Beautiful ship but Royal is cutting back

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

embarkation took us close to hour mostly to get through security and we arrived around 12 pm. Once through security check is went very fast! Main dining room was just ok food not great, we don’t expect our food to be cold after waiting so long and it was bland and the variety has been cut way down. We think Royal has now so many specialty restaurants with better food as they want you ...

Amazing Ship...RCCL has gotten too greedy!!!

This is my 3rd time on the beautiful Oasis. I have also sailed on her sister ship the Allure. As far as ships go, the Oasis is awesome. The Aqua Show and the Ice Show are fantastic. I think the Broadway show Cats the Musical is a poor choice for a cruise and not only was the theater not full but more than half of the guests left mid-show...not because the performers were not talented but ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

Big ship, pretty, clean, friendly staff, not many activities or variety, food wasn't great, did not feel like it was very fresh all the time. The shows were AWESOME, the waiters at the main dining room were very attentive as well as the cabin steward. Towel stations were not always open, which sucked. Having a 16 years and older area (the solarium) is cool, but it could also be 18 or 21 and up ...

Not what I had hoped for...

We sailed on the Oasis of the Sea to the Western Caribbean but Tropical storm Beryl had threatened to make it an Eastern Caribbean cruise BUT at embarkation it changed back to the original cruise schedule. So some fun of "where are we going?" BUT MAKE SURE TO HAVE SETSAIL PAPERWORK HANDY!! It makes it much smoother. I think the A/C didn't work in any area of the ship. Hallways, stairways, ...

Overall Enjoyable Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

One of the bigger ships from Royal Carribean - the customer service was exceptional, the staff was friendly and courteous and the food quality tad above average. Lot of activities and plenty to do for families with kids. Separate sections for teen and kids activities. I would recommend spend few hours on the first day to acclimatize yourself with the ship as it has lot of places to ...

The GOOD, BAD and UGLY of our Cruise OH AND THE GGGREAT

THE UGLY: I would first say that you should not book PRE or POST hotel via the cruise line. They put us up at the Park Inn by Radisson, which they referred to as a resort, well I guess they have never tour this hotel. It is a run down, filthy, unsafe place that has a staff that could care less. And after a wonderful week on a cruise ship we had to stay here again. When we got off the ship ...

Large Ship with LARGER Crowds - PROs and CONs

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

My family (ages 52,46,50 and 21) chose the Oasis based on what it has to offer. The size of the ship, rock climbing walls, flow rider, zip line, ice skating and the distinct neighborhood themes are all very alluring when shopping for a cruise. We have cruised on 11 other ships but will not do an Oasis class cruise again. Here's why with positives followed by negatives: Quality of food at the ...

Cruise ship focus is on making more money

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

The people are friendly. The food is great. The ship's focus is on making money rather than amazing experiences. Sure you have freebies that are provided, but be prepared to be in an Oasis of money sucking restaurants, services, shops...We sailed with the hope that this would be the best cruise ever (it's our third and most expensive cruise so far), but we were disappointed. Free ice cream is hard ...

So-so Customer Service

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

The ship is huge and amazing. I think I can write a novel describing our week long cruise on this ship. Biggest thumbs up are embarkation and disembarkation. A ship this size and more than 6000 people - embark and disembark are very smooth and very fast. I've been to other cruise ships with less than half capacity of Oasis, and it took forever for embark and disembark. Promenade on Deck 5 is ...

The best part of the cruise on the Oasis was the shows

We chose this cruise to experience the new ship. Our attendant for our stateroom was exceptional...Her name was Vierna, and she went out of her way to give us the best service possible, and truly upholds the standards of Royal Caribbean. Our dining room experience was great. The cleanliness of the ship was great. In the future I would not choose a cruise that sailed three days in a row.I ...
