are CHEAP, CHEAP, AND CHEAP!!
-Such as $7.95 room service fee. They don’t provide a lanyard for the card, HOWEVER, they sell them for $12.95 EVERYWHERE on the boat.
-If you want a lovely meal (free on other cruise lines), then you pay $$$. The regular dining meals are UNDERWHELMING, and ...
Cabins are not well maintained (sheets were torn, modeling coming off). Also, service in dining and activities suffers. Not the crew's fault, it's simply too large to provide a quality experience that you would expect if you've cruised on other lines/ships. On the first night in the main dining room they could not find our table so we were left standing there for 10 minutes. The food, while ...
