We choose this cruise it was the greatest experience offered and had value. We loved every minute of it. Despite of the overall age difference on the boat we made some friends and had a great time. The service was great. The staff was always smiling and helpful. The staff actually made the experience much better. I never felt like i was without a drink and and entertainment. The were many pool and never felt overcrowded. Every desire I had only seem a question away. There was so much to do. I could not keep up. Either relaxing at the pool or sipping champagne at the art auction, life was good. Me and my wife were actually a little depressed we had to leave after experiencing something so grand. The Oasis my are honeymoon perfect. We will be back again and again. Thank you for making my experience a one to brag about, Read Less

This cruise selected because of ship. Wanted to try a much larger ship for a change. From parking the car and boarding (processing on board really fast) to getting off the ship everything was smooth. Dining room experience with Christobel and Yutong just terrific!! We had been to the ports before but tried zip lining. What a wonderful feeling. The only disappointing item of the cruise, there was a theme party on board and they took up one of the dance venues. Would not have booked cruise if I had known. Ship very clean and I felt the dining room dinners were quite sufficient. We didn't try the extra $$$ restaurants. Sometimes a little crowded with over 5,000 passengers on board. Two very good entertainment bands on board. Love to dance to their music. Watched stage show Come Fly With Me. Just terrific!! Very nice and roomy cabins but I think new beds would be appropriate. We had terrific cabin service with George Williams. I would give the ship an overall rating of 5 Stars. Will sail again with RCCL. Gary W. Read Less

From the embarkation to the disembarkation everything went very smooth. We love all of the Oasis Class Ships. We usually have a Junior Suite or Grand Suite and it is amazing. Top notch entertainment. We will cruise on the Oasis again...soon. All the wait staff, Room attendant, security is top notch. The Opal Theater Show are Broadway class shows. Truly enjoyed that our Captain "Rob" is an American and his history of sailing is very interesting. The "Oasis" Class Ship are the very best inthe Cruise industry non to compare. We have been cruising for 26 years and in the past 15 years we have become very "Loyal to Royal" we highly recommend Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines to all our friends. Please do yourselves a favor and if you have not cruised with RCL then give them a try on your next cruise. You will not regret it! I promise! Read Less

Travelled with a loyal Royal Caribbean customer. The ship was amazing. So much to do and with all the square footage, there was very little "crowded" spaces. It is hard to believe there were 6000+ guests on board. Unfortunately, I had to visit the medical facility due to an injury which occurred 2-1/2 weeks prior to getting on board. I was treated very well felt like proper care was given. We were impressed with our dining room servers. Sari & Catherine made it a point to learn our names and remember little things that we desired with each meal. By the end of our 2nd night, we felt like family. They were extremely pleasant and tried to make sure we had everything the way we liked it. I don't know how other cruise lines run their business, but Royal Caribbean leaves little room for improvement. The experience was superb. I hope to sail again with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

AAA Carolinas / Rocky & The Rollers Rockin The Caribbean was a great music experience. Rocky and the Rollers is a great band. Rocky's featured entertainers, Freddy Cannon, Gary Puckett, Gary Lewis, The Tokens, Johnny Tillotson, The Dovells, The Crests, Little Peggy March, Johnny Contardo, Bowzer and Sha Na Na, Dennis Tufano, were all excellent. DJ Al Brady was also very entertaining and he kept things running smoothly. Our entire cruise experience was great. The Oasis is a fairly new ship and was very clean and neat throughout. We especially liked the glass enclosed elevators. The unique areas such as Central Park with a variety of excellent restaurants (Giovanni's was great!), The Boardwalk amusement area with Johnny Rocket's, The Royal Promenade with shopping and more good restaurants, the Solarium on the bow were all very enjoyable. The service staff were all very friendly and helpful. They seemed to give maximum effort to providing a good cruise experience for everyone. Disembarkation was a breeze. We were in our car and on our way home by 7:05 AM! Read Less

The ship's captain was very friendly & approachable. The food from all the restaurants was excellent. The entertainment was excellent Come Fly with Me was our favorite. Our bartender Scott Carlton on the top deck was very friendly & timely with getting our drinks. If we had anything to say bad about our trip: It would the Artisan Village in Haiti- it was very overwhelming with the people trying to get you to buy from them. Also the unloading of your luggage off the ship upon returning our suitcase was taken by another passenger & one the staff member on the pier was rude & stated " It's not our fault" I felt like he was blaming me for the lost of our suitcase Read Less

This was my first cruise, and I chose this one because of the ship. It's huge and offers a lot of activities. The ship is beautiful - I recommend taking the all-access pass behind-the-scenes tour to learn about how the ship works, from dining services to the bridge. It's worth the $119. The crew works very hard, but they seemed to be under staffed. Buffet dining experiences were chaotic - I recommend doing the dining rooms for breakfast and lunch. In Nassau, I recommend scheduling an excursion, even if you don't like scheduled excursions. The shopping experience in town, which is within walking distance of the ship, is disappointing -- lots of dirty shops filled with tourist junk sold by aggressive sales people. In St. Thomas I recommend taking a taxi and skipping the ship's excursions! Explore on your own, but DO NOT get into a "gypsy cab." We discovered Secret Harbor, a resort on the east end of the island. It's about a 45-minute cab ride, and it's quiet, beautiful, and the staff is amazing. A lot of locals hang out there, which tells you something! Prices for drinks and food are reasonable. In St. Maarten, take a cab to Orient Beach. Not as friendly as St. Thomas, but every bit as beautiful. It is overrun with tourists, but the beach is so big that you will be comfortable. Read Less

Great times with great music. The Rocky and The Rollers groups were excellent, Freddy Cannon, Gary Lewis, Gary Puckett, The Crystals, The Tokens, The Elegants, Johnny Tillison, Lennie Welsh, The Dovells, The Crests,The Buckinghams lead singer et all GREAT ENTERTAINMENT, congratulations to Rocky and AAA. Bathroom in our balcony room was SMALL. Bed and closet are side by side ...very close. Waitors and room steward did well and were quite helpful. Meal variety not extensive in the Main Dining Room but the extra cost specialty restaurants were exceptional. Drink prices were excessively high..$9.00 for a beer and $14.00 for a mixed drink either slowed you down or cost as much as another person on the cruise. The drink package was $56/day which said you had to have seven beers to break even or a least five drinks per day. We all slowed down on our consumption. The crew was ill as Cats was cancelled due to four cast members being unable to persform. What the flu like virus was, it spread to our group and we lost four people for three days plus sleeping the cruise away. Upon return to port there were also a number of people ill. Total was: flu 12 and 8 marginally ill. Maybe the ship could/should have done something. Would we come again? Yes but we'd be sure to have a flu shot and some meds to combat any medical issues. This ship is so much fun and because of amazing attention to detail and design actually has a more intimate feeling than smaller ships even though the ship is gigantic. Each neighborhood has much to do and to see. This makes the ship a lot of fun to just explore and walk around and enjoy. The crew is super friendly and goes above and beyond. The cruise line needs to address serious issues of consistency!! As Diamond Plus, no priority line for Guest Relations when most other ships do. Then a fee of $35 PER DAY to use the sauna when other ships are complimentary, crazy rip off! And poor communications from Miami delivered to guests like telephone instructions to contact Johnny Rockets for a reservations when they only take walk ins, and complimentary cover charge for up to 4 with no explanation that guests MUST be in the same stateroom...just ignorant and a waste of my time which is NOT appreciated when I am on vacation and trying to relax! When we arrived we were in awe! When we got to the room, I laid on the bed and found it most uncomfortable and going down hill toward my head and sunken in the middle. Before the day was over, I had a new mattress! I truly appreciate that! Our Portman Dwight was great and very helpful. Dinner in Silk was always a wonderful experience! Our servers, Kevorn and Natilae were awesome. We kept him running and he seemed happy to serve. I cannot say enough good about the Ship its self! WE LOVED THE OASIS! My husband loved it most because it didn't move much. He gets sea sick easily. We loved the Solarium area and Central Park- just beautiful! Peaceful in those areas even with 5000 people! The 5th floor was fun- the entertainment was great. Actually best entertainment so far on our cruises that we have taken. The work out room, we really liked it as well. We worked out on three different days while cruising. We also ran on the track. That was a nice feature to have on a boat. The aqua theater was amazing! We loved the two diving shows! I enjoyed the ice skating show as well but I must say that I was terrified for the young girl who was swung around on that rink. Her head missed the rink by a fraction. It even caused me to yell out in fear. I really think that, that part should be taken out of the show. Her life really seemed in danger, the guy swinging her upside down was not that smooth in his lifts, so my stomach was in knots for her. I have never seen the play Cats before but the cast was so talented! We also saw the ventriloquist show which was funny. Our son participated in some of the competitions, The Belly Flop and Wall climbing contests. Those were fun to watch. We enjoyed the comedy show, but we really don't like vulgarity or foul language. I liked how some cruises have a clean version at one hour and then the Adult version later. But this ship did not offer it. Maybe Royal Caribbean doesn't do it on any ships, I don't know. Now I have big negative for this ship. We could not get ice cream late from a machine! We always like to walk around the ship before we go to bed and get us a little cone of ice cream. Everywhere that we knew to get it was closed. There may have been some machine open, but we couldn't find it. We even asked several workers and they did not know where we could get some. This negative does not affect our opinion of this amazing Ship though. It's just been our thing to do for the last 3 cruises, LOL! Our group had a lot of fun flow riding and zip lining on this ship. We also played putt putt and ping pong, this ship had something to do and something going on all the time. We have already booked another cruise with Royal Caribbean because we feel that the food and service are better than our 2 cruises that we took with Carnival. Highly recommend this particular ship! We enjoyed many different areas of the ship. The dining rooms are unbelievably beautiful. The shows we're super. There are many restaurants serving everything one could imagine. Shopping on the oasis was also great. I don't think I missed one shop. There were many good sales and deals available every day also. Of course we spent some time in the casinos which we loved. The crew was just the best. They made every day special! There was something to do at all times for everyone's likes. We loved the shows and music, dancing and partying in general. We were with a group of 51 people and a good time was had by all. We enjoyed every minute of our cruise and look forward to our next cruise vacation. Read Less

Only cruise with Royal. We have been on every class of ship I think. Didn't like small one like the Majesty. Oasis was huge. We like the class of Independence, Freedom and Liberty. Overall though Royal is our home on the water when we cruise. I would recommend Royal to anyone. It is relaxing. Food is great. The décor was nice. Ship was easy to get around on; never got lost; lol. Room was very quiet; never heard noise from outside. Ate at my time dining for dinner every night. Food was fantastic. Had the best waiter. Going again in 2018 in Feb. Might go again for a short cruise later this year. We go out of Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale; very easy to check in and getting off at end of cruise. If you haven't tried Royal; give them a whirl. you will love it and will do it again and again like us. Read Less

Selected the Oasis for cruise length, departure port (we live in central FL) and to try a big ship with lots of amenities. Reviews for Oasis looked OK, not as high as Disney but better than Carnival/Norwegian. Embarkation was a disaster. Our stateroom was occupied (luggage open, clothes out, shower recently used - but no one in the room) when we opened the door at 2 PM. Customer service told us our room was “blocked,” we shouldn’t have been assigned the room and that they would have a room available an hour after departure – immediately asked for the manager - the CS Manager told us this was unheard of, that she would determine the cause and get it corrected - we told here we don't care about the cause just get us into a stateroom - same story, wait until an hour after departure - she told us to leave our bags in the passageway outside the stateroom until we had a room (that sounds safe - not) – we refused, so she told us to bring them to the customer service desk – again, we refused and said Oasis crew could move the bags. The CSM could/would not guarantee the stateroom we would eventually get would be our class stateroom or better (ocean view balcony) – without that guarantee we would not sail. About 10 minutes before the ship sailed the CSM was able to figure out we could use our stateroom, a contractor had been put in the wrong stateroom (ours - 2 doors down needed the repairs) and as soon as the room was refreshed (530 - an hour after sailing) we could move in. When we got back to the stateroom the head was NOT clean, stains on the toilet, etc. Floor attendant said the stains couldn’t be removed – got the deck supervisor involved and we were able to show them both how to remove "stains" - nearly 5 minutes of effort was required. Finally had a clean room - after 6 PM, over 4 hours since first opening the door - just about enough time to unpack and get ready to be 15 minutes late for dinner at Chef's Table (see below). CSM called that night to ask how we were doing – and offered to get us “appropriate compensation” for our time and trouble. CSM eventually (late the next day when we went to her and asked) offered us 40% off our next cruise as compensation (knowing this was our first – and now honestly our last – cruise on RC). She “could not” offer either a beverage package or internet package as immediate compensation on this cruise when we asked – not "in her authority" and eventually credited us with a shore excursion during the Jamaica port call and inclusion in the “behind the scenes” full ship tour. Inadequate at best. On the 3rd day the room steward noticed my companion got some makeup on her RC robe so he sent it out for cleaning – good catch – but apparently there are 2600 staterooms and NO extra robes onboard as we had to wait for the next day to get the cleaned robe back from the laundry. Food: Only great food experience was the Chef’s table – excellent all around, highly recommend it, but steep at $95/each. Room service breakfast was good. Food in the main dining room is pedestrian at best and intolerable at worst (example – the “lobster bisque” was the consistency of thin tomato soup – no lobster). Seafood soup in Giovanni’s Table (another fee restaurant) contained shrimp and oysters – the shrimp still had the shell on the tail and the oyster was still attached to the shell – apparently on RC soup is finger food (we know dinner leftovers are used in soup – could you make it a LITTLE less obvious). The rest of the meal at Giovanni's was not much better. Food safety is also a problem – at Izumi Hibachi the chef dropped a piece of cooked chicken on the table, then picked it up (using his utensils) and put it back on my dinner companion’s plate (ever seen the rag they use to clean the tables?). During dinner in the main dining room a replacement knife was brought to the table by a waiter holding the knife in his bare hand - by the blade, not the handle (this was caught and corrected by the headwaiter). The french fries at Johnny Rockets were fantastic – until we found several with blue/white hard droplets on them (waiter took them back – came back out an apologized and said they believed some of the plastic bag the fries are packaged in got into the fryer - that seemed a reasonable explanation – and comp’ed us one of our two lunch fees - $6.95). During the ship tour one of the head waiters gave a demonstration of how a table is set for a formal night (the rest of the tour was quite interesting) – had the waiter's assistant made a big show of putting a glove on his right hand to handle plates/utensils while he talking about RC's commitment to food safety, then the assistant picked up a stack of butter plates using his ungloved hand with his thumb in the center of the food area on the plate - apparently unnoticed by the headwaiter. In Cozumel the starboard side of the ship was being cleaned – apparently you cannot pull into a pier with the port side of the ship so as we were leaving the ship we were rained on with the wonderfully clean water from the cleaning of the ship – nearly the entire length of the ship as we left from the forward gangway – guess no one thought to close the forward gangway while cleaning the ship. Labadee, Haiti - do the zip line - it's expensive but quite a thrill. Falmouth, Jamaica - did the combined Dunns River Falls climb/Swimm with the Dolphins experience - both great, wonderful guide, but took up the entire day, left only 20-30 minutes to shop in the port. We sent a letter to the RC CEO with the details of the embarkation, never heard back (same week that Majesty of the Seas was delayed leaving Port Canaveral due to a failed USCG inspection so he and his customer service VP may have been a bit busy). This was only my second cruise (first on Celebrity Silhouette - a very good experience), my companion has been on four previously (MSC, Carnival), this was our first and will be the only RC cruise we ever take. 1st time cruiser here, chose this ship, sail date and port because it fit with our itinerary in Orlando. Overall, we had a great time, opted for the balcony stateroom (#8204) which is on Deck 8. Embarkation was smooth, you got your usual lines at check-in but it was pretty painless, spent most of the time waiting for our Uber car stuck trying to get in the passenger drop off area at Port Canaveral. Royal Caribbean should really streamline this drop off and pick up process, cars, buses, vans etc bottleneck at the entry point. About the package my wife and I chose: 1 refreshment package for the week (roughly $80). 2 three night Specialty Restaurant dinner package (roughly $90 each) Bags checked in and arrived in front of our stateroom an hour later after boarding the Oasis, we went to Johnny Rockets and paid $7 a person for burgers, fries and a shakes. Service: For the most part, the staff was very attentive, specially our steward Rodel at #8204. Thank you sir! Charito (head host) at the Main Dining room was awesome, she was very attentive and took care of us when we wanted to sit by ourselves at our own table. All the staff in the main dining room and specialty restaurants (Steakhouse, Izumi, 150 Central Park) we're top notch!!! Dining: Windjammer Buffet - I only went here for breakfast, it was the same menu everyday and the bacon wasn't crispy except for the last day, what gives?! Ports: Labadi, Haiti - pretty chill, didn't do anything but hung out on the beach. Falmouth, Jamaica - opted for the Bob Marley Experience, boarded a van with about 8 other people, took 1.5 hrs to get to Nine Mile, bumpy road, wife got car sick. I am a fan of Bob Marley so it's a must that we go on this trip. Highly recommended for other fans. Includes a lunch at a local Jerk spot, had chicken, pork, rice, it was ite. Cozumel, Mexico - opted for the Twister boat ride and Isla Pasion package, this was great, about $90 each person. You ride a speedboat to a private island north of port, the island was very clean, nice white sands, free activities (water bikes, land bikes, kayaks, tables, free buffet and drinks), do not miss this excursion! Entertainment on the ship: We prebooked our shows but didn't really get to attend since our dinners were at 8 pm. Maybe next time. I would go on another cruise with RCCL but most likely with a newer ship and different ports, I recommend this cruise to anyone. Crowd: Mostly middle aged, families and a few young couples, not too crowded, didn't feel like 6K + cruisers on the ship. Read Less

My husband and I have never been on one of the huge ships so when the opportunity came to try it for relatively cheap, we jumped on it. This particular cruise stopped in Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Cozumel, Mexico. There were three sea days in this itinerary. Overall, we had an amazing time and are very happy with this cruise. Port Canaveral: As far as ports go, it is easy to access and not too far from Orlando, however, it did not seem very organized. In fact, the day of departure was crazy. We rented a car from Avis at the airport and returned it to their location at Port Canaveral. The rental car companies all over shuttles to the ships. We got there extra early and took the shuttle. We had to wait an hour and a half in the parking lot at the cruise terminal because there was so much traffic and confusion. This is not on the part of the rental car company and due to the lack of organization at the port. I overheard other guests saying this ship was recently moved to Port Canaveral and that they did not have the "kinks" worked out yet. So please give yourself plenty of time to avoid any stress on the day of departure. Likewise on the day you return to port. We waited in very long lines for US Customs but it do go relatively quickly. Room: We chose a B1 category stateroom 8723 that overlooked the Boardwalk. I wanted to say thank you to other reviewers who posted the room lay-outs. We choose a room with the bed by the balcony and not by the closet. There is plenty of storage but I did run out of hangers. You may want to bring some extras if you are the type who likes to hang all your clothing. No complaints about the room, bed, or bathroom. We were very happy with this stateroom. There was a special for booking that category stateroom: free soda package for two, free lunch/dinner at Johnny Rockets for up to four, and a free rock climbing session. The great part of the room is we had a wonderful view of the Aqua Theater and actually watched the show right from our balcony. If you do not stay up late, this may not be the location for you as the sound from the Aqua Theater can be quite loud. General noise from the Board Walk was negligible. Our room steward, Dmytro, was amazing. He will take care of you. Period. I intend to write a letter to Royal Caribbean praising him after I write this review. Entertainment: Overall, the best entertainment I have seen on a cruise. We have only been on 6 but this topped it all. I do recommend that you use the cruise planner to make reservations to the shows before you leave. We were able to secure reservations to the comedy show, Come Fly with Me, Frozen in Time, and Cats before we left. However, I was only able to get one ticket for the comedy show. It "sold out" that fast. With that said, the Cruise Compass on the first day does say to go to Guest Services to make show reservations as soon as you get on board but what they didn't tell you (and we figured out by chance) was that you can make the reservations right on the TV in your state room. I was easily able to make the second reservation for the comedy show minutes after arriving in our room. Familiarize yourself with the TV options. We found this useful extremely helpful. I forgot to print out our calendar to keep track of our reservations but quickly found out each person's calendar and reservations are available on the TV. Great feature! As others have stated, the Aqua Theater show Oasis of Dreams is frequently canceled due to weather. (It is a great show and worth it). The first night it was canceled because it was raining and windy when we left Port Canaveral. It was rescheduled and a message was sent (via your state room "email" on the TV) stating the days/times it was rescheduled. The Come Fly with Me was canceled as well because of technical difficulties. While we were disappointed, the replacement show (an act with Ronn Lucas, renowned ventriloquist) was so damn funny! Frozen in Time was AMAZING and so was Cats. The actors are extremely talented. The actress who played Grizabella has a voice that will literally bring you to tears. She is that good. The Comedy Show was hilarious too. We highly recommend those shows! Of note, if you are unable to make a reservation, the staff open up the venue to standby guests 5 minutes before the show. So, to those with reservations, you need to be there at least 15 minutes early and to those without reservations, standby seating is opened up to those who are there first come, first serve. The other smaller acts were amazing too. Particularly, the Sweet Sounds Duo. If you like classical music (and even if you don't, you probably will enjoy listening to them), they will definitely impress you. They play a lot in Central Park and by accident, we happened to schedule a reservation at Giovanni's when they were performing. If you plan on dining in the specialty restaurants, look to see if they are performing and try to schedule your reservations around that time. Wonderful experience! I can't speak to any other venues like the clubs, bars, etc. We didn't go in those places but did see others having a blast when we went by. Dining: We have never done the Specialty Dining on a cruise but were curious about it so we stopped in to look at the menu the first day of the cruise. They had a special going and I highly recommend that you stop in the first day to check for any specials. The one we purchased was three visits to any of the Specialty Restaurants for $85 a person. GREAT deal when you look at what it costs for one person. We ended up going to Giovanni's once and Chops Grille twice. We were so happy with the food and service. Allow two hours for dinner at these restaurants. They do not rush you and want to make sure you enjoy your time there. On the other nights, we ate in main dining in the Grande Dining room on deck 4. Also another thank you to reviewers here, I emailed RC dining before the cruise and requested a table for 2 again. Each time I have done this, we have received our requested table. If you are more extroverted, you probably would enjoy eating dinner with others but we tend to keep to ourselves. One other advantage is you don't have to wait for 6-8 other people to decide what they want to eat. The food in main dining was very good and the service was great as well. For breakfast we ate at the Wind Jammer and the food was decent. It is your typical buffet style breakfast. Good variety of foods are offered. There are quite a few places you can eat. We frequented these places and also Sorrento's. Love the pizza on demand feature. :) Sports: The ship is equipped with a sports court (best one we have seen), a mini golf course (eh), five ping pong tables (in good shape with brand new paddles), sports pools, two rock walls, two Flow Riders, a zip line (goes over the Board Walk), and other things. The reason I gave the mini gold course an "eh" is because the golf balls were not real (hard foam) and the clubs were for someone who was 4' tall. They did not offer different sized clubs. This is not a big deal but when you are super competitive like we are, it does factor into the equation when one of us beats the other. LOL We did not go in the pools or hot tubs but will say there are plenty of them around. Neighborhoods: There are seven different neighborhoods on this ship. Central Park was by far my favorite. I spent as much time in there as I could. I cannot believe that is on a cruise ship! My advice is to explore and check each one out. Definitely neat and different from any other ship I have been on. I did not reserve spa services so cannot speak to that this time. Shopping was good on the ship. There are some high end stores on the ship (especially for women's handbags) but also decent priced goods too. I bought souvenir t-shirts for $10. Make sure to check your merchandise for any defects. I bought a shirt and didn't notice there was a hole in it until I took off the tags. I had no problems exchanging for another shirt. Shore Excursions: We booked two in Labadee and really enjoyed this stop. We booked the Snorkel Safari (tour code QLB2) and the Jet Skis (tour code ZL03). On the Snorkel Safari, they take you out on a boat to a reef and you have about an hour to explore. The reef was beautiful and was teeming with all different types of coral. There were fish and other marine life but not in abundance like in Coco Cay, Bahamas. (The area is over fished.) Still very beautiful and a great place to snorkel. The guides were great and would point out various marine life and if they were safe to handle (for both us or the marine life), they would gently pick up and show it to us. The snorkel equipment was good quality too. No issues there. We both drive our own Jet Skis after and if you have never done this and you're not afraid of speed, you HAVE to do this. I was beaming like a little kid. I started in the back but was quickly moved up to the front at the first stop. (People who go faster are in the front and slower people are put in the rear to not hold anyone up). So much fun!!!! The only part I didn't like is at one one the stops, locals kayaked over to us and tried to sell us stuff (while we are on Jet Skis). That wasn't part of the tour but something they did to try to help the locals. Speaking of locals, outside of the tourist area this is a very poor area. The merchants in the main shop are not pushy but as soon as you walk outside the main shop to the lines of shops, the locals can be very pushy about getting you to come in their shops and look at their goods. On the plus side, you can barter a great deal on items if you can deal with the pushiness. We did buy from both the main shop and the locals to help support the area. Falmouth Jamaica: We did the Dunns River Falls and Jamaican Bobsled tour tour code FY25). LOVED it! Note to those going on this tour: wear a bathing suit or other swim wear and only carry what you need to the Falls. Leave everything else on the bus or in a locker. I can't tell you how many sunglasses, phones, etc fell into the current while we were there. If you take a camera or phone, make sure it is waterproof and has a strap. You are climbing the falls and will get soaked. Also, buy water shoes with some decent tread for this. These are a must. A videographer goes with each tour group and you can purchase the video and the photos they take (all on a CD) for $40 (cash only). If you want this, please bring the money with you. We didn't know this and didn't bring enough money to the falls to get the CD. Also of note, the videographer noticed we did not fill out the slip for the video and approached us separately. He was trying to negotiate on the price and was willing to give it to us for much less so keep that in mind when you are purchasing it. We didn't purchase it because we wanted to make sure the driver and tour guide received a good tip. The tour guide at Dunns River Falls will expect a tip as well. We had Tammy and she was worth it. Other tour groups kept looking over to ours because we were having so much fun. After we did this, we went over to Mystic Mountain for the Bobsled portion. The lifts were broken so the bus drove us to the top via a private access road. You have the option of being joined to another sled or going down individually, whatever suits your comfort level. There are signs that state going too fast endangers you and the person in from too you. Not to worry, they allow ample space in between you and the sleds that go before and after you. I asked the attendant if I could go "wide open" and he said "of course....drive it like you stole it." And so my husband I did just that. We went individually and we both had the sleds wide open the whole time. Fast, a bit jerky and rough but fun as hell! We were smiling ear to ear after that ride! Cozumel, Mexico: We did the Jeep to Punta Sur Eco-Park (tour code CZ4P). This is quite frankly the only thing we were not pleased with the entire trip. The description of this reads exactly as follows "Snorkel at an ecological preserve, visit a Mayan ruin, climb a lighthouse and relax on a beach. Explore a vibrant underwater world teeming with a wide variety of marine life (all gear included). Relax or play on Explora beach; a remote, white-sand beach, one of the best beaches in the country." Now the facts. Most of the Jeeps are manual transmission. This was not an issue for us but for others, it may be. You don't get your own Jeep (unless you are a group of 4). We booked it thinking my husband and I would have our own Jeep. WRONG. They put you four to a Jeep and when we complained because it is clearly not stated in the description, the tour guide replied with "that's how we do it." We we offered our own Jeep if we paid more. We refused. We were put with another couple who thankfully was a pleasure to be with. If you get stuck with some idiots or those who do not want to share driving, you are frankly SOL. Also, the tops were on the Jeeps. What's the point of driving a Jeep if the top remains on? That was also disappointing and unfortunately, the disappointment did not stop there. The snorkel equipment was not the same quality gear that was used on the Snorkel Safari in Labadee, This equipment was terrible and many complained that their masks leaked, snorkels weren't working properly, etc. My favorite thing to do is snorkel and I read reviews on this and many said this was a great spot to snorkel. This had my very confused when we snorkeled right off the beach and all we had to look at was sea grass and the occasional bits of coral and fish. There was hardly any coral or fish and certainly no reef. This leads me to think we were not brought to the reef people discussed in other reviews. (Reviewers stated that location takes some time to swim to and our guide literally kept us right off shore). I will say the beach and lighthouse were wonderful but you are barely given any time to enjoy them. The Mayan Ruin is about the size of the shed and a disappointment if you have been to other ruin sites. The tour operator was Explora Caribe and we frankly were not impressed. I will be writing a letter to RC to complain about this shore excursion. Consider yourself warned if you are considering this tour. Aside from this experience, we had a great time and would recommend this cruise. Hopefully this review is helpful to those considering this cruise. Read Less

Oasis of the Seas was recommended to us by our daughter who went on the Allure of the Seas in Dec. She gave us a detailed lay of the land. There was so much to do that we only had our bathing suits on once in 7 days and since we've been to the Caribbean many times, we did plan on venturing far, although, the excursions looked like crazy fun. The ports were great, clean, secure, and lots of shops. Central Park is upscale with shopping and restaurants with in a tree and shrub cricket chirping setting where we enjoyed classical music Piano and violin several nights. We had an inside cabin...set your alarm so you don't sleep too long. Our Porter was attentive and kept our room very tidy the room size was large enough. Don't eat too much food or you may need to bring the Tums! A variety of delicious foods. The wait staff were always accommodating and we never felt rushed. We didn't partake in the young peoples entertainment but did enjoyed the Diving and Ice shows and movies under the stars. One show was cancelled but replaced with a hilarious ventriloquist! . This Grandma did the zipline and next year I plan to do the rock climbing wall too! We went for the ship amenities and the ship did not disappoint!!! Read Less

As i read some of the reviews, I can't believe I was on the same ship.We have sailed over 25 times and while we have visited better ports, we have never been on a better ship. The service is attentive, the meals are great, and the atmosphere fantastic .Imagine sipping a glass of wine in a tree lined park while listening to the soft sounds of a piano/violin duo without a bob or a roll from the sea despite the 20 knots. Picture yourself in an outdoor theater watching gymnastics, diving, syncro- swimming and remember your on a ship. Watch an ice skating show, a full production of Cats, or watch or partake in rock climbing, zip line and flow riding and much more. Enjoy the Caribbean warmth in a wonderful solarium without ever leaving the ship Oh, the balcony room was a little more compact than we expected, and the use of light colored carpets can be questioned, but overall the ship was excellent Read Less

The ship is fine and lovely with many activities, beautiful music, the staff took good care of us, good service, the food was excellent everywhere all around the ship, interesting trips to new never visited places, we relaxed and forgot work, the sun was shining and we had good time, people were in good mood and they were joking, we also ran and walked on the board, when the sun rises. Sometimes we felt that the music was too loud and then it was not enjoyable, for instance in Broadway and we saw people holding their ears and then we hurried up to another places. The atmosphere in Central Park Was peaceful and we enjoyed to listen classic music there and the Cats was very good with good singers and dancers and good humour. The American people were polite and kind and they laughed a lot and were joking and it was fun to get to know them a little better. We didn;t understand everything when the captain spoke, because of the language difficulties and sometimes people spoke too quickly so it was hard to understand. We understand better written texties than spoken ones. Read Less

We were on the same cruise as traci_roo (no relation) and I echo her comments. While the captains decision to stay ahead of the weather was correct, the change to San Juan rather than Nassau put the screws to excursions. It happens, I guess. She was also right on the mark with technical difficulties. What went wrong was never explained but you would think a ship of this size would have some back up equipment. I guess we'll catch “Cats” some other time. Speaking of size, Oasis is just two darn big. Too many people. While the food was adequate - adequate, not awesome - it was very annoying to hear an announcement every few minutes in the buffet that amounted to "We hope you enjoyed your food now please get out". At several thousand dollars a pop, I resented being told to move along. We didn't gain much weight however. Probably due to the 2/10th of a mile (each way) from our cabin to the food. Someone else referred to the ship as a "windowless barge". And that is the case. There seemed to be a determined effort by RC to make you feel you were in a shopping mall rather than at sea. Why build a ship that isolates you from the water? Isn't that the point of cruising? Beautiful ship, no problem with the staff at all but, like many of the folks leaving the buffet, it was overstuffed. Read Less

We enjoyed the food in the specialty dining rooms, not only for the food options, but the service of the staff is far superior, and attentive to detail, to that of the dining room or buffet. The ship is beautiful with many varied activities, but making reservations before you board is confusing, especially, when you don't know what other activities will be available to you when you are actually on board and how to co-ordinate them so they don't overlap. There were shows that we wanted to see, but they were only available during our dining times or some shows were cancelled, due to technical difficulties or weather conditions. There should be rules of conduct for families and children and ship staff to support the rules. There is no reason children should be throwing things from balconies, running and playing football in the halls, throwing golf balls at each other or hitting each other with golf clubs. Dress codes should be enforced in dining rooms for dinner. Poorly behaved children should find suitable dining options as to not disturb the rest of the dining room patrons. Parents and staff should be aware that others would like a pleasant dining experience. Read Less

This is one of the largest cruise ships with great entertainment and excellent food and amenities. Went with two other couples and had a wonderful time! Service is top-notch! Not crazy about the caribbean ports. They all seem very similar with the same activities and same shopping. The size of the ship, of course, increases the number of people and length of lines which is something to keep in mind when choosing your cruise. The fact that you can walk through "Central Park" on your way to dinner or to dancing is unlike any other cruise experience we have had. The Southside Band which performed in Dazzles nightclub was probably one of the best cover bands we have ever heard. Would definitely love to hear them again. If the opportunity arises in the future to cruise on this ship again but maybe to a different destination, we would definitely be interested. Read Less

We went with friends to get away from snow up north. We had a great time. Best vacation in a long time. Going first class in a Suite made the trip so very nice with all the extra things included. I can't say enough good things about the cruise line. Went on a smaller ship (Brilliance of the Seas) last year, and that was also very good. The extra money we spent for a suite was very much worth it. We are now spoiled, would not go any other way. However, we did not not spend a lot of time in the cabin except to sleep, so any cabin would have been ok, but being much older as I am, I really appreciated all the extra services that came with the suite. We are getting married soon, so we spent time on shore shopping for our wedding rings, which we found in St. Thomas. This Cruise line was terrific in every way. We complained about our meal the first night..(coffee never came on time) and wow! did they every make up for it the next night. Terrific service...Had so much fun! Read Less

This was our 2nd cruise and I expected so much more from Royal Caribbean. Oasis was beautiful, however, embarkation was ridiculous and the entire cruise was like this, too many people. Too much waiting in line. I am a patient person but this was ridiculous. Our cabin was a boardwalk balcony and it was far, far away from an elevator or even usable steps so we had to go forward just to go backwards. Ridiculous. Our shower was moldy and stunk and the couch was so dirty we had to cover it with a sheet. Our cabin steward was just OK which is not the usual RC experience. There werre plumbing problems onboard and I washed my hands in nasty black water at one point - unexpected, who knows what it was. My cousins room leaked over their bed in the middle of the night, who knows what that was. It was their 50th wedding anniversary - NOT GOOD! The cigarette smoke from the casino permeates the waiting area for main dining on Deck 3 so you experience that nastiness while waiting to eat twice a day. My Aunt was totally misdiagnosed and mistreated by the ship physician which led to serious problems after she got off the ship. If you are planning to bring someone who needs a wheelchair to embark or disembark - Don't do it....this process is completely inappropriate and time consuming to the point of harmful to the person needing help. Our dining experience was exceptional. We could not have had a better experience in Main Dining. They went above and beyond to allow our extended family to be able to set together and to accomodate my dietary needs. Along with all that they waited on us like both royalty and their best friends. I cannot say enough about our dining experience. Thank you RC for getting this one right. Read Less

We choose this cruise to board the Oasis of the Seas for the first time. My wife and I went as we normally do, by ourselves. We are in our late 60's but we dance, have fun and use the pools, jog, run and eat. Embarkation was smooth and fast, very organized. Debarkation was even faster, about 10 minutes to exit the terminal from start to finish, could not believe it. This ship is very large yet it was very easy to navigate all areas. The key is to use the promenade (deck 5). Elevators are at both ends and quite a few they are. Remember that in many areas the food is free even if it looks expensive. Park Central (deck 8), just a great place to spend time to relax, get a great roast beef sandwich, fruit cups, salads and excellent soups. The Solarium was another spot to eat. But the Windjammer is the venue for eating most of the time. On deck 5 is the promenade and the jogging track. Go past the Boardwalk (here is the carousel) and the Aqua Theater. The promenade is the center of everything, from bars to music to 24hrs cafe, pizza. At Sorrentos they serve pizza with all the ingredients you want added, The entertainment was fabulous. Many typical activities and there's the Grand Parade with the Dreamworks animated characters. The food was the highlight since Royal Caribbean has greatly improved their menu, especially breakfast. Quality, presentation, and taste was simply great. Service better than ever. Royal Caribbean has taken suggestions and made changes and the results are evident, just an exceptional cruise. Before boarding and during your online checkin, make sure you try and get as many shows as you can in accordance with your dining schedule. If you find out taht some shows are full, do not worry, when you board just go to desk services and they will complete it for you, as we had to do. The folks are very very nice. On this cruise we had MyTime Dining table for two every night. The food was simply very good and service second to none. Our cabin was 7437 interior, roomy and very clean always. The public restrooms are very clean. All in all this was worth every penny and we will book another cruise soon. We have been on all the major cruise lines but we will return with Royal Caribbean. One last thing, do go to the Art Auctions. You will get a free artwork and an education about this fascinating world of Art. You do not have to buy anything but you will see great works of art and get to know a staff of friendly, knowledgeable persons that will answer any and all your questions. Oasis of the Seas is a great value. For 99.99% of the time, it felt like being on land, that's how smooth it travels over the seas. Read Less
