I would highly recommend the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Sea to anyone, especially as a honeymoon, but really for any sort of vacation or occasion. We had a balcony room on Deck 12 which was a very nice room, we enjoyed being able to sit out on the balcony in the morning/evening or when we were coming into port. Our stateroom attendant, Jermaine, consistently went above and beyond to make us feel at home, highly personable, went of his way to ensure everything in our room was to our satisfaction and along with the other housekeeping staff did what they could to make us feel special on our honeymoon. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jermaine. The food and service in the American Icon dining room were top notch. We were so impressed by our servers (which having been a server in the past, I'm a fairly tough critic), we actually reserved at table in their section every night. Trust the waitstaff recommendations on dinner options, every time we selected something they had recommended we were highly pleased with it. Honestly, don't bother spending the money on the specialty restaurants. We went to one and talked to other couples who went to a couple of the others and all of us agreed, that the food in the dining room was just as good if not better and the service was better than in the specialty restaurants. And for some great drinks in a really nice atmosphere check out the Trellis Bar in the Central Park Deck 8 area of the ship. Jude and his fellow bartenders always treated us great. The activities on the ship were a lot of fun too. You could make the trip as relaxed or as busy as you wanted. We loved the Honeymooner's get together - what a great idea to give all of us a chance to get to know each other. We forged a friendship with another couple that began in part through our attendance at the Honeymooner's get together. We also absolutely loved the night time game shows (love and marriage, battle of the sexes, quest, perfect couple, etc) and attended every one. As a singer, the Rock a Rokie karaoke with the band was so much fun, definitely something you should keep. The headliner show, ice show, and aqua theater show were all amazing. We didn't get to see the Come Fly with Me show because of technical difficulties -- we were disappointed but of course everything can't be perfect. But they did offer up other activities in its place. The quality of the entertainment was truly top notch. Our ports were Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. We did the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim in the Bahamas. This was a bucket-list item for me and my husband and it was worth every penny we paid for it. We each got a "foot push" by the dolphins, got a dolphin hug, kiss, danced with them in the water, and more. Neither of us will ever forget that. At St. Thomas we went snorkeling and on a catamaran sail ride. The snorkeling was ok, we saw a lot of turtles and our guides were great, but I wish the area we snorkeled in had more coral reef or colorful fish. Finally in St. Maarten, we took it a little easier and went on an island tour by bus to see both sides of the island, did a little shopping, and took tons of pictures. All in all, it was the most amazing honeymoon we could ask for. Thank you Royal Caribbean and Oasis of the Seas! We will definitely be back! Read Less

We went on a 7- night cruise for our 10th anniversary and I don't think we could have made a better choice. Royal Caribbean does such an amazingjob with everything: food, service, entertainment. You can really tell that everyone on that vessel takes great pride in their work and ship. Highly recommend this cruise! The excursion options were great. Each stop had something to offer, some the same and some unique to the locations. The daily itineraries they deliver each night along with the shopping guide are so helpful in planning your next day: whether it's figuring when to do what or what time the eateries will be open or letting you know the currency of your next destination or even what time you can catch the sunrise. We constantly referred back to those. And of you left yours in your room, there were some available at the customer service desk. There is no way to be bored on board either. There is so much to do. Again, I highly recommend this cruise experience. Read Less

This is my 3rd time on the beautiful Oasis. I have also sailed on her sister ship the Allure. As far as ships go, the Oasis is awesome. The Aqua Show and the Ice Show are fantastic. I think the Broadway show Cats the Musical is a poor choice for a cruise and not only was the theater not full but more than half of the guests left mid-show...not because the performers were not talented but because the show is just weird. As far as my overall experience, let me just share that I am almost a "diamond plus" member for RCCL and I have been very loyal to their brand for almost 20 years. Not any more! I was appalled at the constant "nickel and diming". I knew in advance that for the four cabins I was paying for (3 central park balconies and one junior suite) that with the alcohol package, specialty dining, excursions etc. that I would be paying just about $20,000.00 for the cruise. Little did I know that where popcorn used to be free, they now charge your $2.50 (plus 18% service fee) for a tiny little bag. Room service used to be free - now $7.95 plus the 18% service fee. My spin class had a $20 charge but then they added the 18% service fee (and the instructor was horrible - didn't even stretch us at the end of class. When questioned about not stretching he said that in "boot camp" - which also has a surcharge, they will stretch me!!!). When have any of you ever paid your aerobics instructor a tip? Toooooo Much! Cupcake class - surcharge, sushi class - surcharge, tour of the kitchen (used to be free) - now $30 plus 18%, craft workshop - surcharge, card making - surcharge, body sculpt - surcharge, spin class - surcharge, yoga - surcharge, wine tasting - surcharge - even with the alcohol package!!!! I would much prefer that I was charged $22,000 (vs. $20,000) and EVERYTHING (with the exception of specialty dining, alcohol and gambling) was included. On to the never ending service charges.... Years ago, staff members worked very hard to secure their tip. These were the days when service was excellent. The harder the staff member worked to make your vacation as perfect as possible, the more money they made. About 8 years ago, the cruise lines decided to change this and offer prepaid gratuities. This wasn't such a bad concept because it alleviated the need to hand out cash on the last night to all that helped make your trip special. This has completely taken a wrong turn! For this trip, I prepaid ALL gratuities for my entire crew. Because I know that these service fees are shared among the entire crew, I always bring a few hundred dollars in singles to hand out to the staff member that does something "special". I paid so many service fees, I gave up on handing out the singles. My one specialty dining waitress even suggested that I tip her because she will not see the 18% that I prepaid. If I am paying $180 in specialty dining service charges and the waitress is not seeing any of it (or very little), then where is it going? Do I really need to tip her more one top of the $180? The very last night, My cabin steward gave me an envelope that said "tip, tip hooray" for extra good service. Yes, he did a good job but he was already tipped when I prepaid my gratuities. Do I need to give more than the prepaid amount when he was just doing his job - nothing more, nothing less? You cannot have it both ways Royal - either remove the auto-gratuities - which will promote the excellent customer service you once offered - where your staff earned their tips...or put it in place for your cabin stewards and wait staff ONLY! My next cruise will be with Norwegian Cruise Lines. I like the concept of FREE alcohol, gratuity, excursions, internet and specialty dining!!! Ps. I prepaid the arcade card for my teens to get the online discount - at least half of the games were not in working order. Pay a little extra and buy the arcade cards on ship so you don't overbuy like I did. Read Less

This was our second time in the oasis class ship! However for overall nightlife and partying the smaller ships tend to be better! Great shows on this class of ship! Cats was amazing and we actually saw it twice!!! Over all would recommend! Our cabin was a Central Park balcony cabin that unfortunately was next to a screw service area that ended up very loud at various times! On the bright side of the cabin the balcony was double the size! Dining was very good with plenty of options to eat! We ate at 150 central one night and it was absolutely amazing! Windjammer was very good and plentiful! Our first seating dining was good but we wanted to be seated with people but did not get a chance to dine with anyone! Summertime allows to be a lot of kids to be in these ships and we prefer not to be seated with kids at dinner time! We love Royal Caribbean and would recommend the oasis of the seas! Read Less

One of the bigger ships from Royal Carribean - the customer service was exceptional, the staff was friendly and courteous and the food quality tad above average. Lot of activities and plenty to do for families with kids. Separate sections for teen and kids activities. I would recommend spend few hours on the first day to acclimatize yourself with the ship as it has lot of places to explore.Crowded ( 6,475 cruisers) and if you plan to attend shows, you need to reserve seats before hand and show up 30 minutes before the show time to get good seats. One thing I didn’t like was that RC loves to nickel and dime on extras; great example - box of popcorn for $2.50 and 18 % gratuity on top of it. I am not a first time cruiser so was a little disapppointed and surprised by some the antics RC uses. Read Less

Big ship, pretty, clean, friendly staff, not many activities or variety, food wasn't great, did not feel like it was very fresh all the time. The shows were AWESOME, the waiters at the main dining room were very attentive as well as the cabin steward. Towel stations were not always open, which sucked. Having a 16 years and older area (the solarium) is cool, but it could also be 18 or 21 and up (did not have any problems with it though). I would recommend including more activities for diverse cultures, i/e more music, salsa lessons, Caribbean beats, Irish dance, something fun and innovative that inspires the guests to try something new. Less ridiculous prices and better photography crew. Some of the pictures they took from us were out of focus or out of the background area, plus the price to pay to get the pictures was too high. It should be more accessible so that all families can afford to bring home their vacation pictures and memories. It was a good experience overall. Read Less

THE UGLY: I would first say that you should not book PRE or POST hotel via the cruise line. They put us up at the Park Inn by Radisson, which they referred to as a resort, well I guess they have never tour this hotel. It is a run down, filthy, unsafe place that has a staff that could care less. And after a wonderful week on a cruise ship we had to stay here again. When we got off the ship at about 9am we where shuttled back to the same hotel, who refused to check us in until after 4:30pm because there check in time was 4pm. while waiting in there lobby we were told we could not use there pool, or internet cause we were not officially guest, and having no place to put our luggage we were stuck in there lobby until checked in. THE BAD: 2 of the 3 excursions were a waste of time. The Labadee Jet Ski is for beginners only they don't have it grouped experience riders and I spent most of my time waiting on the group and being told to shut my Jet ski off. Falmouth Jamaica was even worse, most of the time was spend just waiting on guides to take us to another line. meeting time was 1045am waited in covered area with a 500 other people and when you ask were you need to go, some one would tell you they will call your group soon. Left meeting area (on a different bus then our group) just before 12 NOON. was taken to the CHUKKA facility to go zip lining, rafting, lunch and swimming. The guides on the zip line and tubing were rude to most our group. lunch was underwhelming and I left hungry, and didn't have time to go swimming because of there disorganization . Each of these guides emphasized tipping and to be honest I didn't tip them. I did make sure the lady who was keeping the bathroom clean was tipped because she took pride in making sure they were very nice. THE GOOD: let just go to the GGGREAT THE GGGREAT:) Will start with the 3rd excursion Cozumel Mexico we went to EXPLOR in Playa DEL Carmen. This by far was my favorite, well organized from the beginning to the end. our guide Alberto was great he was there ever time you needed him. First part was the 3+ hours of Zip lining was way to cool, and worth every calorie burned. from the views to the actual zipps to the water landing zipps loved loved loved this excursion. Next was the ATV buggies were ok but on a controlled track so fun was limited. Lunch was next, they had a huge spread of food and it included fresh cooked hamburgers and steak. Next was the rafting and swimming in the caves it was wonderful but to short, but only because the time we have to allow to get back to the ship. I would do this excursion again well worth the money. The main dining room has all ways been my preferred dining option, because people like our server John (Table #434 late) works hard for you to have a great time and experience, great job and thank you John. Another person who made this a cruise to remember is a FLOW RIDER staff member for spending the time not only with me but every one he help on his shift at the Flow rider. I wish I could remember his name (I am sure he knows who he is and the good job he does). Overall this was a good cruise and if RCI would address information issues it would have been absolutely a great cruises. Read Less

My family and I absolutely loved the trip. Son could not wait to get back to the Kids Club area every night, which allowed for my husband and I to have some great Rest and Relaxation. Food was amazing, something for everyone and plenty of it. Activities seemed never-ending! We spent 7 nights on the ship and still did not do everything we wanted to on the ship. Staff was very kind and engaging, excursions were great. This trip was worth every penny. We are definitely going back. The shows were fun and engaging. I really enjoyed the outside theater. The any time dinning was great, allowed us to eat any time we were hungry and we had a table all to ourselves. Making reservations were simple and they were always accommodating. Internet service was great but make sure you get it before you board the ship it is so much cheaper. They even had a professional photography studio onboard which is nice because it is always hard to find the time and opportunity for those family photos. Read Less

The ship is huge and offers so many activities that we needed all seven days to explore everything. We enjoyed the perfect amount of rest and relaxation, while also enjoying activity. We did my time dining in the American Icon restaurant, and it seemed like one side had better service than the other. However, the food was always great, especially the desert. We always ate breakfast at Windjammer, which has a buffet with anything you could want on it. Sorrento's was always the go to in between for pizza. One place you have to visit is Cups and Scoops... Cupcake Sunday... Your choice of cupcake and your choice of Ben and Jerry's ice cream with whatever toppings you want. The stateroom was amazing and always kept really clean. One thing that was surprisingly pretty clean all the time was the public restrooms, but the staff did a good job keeping everything clean. The entertainment was really good! The bands played well and singers sang well. Jazz band was a favorite. Boleros was always full of Latin flavor, and the Temperature band in Dazzles did a great Earth, Wind and Fire tribute. My favorite port of call was St. Martin, even though it's still pretty damaged from the two hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunami they had. There are lots of damaged buildings, buildings that are completely gone, and shipwrecks in the water still. However, we did a cool excursion through Royal Caribbean that took us on a double decker bus to a rum tasting, gelato place, and cheese tasting. We also got to see Maho Beach for a short time. Overall, we had a blast! Spent too much and ate too much, but it was worth it and you only live once so we splurged a little. Read Less

Everyone on the Oasis was kind and polite. The ship had so many activities that I couldn't get to them all. The shore excursions were fantastic. The dining on board was varied and the service was great. Our housekeeper knew us by name and always spoke to us when he saw us. Everyone was willing to go out of their way to make our experience special. The only annoyance was getting off the ship at the ports and getting to the excursion meeting spot in a sea of people who didn't know what they were doing. The shore excursions crew were very vague about the meeting points, mostly just telling us "you'll see it." They also rushed us and threatened to leave us, but every single excursion started late. The excursions themselves were amazing. We snorkeled in Nassau, toured St. John when we stopped at St. Thomas (and still had plenty of shopping time in St. Thomas), and took a 6-hour island tour by boat in St. Maarten. In each case, the boat captains, taxi drivers, and crews were knowledable, fun, and polite. Read Less

I, my fiancee and her adult daughter, wanted to experience a cruise on one of the Oasis - class ships. We booked the Oasis of the Seas, and it was fabulous! I had never been on such a large ship before, and I was worried about how crowded everything might be, especially since I use a scooter. My worries were without basis, since the ship was easily-accessible and the staff we encountered were terrific. Our embarkation was incredibly fast and without any issues. Disembarkation was the same, even though we decided to handle our own luggage. Everyone made it so easy, and I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly it went. My fiancee and I had a Jr Suite with an oversized balcony, which was spacious and very comfortable. I use a scooter and I was pleasantly surprised at how much room there was for my scooter to be parked and even, turn around. Although we had signed up for "My Time Dining", we soon fell in love with the Windjammer, with so may options. Even though it was buffet-style, there was an overwhelming choice of food, with multiple desserts and more choices for appetizers, sides, entrees, etc. And best of all, you could go up for as many trips as you could fit! LOL Entertainment was professional and very high quality, which I would expect at locations like Las Vegas. We especially enjoyed the performance of Cats and the rock 'n roll revue, but every show we attended was wonderful. If you can't find something to do every minute of every day, then it's all your fault! There is something for everyone, and if nothing else, there are many pools and hot tubs available. Look for the free custard (cone) machines - they were a wonderful way to cool down after swimming or sunning. Drink service was also excellent, with staff coming around regularly to bring you your favorite drink. Our shore excursions were lots of fun, including our tour of the Atlantis at Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas. This resort is one of the best in the world, with lots of things to see and do. I stayed at the Atlantis in 1998 and there is so much more to it now. Make sure you get to see the amazing aquarium, with sharks, barracuda, manta rays, and many other genus of fish. Unfortunately, St Thomas did not offer any accessible tours, however, we made do with nearby shops, bars and restaurants. There was also free entertainment at the port (steel drum band). Our stopover at St. Maarten/St Martin, was good, with an accessible tour available. Our one disappointment was that there is still a lot of residual damage from hurricanes Irma and Maria, with missing roofs, walls and lots of tree damage. It was sad to see all the damage, especially after having been in St Maarten in 2009 and enjoying t very much. Overall, we were thrilled with our cruise and we look forward to another one soon. Whether you are a veteran cruiser or a newbie, Royal Caribbean knows how to treat you and you will soon be convinced that cruising is a great vacation alternative and experience. Read Less

We were celebrating our anniversary. Embarkation at the Port Canaveral Pier was easy with no hassles or delays. A far better experience than the first cruise we took a few years ago. The service we received on board was excellent! Our cabin attendant was always very cheerful and extremely helpful providing assistance throughout our voyage. We cannot say enough about the wait staff in the American Icon Dining Room. They exceeded our expectations every night. We felt welcomed every time we dined there and they even remembered our names. That's quite a feat considering how many people they serve on a daily basis. The excursions were fun as well. However, we were very dissappointed with the 5 Star Island Tour in St. Thomas. The staff at Magen's Bay (gift shop/restaurant/bar) were rude and unaccommodating. They had beach umbrellas but refused to rent them even though it was a very hot day. They had negative attitudes toward the guests and service was very slow. The beach was beautiful but until the vendor enhances their customer service, I would not recommend this excursion. Other than that, we had a great experience on this sailing! Read Less

The ship and itinerary matched the experience I was looking for. Stayed in Crown Loft Suite. I think this is the best suite/room I have stayed in on any ship. I like the ports of call with Nassau being the least favorite. Would have rather spent a day in Labadee or Cocoa Cay instead of Nassau. The amount of time in Nassau is too short to enjoy the expensive water park at Atlantis and too long if you are just in the market area. The rest of the island is pretty sketchy. Saint Thomas and Saint Marten are recovering from the hurricanes steadily and are great ports of call. Tivi resort in Saint Marten was a great place to spend the day. Clean bathrooms, restaurants, shops and bars. Good selection of water sports as well. The Oasis is now my favorite class of ship. The only suggestion is to add water slides (on Oasis itself) for the kids like other ships have. Dining at Coastal kitchen and access to the concierge lounge made the cost for a loft suite hold more value. Complimentary drinks throughout the day and evening was also a bonus. Main dining room was good and having other complimentary dining such as park cafe was a nice change. Wi-Fi was also included and worked better on board this ship than it had on others. Always enjoy the on board entertainment, quality performances by very talented individuals. Overall it was a great vacation and we were blessed with great weather and flat seas. I highly recommend the Sky class suite experience if you can get a decent deal. Though it isn't cheap it comes with many perks and advantages. The drawback is once you have experienced this level (or higher like Star class), you wont want to go back. Its the difference of flying first class VS coach, except you live it 24-7 for a week. The ship was absolutely beautiful. The entertainment was incredible especially the Aqua show and the Headliner show. We stayed in an ocean view balcony room on the 10th floor. I thought it was quite spacious and waking up to the view of the ocean is priceless. We mostly ate breakfast and lunch at the Windjammer Cafe because we had dinner reservations at many of the specialty restaurants. Giovannis was a great Italian place right in the Central park area of the ship. We also bought the Chefs table which was incredible. The wine and food were exceptional. Everything from start to finish was perfect. The only con I would give is the time spent in line waiting for our shore excursions that we purchased. We waited outside in the sun for an hour waiting for them to take us to a shuttle for our excursion. Did get very frustrating especially since we were only at places for a couple hours. I do understand that they need to organize a lot of people, but waiting over an hour was a bit redic. This is my only con though. Everything else was absolutely perfect!!! There is something for EVERYONE on the Ship and in the ports! The food in the Windjammer, Wipe Out Johnny Rockets and the Solarium for Breakfast was very good. The variety was AMAZING! Windjammer was were we at for lunch and it had too many options of food! That was a good thing! We only ate in the Main Dinning Room (American Icon) at night. We had My Time and had a VERY rocky start but finished well. We like to meet people and in the beginning they insisted on putting us at a table for two! We did end up eating with another couple nights two on. It was GREAT> The food was AMAZING. Many choices for appetizers, main dish and dessert! Our room was GREAT. We booked a little late but the room fit our needs very well! Alex our room Steward was AMAZING . . . Hope we have him on another cruise. Best cabin Steward we have ever had with Royal Caribbean! ! ! We will cruise again as soon as we can because we loved it so much! ! The ports were Amazing. We enjoyed Bermuda the best as we have been to St Thomas and St Martin several times but we still enjoyed them! We love doing our own thing at ports of call and did so this time. We enjoyed the sea day too. There were many activities on the ship but again we did our own thing. Both embarkation and debarkation went VERY smoothly! Port Canaveral is one of the easiest ports for BOTH getting on and off the ship! VERY organized and VERY effecient in ALL respects! We have used five RC ports and by far PC is the BEST! Read Less

I chose RC at the last minute becasue we got a great deal. Whereas the overall ship was impressive to look at, it lacked a lot of details. ! of the 2 Drink machines ourtside of Sorrento's did not work the entire cruise. Do they not have a spare or someone that can fix these? 1 of the 2 ice cream machines by the pool only worked the first day. Once again, really?? I was unimpressed the free food choices. They want you to pay for anything above buffet food, basically. I've been on a few Carnival cruises and the Guy's Burger Joint was always packed and the food was wonderful! The "air-conditioning" in the cabin was a joke. I was told that it "met specs" by putting out 20.7C air. However, it could not remotely cool the room down. It took 2 dyas and 10 calls to Guest Services to get the champagne and cupcakes my wife had ordered for my birthday. Everyone seemed clueless when we even mentioned it! Our Kind converted twin beds would not stay together. I would wake up in a hole almost every night. I was not impressed with the food in the American Icon dining room and I reapeatedly had to ask, every evening, for a refill on my iced tea. The staff was very friendly though. The Windjammer conistently ran out of food options. The "taco bar" section only offered tacos and meat. I don't get it! My wife and I haved loved the piano bar on Carnival cruises. The Oasis piano comlpetely lacked any enthusiasm from the piano player and the seating arrangements had most people sitting with their backs to the piano which left them discconnected from the experience. I'm not sure if I will give RC another chance or not. Read Less

Cruising with Royal Caribbean is easy & hassle free. Beach towels are readily available, as well as bathroom re-stocking. Being on The Oasis of the Seas is like a floating city because of the restaurants, activities, shows, & constant events. If you like to relax, it’s also the perfect place to just lay out, swim, join the spa or hot tub, & just have drinks (or eat literally anytime you want). The food is my favorite part. The main dining rooms have elaborate 3 course meals, & the Windjammer has a huge variety from breakfast, lunch, dinner, & desserts. This doesn’t even include the restaurants on board. Extremely family friendly, there is a ton to do for kids, but they do a great job giving adults their own space, as well. Everyone goes above & beyond to be at your service. The food was very average and disappointing but the service was great. I think that the excursions we chose were over priced and disappointing and it would be good for Royal to give a better description of them even though I did google them and read about them on other sites. Travel time to and from the excursions is very vague and frustrating. The entertainment was great although the descriptions could be better for those as well. The worst part of the cruise was disembarkation and driving thru the line to pick up our luggage. There is not enough direction or workers to help facilitate the chaos and it became a free for all - in other words, the rudest people just did what they wanted and the rest of us tried to manage our way through it. We will travel on Royal again but will go on a newer ship. Read Less

We had been on Allure a few years ago and loved it, so we wanted to try the sister ship, Oasis. I would still rate Allure a bit better as far as the food that was offered, but most of our meals were very good. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly, especially since we had everything done online ahead of time. We also had booked all our entertainment ahead of time and made sure our friends were on the same schedule with us. We enjoyed the "my time" dining since it was nice to be flexible and not have to stop enjoying the pool and jacuzzi to get ready for dinner at a specific time. All the shows were spectacular! We loved the Las Vegas Tenors and my personal favorite is the diving show in the aqua theater. We found that if we got to each show about 20-30 minutes early we were able to get the seats we wanted. Since there is so much to do, we never felt like we were on such a gigantic ship. I knew I wanted to try the zip line since I had not done it on Allure, and my only regret is that I waited until the last day to do it! It was great and I would suggest you try it on the first sea day so you can go on it again. I was in search of the wonderful omelets and crepes I had remembered on Allure, but never found them. (someone told me you had to pay extra for omelets? not OK!) When we slept in and wanted a simple breakfast we would go to the Cafe Promenade at Central Park. It's not an extra charge and we liked being able to eat out among the trees. The children's pools were so fantastic it made me want to bring my grandkids next time. Overall, it was a great cruise! I felt totally relaxed the entire trip. The service and staff are incredible. The ship is unbelievable, clean, up to date, with more things to do than you can possibly accomplish in 7 nights. Some of the other, more negative reviews, complain that the ship is very full and reservations are required for most things. While this is true, I feel that RCI is very up front about this and give you many opportunities to make said reservations. It's unfortunate if some people did not realize this, but even on a full cruise like mine it was still possible to get into many of the larger events without a reservation. Smaller events like the aqua show and the comedy club are a little trickier. Specialty restaurants were never full, but I'd still recommend reserving them if at all possible, especially Izumi as they only have two hibachi tables and fill up quickly. The food in the specialty restaurants was incredible and a great value. These are meals that on land would cost you $100-$200. The quality of the food, the selection, the staff, everything is top notch. I can't say the same for the main dining room, however. We had one meal in there and the food was worse than in the buffet. It's incredibly loud and the service was not up to par. I'd recommend buying the specialty restaurant package and sticking with that, supplementing with Sabor/Johnny Rockets if need be. I'd also recommend avoiding the windjammer for breakfast. The food is good enough, but the crowd is ridiculous. There are plenty of other places to eat breakfast for free that won't be such a hassle. My overall point being that even on a ship with 6,000+ people, if you manage your time wisely, make reservations for things that require them, and spend a little extra on the food/drink packages, you'll have a fantastic time. If all you're going to do is eat at the windjammer/main dining room, pay as you go for drinks, and just chill by the pool, you may want a smaller and less crowded ship. Read Less

We chose this cruise ship because it's one of the bigger ships of Royal Caribbean. What a great decision we made! The ship was gorgeous and there so much to do we didn't get a chance to do everything even though we had a 7 day cruise. We tried to attend every event we could. The activities were amazing! We loved the Aqua Theater, what great talent. They kept us entertained the entire time! The Headliner show (Las Vegas Tenors) had amazing voices, they were awesome! Frozen in Time, oh my goodness! It was Amazing!! That was such amazing ice skating skills. They told a story with every movement! Its a must watch!! You cannot miss it. Come Fly with me show was great also. Our dining experience was amazing. We had a waiter that was so attentive and professional. The food was delicious! My husband even chose 2 plates at times because it was so good! Read Less

This was our first RCI cruise, after several on Carnival. My favorite thing was the ship's layout, which was very well designed and surprisingly efficient, considering the number of passengers. However, the staff service was very hit-and-miss. Some of the crew were amazing (our room steward and head waiter and Champagne Bar staff were all great). Some of the other staff (particularly those from Jamaica) were passive-aggressive or outright rude. Overall on the ship, I felt 'nickel-and-dimed' at every turn, which is tacky. The dining room is made to feel second class next to the "premium" restaurants, which are heavily and repeatedly advertised all over the ship. There was a constant message that "if you aren't paying extra, then you're missing out". For food, there were no decent hamburgers or tacos without paying extra in the specialty restaurants (yes, the buffet had a semblance of both at times, but the quality was sorely disappointing). In comparison, Carnival ships have both Burger and Burrito/Taco offerings, as well as Mongolian Grill and Italian restaurant options included at no extra cost, which added great value and a sense of class. Our stateroom attendant made us feel special, was genuinely caring and he had great attention to detail. Our room was spotless and he never missed a thing. He was somehow always there, but yet never underfoot (we called him our 'room ninja'). Our favorite bartenders were at the Champagne Bar. Before the cruise, I was most excited about the Irish Pub, but ends up it had the worst service on the ship, even after several attempted visits on different days, and they kept running out of things! One day no Hefeweizen (so I went to Sabor, and they had it there). The next day, no Stone IPA. And for the whole cruise, they didn't have key ingredients for many of their specialty cocktails on the menu. Drink service in the main dining room was very slow, as it would normally take 10 or 20 minutes for a glass of wine, and our drink waiter didn't know anything about wines. In Vintages (wine bar), the man working had absolutely no interest in discussing any of the wines that were included in the drink package, which we were eager to try and learn about. He only wanted to talk about $200+ bottles, or the $80 tasting event. When we politely declined his (continual) offers to up-charge us, be became very stuffy and it was apparent he couldn't wait for us to leave and go somewhere else. So we left, skipping the tapas we planned to purchase. As a whole, the bar staff on the ship worked very, very hard to accommodate all of the guests, mostly to impressive results (excusing a handful of rude crew), but it was clear that they were significantly understaffed which was wearing on them, and therefore impacting the final quality of both the drinks and the service. This could have been greatly improved with a few more hands to help during busy times. On Labadee, we weren't able to eat. One side of the island didn't have enough plates, so the line was long and wasn't moving. So we walked to the other side of the 'island', and while they had plates, the line was just as long. We checked back in an hour for the lines to die down, but they remained until it closed, so we didn't eat. (Granted, we could have stood in line for 30 minutes, but who wants to do that). Drinks were abundantly available and bar service was very quick however. The local Haitians were pushy and obnoxious every time we walked by. They would yell "hey! hey! hey! I have an important question!" to try and get us in their shop, or they would tell passing ladies how beautiful they were to try and make them stop. Some variant of this happened at least 25 times to us, so I didn't want to go that way again. For shows, the comedians were the best show the whole week! They were clever and witty, without being too crass. We watched the family and the adult show. I would have VERY MUCH enjoyed more standup comedy shows, instead of the same show repeating every night of the cruise. In conclusion, it was a very enjoyable cruise, and we are happy to have tried the world's largest cruise ship. I still think that Carnival has a better included Menu and a nicer Crew, but RCI certainly wins with the best ship! My wife loved Central Park and the large variety of well manicured plants (she is a landscape designer), and even with a full ship, it was always possible to find a quiet 'neighborhood' to get away. Thank you for a great week! Read Less

The person that worked on out room was great. Very friendly and accommodating. She have an excellent knowledge of the ship and what was going on and answered every question we had. Also, the service and food on the My-Time-Dining was excellent. My wife and I are telling all our friends and family how great the service was. We like so much the service and attention from all in the ship that we already booked 2 more cruises. We are looking for 1 or 2 cruises a year. Please be sure to let them know how much their services are appreciated. I was planning to take a lazy week at sea (3 cruising days) to rest from the toils of work. Well, I was wrong. There is so much to do and the shoes are great that I need a vacation to rest from the vacation.  The people on the Royal Caribbean cruises are wonderful. Read Less

We highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Royal Caribbean to everyone!!! This was our first cruise and honeymoon cruise and it was just extraordinarily fantastic! Really, there aren’t enough words or emotions to express how wonderful the overall experience was on the Oasis of the Seas! The entire staff is very friendly, the shows are like watching blockbuster shows, the activities are endless, the food is like eating at a 12 star restaurant the entire sailing, the cruise director and captain is very informative and caring for all the guests, the stateroom was barely lived in because there was sooo much fun to experience but the balcony is definitely the way to go when sailing!! The ports staff is just as grand! The excursions was an absolute blast! I could write an entire novel on the whole experience but I just want to tell everyone that sees this, take a leap of faith and do Royal Caribbean, I promise you will not be disappointed one bit!!! Thank you Royal Caribbean!!! Read Less
