Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

We chose this cruise because of the available shows, specifically the production of Cats and the Ice show (and off day ice skating opportunity). And the shows did not disappoint. Their production of Cats was Broadway quality and the ice show was amazing. We also enjoyed the Dive shows and Headliner show. Of course, to get decent seats (even with our prebooked reservations that we made online ...

Finally a couple of good desserts

Royal Caribbean's main dining hall food isn't as good as Carnival, especially not their desserts. However, they did make one dessert I liked this year. It was Warm Dark Chocolate Cookie with Ice Cream and it was very similar to the unbeatable Carnival Warm Chocolate Melting Cake. Although they still don't have as many onboard staff-directed family fun activities like Charades, Pictionary, Bean ...

Lower your expectations

We chose this cruise because we were RCCL Loyalists. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. Service had declined in many areas from the number of dining room attendants per table to what is offered on the menu to even getting freshly ground pepper on your salad. The shows although extravagant, were actually boring. for example the ice show had a child's theme. When in a port of ...

Too much time at sea

This was a group tour. The ship is nice, but the cruise is all about the ship. I prefer to see new ports and experience new sights. The Central Park in the Oasis class of ships is really great. Its nice to see plants when sailing for 3 days with nothing to look at but water. The food in the main dining room was very good. Service in the dining room was slow, but friendly, and they tried to ...

We recently cruised on a B2B with another couple. We have been on a few Voyager class ships before as well as Oasis & Allure and enjoyed those cruises very much. The customer service on Oasis this time was terrible. We encountered numerous problems and spent hours at Guest Services trying to get them resolved. I had a $50 onboard credit that they screwed up and I never received while onboard. ...

Big Ship - It is showing its age

Looking to try a large ship. This fit the bill. The entertainment was very good on the ship except for CATS (not my cup of tea) Since it was such a large ship we felt the need to schedule all the entertaiment which did take the fun out of being able to make changes to your schedule as you were affaid of being blocked out of the show at a latter time. We had shows cancelled and the rescheduled ...

DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE SEAS

Dinning in main dinning room had great staff but some were very unsure of there duties, also food was lesser quality than on other cruises we had been on. Shows were cancelled a lot do to rough seas (which i understand) but they brag this ship up to not having much motion due to its stability system and it was the worst voyage we have had during every day of cruising . Smaller ships we were on ...

We chose this ship for the experience of the larger ship. It was indeed an "experience". PROS - beautiful, modern ship with great entertainment and activities. Embarkation and Debarkation went smoothly. Our dining room servers and cabin stewards were absolutely wonderful. CONS - too many people, things seemed a bit unorganized. They had no record of our onboard credit, lost one of ...

Slipping value and service

It’s been awhile since I’ve sailed on Royal, Carnival treats us great so we never have a reason to look at other options. I do remember the last time thinking Royal did a little bit better service wise and food being slightly better. But after a few years I guess that has changed. I found the service below Carnival now, the value way below, and the cleanliness was eh... The positives were the ...

Oasis of the Seas, Average and disapointing

This was a massive ship (And very nice too), but customer care terrible. Massive queue to get on, Food below par - Certain restaraunts were terrible for the quality of food, and staff were un caring. Main ding restaraunt - The table was facing a wall and in a crap position and when we tried to get moved they refused our request so we sat basically on our own all week. Customer ...
