We chose this cruise because we had children that went with us. We looked at some videos online and it seemed fun for them. Honestly once you got on there, there was not much to do. Once you have done everything you get kind of bored. For the children’s club they spent most of their time playing Gaga ball. Two of the kids had fun but my one child did not like Gaga ball therefor she did not like kids club so only go there if you like Gaga ball. She was in the 9-11 group. The shows on the ship were fantastic. The food was not too great on many occasions. The staff was very nice but the food was lacking in many areas. The buffet was not as good as on other ships and was very unorganized. Our cabins were very nice. The showers were a bit too small and my father could not fit in them. Once they turned our couch into a bed they did not change it back she we could not watch tv anymore without wanting to lay down. Overall the cruise was okay but it was very expensive, especially the drink package and overall was not what we expected. They raised our expectations a little too high. Overall I would not sod this cruise again and would instead to a smaller, cheaper ship that cost less but still gave the same things. Read Less

We were part of a large tour group comprised of about 250 passengers. The ship itself is an engineering marvel and beautifully maintained. The ports of call were nothing special for the most part (Labadee was easily the best port) and we chose to stay on the ship in Falmouth Jamaica and Cozumel. Nothing authentic to see that was worth seeing outside of an excursion. Embarking and disembarking was relatively smooth given that there were well over 5k passengers. What made this cruise an absolutely unforgettable experience however was the RC staff & crew. The level of care and customer service was off the charts from everyone we encountered without exception. To be on such a great ship was one thing, and it could have easily been diminished by even average customer care. But the ship, combined with world class customer service we experienced with everyone from our cabin attendant to our main dining room wait staff and everyone in between was what made it a truly special experience. I left the ship completely refreshed, thoroughly impressed and wondering when I could do it all over again. Not a frequent cruiser but I do travel extensively and for my money, there is no better vacation experience. Read Less

It was a great deal for all of us. This was the first time the eight of us were traveling together and it was just great something to do for all of us so many things off shore for the girls. The the shows and entertainment was awesome the comedy Cubs was awesome the food was great it was being treated like a princess or queen or a king was great. We didn't have a problem with anything and everything was just set like a timepiece everything was running smoothly even the long lines was quickly the only thing I think that was a little bit off was the price of the drinks they were very expensive for us anyway we're seniors. And when your seniors you have to be careful of what kind of money you spend on these elaborate cruises but it was the first balcony room that I had ever had and it was just great you couldn't have asked for anything better. My 65th Birthday celebration included my sister and five friends! I use a power wheelchair and had no problems getting on or off the ship! My cabin was completely accessible and I made full use of our private balcony. Dinner was scrumptious! French Onion Soup, steak and the best dark chocolate cake I ever tasted. The staff sang Happy Birthday. Our waiter Norrys was great! He was very attentive and so was Joel the drink server! On our last nightJoel performed magic tricks with napkins and Norrys played the guitar! We booked a different event each nite. I loved the musical Cats. We had facials in the Spa. I sang karaoke and my sister did too! Haiti was great! It was accessible! Lots of places to shop and a buffet for lunch was delicious. Jamaica was paradise! Ken's Wheelchair Tour was wonderful! Komoko Falls was terrific! It was very accessible. Beautiful flowers like Birds of Paradise and Orchids were everywhere. Lots of shops to buy souvenirs but, be careful prices are high. If you show interest but, walk away the price will come down. Kosumel was awesome! A beautiful peninsula with beautiful beaches! Arturo, our taxi driver took us to a wonderful places to shop. Again show interest but, walk away at least once and the price will come down. We ate at a Mexican resturaunt. Delicious food but, watch out for the green hot sauce. Most gringos can't handle it. The Oasis of the Seas is a beauty! What a beautiful ship with lots to do. Customer service is outstanding. Guest services and staterooms attendants are very helpful and courteous. While traveling with teenagers, we appreciate all the love they displayed to my family. If you want a ship that is a home away from home this is your ship. The entertainment was wonderful, lots to do with kids... zip line, flow riders, ice skating, putt golf and many clubs for kids of all ages. The food was exceptional including formal nights and all the bistro, many choices at the wind jammer cafe. Very clean buffet friendly and many desserts for all different tastes. There was even a Starbucks for additional charges. Cabins were comfortable and there are many excursions at Mexico and Jamaica. Before the cruise we stayed at a resort with a lazy river. The kids enjoyed. Exiting and entering the ship was easy. We will definitely cruise again on Royal Caribbean!! Read Less

We travel on the Oasis of the Seas with our AAA Cruising Group - Rocky and the Rollers! We loved the entertainment and would travel with them anytime! We love the ship! The ice rink is our dance hall and is perfect! Love the Food, Love the entertainment, Love the room and loved the dining staff and cabin service staff - they were very attentive. The bad thing was that we missed our first port - Labadee Haiti - too windy and large waves - so we missed this port due to high seas. We liked Jamaica - we did have a great Dune Buggy experience and had a muddy messy time but we had a BLAST! Cozumel has always been great - but this was the very first time we have ever been rained on - I mean BUCKETS - downpoured almost all day! We had to walk back to the ship in the rain - not a warm day during the entire cruise - not even a pink tone to my skin AT ALL! Without Rocky and the Rollers - our trip would have been a complete bust for entertainment. Read Less

Chose to do this trip with a group of women. Some had not cruised before. I have been on this ship before, beautiful. Embarkation was quick and friendly. Cabin was great.Clean and well taken care of. Dining was very good mainly because of the servers. They are friendly and fun. Food was very good. As for entertainment on the ship, it is lacking. Cats is a boring play, a downer, needs to go. Other shows were good and we enjoyed them. They have trivia ,Quest, music ,some games and karaoke. Two problems, space and timing. Rooms for these venues are small so if you want to participate and can't get there early you may as well forget it. Just no place to sit. Next would be timing. Most things overlap. There are few things to do so you will have to choose. I feel that is just crazy, all day nothing then 3 things at once. I enjoyed the live music but the DJ music was not for me . Not for many becaure when we went it was empty. Tecno , music for 18yr olds, not dance music. Service, except for the Dining room stinks . Now that they have prepaid packages there is no reason to give you service, saves them money. The days of pool service or venue service are gone. They have your money !! I did not purchase the drink package but would have enjoyed a occasional drink , but getting one was hard. Ports, all the same. Not the real island feel. Every port is the same, jewelry stores and booze. Lots of jewelry ! I miss the days of seeing the real island. Just lines of shops , every port the same. They could have stayed in one place and few would know. LOL I have been cruising for years and feel it is still s great deal but also see it going downhill . Seems they just dont care anymore. . We are long standing Royal Caribbean cruisers (17 years) with Diamond Status... soon to be Diamond Pus... My wife became disabled last year and this cruise proved to be the WORST experience we have ever seen since she became disabled. There was no evidence of "family handicapped restrooms," which required us to return all the way to our cabin if my wife needed a restroom. On a ship almost four football fields long, this can be a long walk to the restroom! The passageways were narrow during embarkation and debarkation we virtually had to roll over other people's luggage and the staff did little to help us. Only the officers we saw took any action to assist. I chaulk this up to training and lack of supervision! The ship was so crowded, people in wheelchairs and/or scooters found it difficult to get in/off elevators without other passengers glaring at them for holding them up. Moving around in the dining rooms was like trying to negotiate a maze. The crew/staff seemed untrained to handle these situations. Unlike older class ships where their were entrances on multi-decks, and people in wheel chairs might find space closer to the stages, the only way to view a show in any of the theaters on the Oasis was from the very back and top of the theater. To many this is known as the "nosebleed" section. Even then, many times THESE areas were taken up by NON-Handicapped passengers and the staff would do nothing to fix this. Being told to come earlier is not an acceptable answer, as any handicapped person knows, we move slower in crowded situations such a 6,000-passenger ship. I wonder if Royal Caribbean ships pass the guidelines for American's with Disabilities Act.. or being an international Company, they are not required? At any rate. this was a HORRIBLE experience. Oasis of the Seas Dec, 2017 Always being intimidated with the size and scores of people on the “mega ship,” after careful consideration and reading countless reviews, we made the plunge and booked our cruise on the Oasis of the Seas. This being our 27 the cruise, over the years we have become accustom to certain expectations within the cruise industry so Oasis of the Seas was being held to an experienced cruisers standard. That being said I won’t bore you with every detail and will only covers the points most cruisers new and experienced may be concerned with. First let me say after reading many reviews, I’m amazed at the some of the ridiculous criticisms stated by many. Simply put, as in life, if one intentionally looks for things to criticize, rest assured, they will find something to complain about. On the other hand, if one chooses to focus on the positive things, life can and will be much better place for everyone and perhaps most importantly the complainer. Oasis of the Seas, like any other ship, has issues and can always improve but overall it is an amazing ship and cruise. Embarkation: Flawless! We arrived at the port at 11:00 and were eating in the Windjammer café by 11:40. I have read many reviews that stated not to waist time looking for a seat in the Windjammer due to over crowding; nonsense! We never had to wait for a table at the Windjammer the whole cruise. There was plenty of seating, never a wait, and always great service. Food was above average but not excellent. One neat thing was everyday they had a new meat at the carving station. (Prime Rib, Pork Loin, Turkey) Ports: Labadee, Jamaica and Cozumel 4 at sea days: Ports were good but we have been there so many times we could offer our own tour service. For the experienced cruisers, island days offer an empty ship with some very good deals on services that you may want to take advantage of. Ship: Spotless, well maintained! Never, ever felt like it was crowded even though there were over 6 thousand passengers aboard. A Couple of times the shopping area was congested but never any worse than any other cruise we have taken. Room: Mid Ship Balcony, 9th floor. Very spacious with more storage than any other ship we have sailed. Cabin steward was excellent, kept room spotless and always polite and out of site. Made sure we tipped him well! Ship Staff: Excellent. Many reviews said Oasis was understaffed and often staff was unfriendly. Absolutely untrue! The staff was very friendly and always willing to help and go the extra mile. They were every-where, yet they stayed in their own lane and never interfered unless summoned. On the other hand, as often as they attempted to help guests, many times I was ashamed of how the guest treated them. Being in the customer service industry for many years it always amazes me how rude and self-centered customers can really be. Often guests would treat cruise staff with disrespect and at times even contempt. This was really noticeable by the Panicle Class passengers who may believe they own the ship and could treat cruise staff and passengers anyway they wanted. Just a note here, they’re not the only ones who paid money for there cruise. One could easily arrive at the conclusion these may be the people who are writing the majority of critical reviews of the Oasis. Again, anyone can find fault with anything if you look hard enough, and Oasis of the Seas is no exception. Ship Activities: Many. There was always something going on aboard the Oasis. You could get as involved or uninvolved as your personal cruising style determined. Cruise Director: Average. With 6,000 passengers aboard the Oasis, one can only imagine how pulled the Cruise Director can be. That being said, I think they could actually use two directors on this size ship. Regardless he did well. Specialty Dining: Excellent! Should you choose a cruise of the Oasis, you must make a reservation at Giovanni’s Table. Believe me you won’t regret it, unbelievable! Specialty Dining Pricing: On the high side but still competitive with other cruise lines. While the prices may be considered a bit high, the service and quality of the food are worth it. After all you are on vacation, treat yourself if you can afford it. Main Dinning Restaurant: Very good! One could easily eat here for the whole cruise and be completely satisfied while saving a bunch of money. Quality of Food and service was very good and really nice to have your waiter call you by name and have your beverage of choice waiting for you when you get there. Bar Service: Great! Read many critical reviews complaining about lack of bar service. While we are not extreme drinkers, the wife and I have a history of getting one drink from every bar on the ship. This cruise was no different, we hit every bar (and there are many) and we never had to wait for more then 5 minutes for service and less than 3 minutes for our drink, with understandable exception of the pool or Solarium. Drink quality was very good. Tip: on day three, Oasis offers a 10-drink package for $80.00, excellent savings as typical mixed drinks go for $13.00-$15.00 per drink. Entertainment: Very Good. Was not impressed with Cats, but shows are subjective to ones personal preferences. Comedians were very good, just be a bit cautious with underage children, and language can be a bit forward. Bands were really good. DE-embarkation: Perfect, flawless. We choose to walk off the ship rather than waiting for our assigned departure time. We arrived at the de-embarkation point (Main Lobby) at 5:45 A.M. (make sure you get there early as 600 people choose this option making for quite a line). Despite the line, it was the smoothest of any ship we were on. Simply put Oasis has got this right! We were back at our hotel and on the road home by 7:10 a.m. As I shared from the beginning, the wife and I were very apprehensive a sailing on a mega ship with over 6,000 passengers. Now on the other side, I am sold out on the Oasis of the Seas. It never felt crowded or congested, in fact, we have sailed on many smaller RCCL ships with fewer passengers that felt much more crowded than the Oasis. My wife and I are looking forward to sailing on RCCL Oasis class ships again. I know if you give it a chance you also will be very pleasantly surprised! Read Less

Chose this cruise to go Eastern Caribbean did not make that area..instead we went to Mexico, and Jamaica the two places I did not want to ever visit again. Next we could not get tickets for comedy club on line ahead of time. I had tickets and then they got cancelled by Royal. On board we got tickets for comedy club but found out after waiting in line 30 min. that they had a computer problem and we did not get in.. I bought the drink package early non alcohol version this would have been great if I did not have to go to guest services every day to have charges removed (same story computer problems). The food in main dinning room was great, The windjammer also pretty good, all wait staff great no problem. Room steward great as always. Rooms had a balcony (outside) and opened up the balcony with our neighbors (4 other couples) . Royal has a lot better chairs on the Freedom class ships, chairs on balcony are not comfortable at all. Pool deck chairs are also very cheap, flimsy. Central Park deck 8 was great. Lots of places to sit and relax drink beverage, read. Great place to walk from aft elevators to forward elevators. We very much enjoyed the experience. I love that there is so much entertainment, and yet if you want quiet time, just go up to your room and sit on your own private balcony. I like very much that there was a variety of shows, so that we could go see a different one every night, and that they were good quality. I liked that we could reserve the shows ahead of time online, so that we had it all preplanned. Getting on and off the ship was easy. We found the cabins a little small, but for a 7 night cruise they were adequate. The dining was awesome. We did the anytime dining, and the first night was a little crazy, because of course everyone came at the same time, but we pre-reserved for the rest of the cruise and it was good. We had the same servers the whole time and they were awesome! The only thing I would suggest, is it would be nice to theme the dining to be a more cozy seating arrangement. Have the seating in crescent shapes so that you can be more intimate conversations and experiences with your partner. Sitting across from each other makes it much more impersonal, as you have to lean over your table and food all the time to have a conversation. The port excursions were great. We reserved one on line before the cruise, which we knew we wanted to go on for sure. It was overwhelming to book then all before the cruise so we booked the other 2 once we go on the ship, it worked well for us to do it that way. I was a little disappointed in the "Next Cruise" as they advertised up to $600. in savings and OBC etc. But that is only if you book for a cruise with the non refundable option. We took the refundable option as we booked 2 years out. Who knows what could happen in 2 years? We booked a balcony so that meant we only got $75 OBC or we could use it for part of the deposit. I felt so excited to be getting a $200, OBC to book my "Next Cruise" but then so disappointed when it turned out to be only $75. because we took the refundable option instead. Read Less

I went with a wedding party group of family and friends on the Oasis of the Seas for 7 days over Halloween. We had been planning this for over a 7 month period. There were many special events planned on the ship, Halloween Costume party, Disco Party, Sexy man contest, etc. Many in our group participated and we all had a great time. The entertainment was delightful... the food in dining was great. The Casino dealers were awesome too...my favorite was Romel. The boat was beautiful with many shops and restaurants to choose from. And I really liked the Central Park theme in the middle of the boat. Most of us did participate in the activities Zip line, Rock wall and oh the Hot Dog Station was wonderful for a early afternoon snack! The excursion in Haiti with the Zip Line was Amazing... and all the Guides were very kind and explained everything very well. All over experience a 10. Thank you, Read Less

Go for a week long cruise about once a year like this, and you could find worse ways to spend a vacation. The ship is grand, my cabin comfortable, the service outstanding, and the ports really great. The cupcakes are extremely good, and the SWEET POTATO PUDDING was absolutely amazing! I enjoyed this cruise, was impressed with the service at every turn (except for the lack of attentiveness of my cabin steward to cleanliness), and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and speed of service all over the ship. I would go on this same cruise again in a heartbeat; and the only change I'd make is to get the cabin steward I had on my first cruise this time. Ripe with opportunities for beautiful pictures, plenty of activities and spots for relaxation, and a wonderful atmosphere over-all; I'd recommend this vacation to anyone to do at least once. This was my first cruise. Was disappointed by a change of events to an offshore/port excursion to Mexico as ship missed that altogether due to weather conditions - hurricanes. And that was somewhere I was keen on seeing :( Main dining staff/waiters were friendly but communication/service lacked with rest of the ship's crew. As guests, I (and my family) were confused on where to go, were directed to wrong places, given different info to what staff had supposedly told other guests on where to meet up on the ship, etc. Food was exquisite, very good serving (and on formal nights, it was even better) - perfect fine dining experience. Entertainment was nice, could be improved as the production of 'Cats' was boring - went on for too long... Wished Royal Carribean included more well-known award-winning Broadway shows like Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Lion King, Singing in the Rain to be shown onboard ship. Cabin maintenance was spot on - our stateroom attendant was kind and left our room clean and tidy every day after/or before we had something to eat. Even left an animal made from hand towels/towels which I found pleasantly cute and creative. Personally, I wouldn't go on another cruise with Royal Carribean. Already had enough of this cruise. Would like to try something else that included more family-orientated events, festivities. Read Less

Ship: Amazing... Central Park, Aqua Theater, Boardwalk all stood out to me! Cabin: Our room was way better than we expected. We were located at the front of the ship and it made for an amazing view at night and early morning. Bigger than we expected so that was definitely a plus. Dining: Food is great. Variety is probably what stands out the most. Definitely purchase a dining package for access to the signature restaurants as they have the best food and the staff is a step above the main dining halls. Even though the main dining hall staff was amazing as well. Entertainment & Activities: A ton of things to do. This is where I would give the only knock on my cruise experience. We wanted a few more night time options that catered to a younger married couple with no kids. Better DJ's would be nice in the nightclub and more dance parties. The first ship we went on did things to get people up and comfortable with each other through conga lines, soul train lines and dance competitions. This one did not. Majority of the night time activities seemed to be catered to older people or families. Service: Top Notch. This is a bigger ship so there is a little drop in service across the entire ship from the smaller ships we've been on. Overall, everyone is polite, friendly and helpful. Bartenders seemed to be the biggest area for improvement from my opinion. Ports & Shore Excursions: There is a lot to choose from so for that reason alone you really couldn't ask for much more. The beach chair and cabana options are pretty pricy, but that's relative to how much you value laying on the beach. Would I do it again? Yes, we've already discussed cruising again. Read Less

The entertainment on board the ship was great. We saw a terrific Broadway caliber showing of Cats, the ice skating show, the water show which include synchronized diving, swimming, acrobats and spent a lot of time in the various bars, especially the piano bar. We enjoyed the private beach at Labadee, Haiti and the cookout. Watching people fly across the bay on the zip line was fun. In Jamaica we did the excursion to Dunn River Falls, where we climbed up the 600 foot falls, through the water. It was exhilarating! We also rode the ski lift ride to the top of Mystic Mountain where there is a great view of Ocho Rio and a second floor bar and restaurant with a terrific view. Read Less

We chose this cruise for our wedding, which will be posted on another thread, because we are both retired Navy and have friends all over. Royal was outstanding and the Oasis is a beautiful ship with a fantastic crew. I would go back and do it all over again, except for a couple of the shore excursions, but they will also have reviews! We drove down to Port Canaveral for the cruise, and used Lots of Honor for our off-site parking. They were great - inexpensive, with shuttle service to and from the port! The operation is owned by veterans and gives a portion of every dollar earned to veterans' charities! Embarkation was easy, and walking on to the Royal Promenade was amazing! We went straight to the Park Café for a quiet lunch of roast beef sandwiches, which were wonderful. The all clear had been given just before we got on board, so after our lunch, we headed to our staterooms. Our stateroom was a JS on Deck 14, port side, right at the start of the hump! The room was fantastic, with plenty of space and we had all of our group of 17 inside that afternoon, with no problems. Sal was our room steward, and he was a gem! He delivered things to our other guests, regardless of what room they were in, and he provided anything we asked for without any hesitation or delay. For Sailaway, we all went to the fantail (that's the back for all you non-Navy types) and deployed a banner for the PTZTv guys, since we had so many who could not join us for this very special cruise! Shout out to PTZTv for the coverage they gave us!!! There was so much to do on Oasis that we had to book another cruise on Allure just to see and do everything! There was literally something for everyone all day long! Eleven of us ate together in the MDR Grande each night for the late seating at 8 PM. Gercon and Jasuli were our head waiter and assistant waiter respectively, and they did an outstanding job. Two nights, we had two more from our group join us, and they rolled with it with no issues! Although the food was very good, I am proud to say that I won the weight gain contest, with a weight gain of only 3.2 pounds!!! That's awesome, since I am a foodie! We had a couple's dinner at Chops, which was included in our wedding package, and the filet was absolutely to die for! It literally melted in our mouths! We had dinner in Giovanni's one night, which was very good, although I prefer southern Italian cooking. But, the food was quite good, and quite representative overall of what one would find in Tuscany and northern Italy. The only show we went to was the Adult Comedy Show because I got mixed up on our time for Oasis of Dreams... definitely plan to catch this one in the future! The comedy show was plenty of laughter, and of course, we got picked on for getting married the next day, but it was all in good fun, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I did an Ionithermie cellulite wrap package in the spa, but knew that it was only because it was my wedding. I didn't buy anything from them, since I had done my research prior to going. It was actually very relaxing, even though the spa is located under the helipad. At Labadee, we rented two beach bungalows at Columbus Cove, and that was a great place for people to make a home base and meet up! Mickey was our attendant, and he was wonderful! We also did the zipline and coaster. Both were awesome! In Jamaica, my mom and I did the Great House Tour with lunch, and my husband and Dad did the Bob Marley Experience. Our tour was great, but left little time for her to explore the potter's studio afterwards, which she would have loved to do more of. The Bob Marley Experience was not quite what my husband and dad expected. My dad is a musician, and my husband is a cop, so you can guess... They were a bit taken aback by the fact that the tour seemed to be more about smoking weed than Bob Marley and his music, so that was kind of a let down. We went on a scuba excursion in Cozumel, and I could write a book about it. I would absolutely NOT recommend this to anyone, and I filed a complaint with the Excursion desk and the Dive Shop on board. The company was Sand Dollar Sports, and the diving was extremely unsafe! The equipment was old and not in the best shape (bad O-rings, leaky tank valves, etc), they allowed a person who was still drunk to dive, and the deckhand, Miguel, pushed me off the swim platform, causing my tank to hit the platform and the valve to smack me in the back of the head! Fortunately, I have a hard head, but this could have been fatal. I never really felt crowded on Lady O. It was a little overwhelming getting on board and entering the Royal Promenade, just the sheer size of it! But, other than feeding time in the Windjammer, there was never a large crowd anywhere! A word of advice... Don't wait until the last day to buy things that you want from the shops on board. You may run out of time like I did, and come home with less than what you had planned on! Friends picked this cruise line as Royal Caribbean is the only ship they love. My next trip will be a beautiful balcony or suite cabin located in a nice area of the ship. Central Park was my favorite for a morning stroll, listening to the birds chirp looking at the flowers and just enjoying the atmosphere. The spa was to die for. I had 2 massages, plus the therapy steam room. OH!! what a relaxing experience. If anyone likes that kind of spoiling then they must get at least one massage and the therapy room. I ventured out to the casino and played the slots for 2 evenings. Of course I lost but who cares its a vacation after all. The pools were really crowded but the deck was a nice place to sit and relax. There were many areas on deck to pick from. Remember to get any staff members name just in case you would like to recognize them with something extra at the end of the trip. I didn't and I looked for a gentleman from India and could not locate him anywhere. I really wanted to reward him monetarily. Read Less
