First, This is a big boat. But it's mostly storage for all of the passengers. There are not enough amenities to host all of the passengers comfortably. Many times we found we had to wait in lines to be seated for food, for soda machines, ice cream machines, and (most annoyingly) elevators (all the time). We chose this cruise because it was a 'DreamWorks' cruise. We thought it would be like Disney with characters going around. Not so much. In fact, hardly at all. Over 7 days, we saw 4 characters. There were long lines for photos with the crew yelling at people to "get in line!" Not so much for the ambiance. For the kids - our children hated their child center on the 14th floor. Our 9-year old described activities more appropriate for 5 or 6-year-olds and requested to not return after 1 visit. Our 7 year old only went there twice and then didn't want to return. Total disappointment. The staff kept them in 1 room running around playing games for hours. It was like a big kid pre-school. The staff seemed totally totally disinterested. Our child literally said, "I hate this place" right in front of them and they didn't even acknowledge or ask the child why. The housekeeper constantly pressed us on our schedule for the day. We would tell her that we were not sure but we would leave the sign out when were we gone. She seemed annoyed and it became very uncomfortable after several days. We really love to hit the spa (steam rooms, etc.) on the ship. These were tiny rooms. Again, unless you hit the rooms on off-hours, they were very crowded. The staff, who had to open the thermal rooms, often seemed annoyed by having to do their job. The showers were cold and there was no privacy for changing. It was terrible. Did we mention that everything was very crowded? The pools on deck 15 are tiny and filled to capacity except on excursion days. The pools were falling apart. The hot tubs in the family areas were always packed. The ice cream machines were messy and not kept up. You can sign up for various drink packages but the soda machines are not plentiful on the ship. (Floor 5, 15, & 16). They were often out of order, no ice, and the drinks tasted like watered down soda water. You can ask at various bars for soda but the bartenders often seemed annoyed. Overall, not good. Dining - The food was quite good on the first day. However, as the cruise progressed, it became clear that the cooks were recycling left-overs and just changing the food a little bit to make a different dish. Needless to say, it got stale and gross pretty quick. The main restaurant poses as a fine dining establishment. Yet, they blare announcements, loud music, and have the audience "give it up!" for the entire cook/wait staff every night - they would go on and on for 10 or 15 minutes per interruption. We were interrupted during multiple conversations with the family. It totally interrupted nice meals and is very disruptive. Lines and crowding - please be advised that you should make reservations for most things on the cruise well in advance. Expect to stand in line and wait a lot. Again, the boat is bigger but the amenities are really not. The cruise as a whole is constantly trying to get you to spend more money. The experience felt like one upsell after another. The customer service was poor. We felt like they just wanted to process us to get to the next customer. Many seemed nice but quite a few were annoyed at having to help us. Finally, getting off this cruise is hell. Everyone is thrown into a huge warehouse and we had to all be processed through customs. It was so disorganized and stressful. Terrible, terrible experience. We were told that our 'disembark time' was 10:45 AM, then the room attendant told us (that morning) that we were supposed to have been out by 9:00 AM. There was nothing in the documentation saying that!! If you like spending your vacation at a hugely overcrowded, sticky, broken mall, then this cruise is for you. Read Less

Customer service and majority of staffs working on the cruise have bad service. Extra charge was put on the account. We travel in the middle on high season some of the on board activity was cut back due to under staff and other activity have to wait in line more than 1 hours. Buffet staffs are not friendly. Got 3 main pool was small with so much people water was so cloudy. Main dinning service was great with very friend staffs. Entertainment was good but make sure you make reservation otherwise you have to wait in line and still might not get into the show. Stateroom staffs are friend much more better than buffet staffs. If you are ice cream lover you will be disappointed only available during dinner, there was only 2 ice cream selection strawberry or vanilla. During the day have frozen yogaurt machine but does not work half the time. Read Less

Amazing!! The ship is not crowded even with over 6,000 guests on-board. It’s a very different feeling ship than our many other cruises. Loved the solarium, spa, outdoor feel and awesome views. It’s a different experience than most cruise ships. Go and Enjoy!! And since I don’t have enough words yet for the review. Allow me to continue... my teenage girls like the teen club staff involvement better on other ships BUT. They made great friends on this ship and had a blast!! It’s just less staff involvement and tons of activities to do. It’s impossible to see this ship in just 7 days so another oasis experience is inevitable for our family. My wife and I enjoyed the spa experiences and the shows. Not as talented as other ships we’ve been on but the shows did not disappoint. They were incredible as well. From ice skating shows to aqua theater and comedy live shows. So much fun!! Read Less

I truly had a wonderful time on this cruise. The staff was great, the food was simply delicious, with a large selection to choose from. The activities were exiting, the shows were entertaining, except for the Broadway show, Cats. I did not care for the performance, I would have enjoyed another Broadway performance much more, example of, Lion king or Hamilton. I would recommend Royal Caribbean to all of my family and friends, I did not want to leave the ship, I wanted the fun to continue for two more weeks. I would like to let Royal Caribbean know that, they make there guess feel like royalty, it was great to experience the life of luxury for one week. I now know how the queen of England live her daily life. It was short but a wonderful experience that I hope to relive again. Cruising is the only way to vacation. Thank you. Read Less

This is my 3rd time on the beautiful Oasis. I have also sailed on her sister ship the Allure. As far as ships go, the Oasis is awesome. The Aqua Show and the Ice Show are fantastic. I think the Broadway show Cats the Musical is a poor choice for a cruise and not only was the theater not full but more than half of the guests left mid-show...not because the performers were not talented but because the show is just weird. As far as my overall experience, let me just share that I am almost a "diamond plus" member for RCCL and I have been very loyal to their brand for almost 20 years. Not any more! I was appalled at the constant "nickel and diming". I knew in advance that for the four cabins I was paying for (3 central park balconies and one junior suite) that with the alcohol package, specialty dining, excursions etc. that I would be paying just about $20,000.00 for the cruise. Little did I know that where popcorn used to be free, they now charge your $2.50 (plus 18% service fee) for a tiny little bag. Room service used to be free - now $7.95 plus the 18% service fee. My spin class had a $20 charge but then they added the 18% service fee (and the instructor was horrible - didn't even stretch us at the end of class. When questioned about not stretching he said that in "boot camp" - which also has a surcharge, they will stretch me!!!). When have any of you ever paid your aerobics instructor a tip? Toooooo Much! Cupcake class - surcharge, sushi class - surcharge, tour of the kitchen (used to be free) - now $30 plus 18%, craft workshop - surcharge, card making - surcharge, body sculpt - surcharge, spin class - surcharge, yoga - surcharge, wine tasting - surcharge - even with the alcohol package!!!! I would much prefer that I was charged $22,000 (vs. $20,000) and EVERYTHING (with the exception of specialty dining, alcohol and gambling) was included. On to the never ending service charges.... Years ago, staff members worked very hard to secure their tip. These were the days when service was excellent. The harder the staff member worked to make your vacation as perfect as possible, the more money they made. About 8 years ago, the cruise lines decided to change this and offer prepaid gratuities. This wasn't such a bad concept because it alleviated the need to hand out cash on the last night to all that helped make your trip special. This has completely taken a wrong turn! For this trip, I prepaid ALL gratuities for my entire crew. Because I know that these service fees are shared among the entire crew, I always bring a few hundred dollars in singles to hand out to the staff member that does something "special". I paid so many service fees, I gave up on handing out the singles. My one specialty dining waitress even suggested that I tip her because she will not see the 18% that I prepaid. If I am paying $180 in specialty dining service charges and the waitress is not seeing any of it (or very little), then where is it going? Do I really need to tip her more one top of the $180? The very last night, My cabin steward gave me an envelope that said "tip, tip hooray" for extra good service. Yes, he did a good job but he was already tipped when I prepaid my gratuities. Do I need to give more than the prepaid amount when he was just doing his job - nothing more, nothing less? You cannot have it both ways Royal - either remove the auto-gratuities - which will promote the excellent customer service you once offered - where your staff earned their tips...or put it in place for your cabin stewards and wait staff ONLY! My next cruise will be with Norwegian Cruise Lines. I like the concept of FREE alcohol, gratuity, excursions, internet and specialty dining!!! Ps. I prepaid the arcade card for my teens to get the online discount - at least half of the games were not in working order. Pay a little extra and buy the arcade cards on ship so you don't overbuy like I did. Read Less

For our 30th anniversary and we have never been on a Royal Caribbean cruise but we have heard how great they were. The room was very small and it was a balcony. The steward was excellent . The main dining room is good and the service was excellent but they should have a better menu selection. The buffet was good but very crowded . I like how they find a table for you but the menu was only ok. The recreation activities were excellent with no crowds. The 150 Central Park restaurant was excellent but the other fancy restaurants are too expensive because they have fees + a la cart options . The shows were all disjointed and made no sense. They do have some very talented performers but not good story lines. The fitness and spa area was over priced and there fitness staff is unqualified but that is the same on all cruise lines. They promote alcohol way too much and shopping is too much also. The cruise director was very low energy and boring. We had issues with our excursions because my wife was sick and customer did nothing to try and fix it. Labadee Haiti was beautiful and I will go back. The ship is huge but very easy to navigate. I liked the art auctions and the ship was beautiful. Embarkation was horrible it took 2 hours to board and we were early. Even though we had issues I will go back. Read Less

We wanted to cruise on the largest cruise ship in the world. However, what comes with the largest cruise ship is the largest amount of people. Large crowds everywhere, especially the restaurants, crazy busy. Can't complain though, we knew it would be since it's the largest. Embarkation was very quick and smooth. Food was very good. Especially lunch and dinner. Staff were very accommodating, friendly, and did everything professionally. Very humble crew! We did not travel with children however, there is plenty to do with kids. They'll have a blast! We updated our cabin a couple levels however, our cabin still seemed smaller than other cruise lines we have experienced. The bathroom sink was like what is in a small camper, a shallow very small bowl. No A/C plugs either? All in all, a great experience. We did everything the ship had to offer. Flow rider surfing, rock climbing wall, putt putt golf, and the zip line. Fitness center and the staff there were awesome. Shows were totally professional no doubt. The dive show and ice skating show were the best!! The ports were great. Be aware that Labadee has very pushy people in their little stores? We did excursions in 2 of 3 ports. Dolphin excursion experience was the best! Disembarkation was easy and quick. We will be back in a few years! We would recommend the self service type disembarkation. Super easy. Don't pack too much. You 'll really only be wearing your bathing suit most of the time, haha! Blessings! Read Less

Ship can be too long to keep walking here and there... but our cabin was too far forward! The ship had the best entertainment, it is all awesome! Last minute booking so price would be cheaper, so it was a cabin I wouldn't haven't chosen. And the wind can be a problem when sailing... Windjammer was a little small for whole ship. But there are other small venues. Like the pizza shop with great personal size pizza, to compare with Italy. "Cats" was inspiring, Aqua show awesome... Ice show real great; could see again. And couple very funny comedians at dedicated comedy club! The food was very good, with lobster one night. But in the end our favorite spot was in Central Park! The roast beef sandwich is worth checking out right away at Cafe! I will go back soon, when price is right and I have a person who would go with me. Read Less

We've sailed Oasis in the past as well as other RCI ships. The quality of service has been very consistent over the years. Generally, they do it all right! The shows are outstanding and varied for all interests. The only negative we found was a little drop off in main dining room service; not quite up to past standards. We've stopped at Labadee, Falmouth & Cozumel several times in the past and will probably choose a different itinerary in the future. Our cabin overlooked an enjoyable view of Central Park and was one deck below deck 15 activities. We chose a forward stateroom to be close to stairs and elevators and found it very convenient. The Solarium was close by and offered a great spot for lunch and daytime leisure. One of the biggest challenges on a large ship is location. You cannot be near everything so you have to make a choice that best fits your needs. 14185 did it for us. We will sail Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

This was absolutely the best ocean cruise we've ever had. Normally, we prefer River Cruises, but this ship may change our minds about that in the future. We booked this trip without knowing anything about the ship. What a pleasant, wonderful surprise we received. Great entertainment (which included a Broadway worthy performance of "Cats" which was amazing as was everything else we saw on ship. All our dining experiences were wonderful and delicious...particularly "Chops Grille", one of the specialty restaurants. Our cabin had a balcony and, although not a suite, was spacious enough for us and my husband's rental scooter. We loved sitting out on our balcony in the evenings with a glass of wine. The staff on board are tremendous...friendly, accommodating and able to solve any problem that may arise. We weren't interested in going on shore. BUT, there was Soooo much to do we could not experience everything available. Can't wait to sail the "Oasis of the Sea" again. If those reading this would like to view the ship, please go to YouTube and type in "Oacis of the Sea". It’s been awhile since I’ve sailed on Royal, Carnival treats us great so we never have a reason to look at other options. I do remember the last time thinking Royal did a little bit better service wise and food being slightly better. But after a few years I guess that has changed. I found the service below Carnival now, the value way below, and the cleanliness was eh... The positives were the merry go round, my daughter and nieces loved that thing. The kids area was nice too, lots of room and options. The negatives were the nickel and dime charges on everything. After spending $2600 for a room we still had to pay $50 for 2 to eat at a taco restaurant. I spend half that near port canaveral and the food is much better. Their was no view, not sure how they justify that. They have had taco stands on a few carnival cruises I have been on that actually tasted better to me. Room service was a charge where usually it’s free, food wasn’t higher quality just charging for same type food. The casino treats me great on Carnival, I get free drinks the first night of every cruise I’v been on with them. After 7 days I asked the hostess how I still don’t have free drinks and they said I didn’t have enough points. I literally had over $1000 on some bets in the casino, but I guess that doesn’t mean much. I just felt in general I was over paying for pretty much everything. I don’t mind paying for better quality, a view, certain things you can charge for. I didn’t feel Royal was doing anything but charging for the same thing in buffet/dining area moved to another area. We had bought 3 nights special dining, but only used 2 because the difference wasn’t justified in our opinion we enjoyed eating in general dining more than speciality restaurants, we did Chops twice and didn’t think we’d like any of the others. We chose to cruise on Royal Caribbean since we've been on Holland America for our first two cruises and wanted to branch out for our first trip to the Caribbean. The Entertainment on board was very good - although, I'm still scratching my head to why Cats would be a headliner on a cruise ship especially since half the crowd left during intermission. The gym/exercise amenities were great - lots of treadmills, weights, etc. Spa was great - we very much love the heated loungers. It did strike us that the ship was showing some signs of age, i.e. some spots looked like they need cleaning/re-painting. My biggest complaint, though, was we kept getting charged for drinks we never ordered and couldn't block them out - we had to report to Guest Services three times, but they did refund it every time it happened. Second complaint, the Windjammer food seemed "greasy" and understaffed. Once we realized we could use the Solarium, we stuck to that and food was good for us. The experience could definitely improve significantly with the Windjammer. Read Less

Although the Oasis is a huge ship that carries more than 6,000 passengers, it seldom felt overcrowded to our group of twenty. How the cruise line manages that many people, I don’t know, but they do an excellent job. If you are concerned about crowds or long lines, choose venues that are not so crowded. For example, avoid eating at the Windjammer at peak hours and make reservations online before the cruise for the shows offered. Don’t miss the stand up comedy, Fly With Me, or the Oasis of Dreams. (Cats was being performed during our cruise, but no one in our large group was able to sit through the entire production). We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and traveled with a group of family and friends, all wanting a different experience on this cruise. For the older group, the solarium was a favorite place to hang out. Several whirlpools, a small buffet and complete bar provides a quieter venue. For our 18 to 24 year old crowd, basketball, ping pong, rock climbing, surfing and dancing until the wee hours of the morning keep them happy the entire week. In the dining room, the staff quickly became “family”. Our dining room server Roella told us on day one to let her know what we wanted or if we didn’t like something, so she could fix it. She was true to her word and our nightly dining experiences were terrific. The ship is just starting to show a little wear and tear in the cabins, but the public areas of the ship are well cared for and the ship appeared clean at all times. Many in our group participated in a variety of shore excursions, with the active ones being enjoyed more (snorkeling, zip lining) and the excursions involving long travel times less enjoyable ( seeing ruins in Cozumel). A few in our group chose to stay on the ship at several ports and enjoyed the peace and quiet and empty pools and jogging track. All in all, this cruise was an excellent choice for our diversified group and was enjoyed by all. We can’t wait to cruise again. Read Less

I travel Royal Caribbean because of the service, experience and activities. The Oasis of the Seas is the best! Such a beautiful and sophisticated ship! Did not realize how massive she was compared to the other ships I have sailed on. The quality and professionalism of staff is top notch. The shows are first rate and like that of a Broadway show. The ship has many restaurants with excellent food for every appetite. The idinner room staff (Reylan and Julian) were very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated. It is evident they work for a good company because they are happy to help and say they love their jobs. We cannot wait to sail again. The water show was comparable to a cirque du soliel show in Las Vegas. The excursions are well planned and offer many different types of experiences. I always enjoy the Spa Experience and is one of my favorite place. The shops offer a variety of items such as makeup, jewelry, clothing, etc. The onboarding and off-boarding was smooth and seamless. There continued use of HIDEOUSLY loud and hardly understandable announcements from the cruise director, are flat-out Painful! And, the bands at the pool are also so darn loud you cant even talk to the person sitting next to you; We do NOT like it! Otherwise, we had the best cabin steward ever in Miss Grace, she was awesome! We also LOVE the fitness center and my wife had 2 spa treatments and thoroughly enjoyed. The add-on of 18% is a little irritating, especially for my purchase of the Thermal Suite at $119 for the week and then 18% for WHAT??? All they did was hand me a locker key and 4 of the 6 days I went, they gave me a faulty locker.... Bad. I am planning a cruise next year on the harmony the same week. Many people dressed up and decorated the cabin doors. The food selection was also good. Loved park cafe as an alternate healthy choice. The solarium is a nice place to hang out during the day, but it does get crowed early. I didn't have any issues finding a deck chair on the decks above the pool. I would like to either hear the band play longer outside by the pool or a better variety of music. The band only played for about an hour and then we had to listen to the same 80's & 90's pop songs over and over again. They played this same music inside the ship in public areas. Royal is my favorite line (been on Carnival and Norwegian too) and had never been on an Oasis class. We booked Oasis and left Pt. Canaveral on Sept. 3. We were amazed that there were approx 6500 guests on board. There was so much to do, so much to see that we truly never really felt cramped and crowded. With the exception of getting back on in a port.....the elevators would be slow. That's kind of a given anyway. The main dining room was awesome. Food was amazing and our waiter, assistant waiter and head waiter were the best we've ever encountered. Had our grown children and 2 grandsons with us, 3 and 5 years. They always had exactly what they wanted before they ever got to the table. Played with them, teased them and loved on them. We were blessed to be at that table. (Table 105, American Dining room) Glenn (head waiter), Jeronimo (waiter) and Savio (asst waiter) were absolutely the best. The shows were great and had us totally amazed at the talent. Comedy show was good. Kids water park/area was awesome and the boys really loved the round "lazy river". The spa was wonderful. Had massage, exfoliation, scalp massage and a manicure. Best manicure ever. Even hubby endulged a little in the spa. We were not able to return to port on the 10th because of hurricane Irma. Ship: Amazing... Central Park, Aqua Theater, Boardwalk all stood out to me! Cabin: Our room was way better than we expected. We were located at the front of the ship and it made for an amazing view at night and early morning. Bigger than we expected so that was definitely a plus. Dining: Food is great. Variety is probably what stands out the most. Definitely purchase a dining package for access to the signature restaurants as they have the best food and the staff is a step above the main dining halls. Even though the main dining hall staff was amazing as well. Entertainment & Activities: A ton of things to do. This is where I would give the only knock on my cruise experience. We wanted a few more night time options that catered to a younger married couple with no kids. Better DJ's would be nice in the nightclub and more dance parties. The first ship we went on did things to get people up and comfortable with each other through conga lines, soul train lines and dance competitions. This one did not. Majority of the night time activities seemed to be catered to older people or families. Service: Top Notch. This is a bigger ship so there is a little drop in service across the entire ship from the smaller ships we've been on. Overall, everyone is polite, friendly and helpful. Bartenders seemed to be the biggest area for improvement from my opinion. Ports & Shore Excursions: There is a lot to choose from so for that reason alone you really couldn't ask for much more. The beach chair and cabana options are pretty pricy, but that's relative to how much you value laying on the beach. Would I do it again? Yes, we've already discussed cruising again. Read Less

Our first family cruise was amazing on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas ship. Everything was top notch and the service was impeccable. Loved every minute including the special itinerary that included seeing the total eclipse of the sun with protective glasses provided for all passengers. We were delighted to be upgraded to an ocean balcony room that included a spacious bathroom, king size bed and a sofa that folded out into a large bed for our 18 year old son. Our son loved this cruise and enjoyed every aspect. The Broadway production of Cats was outstanding and the Come Fly with Me performance was amazing too! We were in awe of the level of talent in both of these performances. There was not one part of this cruise that disappointed us. We highly recommend this ship to everyone and we have already booked to cruise on this ship again. This is a cruise ship that you must experience!! Read Less

We stayed in room 1704 on Oasis of the Seas in Aug. 2017. Loved the room and the view - perfect space for a family of four. Dining was excellent! All food was fabulous and the staff anticipated our needs! Highly recommend spending the extra money on the suite for the service, dining, coastal kitchen, etc. Disappointed that many of the the treadmills were broken. Many of the arcade games took your money and did not work. Waterpark excursion in Haiti resulted in MANY jellyfish stings by everyone in our party of 7 - probably 50 stings in total in 30 minutes. Service on the ship was exceptional and really enjoyed our dining staff and room attendant. Avoided all the sales pitches. Enjoyed the quiet space and cabanas on the private sundeck for the suites - first come first serve! Recommend the cabana in Haiti. Overall, a great experience and loved our room! Read Less

Positives: Excellent customer service. Dinning room staff phenomenal. Jr suites give you so much more room (you can dress in your closet). Embarkation, security and customs made very simple for the traveler. Ship layout makes it easy to find areas on ship Problems: * Shore excursion descriptions online need to be made much clearer. Your concentrating on splash and not actual content consumers need. Example: include wither meals are provided or how long your given for meals. Include: if shopping in Mexico for hi ticket items you need to bring your passports to get your rebates. * WiFi problematic at times * Snacks after 8:30 very limited. * Discounts (lowest prices ever offered for date and room type) should be granted to those who book out the furthest, not those who book at 2-3 weeks out. * If your on deck 4 you may have to walk through smoking casino to get to a show. It was a dream vacation. Oasis of the Seas has all the amenities anyone can dream about. I love Central Park, feel and taste nature in it's best. This is the first cruise ship, I have been with such a beautiful and out of this world nature escape. The Oasis of Dreams show in aqua Theater is out of this world experience. All the crew members are warm and accommodating. I also love your jogging tracks, great location, not in the top deck where we used to bit the Carribbean heat, we were able to jog at least three times during the cruise and the gym also had the best equipments. We also enjoyed the pool and the whirlpool spa. I love the art words everywhere. We just walked around exploring all the art works an displays that are so amazingly beautiful. My only comment is that I hope you have more place to dance. We are ballroom dancers and we ended up leaving the only two places where were we can ballroom (Boleros and Dazzles because it's too crowded. Otherwise, it's a wonderful vacation. Oh! I forgot to mention, we love the Dragon's Flight zip lining in Labadee. I will do it again and again. Thank you so much. Read Less

We chose this trip because of previous experiences with Royale Caribbean. From the time we got processed and into our cabin we were then in a fun "shock and awe" in this magnificent floating city. I was pleased to see how the challenged were able to get around the ship and participate in many activities. The shore visits were a part of our cruise holiday. The staff were very friendly and took time to chat with us even though they were busy. The sections of the Cruise ship had different moods. The Chop House was the best steak I have ever had and I have travelled to over 40 countries around the world. The 24 hour cleaning and maintenance by the housekeeping staff did not interrupt our activities. Nothing was difficult for dining staff. If you did not have a spoon for your yogurt "Yes Sir I will get it right away." Read Less
