Our embarkation and disembarkation experience for our trip with Oasis of the Seas from Port Canaveral was much smoother than from Fort Lauderdale. The Oasis of the seas is a very classy and luxiurios cruise ship which, eventhough the large amount of passengers, still handles and treats them with great attention and detail. Cabins are well attended by service minded attendants who remembers your name from day one. Dining room staff ready to serve and make your dining experience a pleasant one. Different interesting activities and shows during day and night. Every member of staff and personal, all over the ship, is eager to assist in all your needs. We ware already planning our next cruise for September 2017 on the sister ship "Allure of the Seas". Hoping in the near future these Mega Ships will also visit the lower Caribbean islands (Curacao and neighboring islands) as well as Central America. Read Less

Royal Caribbean is our cruise line of choice. We wanted to be within a reasonable driving distance from NC. Wanted to experience this larger ship. With the large amount of passengers, we were expecting a long embarkation. Pleasantly surprised as to how well this was accomplished. The same surprise was for the disembarkation. Both went very well. Once on board, we stopped at the information desk to obtain a deck plan and began to familiarize ourselves with the ship. This takes a bit of studying as the ship is so large. Even with the huge amount of passengers, we did not feel overwhelmed. Had requested a salt free diet when booking the trip. This was not a problem. After the 1st dinner the head waiter would bring us the menu for the following day and we could make our selections & the next days food would be prepared with no salt. Didn't take any shore excursions. Stayed on the ship in Nassau as we have been there a few times and wanted to explore more of the ship. In St. Thomas took a taxi to Coki beach and snorkeled. Beach is smaller than Magen's Bay but the snorkeling was much better. In St. Maarten took a taxi to Orient Beach. It was more difficult to snorkel because of the rough sea. The seas on the ship were rough for a few evenings so the Aqua show couldn't happen until the last day at sea. The CATS performance was astounding as the seas were quite rough. The Headliner show was great. The Ice Show and Aerial Show were very entertaining. It is a wonder how these performers and proceed with these show on rough seas. There was always something to keep you busy if you wanted to be busy. The Central Park & Boardwalk area of the ship is lovely, except when it rained but Central Park had umbrellas for your use. We chose Royal Caribbean because we had been told it was a great company, very friendly, and the ships were awesome. We booked Oasis of the Seas because of the activities it provided and we are SO happy. Activities: There was so much to do, the best thing on the ship (for us) was the FlowRider. That was amazing! The activities crew was so helpful and gave a lot of tips. Entertainment: The aqua show was also really cool. And the game shows were entertaining. Room: I would highly recommend upgrading to a suite, if you can. It made embarking/disembarking super fast and easy, the perks were great (special dining, wifi, and concierge help), and our room was big. My husband is 6'4" and I am 5'8", so we feared we would be cramped in a regular room, but the suite was perfect! We also had access to special beaches in port and were able to choose our own time for disembarking, instead of trying to exit with a thousand other people. Excursions: The ports were ok.... definitely do the zip line in Haiti (but take note that they are very pushy selling wares) and Dunns River Falls in Jamaica. Also be aware that excursions in Jamaica are about an hour from port, so you are at the mercy of whoever you book with for when you get to return to ship. Tips: Something we were not aware of is the tipping. Tipping is included in your room, but extra tipping is optional. We were told (by a bartender...lol) to wait until the end of the cruise then tip the crew members you really liked. Overall, we had a great time, experienced new things and people, and relaxed. Royal Caribbean definitely gives you a lot of options to make the cruise as adventure packed or relaxing as you want. We will definitely book again! Read Less

We chose the Oasis of the Seas because we wanted to try one of the larger ships in the RCCL lineup to see how we would like it compared to the medium class (like Vision of the Seas). We were not disappointed at all. We had a Crown Loft suite and the experience was Outstanding. Great Suite service & Costal Kitchen staff made the experience a 15 on a 1-10 scale. Obviously the room was pretty fab all by itself and it really felt like an "apartment" on the seas and we spent a lot of time on our deck and loved our views and the amenities of this suite class. Having the Costal Kitchen within a 2-3 min walk from our room was outstanding and the food and staff service was Outstanding. If I could get this setup on all my trips I would do this is a second, no-brainer. We also really like the Central Park experience, walking around in the open air, stopping for a bite to eat or glass of wine (we did the Wine Tasting at Vintages...would definitely recommend this one:) or grabbing a great dinner at Chop's. The Boardwalk and Promenade areas offer great options as well for other food and shopping. We got some nice watches at Regalia and even added to Tiffany's bottom line so you have some really good options to choose from. We didn't use many of the services onboard so you might ask why did you go for the big ship?? We did use all of the Suite services and having a private area to grab some sun, get a drink or dinner without fighting the crowds of 6500 of our "friends" onboard was very nice so we did not feel overwhelmed by the size or number of people because of these services. That was very nice and really helped with the experience we wanted for this very special Birthday trip. The ports were good and we liked the private beach in Haiti, with the nice lunch this was perfect. Easy access to the boat so it was great. Jamaica we just did a little shopping which was right there at the dock so it was a easy off, shop, and back on and then taking advantage of all the other services onboard or just hanging out on our deck. perfect. Cozumel is our favorite port with great shopping and you must hit Poncho's Backyard for some lunch and they have some shopping there as well. All in all we have a perfect time and a great vacation. RCCL is a quality product / service and one we plan to take advantage of again and again. Read Less

As first time cruisers, on the biggest ship, we did not know what to expect. Whether you come in by car, taxi, or shuttle you get in the same line as everyone else. The lines are long, but the entire process of going through customs, and then going upstairs to get in line again by group to get your ID/pass for the week goes smoothly and takes about an hour. Then you make your way into the ship and go to the elevators to find your room. If you were smart, you either changed that morning or brought clothes with you to change into. We went right up to the Solarium Bistro after checking out our room and found it easy to get lunch with plenty of places to sit. The food was great. Make sure you sign up with a group on cruise critic because they have an embarkation day get-together before leaving port, which is a great way to meet people and ask any questions you may have from people who have sailed before. The muster drill went well and only lasted about an hour. The captain does not speak until all guests are in their muster stations and accounted for. This was the longest part of the drill, probably because our meeting spot was just down the hall from our room. Leaving port was cool. If you had a room on the starboard side of the ship you got to see all the people waving goodbye to the ships leaving Port Canaveral, there were 3 ships that day. Dinner on the first night was in one of the main dining halls, called American Icon. The line of people without reservations was long so book early for my time dining. They ask you every night if you want to be alone or if you would join a group. I would highly suggest joining another couple or a group as it gives you a chance to meet people you may not otherwise have a chance to meet. Dinner conversations were memorable, and it was great to reconnect with the people when you saw them during the cruise. WHAT WE DID NOTICE on the first night and have not seen anyone else talk about was the movement of the ship. I am not saying it was a problem, but be aware that even though this boat is huge you can feel it move if the weather is rough. Made the trip more interesting, and didn't seem enough to get anybody sick. There is so much to do on the ship, don't try and do it all - there is not enough time. Look through the daily planning guide and pick the things that interest you. If you can, pre-book all the big activities like the ice show and the water show, they fill up fast. We found that the service was great, from the cabin cleanliness, to the friendly staff at the dining halls. Every employee we talked to was friendly and helpful. The ports were great for shopping and eating. Be aware that shore excursions can be cancelled because of weather or because not enough people have signed up. So we suggest having a couple of alternate options/ideas just in case. Disembarkation on the last day went as smooth as can be, you get sent off the ship in groups where you get your luggage and get in line to go through customs. We rented a car so all we had to do was find our shuttle to the rental office when we got outside. We booked out trip through Costco travel, they have great prices and often have cash back in the form of a gift card, and sometimes some other free perks. It may take some research but we found it easy to plan our own flights, hotels and rental cars. So if you have the time go for it. We plan to take another cruise in the future and try out some other islands in the Caribbean. Read Less

The food and the service was excellent.i was a little leery about going on a ship this large only having cruised on the Freedom class. we expected to stand in long lines but this was not the case. the cruiseline has thought this through and everything went smoothly. With our days at sea there were ample room to sit or layout near the pools and hot tubs. the lines at the soft serve ice cream stations were never very long, they even added strawberry flavor. We enjoy going to the Art Auctions onboard. They had something for everyones pocketbook. We cant wait to go again on this ship in November. Read Less

Did a back to back cruise in Feb 2017 we wanted to try out the large ship experience having been on the Anthem of the seas , we were not disappointed this is a great ship and although there were 6000+ people on board it never felt crowded, we were on freedom dining and although the staff in the restaurant were great we found the food a little disappointing, sure it looked great and was served perfect for us it lacked a bit of taste, so we ate a lot of the time in the windjammer it was quicker and more choice and tasted great, the whole ship experience was truly wow! there was so much to do and see i think there was still bars and restaurants we missed even after two weeks, we did the drinks package and enjoyed wonderful cocktails, beers and poolside frozen delights if you like to drink we would recommend you do this package as it saves a lot if you like to enjoy yourself, all the shows were marvellous the ice show and the Aqua show were very good, but i must admit Cats was a struggle to understand but then again i didn't understand it when i saw it in London 25years ago, everything else was top notch, the cafe in Central park is a must for beef lovers the sandwich they make at lunchtime is to die for we had many many of these, this was a great cruise and well up to royal caribbean standards, only down side was that Royal Caribbean only seem to do 1 week cruises and doing the back to back Eastern and Western Caribbean meant you have to return to port Canaveral half way and also visit Labadee twice, Its good but twice! coming from the UK its a long way to come for a 1 week cruise would be nice if you mixed them up a bit to give us 2 week cruisers a chance, you do have a lot of ships doing the Caribbean, also stopped off at Cozumel and did the Mayan Ruins tour this tour was in my opinion quite expensive at the ruins really are ruined theres nothing there except some stumps of rock in the ground just protruding the earth and although our Guide Emanuel was great and full of enthusiasm I'm sorry guys this was the worst tour ever, they then took us to a beach for an hour which i suppose was to justify the cost of this tour, which was nice but its a beach! had some food in the cafe there [ no comment ] Our Captain, Captain Rob was great very laid back and confident felt very safe in his hands, we were lucky enough to meet him in the bridge on our all access tour which by the way was fantastic and worth every penny if you are going to do a behind the scenes tour this is the ship! all in all a great cruise with a good mixture of age groups [ not saying i would like it when the kids are on holiday ] a wonderful experience and looking forward to my next Royal Caribbean cruise Dec 2017 definitely recommend this ship and would have no hesitation booking a cruise on it again, thanks guys...... Oasis of the Seas is a newer ship, Oasis has the best ship themes, Oasis of the Seas Central Park is like being in New York's Central Park. We felt like we were there. Broadway had a unique take on entertainment with the Aqua Theater and the Carousel and Jonny Rockets and the Hot Dogs place and ice cream shop made it an entertainment neighborhood in itself. The Promenade was so open and had so many areas of entertainment and dining - Cafe Promenade, Sorrento's Pizza, Starbucks, and the last nights parade. The shows were the best, the balcony overlooking Central Park was like living a high rise in New York NY overlooking the Park. everything about this ship is positive and the ships staff added a luxury to our over all cruise. We cruised on this ship 2 months ago and appreciate the variety of activities onboard and friendly cruise staff. The Diamond Club is awesome although I had to get the concierge to program in sea pass to gain access to the club. The air conditioning in the cabin was excellent. The stateroom attendant addressed our needs. The Windjammer restaurant was crowded during breakfast and so we dined in the Solarium each morning and enjoyed a pleasant experience. CATS was the main performance but was canceled until the last night. The matinee was full and we did not go to the evening performance as the performance was scheduled to end at 10:45 pm and luggage was requested to be in the hallways by 11:00pm The food in the main dining was awesome as well as the service. It appeared that the service personnel could use additional help due to the demands of the sold-out crowd. Priority departure did not seem to exist for Diamond members as our luggage tag number was 35 departing at 10:05 am. We decided to take our luggage ourselves and noticed a separate departing gate for some of the guests as we waited in a long line for nearly 45 minutes Read Less

We traveled on the Oasis of the Seas in February 2017 and it was an excellent experience, the best overall of 9 cruises on 3 separate cruise lines. Though we sailed as a couple, we paid attention to the features for children since we plan to cruise with our three children (8 and under) in the future. We were concerned about waiting in long lines due to ship size but did not wait at all for anything. (and yes, the ship was full) The crowd seems to be mostly senior citizens and families, which suited us (mid-30s) just fine. We did not do any shore excursions and spent minimal time at the ports as we prefer to be on the ship. Favorites about the ship: breathtaking design, delicious food, wonderful non-smoking policy, TREMENDOUS family appeal, fast and reliable wifi, plentiful hand-washing sinks, reminders and sanitizer, best cruise ship shower, disability-friendly. Design-I can't imagine anyone not being "wowed" by this ship. From the unique neighborhoods to the Rising Tide bar which actually moves between floors, this ship is absolutely incredible. Dining- ALL of the food was delicious. This really sets RCL apart from the other lines we have traveled on (Disney and Carnival). Somehow the food was flavorful without leaving a bad taste. We did the My Time dining with no reservations and we did not ever wait for a table. There were no long lines in the Windjammer either. Chops Grille was only OK; the food in the dining room is just as good or better. Family appeal-Nothing can match Disney for family entertainment, but RCL comes very close and with the amenities on board Oasis, surpasses Disney on the overall experience. The kiddie pool area is the largest we've seen, the pool deck bathrooms have changing tables, wipes, Lysol wipes and diaper genies. There are free life vests in 3 different child sizes on the pool deck. When entertainment had the potential to be adult-themed, this was made crystal clear in the daily guide, as well as by the person announcing the event. We appreciated this aspect so much! The age groups for the kids groups are 3-5, 6-8, 9-11 and 12-17. (unfortunately we forgot to research the info for the under 3 crowd) Dreamworks characters were present for photo opportunities, and I believe some Dreamworks movies were shown on board as well. Accessibility-- We saw many travelers in wheelchairs, both seniors and others with serious medical conditions. Everything seemed very accessible. In addition, we noticed many activities were marked "autism friendly." Smoking- This is the first cruise EVER where we have spent time in the casino and not come out smelling like smoke. The non-smoking area is huge and completely separated from the smoking area. If there are any other smoking areas indoors, I did not see them; we rarely smelled smoke on the ship. Things that could use improvement: ping pong tables need repair, many arcade games were broken, lack of interesting activities during the day, beds were too hard for our taste, ice cream machines are only open for about 6 hours a day (!) Tips: Embarkation-Arrive at 2pm or later on embarkation day. We had no waiting at all arriving at this time and were told that the wait is often in excess of 2 hours earlier in the day. Debarkation-Carry your luggage and exit early if possible! It took 2 solid hours once we left the ship to go through the luggage area and customs. Non-alcoholic drinks: You can use one "coke package" for multiple people. The person who has it on their card will have a "coca-cola" designation on their card where they can get unlimited sodas from the bars/restaurants. The souvenir cup they give you can be filled at the Coca Cola Freestyle machines throughout the ship. You can also purchase a punch card for 10 non-alcoholic drinks for the price of 8. (ask about this at any bar) Bottom line- We loved this cruise and can't wait to go on this ship again. We were nervous about crowds, elevators, lines etc. with having 6,000 passengers on board, but our worries were in vain. Everything ran smoothly and the ship did not seem any more crowded than the other ships we've sailed on. Read Less

The service was great. The staff was always smiling and helpful. The staff actually made the experience much better. I never felt like i was without a drink and and entertainment. The were many pool and never felt overcrowded. Every desire I had only seem a question away. There was so much to do. I could not keep up. Either relaxing at the pool or sipping champagne at the art auction, life was good. Me and my wife were actually a little depressed we had to leave after experiencing something so grand. This cruise selected because of ship. Wanted to try a much larger ship for a change. From parking the car and boarding (processing on board really fast) to getting off the ship everything was smooth. Dining room experience with Christobel and Yutong just terrific!! We had been to the ports before but tried zip lining. What a wonderful feeling. The only disappointing item of the cruise, there was a theme party on board and they took up one of the dance venues. Would not have booked cruise if I had known. Ship very clean and I felt the dining room dinners were quite sufficient. We didn't try the extra $$$ restaurants. Sometimes a little crowded with over 5,000 passengers on board. Two very good entertainment bands on board. Love to dance to their music. Watched stage show Come Fly With Me. Just terrific!! Very nice and roomy cabins but I think new beds would be appropriate. We had terrific cabin service with George Williams. I would give the ship an overall rating of 5 Stars. Will sail again with RCCL. Gary W. Read Less

Truly enjoyed that our Captain "Rob" is an American and his history of sailing is very interesting. The "Oasis" Class Ship are the very best inthe Cruise industry non to compare. Travelled with a loyal Royal Caribbean customer. The ship was amazing. So much to do and with all the square footage, there was very little "crowded" spaces. It is hard to believe there were 6000+ guests on board. Unfortunately, I had to visit the medical facility due to an injury which occurred 2-1/2 weeks prior to getting on board. I was treated very well felt like proper care was given. We were impressed with our dining room servers. Sari & Catherine made it a point to learn our names and remember little things that we desired with each meal. By the end of our 2nd night, we felt like family. They were extremely pleasant and tried to make sure we had everything the way we liked it. I don't know how other cruise lines run their business, but Royal Caribbean leaves little room for improvement. The experience was superb. I hope to sail again with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

DJ Al Brady was also very entertaining and he kept things running smoothly. Our entire cruise experience was great. The Oasis is a fairly new ship and was very clean and neat throughout. We especially liked the glass enclosed elevators. The unique areas such as Central Park with a variety of excellent restaurants (Giovanni's was great!), The Boardwalk amusement area with Johnny Rocket's, The Royal Promenade with shopping and more good restaurants, the Solarium on the bow were all very enjoyable. Our bartender Scott Carlton on the top deck was very friendly & timely with getting our drinks. If we had anything to say bad about our trip: It would the Artisan Village in Haiti- it was very overwhelming with the people trying to get you to buy from them. When we arrived we were in awe! When we got to the room, I laid on the bed and found it most uncomfortable and going down hill toward my head and sunken in the middle. Before the day was over, I had a new mattress! I truly appreciate that! Our Portman Dwight was great and very helpful. Dinner in Silk was always a wonderful experience! Our servers, Kevorn and Natilae were awesome. We kept him running and he seemed happy to serve. I cannot say enough good about the Ship its self! WE LOVED THE OASIS! My husband loved it most because it didn't move much. He gets sea sick easily. We loved the Solarium area and Central Park- just beautiful! Peaceful in those areas even with 5000 people! The 5th floor was fun- the entertainment was great. Actually best entertainment so far on our cruises that we have taken. The work out room, we really liked it as well. We worked out on three different days while cruising. We also ran on the track. That was a nice feature to have on a boat. The aqua theater was amazing! We loved the two diving shows! I enjoyed the ice skating show as well but I must say that I was terrified for the young girl who was swung around on that rink. Her head missed the rink by a fraction. It even caused me to yell out in fear. I really think that, that part should be taken out of the show. Her life really seemed in danger, the guy swinging her upside down was not that smooth in his lifts, so my stomach was in knots for her. I have never seen the play Cats before but the cast was so talented! We also saw the ventriloquist show which was funny. Our son participated in some of the competitions, The Belly Flop and Wall climbing contests. Those were fun to watch. We enjoyed the comedy show, but we really don't like vulgarity or foul language. I liked how some cruises have a clean version at one hour and then the Adult version later. But this ship did not offer it. Maybe Royal Caribbean doesn't do it on any ships, I don't know. Now I have big negative for this ship. We could not get ice cream late from a machine! We always like to walk around the ship before we go to bed and get us a little cone of ice cream. Everywhere that we knew to get it was closed. There may have been some machine open, but we couldn't find it. We even asked several workers and they did not know where we could get some. This negative does not affect our opinion of this amazing Ship though. It's just been our thing to do for the last 3 cruises, LOL! Our group had a lot of fun flow riding and zip lining on this ship. We also played putt putt and ping pong, this ship had something to do and something going on all the time. We have already booked another cruise with Royal Caribbean because we feel that the food and service are better than our 2 cruises that we took with Carnival. Highly recommend this particular ship! Shopping on the oasis was also great. I don't think I missed one shop. There were many good sales and deals available every day also. Of course we spent some time in the casinos which we loved. Only cruise with Royal. We have been on every class of ship I think. Didn't like small one like the Majesty. Oasis was huge. We like the class of Independence, Freedom and Liberty. Overall though Royal is our home on the water when we cruise. I would recommend Royal to anyone. It is relaxing. Food is great. The décor was nice. Ship was easy to get around on; never got lost; lol. Room was very quiet; never heard noise from outside. Ate at my time dining for dinner every night. Food was fantastic. Had the best waiter. Going again in 2018 in Feb. Might go again for a short cruise later this year. We go out of Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale; very easy to check in and getting off at end of cruise. If you haven't tried Royal; give them a whirl. you will love it and will do it again and again like us. Read Less

My husband and I have never been on one of the huge ships so when the opportunity came to try it for relatively cheap, we jumped on it. This particular cruise stopped in Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Cozumel, Mexico. There were three sea days in this itinerary. Overall, we had an amazing time and are very happy with this cruise. Port Canaveral: As far as ports go, it is easy to access and not too far from Orlando, however, it did not seem very organized. In fact, the day of departure was crazy. We rented a car from Avis at the airport and returned it to their location at Port Canaveral. The rental car companies all over shuttles to the ships. We got there extra early and took the shuttle. We had to wait an hour and a half in the parking lot at the cruise terminal because there was so much traffic and confusion. This is not on the part of the rental car company and due to the lack of organization at the port. I overheard other guests saying this ship was recently moved to Port Canaveral and that they did not have the "kinks" worked out yet. So please give yourself plenty of time to avoid any stress on the day of departure. Likewise on the day you return to port. We waited in very long lines for US Customs but it do go relatively quickly. Room: We chose a B1 category stateroom 8723 that overlooked the Boardwalk. I wanted to say thank you to other reviewers who posted the room lay-outs. We choose a room with the bed by the balcony and not by the closet. There is plenty of storage but I did run out of hangers. You may want to bring some extras if you are the type who likes to hang all your clothing. No complaints about the room, bed, or bathroom. We were very happy with this stateroom. There was a special for booking that category stateroom: free soda package for two, free lunch/dinner at Johnny Rockets for up to four, and a free rock climbing session. The great part of the room is we had a wonderful view of the Aqua Theater and actually watched the show right from our balcony. If you do not stay up late, this may not be the location for you as the sound from the Aqua Theater can be quite loud. General noise from the Board Walk was negligible. Our room steward, Dmytro, was amazing. He will take care of you. Period. I intend to write a letter to Royal Caribbean praising him after I write this review. Entertainment: Overall, the best entertainment I have seen on a cruise. We have only been on 6 but this topped it all. I do recommend that you use the cruise planner to make reservations to the shows before you leave. We were able to secure reservations to the comedy show, Come Fly with Me, Frozen in Time, and Cats before we left. However, I was only able to get one ticket for the comedy show. It "sold out" that fast. With that said, the Cruise Compass on the first day does say to go to Guest Services to make show reservations as soon as you get on board but what they didn't tell you (and we figured out by chance) was that you can make the reservations right on the TV in your state room. I was easily able to make the second reservation for the comedy show minutes after arriving in our room. Familiarize yourself with the TV options. We found this useful extremely helpful. I forgot to print out our calendar to keep track of our reservations but quickly found out each person's calendar and reservations are available on the TV. Great feature! As others have stated, the Aqua Theater show Oasis of Dreams is frequently canceled due to weather. (It is a great show and worth it). The first night it was canceled because it was raining and windy when we left Port Canaveral. It was rescheduled and a message was sent (via your state room "email" on the TV) stating the days/times it was rescheduled. The Come Fly with Me was canceled as well because of technical difficulties. While we were disappointed, the replacement show (an act with Ronn Lucas, renowned ventriloquist) was so damn funny! Frozen in Time was AMAZING and so was Cats. The actors are extremely talented. The actress who played Grizabella has a voice that will literally bring you to tears. She is that good. The Comedy Show was hilarious too. We highly recommend those shows! Of note, if you are unable to make a reservation, the staff open up the venue to standby guests 5 minutes before the show. So, to those with reservations, you need to be there at least 15 minutes early and to those without reservations, standby seating is opened up to those who are there first come, first serve. The other smaller acts were amazing too. Particularly, the Sweet Sounds Duo. If you like classical music (and even if you don't, you probably will enjoy listening to them), they will definitely impress you. They play a lot in Central Park and by accident, we happened to schedule a reservation at Giovanni's when they were performing. If you plan on dining in the specialty restaurants, look to see if they are performing and try to schedule your reservations around that time. Wonderful experience! I can't speak to any other venues like the clubs, bars, etc. We didn't go in those places but did see others having a blast when we went by. Dining: We have never done the Specialty Dining on a cruise but were curious about it so we stopped in to look at the menu the first day of the cruise. They had a special going and I highly recommend that you stop in the first day to check for any specials. The one we purchased was three visits to any of the Specialty Restaurants for $85 a person. GREAT deal when you look at what it costs for one person. We ended up going to Giovanni's once and Chops Grille twice. We were so happy with the food and service. Allow two hours for dinner at these restaurants. They do not rush you and want to make sure you enjoy your time there. On the other nights, we ate in main dining in the Grande Dining room on deck 4. Also another thank you to reviewers here, I emailed RC dining before the cruise and requested a table for 2 again. Each time I have done this, we have received our requested table. If you are more extroverted, you probably would enjoy eating dinner with others but we tend to keep to ourselves. One other advantage is you don't have to wait for 6-8 other people to decide what they want to eat. The food in main dining was very good and the service was great as well. For breakfast we ate at the Wind Jammer and the food was decent. It is your typical buffet style breakfast. Good variety of foods are offered. There are quite a few places you can eat. We frequented these places and also Sorrento's. Love the pizza on demand feature. :) Sports: The ship is equipped with a sports court (best one we have seen), a mini golf course (eh), five ping pong tables (in good shape with brand new paddles), sports pools, two rock walls, two Flow Riders, a zip line (goes over the Board Walk), and other things. The reason I gave the mini gold course an "eh" is because the golf balls were not real (hard foam) and the clubs were for someone who was 4' tall. They did not offer different sized clubs. This is not a big deal but when you are super competitive like we are, it does factor into the equation when one of us beats the other. LOL We did not go in the pools or hot tubs but will say there are plenty of them around. Neighborhoods: There are seven different neighborhoods on this ship. Central Park was by far my favorite. I spent as much time in there as I could. I cannot believe that is on a cruise ship! My advice is to explore and check each one out. Definitely neat and different from any other ship I have been on. I did not reserve spa services so cannot speak to that this time. Shopping was good on the ship. There are some high end stores on the ship (especially for women's handbags) but also decent priced goods too. I bought souvenir t-shirts for $10. Make sure to check your merchandise for any defects. I bought a shirt and didn't notice there was a hole in it until I took off the tags. I had no problems exchanging for another shirt. Shore Excursions: We booked two in Labadee and really enjoyed this stop. We booked the Snorkel Safari (tour code QLB2) and the Jet Skis (tour code ZL03). On the Snorkel Safari, they take you out on a boat to a reef and you have about an hour to explore. The reef was beautiful and was teeming with all different types of coral. There were fish and other marine life but not in abundance like in Coco Cay, Bahamas. (The area is over fished.) Still very beautiful and a great place to snorkel. The guides were great and would point out various marine life and if they were safe to handle (for both us or the marine life), they would gently pick up and show it to us. The snorkel equipment was good quality too. No issues there. We both drive our own Jet Skis after and if you have never done this and you're not afraid of speed, you HAVE to do this. I was beaming like a little kid. I started in the back but was quickly moved up to the front at the first stop. (People who go faster are in the front and slower people are put in the rear to not hold anyone up). So much fun!!!! The only part I didn't like is at one one the stops, locals kayaked over to us and tried to sell us stuff (while we are on Jet Skis). That wasn't part of the tour but something they did to try to help the locals. Speaking of locals, outside of the tourist area this is a very poor area. The merchants in the main shop are not pushy but as soon as you walk outside the main shop to the lines of shops, the locals can be very pushy about getting you to come in their shops and look at their goods. On the plus side, you can barter a great deal on items if you can deal with the pushiness. We did buy from both the main shop and the locals to help support the area. Falmouth Jamaica: We did the Dunns River Falls and Jamaican Bobsled tour tour code FY25). LOVED it! Note to those going on this tour: wear a bathing suit or other swim wear and only carry what you need to the Falls. Leave everything else on the bus or in a locker. I can't tell you how many sunglasses, phones, etc fell into the current while we were there. If you take a camera or phone, make sure it is waterproof and has a strap. You are climbing the falls and will get soaked. Also, buy water shoes with some decent tread for this. These are a must. A videographer goes with each tour group and you can purchase the video and the photos they take (all on a CD) for $40 (cash only). If you want this, please bring the money with you. We didn't know this and didn't bring enough money to the falls to get the CD. Also of note, the videographer noticed we did not fill out the slip for the video and approached us separately. He was trying to negotiate on the price and was willing to give it to us for much less so keep that in mind when you are purchasing it. We didn't purchase it because we wanted to make sure the driver and tour guide received a good tip. The tour guide at Dunns River Falls will expect a tip as well. We had Tammy and she was worth it. Other tour groups kept looking over to ours because we were having so much fun. After we did this, we went over to Mystic Mountain for the Bobsled portion. The lifts were broken so the bus drove us to the top via a private access road. You have the option of being joined to another sled or going down individually, whatever suits your comfort level. There are signs that state going too fast endangers you and the person in from too you. Not to worry, they allow ample space in between you and the sleds that go before and after you. I asked the attendant if I could go "wide open" and he said "of course....drive it like you stole it." And so my husband I did just that. We went individually and we both had the sleds wide open the whole time. Fast, a bit jerky and rough but fun as hell! We were smiling ear to ear after that ride! Cozumel, Mexico: We did the Jeep to Punta Sur Eco-Park (tour code CZ4P). This is quite frankly the only thing we were not pleased with the entire trip. The description of this reads exactly as follows "Snorkel at an ecological preserve, visit a Mayan ruin, climb a lighthouse and relax on a beach. Explore a vibrant underwater world teeming with a wide variety of marine life (all gear included). Relax or play on Explora beach; a remote, white-sand beach, one of the best beaches in the country." Now the facts. Most of the Jeeps are manual transmission. This was not an issue for us but for others, it may be. You don't get your own Jeep (unless you are a group of 4). We booked it thinking my husband and I would have our own Jeep. WRONG. They put you four to a Jeep and when we complained because it is clearly not stated in the description, the tour guide replied with "that's how we do it." We we offered our own Jeep if we paid more. We refused. We were put with another couple who thankfully was a pleasure to be with. If you get stuck with some idiots or those who do not want to share driving, you are frankly SOL. Also, the tops were on the Jeeps. What's the point of driving a Jeep if the top remains on? That was also disappointing and unfortunately, the disappointment did not stop there. The snorkel equipment was not the same quality gear that was used on the Snorkel Safari in Labadee, This equipment was terrible and many complained that their masks leaked, snorkels weren't working properly, etc. My favorite thing to do is snorkel and I read reviews on this and many said this was a great spot to snorkel. This had my very confused when we snorkeled right off the beach and all we had to look at was sea grass and the occasional bits of coral and fish. There was hardly any coral or fish and certainly no reef. This leads me to think we were not brought to the reef people discussed in other reviews. (Reviewers stated that location takes some time to swim to and our guide literally kept us right off shore). I will say the beach and lighthouse were wonderful but you are barely given any time to enjoy them. The Mayan Ruin is about the size of the shed and a disappointment if you have been to other ruin sites. The tour operator was Explora Caribe and we frankly were not impressed. I will be writing a letter to RC to complain about this shore excursion. Consider yourself warned if you are considering this tour. Aside from this experience, we had a great time and would recommend this cruise. Hopefully this review is helpful to those considering this cruise. Read Less

Oasis of the Seas was recommended to us by our daughter who went on the Allure of the Seas in Dec. She gave us a detailed lay of the land. There was so much to do that we only had our bathing suits on once in 7 days and since we've been to the Caribbean many times, we did plan on venturing far, although, the excursions looked like crazy fun. The ports were great, clean, secure, and lots of shops. Central Park is upscale with shopping and restaurants with in a tree and shrub cricket chirping setting where we enjoyed classical music Piano and violin several nights. We had an inside cabin...set your alarm so you don't sleep too long. Our Porter was attentive and kept our room very tidy the room size was large enough. Don't eat too much food or you may need to bring the Tums! A variety of delicious foods. The wait staff were always accommodating and we never felt rushed. We didn't partake in the young peoples entertainment but did enjoyed the Diving and Ice shows and movies under the stars. One show was cancelled but replaced with a hilarious ventriloquist! . This Grandma did the zipline and next year I plan to do the rock climbing wall too! We went for the ship amenities and the ship did not disappoint!!! Read Less

As i read some of the reviews, I can't believe I was on the same ship.We have sailed over 25 times and while we have visited better ports, we have never been on a better ship. The service is attentive, the meals are great, and the atmosphere fantastic .Imagine sipping a glass of wine in a tree lined park while listening to the soft sounds of a piano/violin duo without a bob or a roll from the sea despite the 20 knots. Picture yourself in an outdoor theater watching gymnastics, diving, syncro- swimming and remember your on a ship. Watch an ice skating show, a full production of Cats, or watch or partake in rock climbing, zip line and flow riding and much more. Enjoy the Caribbean warmth in a wonderful solarium without ever leaving the ship Oh, the balcony room was a little more compact than we expected, and the use of light colored carpets can be questioned, but overall the ship was excellent Read Less

The ship is fine and lovely with many activities, beautiful music, the staff took good care of us, good service, the food was excellent everywhere all around the ship, interesting trips to new never visited places, we relaxed and forgot work, the sun was shining and we had good time, people were in good mood and they were joking, we also ran and walked on the board, when the sun rises. Sometimes we felt that the music was too loud and then it was not enjoyable, for instance in Broadway and we saw people holding their ears and then we hurried up to another places. The atmosphere in Central Park Was peaceful and we enjoyed to listen classic music there and the Cats was very good with good singers and dancers and good humour. The American people were polite and kind and they laughed a lot and were joking and it was fun to get to know them a little better. We didn;t understand everything when the captain spoke, because of the language difficulties and sometimes people spoke too quickly so it was hard to understand. We understand better written texties than spoken ones. Read Less

This is one of the largest cruise ships with great entertainment and excellent food and amenities. Went with two other couples and had a wonderful time! Service is top-notch! Not crazy about the caribbean ports. They all seem very similar with the same activities and same shopping. The size of the ship, of course, increases the number of people and length of lines which is something to keep in mind when choosing your cruise. The fact that you can walk through "Central Park" on your way to dinner or to dancing is unlike any other cruise experience we have had. The Southside Band which performed in Dazzles nightclub was probably one of the best cover bands we have ever heard. Would definitely love to hear them again. If the opportunity arises in the future to cruise on this ship again but maybe to a different destination, we would definitely be interested. Read Less
