What a nightmare!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

Norovirus hit the ship and got 7 of the 10 traveling with so sick, including a 1 year old and a 5 year old. The crew was doing what they could, it just wasn't enough. They gave everyone free movies and free room service, restricted to what the medical staff said they could eat. Room service was just overwhelmed. Our rooms were on the same level but not near each other. I walked on average 11 miles ...

My in-laws purchased this cruise for our entire family of almost 30 people. The entire thing was absolutely designed to take as much money from you as possible. They nickel and dime you mercilessly. I ordered the same drink the entire time and the price was never the same. I felt psychologically manipulated the entire time by the layout. I understand that it’s a business. But their methods are ...

The first night's dinner sent me to the medical facility with nausea, vomiting, and severe abdominal pain. I was diagnosed with gastritis. I knew it was food poisoning from dinner, but the medical staff would not even whisper the words. Little did I know then that a few cruises later the ship would return early because of a gastrointestinal outbreak. Embarcation was the smoothest I have seen ...

It was somewhat of a disappointment

We were SOOOO excited for this cruise. Everything we’d been told we would definitely be stepping up from carnival by choosing this cruise. NOT TRUE. First, the boat itself is spectacular. Lots to do and see, no question. The best pizza joint on the ocean and always stocked. Main dining, SUCKED. Food not good and most nights it was cold. Service sub par in comparison to other cruise lines as far as ...

Too Many People, Poor Service, Few Amenities

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

First, This is a big boat. But it's mostly storage for all of the passengers. There are not enough amenities to host all of the passengers comfortably. Many times we found we had to wait in lines to be seated for food, for soda machines, ice cream machines, and (most annoyingly) elevators (all the time). We chose this cruise because it was a 'DreamWorks' cruise. We thought it would be ...

Good experience overall, with a few major drawbacks

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

The two of us got onboard Oasis on 12/9 to enjoy the 8-day Western Caribbean tour. Overall, the experience was positive, as 85-90% of the trip was well organized and executed. The reason for 2-star rating were those few situations which RC could resolve, but they apparently have chosen not to. The ship was spacious, well maintained, and with a lot of amenities. Plenty of activities to choose ...

This was our first ever cruise, thought we would try, supposedly the best for my wifes 60th birthday. Wish we hadn't bothered. Arrive at Orlando airport, no rep to be found, having had a quick look round, I asked other reps, that were visible, in the obvious place, they told me Royal Caribbean had a desk downstairs. We found the rep, only to be told our transport had left with 2 couples that ...

Nor recommended if you are Diamond and/or Diamond Plus Elite Status

My wife and I are both Diamond Plus with Royal Caribbean and sail every 2-3 weeks from Central Florida Ports (Port Canaveral, Tampa). We earned our status and always look forward to the great service and recognition perks for our status. The Oasis does not give a hoot if you are Diamond Plus. You are treated like cattle. Royal Caribbean, Company Policy (fleet wide) is concierge lounge and priority ...

Waste of time and money

The ship itself is magnificent. There is nothing physical that is not impressive. Central Park is a wonder at sea. The Promenade is like nothing I could imagine. But, all that wonder ends when it comes to the amenities. The Cabin: While the cabin is adequate size and the balcony is generous, the rest is second rate. The bed had a foam layer with little cones on the mattress that made ...

Cruise with caution!

We chose this cruise with my in-laws and wife’s sister and her husband because it seemed like a good deal. $1000 each for a week on one of RC’s premier ships, the Oasis of the Seas. Be warned: this ship is worn out and so is the crew. It seemed that the crew is either brand new and knew nothing about this large ship or the crew is knowledgeable but rude and burned out from the multitude of guests ...
