My wife and I had one of the best vacations to date on this ship. Just as a reference, my wife and I are in our late 20's, early 30s with this being our 5th cruise together and 3rd with RC. We decided to take a vacation and leave the little one home and below are what I think was great, good and needed some help with the ship. GREAT Let's start real positive, the ship rarely feels crowded. I never felt like I was waiting in long lines or trying to navigate through people. Occasionally at peak times in the promenade you might have to weave your way through some people but overall there is so much to do everyone is spread out. The Solarium is great if you want a nice place to relax. Two levels and it has a good number of chairs so you don't have to get out there at 8 in the morning to make sure you get a seat. I believe there were solar reflected windows on that side of the ship as well so you could sit in the sun and not get burnt. Only gripe I have is the pool is small but that means there are room for more chairs. It's a trade off. There is also a small area for food there were they have healthy options. Great spot to grab a little bite to each if you'd like. The food was spectacular. I will also add the the service in the main dinning room was awesome. Our server "Vini" just kept coming to our table with new food to try even if we didn't order it. They had our drinks down by the 3rd day and were always looking out for us. Two quick stories. We had a show that we wanted to see and only had an hour for dinner. We told "Vini" and he rushed everything out to us and we even had time to spare. Second was I had a fork that had some food crusted on the back. No problem, just asked for a new fork. It was less then 10 seconds I had a new fork and someone came over apologizing way more then they need to over a dirty fork. Overall loved dinner and looked forward to it almost every night. Not something I could say about earlier cruises. Getting on the ship was a delight. We got there around 12:30 so I thought we were probably going to be sitting in lines for a least an hour. I looked at my watch and it took less then 30 minutes total before we were on the ship. Was absolutely incredible how fast they were and how many people they had working there. Also note that we are only gold members and so it wasn't like we got to just skip all the lines because of status. The area known as Central Park is breathtaking. On deck 8 in the middle of the ship are real life plants and it feels like you are walking into a real park. At night they often had live classical music playing under the stars, I often forgot I was on a boat. GOOD The shows were good, I might even put in great if we didn't watch Cats. Nothing wrong with the production or anything, it was just odd. Also a lot of people must have thought so because half the people left at intermission as did we. Only way I know is because we got asked if we had seen it yet by multiple people and we all thought the same thing, they just stayed for the rest of the show. Other then that though "Come Fly with Me" was great. Pro tip, sit someone were you can see everything and not under the balcony. They use every bit of the stage and above it as well. Also the Rookie we have seen before but loved it again. The absolute must watch though is the diving show they put on. I was thinking how good can this be? It's absolutely incredible and had me on the edge of my seat. The room was very nice. My wife and I usually go with a balcony but wanted to save a little money and went with an Ocean View room and got a great deal on it. Same layout as a balcony, just without the balcony. We had natural light which was nice and same floor as the my time dinning is a nice perk. Plenty of storage and maybe I'm imagining it but the shower felt just a little bigger then other Royal ships. THINGS TO WORK ON I wouldn't call these bad, lets just say things they should look into improving. The secondary show times we all over the place. They have the main show and then they have smaller shows like battle of the sexes, or finish that lyric, shows like that. They are fun and it's unscripted so anything can happen. Typically you will get done with the main show for the night and then shortly after you have these shows, that way you don't have to wait around for awhile. These were hours after or right as the main shows were going so we didn't make it to them. When we did the host of the events were less then spectacular. And the rooms they put them in didn't always make sense. Either there were a ton of empty seats or everyone was shoulder to shoulder and couldn't see anything because so many people wanted to go. I understand they can't always predict it, but I've been to enough of these types of shows to know that system wasn't going to work. Bar Service needs a little help as well. There would be multiple places were you would go up to the bar and you would have 8-12 people around it and one bartender. There were times you would wait 5-10 minutes for your drink. I'm on vacation with no where to go so not that end of the world but I felt bad for the bartender. Internet prices. I understand this is probably a decent money maker for them but it's 2019. Paying for internet and wifi is odd, charging as much as they do, come on. At least have the option for minutes so that I can say hi to my family back home make sure everything is alright a couple times a week. Instead they make you pay $20 or more a day for internet on the ship. We didn't do it but I would have certainly paid $25 for 100 minutes of internet. 10-15 minutes a day checking up on things is all I need and I think they probably would make just as much if not more because who wouldn't do that? OVERALL This is one of the largest ships in the world and it feels and looks great. I know they are planning on doing a few updates to it soon but honestly my wife and I had a great, relaxing time and any updates that they do will just make this ship sparkle. If you are looking for things to complain about I'm sure you can find them, but why? You are on vacation! Enjoy everything around you! Don't be afraid to try out the mega ship if you haven't already. After being on a dismal Carnival cruise we wanted to redeem our cruising experience and go all out. The Oasis of the Seas did not disappoint. We booked through cruisedirect to get some additional OBC and dinner voucher. The embarkation process was a little slow, but the disembarkation was very slow, not sure if either was RCCL fault. The cruise was Western Caribbean and we really enjoyed all the ports. Our least favorite was Cozumel and that might just be because of the age of our kids. We had my family time dining, which started at 5:30 pm. They say the kids are supposed to be all fed and ready for a kid's club pick-up, but they rarely got all their food before 7 pm. I much preferred the Windjammer over the Main Dining for all meals. The WJ was always busy, but never took long to find a place to seat and had much more variety and you didn't have to wait around forever. The 2 Dreamworks parades were a lot of fun. We skipped Cats, but saw all the other main shows with our kids and thought they were all really well done. I tried out the Flowrider and lost a contact out of my eye. Be sure to back backups, something I didn't do. I was able to buy some more contacts in Cozumel at Optica Caribe. We did pretty much every single activity they had, including mini golf, rock climbing, massage, and ice skating. We did not do their zipline, it seemed very short and uninteresting. All the staff and fellow passengers were all super nice and I'd highly recommend the experience. No fault to RCCL, but our whole family ended up getting the flu on the second half of the cruise. When considering a cruise vacation there must be a higher chance of getting sick due to the sheer number of people around you. Read Less

Even though almost 500 people came down with the Norovirus on our sailing, we had a wonderful time. It’s unfortunate that it happened. I feel for those that were sick and hopefully they recover quickly. The staff was amazing and worked around the clock cleaning and disinfecting constantly. We were disappointed that we were not able to get off the boat in Falmouth Jamaica but it was the righ decision. They also made the right decision to turn around and go back to Port Canaveral. Royal gave every passenger a full refund on their cruise and a refund on gratuities and drink packages for the Saturday. Despite everything we were able to eat wonderful food, had awesome entertainment for free. Once they announced their were sick passengers, we avoided elevators, touching railings etc and the windjammer café and we’re constantly washing and disinfecting our hands. We will continue to cruise and be vigilant in washing our hands. We would not hesitate going on another cruise with Royal Caribbean cruises. Read Less

Friends had told us how much they liked the Oasis so we decided to book the cruise. We were very pleasantly surprised by the friendly crew, great selection of dining options and the variety and quality of the entertainment. The overall atmosphere of the ship was beyond our expectations. Even though the ship was at max capacity it really didn’t feel crowded. Our dining experience in the main dining room was stellar. Since they were serving over 6000 meals we had lowered our expectation but were pleased to be wrong. The Oasis of Dreams show was amazing. Particularly considering the ship was moving. We really enjoyed the variety and skill of the performance. We have never had an easier disembarkation and trip through the customs. We will definitely cruise on the Oasis again. Read Less

This is the 3rd Christmas cruise in a row on the Oasis, and although there has been thorough enjoyment on all. However, this one was over the top, the best. Can't put my finger on what made this year different, except that it was - from check in to departure. We embarked the ship with no waiting - went to our cabin and our luggage was already there! RCCL went out of their way to make sure passengers enjoyed their experience. It was a happy ship. The cruise director was experienced and knew what he was about. Handled himself in a most professional manner. He hosted a "chat" with Capt. Petersen which was most enjoyable. The Capt. was relaxed with the group and easy to talk with. There was excellent interaction and rapport with him for a good hour. Coastal Kitchen was remarkable. The menu was varied and the items served were cooked perfectly. Labadee has been upgraded, not that it wasn't very nice before, but it is amazing what they have done with the recreational facilities and the design. Lot of enjoyment just walking around looking at everything. RCCL has put a lot of time, money and energy into making the area very pleasant. Note that the shore excursions were rated excellent because there is no place for a non-applicable choice. The ice skating production is so well done we saw it twice. Aquatics theater - the performance of the swimmers - breath taking. Read Less

I really enjoy this ship...here are a few reasons why.... 1. My favorite meal/dish on the ship was Giovani's. Loved the steak and Risotto. Also loved Chops. For non specialty restaurants, I enjoyed the Main dining room for dinner and Park Cafe for lunch. Was not a fan of breakfast at any of the places. 2. I I loved Laberdee. It was beautiful and I enjoyed the beach and zip line. 3. My favorite place to hang out while on board was the pool deck especially the solarium. But... I also loved my balcony. 4 As for the shows, (Cats, Frozen, Headliner, Come Fly with Me, Ocean of Dreams) I saw all but the ice one. Favorite was Come Fly with Me. I enjoyed Cats and the others too. Cats, is not for everyone. Many people are confused about the story and the music is set in a minor key. If you love broadway you will enjoy it. If broadway shows are not your thing....I would skip it. 5. We took part in may of the other activities (trivia games, Love and Marriage, Quest.....) We love games and those types of activities so we did many of them. We won a trivia game and the Perfect Couple game. Had a blast at quest and the others too. If you are easily offended I would skip Quest and the adult comedy shows. 6. The best non-clothing item we packed was tiny battery operated tea lights that were great night lights in the bathroom. 11. My biggest pet peeve, challenge or issue encountered while on the cruise was rude people or those who do not have manners like talking during shows or rushing the elevators. Don't be that person. Also don't be that person who eats off their plate in the Windjammer while still getting food. It is gross and you are spreading germs each time you touch your food to your mouth and then grab a serving utensil. If you are THAT hungry, sit down and eat and then get a FRESH plate and get more food. Read Less

The ship was fantastic. Lots of activities. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The service was the best I've ever had. I think it was because I had reached Diamond status & the staff treated me like royalty! I was constantly getting champagne, wine, or sweets in my cabin. We had My Time Dining & we kept the same waiters. They were outstanding--spoiled us to death! The only bad thing was our room. We were doing a back to back & the room for our 1st week for your typical inside cabin. Small but certainly manageable for 2 widowed ladies. That room was 11677. The room for this week of our cruise was room 14327 & it was totally unacceptable! The bathroom had a small, very shallow sink that I couldn't even begin to wash my bathing suit in. There were no glass holders, no clothes line in the shower--just 2 hooks. The place that was supposed to be a place for your soap & shampoo to be was not a solid surface so everything placed there would fall through! The closet was a little larger than our 1st room but was only a foot from the bed. We couldn't get to it unless we slid the bed toward the other bed! Even then we couldn't bend down to get to the shoes so I just piled my shoes on the other side of the room in front of the long couch! Why such a super long couch & no room to get in the closet? Horrible room! The entertainment was great! Very enjoyable Headliner Shows. I really liked Cats. It's not a 3 hour show that so many people have said. It was 2 hours & 25 min. I saw it twice. One of the comedians, Nery Saenz was very funny in the Comedy Club & also in the auditorium, but the other one was not. Frozen in Time was very good & so was the Aqua show. Lots of good entertainment. Pools & hot tubs very good. The food in Haiti was not the best. All of the meat was dry. Good entertainment while we were eating there. Typical ports--we didn't do any shore excursions. The Dining Room had good food for the most part. Ate at Chops one night & it was outstanding. Embarkation was very bad. The passengers that had already checked in had to sit on the floor or chairs because they couldn't board the ship yet. We were getting ready to check in but were not allowed to since no one could board & had to stand there for a good 40 minutes. We were told that the Coast Guard had sent only 3 people instead the usual 18 required to clear the ship. All in all it was a good cruise on a great ship. Read Less

This is my 3rd cruise with RCCL and my 6th overall. This was by far the best one. I was worried about being on such a big ship with 6000 passengers as I have only been on smaller ships before. It was never a issue. There is always something to do and we were never bored. I had read the reviews about the ship being old and showing its age, Not true. It was not brand new but was well maintained and clean. The staff were all professional and we never had a issue. We stayed in a junior suite and it was much more comfortable then we were used to. Only issue we had was we were not able to have dinner in the Coastal Kitchen that suite guest could use. By the time we tried to get in it was already reserved for the cruise. Not a big deal the main dinning room was great. The entertainment on the ship was top rate. Cats was excellent and the diving show is something not to miss. I read lots of negative reviews of this ship and I don't see what people are complaining about. I work in a service industry and know hard it is to please some people and RCCL are great. No matter what you do some people will not be happy. I recommend this cruise for everyone. Read Less

Hey all! I am Channing, and I travelled with my boyfriend Shawn. Both early to mid 30s, from California. We have cruised Carnival twice and Princess once, so this was our first time on Royal. We originally booked a south pacific cruise out of Sydney but unfortunately, couldn't make it happen, so we opted for this cruise that looked really fun, and was easier on the budget. Shawn's mom lives near Orlando, so we were able to spend a few days with her pre-cruise. We spent most of our time lounging by the pool of her complex, and spent a day at a waterpark in Daytona! We also spent one afternoon picking up any last minute items we needed for the cruise (we are VERY light packers, especially when flying!). Sunday morning she was nice enough to drive us down to Port Canaveral and see us off. We arrived at the port about 1130, and we waited about 15 minutes for the security lines to open up for us "peasants", as Shawn would say. Once it opened up it went very quickly and the entire process was a piece of cake! We were on board, first drink in hand by 1230! Thoughts on the Ship: I loved it! I really appreciated the different neighborhoods and how they made the ship feel less crowded. We rarely waited for anything (but, we go out of our way to avoid the busy areas when they're the most popular). Shawn felt like it was too much like a city, but that's kind of what i liked about it. Stateroom: 4D Oceanview Balcony, room 9662. Midship Starboard. Great room! Very clean, bed was on the closet side. So quiet! We did hear the occasional chair shuffle from nearby balconies, but that was only if we were also outside. Shower is very small, but the glass doors are a nice touch, as opposed to those darn human-attacking curtains on Carnival! Our stateroom attendant was pleasant and worked very hard. We saw her every day. Dining: We thought the food was good throughout, with a couple of standout meals at Chops, Izumi and Giovannis. Buffet was just that...buffet food. Not overly hot or cold, but everything we ate had a good flavor and ok quality. We thought the dining room was good, but I felt it declined slightly as the week went on. Our first meal (really great) there was much better than our last, but not bad by any means. Service was always excellent. We opted for My Time Dining, and while we never waited for dinner, when we were getting seated it always seemed very clustered and overwhelming, People coming in, leaving, carts or trays of food and plates being carried in and out...just very hectic. But that was only close to the door, once we got inside and seated it was much more relaxing. Service was also pretty quick, dinner never took over an hour and a half, and even that was a longer dinner than most. I should note that we tend to be scarfers.. .many times the waiter would come back and be amazed we had finished so fast (which I didn't really think was THAT fast, but maybe it was?) We got a 3 night dining package as well. To make the most of specialty dining, Shawn and I usually share 3 or 4 appetizers and get and entrée each, and sometimes one to share. Giovannis was great. Awesome, quaint atmosphere. Food was spectacular, and portions were big. Izumi was really great as well. We only went for the sushi, as we have done teppanyaki a bunch at home (super fun if you've never been, and more food than you can imagine). We got the sashimi platter and it was the biggest cuts of fish I have ever seen in a restaurant. The nigiri pieces and rolls were normal sized and everything tasted amazing. We ordered sake as well, and it had an interesting flavor that we just tolerated. The sake was also brownish, so Shawn thinks the added flavor may have been nutmeg or something similar. Overall a great meal. Chops was our absolute favorite! My filet was so tender and juicy. Shawn got the rack of lamb. The menu stated it came with a mint sauce, but he couldn't taste any mint, but still enjoyed it very much. He also said they had the best key lime pie he's ever had. whaaa???!!! Activities: Lots of fun stuff to do at almost all times of day. Get to trivia earlyyyy!! We ended up standing for quite a few, and we got there 10-15 minutes before the game. All the game shows and silly contests were a blast, very entertaining. The flowrider is super cool, but harder than it looks! The casino is always one of our favorite spots, but we really need to remember that we only win on night one! The ice show was spectacular...i was not expecting a lot of the tricks and spins that the performers were able to do, amazing. CATS was also really great! Shawn is a theater major, and has seen Cats a few other times, but as a first timer, i really enjoyed it. The performers were flawless. I will say it's a little hard to follow at first, but stick it out, because it only gets better as the show goes on. Must see! Service: All the members of our waitstaff (in every venue) were so attentive and took a lot of care in our meal. Our room attendant was great, and really everyone we came accross during our week was friendly and smiling. We never waited more than a couple minutes for a drink at any bar, and we did see a lot of servers around the casino (and a few by the pool but not many for the area). Our ports were Labadee, Haiti, Falmouth, Jamaica, and Cozumel, Mexico. We have done cruise ship excursions before (only a couple), and we really prefer to do things on our own or book seperately from the ship. In Labadee, of course, this is impossible, so we just went off ship to check out the port, get a trinket (or 7... the marketplace was not fun. VERY pushy salesman that will not take no for an answer), and dip our toes in the caribbean for the first time this trip. We didnt even eat in port because it was a buffet and the line was...roughly 6000 people long. We will not seek out to stop here again, as we enjoy seeing some local culture in our ports, and this was just the cruise ship on land. Jamaica was awesome! We took a small shuttle van to Montego for $20 each round trip. It took us to a nice little resort area with a ton of beach, a pumpin' bar vibe, and it was on this main drag of REAL jamaica, where we were able to get some authentc jerk chicken. YES! We have been dreaming of that lunch since we left, and we tried to duplicate it for dinner last night, but it wasnt even close. Jamaicans were incredibly friendly and helpful, and while Shawn got asked to try/take/buy pot about 7 times throughout the day, it wasnt a big deal because when we say no thanks, they just say "no problem, mon" and it's all good! Cozumel was so beautiful. Shawn had low expectations (we've been to Mexico a few times before, so he wasnt super excited for ANOTHER stop there), but Cozumel was really great. We had arranged for a glass bottom boat snorkel tour through trip advisor for only $30 each (the same tour through Royal was $90 per person, but im sure that included lunch as well). We walked to a hotel just outside the port area and met a lady outside with the company's logo - SafeTours Cozumel. She greeted us (by name!), and then told us we could go and enjoy the hotel amenities by the beach or pool until our excursion started. After about 20 minutes she gathers us and TWO other people to take us to the dock. That's right...4 people on this excursion...seriously! The crew on the boat were excellent. Fun, funny, helpful, knowledgeable, and it was obvious they cared about their job and what they do. They're called SafeTours because they take extra precautions to protect and rehabilitate the reefs in the area...so cool. The crew was able to dive much deeper than we could, and got lots of really up close pictures that they promised to send us via email. They also handed out beers, soda, waters as needed, and even made me a makeshift margarita. Highly reccomend these guys! After our snorkeling adventure, we set out to find a real Mexican lunch. We ventured downt the street a little further, and ran into Ernesto's Fajitas. We, sillily, asked our server what he would recommend here, and he quickly pointed to the entire page of fajitas. Ok then! A mexican lunch wouldnt be complete without a shot of tequila to seal the deal. Lunch was delicious and our table was in the open air restaurant that overlooked the bay. Overall, we really enjoyed this Royal ship, and while we did A LOT on board, we still didnt get to do it all. We will most likely book with Royal again, but possibly on a smaller ship. Super fun, jam packed with adventure! Read Less

Chose this cruise to experience the Oasis class ship. We have tried the Voyager class before and wanted to see what the differences were. The cruise it self was fantastic. We did have some issues with weather, but that is expected in September in the Caribbean. This did impact a couple of the shows (Cats and the Aqua-theatre Comedy show). The only thing we would say is the ship itself was a bit too large for us. It took a while to get anywhere due to the size. That said, the dining was fantastic. Particularly Central Park 150. This was perfect for us, high end, great service and attentive waiters. Our room steward was great and kept our place clean and tidy. The entertainment options were great. Cats and the Aqua-Theatre are the standouts. However, we also had a great time a the comedy club and at the Jazz bar. The Jazz trio were particularly good. We would most likely go again with RCCL. However, maybe a smaller ship next time. Read Less

First time traveling on RCI as an adult and the experience was great as expected. Oasis of the Seas is a beautiful ship in very good condition with tons of activities and stuff to do. We were two couples in the mid 20's without kids. I selected this ship because the last cruise was on Carnival Fantasy in 2015 and the experience wasn't great. I wanted to show my wife why I enjoyed cruising with RCI as a kid and was able to convince her on taking this one. The price wasn't expensive, and the itinerary was good as we would visit 3 new places. Embarkation and disembarkation were easy just very long line to pass through security/customs, but it moved quick. It took us around 30 minutes to get in/out of the ship. First day My first impression as I boarded the cruise was a little disappointed. Crew member weren’t giving a warm welcome and elevators were a mess. This elevator thing was a problem throughout the week. Most times they were very crowded and waiting times were like up to 5 minutes. Even more for people in wheelchairs. I read in previous reviews that crew members were pushing to sell drink packages, but we didn’t experience that at all. Maybe once or twice during the first day. I pre-purchased the First Night Done Right but didn’t know what to do. Most crewmembers had no idea on what to do and once they told I needed to make a reservation at Giovanni’s or Chops Grill it took like 20 min on the phone to be able to get it. We picked Giovanni’s and it was the best dinner of the whole week. I highly recommend the restaurant and it is totally worth it. After dinner we went to see Cats and it was quite boring to be honest. Show was canceled at intermission because wasn’t safe for the performants given that the ship was constantly rocking. Labadee First visit to Labadee was very positive. Lots of sunshine but also enough shade. We just enjoyed relaxing by the beach. Beach we picked was quite rocky that even with water shoes made it annoying. Food options were very limited and local vendors were quite irritating but only if you approach them. Falmouth Port is big and quite nice with many things to do around and shop. Excursion, not so much. One of the worst excursions we have had. Ocho Rios highlights and Rum Tasting. Total rip-off and complete monopoly by the tour operators. Tour guide couldn’t care less, and she was not knowledgeable and clearly guessing answers to basic questions. Cozumel Today started very early. We had to be at the meeting place at 6:45 am and the Windjammer opened at 6:30am. RCI should open the buffet earlier. People don’t want to eat breakfast in 5 minutes to then get into a boat. This might be the reason why there were so many people throwing up during the boat ride to Playa del Carmen. Visiting Chichen Itza took the whole day. Over 7hours siting in a bus or ferry. Actual time spent at location a little over 1 hour, which wasn’t enough to cover the whole attraction. Time allowed for shopping was about 10 minutes. Vendors are very aggressive and persistent. Actual tour guide was very good and knowledgeable. By the time we got back to Cozumel, it was almost boarding time so minimal opportunities to shop or eat. Entertainment was great. We barely had free time. There was always something to do. Most shows were awing or funny. Food was great and many places that we didn’t have the chance to try given so many places. Although for the most part there were long queues. I can keep going in describing the ship but overall it was a great experience and highly recommended. I’m not a seasoned cruise traveler (this is #4 is 15 years) but can’t wait to go again and it will be difficult to try a new cruise line since RCI is always reliable. Read Less

I also miss the days where you paid tips to those who deserve it. This overall tipping across the board is not fair and then at the end of the cruise you've got cruise line employees standing around looking for extra tips. We're not made of money! The ship was clean. Not sure about the entertainment. We missed the shows. However, we did see the Aqua show, which was awesome. RCCL needs to up their game with the food. Years ago, we only wanted to go on one cruise line and that was Royal Caribbean. Now, not so much. Chops Grille is far too expensive. We couldn't afford $45pp. The gift shop was pitiful. This is ideal for families. So much to do there is never a boring moment and it is less expensive then Disney. Among family favourites: Dreamworks characters, zip line, mini golf, ice skating, surf simulator, rock climbing, scavenger hunts, trivia, family kids' club activities (bingo, science experiments, art, etc.) and Sorrento's pizza. And these are all included in the fare! Our kids also enjoyed the arcade and Dreamworks breakfast which were an added cost. The kids' clubs offer a wide array of activities with a great view of the sea. Our own children do not like to go to the club, but enjoy the family activities run by their staff, which are very friendly and reliable. Rooms with bunk beds are a must for our family so everyone can sleep in their own bed. This time, we tried the Boardwalk balcony room number 12709. It was a great compromise since we could still have a view of the ocean through the back of the ship and enjoy the free Coca-Cola drinks packages for 2, the family reserved rock climbing (which is very limited, so sign up on the first day!), and the Specialty dining at Johnny Rockets diner for 4! Don't like crowds of large ships? Just learn to manoeuver around them by spending some time on the ship on port days and do the most popular activities before 10am on sea days. Keep your Specialty dining reservations for sea days when the ship is more crowded. There are so many places to eat for free, we normally do not pay for Specialty Dining. However, we received a dinner for two at 150 Central Park for free and we truly enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, delicious dishes, and wonderful service from Srdjan. My husband and I used the gym and the running track (very long and shaded on deck 5). Yoga and spinning classes are at an additional cost. :( We had a wonderful time on the Jungle Tubing Adventure to Bamboo Beach in Falmouth, Jamaica. It was the perfect length and price for our family of 4 with children 9 and 11 years old. The entire excursion lasted approx. 2.5 hours with a ride in an air-conditioned bus to the beach where we left our belongings. The bus driver then took us to the top of the river where we put on safety gear and got in the river as a group with a guide. The view was beautiful, the river speed was perfect for us, and the Jamaican heat did not get to us since we were in the water. I would highly recommend this excursion. The cruise ship lost some of our pictures (embarkation day) but made it up to us by giving us two pictures of our choice for free. Last year on Allure of the Seas, we heard that everyone's pictures were lost and many were very upset. For this reason, I recommend not pre-purchasing the entire set of photos. Read Less

We had a great cruise on Oasis of the Seas. The highlights for us were the superb entertainment and service. We watched all of the shows that were available to us, and all were excellent and entertaining except for CATS. We were very disappointed by CATS because we could not follow the plotline and were confused throughout the show. The singers and dancers were fabulous, but I have no idea why CATS was signed to this cruise ship. The performers deserve better. I think my favorite show was the Aqua show, but I was highly impressed with all of the acts, including the ice show, the comedy shows, the original production of Come Fly With Me, and the Headliner Show (which was a comedian/juggler). The ship was huge, and it seemed like there was always something to do. It did not feel like there were over 6,000 people on the ship. However, I would expect a ship of this size to not experience so much rocking from the wind. The main con of this cruise ship was all of the waiting in lines and making reservations. We waited in line for 30 minutes for most of the shows even with a reservation to ensure we had a good seat, and then another 30-45 minutes inside the venue before the show began. I think the ship was a little too large for me and my family, and we will probably do a smaller ship next cruise, but that is just personal preference. The food was OK overall. The MDR food and service was superb, and we dined there almost every night. The Windjammer was always crowded and food was not the best, but the service was still great. Wipeout Cafe food OK. Solarium food was pretty good, and never too crowded. Sorrentos Pizza was great. Cabin attendants were great. Very friendly. However, if you have 4 adults in one room, it can get kind of cramped-- I recommend spending a little extra money and buying connecting rooms. Labadee was our least favorite port of the 3. It was beautiful, and the people were nice, but we couldn't even get food because the line was so long. My dad waited in the extremely long line for over 30 minutes, and the food was not good at all. Also kind of disappointing that when we went to Cozumel, there were 4 other cruise ships there, so it was very crowded. Not fair that cruise lines do not notify their passengers of this in advance. However, we loved Cozumel. Falmouth was beautiful, but about an hour from most of the fun activities, including Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios. Definitely recommend Dunn's-- it was so much fun. Overall, loved the Oasis! We had a great family vacation! Read Less

Gratuities/service charge are not optional, and also want additional tips, Compare and make a good decision! Read Less

Amazing!! The ship is not crowded even with over 6,000 guests on-board. It’s a very different feeling ship than our many other cruises. Loved the solarium, spa, outdoor feel and awesome views. It’s a different experience than most cruise ships. Go and Enjoy!! And since I don’t have enough words yet for the review. Allow me to continue... my teenage girls like the teen club staff involvement better on other ships BUT. They made great friends on this ship and had a blast!! It’s just less staff involvement and tons of activities to do. It’s impossible to see this ship in just 7 days so another oasis experience is inevitable for our family. My wife and I enjoyed the spa experiences and the shows. Not as talented as other ships we’ve been on but the shows did not disappoint. They were incredible as well. From ice skating shows to aqua theater and comedy live shows. So much fun!! Read Less

I truly had a wonderful time on this cruise. The staff was great, the food was simply delicious, with a large selection to choose from. The activities were exiting, the shows were entertaining, except for the Broadway show, Cats. I did not care for the performance, I would have enjoyed another Broadway performance much more, example of, Lion king or Hamilton. I would recommend Royal Caribbean to all of my family and friends, I did not want to leave the ship, I wanted the fun to continue for two more weeks. I would like to let Royal Caribbean know that, they make there guess feel like royalty, it was great to experience the life of luxury for one week. I now know how the queen of England live her daily life. It was short but a wonderful experience that I hope to relive again. Cruising is the only way to vacation. Thank you. Read Less

Big ship, pretty, clean, friendly staff, not many activities or variety, food wasn't great, did not feel like it was very fresh all the time. The shows were AWESOME, the waiters at the main dining room were very attentive as well as the cabin steward. Towel stations were not always open, which sucked. Having a 16 years and older area (the solarium) is cool, but it could also be 18 or 21 and up (did not have any problems with it though). I would recommend including more activities for diverse cultures, i/e more music, salsa lessons, Caribbean beats, Irish dance, something fun and innovative that inspires the guests to try something new. Less ridiculous prices and better photography crew. Some of the pictures they took from us were out of focus or out of the background area, plus the price to pay to get the pictures was too high. It should be more accessible so that all families can afford to bring home their vacation pictures and memories. It was a good experience overall. Read Less

We were part of a large tour group comprised of about 250 passengers. The ship itself is an engineering marvel and beautifully maintained. The ports of call were nothing special for the most part (Labadee was easily the best port) and we chose to stay on the ship in Falmouth Jamaica and Cozumel. Nothing authentic to see that was worth seeing outside of an excursion. Embarking and disembarking was relatively smooth given that there were well over 5k passengers. What made this cruise an absolutely unforgettable experience however was the RC staff & crew. The level of care and customer service was off the charts from everyone we encountered without exception. To be on such a great ship was one thing, and it could have easily been diminished by even average customer care. But the ship, combined with world class customer service we experienced with everyone from our cabin attendant to our main dining room wait staff and everyone in between was what made it a truly special experience. I left the ship completely refreshed, thoroughly impressed and wondering when I could do it all over again. Not a frequent cruiser but I do travel extensively and for my money, there is no better vacation experience. Read Less

My husband and I, and our best friends who happen to be our daughter's in-laws, feel that Royal Caribbean is THE best cruise line to go on! We've been on many different cruise lines and cruise ships, but one of our favorites is the Oasis of the Sea! Your crew members take good care of you and remember your name even though there's about 6,500 guests and crew on board! Crew works hard to make sure you enjoy your cruise, and make sure you are happy! The food in the dining rooms are even more delicious than the last time we were on the Oasis a year ago, and if you can't find something to do, it's your own fault! Off the ship, we went on a RCCL endorsed Jeep Adventure shore excursion in Cozumel, and our amazing guides were Pedro and Xio! To say it was fun would be an understatement! The Jeep had air conditioning which made it very comfortable in nearly 100 degree, sunny weather; the stop at their private beach for snorkeling and swimming was BEAUTIFUL, and my husband, an avid snorkeler, did not want to get out of the water! Lol! The food smelled wonderful and all who ate said it was delicious!! It was only $10 for all you can eat! There was also a bar for alcohol-beverages and non-alcohol beverages. There were also plenty of chairs and chaise lounge chairs with umbrellas and the sea breeze felt really good! (We had eaten a big breakfast on the ship and were quite thrilled that they gave us free bottles of water. They wanted to make sure we stayed hydrated, and it was obvious that Pedro and Xio truly cared about us!) The small remnants of Mayan Ruins near the ocean and the story of its use there was very cool! It was used by the Mayans to alert them of hurricanes, but that's all I'm saying about that because it was ingenious for a primitive people of the era, and you just have to try this excursion to learn more. My family of 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 14, 10, and 10 months) went on the Oasis of the Seas for our yearly vacation. Cabin was disappointing as it did not accommodate 4 people plus pack n play which was sold to me when I booked. So we were crammed in a room and baby had to sleep in our bed. One incident was when we attended a family game activity that took a rated "R" turn when the host said in front of many children "stick barbie dolls up your private". He used other choice of words but I will not repeat them. When I complained, guest services did nothing. I can never give that innocence back to my 10 yr old daughter. Cometley unacceptable. The food was disgusting so we ended up paying a fortune for the signature dining. I even met someone who's wife got food poisoning from the lobster that was served at the main dining.i will say the servers were actually really nice but seemed over worked. They were so busy that dinner took forever. We would be waiting about 20 -30 minutes between each course. Sometimes would not even see our server for about 30 min. The soda package was useless because the drink machines never worked and did not have ice. The kids program was not inviting. I went to take my daughter and we peeked in the window and saw about 5 kids playing UNO and the staff was sitting on the floor yawning. The kids had put a pair of sunglasses on a ball and my daughter said "they are so bored they had to resort to putting sunglasses on a ball". Another incident was when we went to play Bingo. The game started at 330 and they continued to allow people to keep coming and purchase cards for 50 min after the game was suppose to start. Then the electronic tablets that people were playing on kept going out. We had to keep stopping the game to get them fixed. The game ended up taking forever and we missed our next activity we were planning. When I went to the spa I got the worst overpriced manicure. Barely any massage and the paint was chipping by that evening. Not even sure how sanitary the items were. Overall I would not waste your money on this cruise. There were so many incidents that by the end of the cruise we were just done and ready to get off. We felt like we were nickled and dimed the whole trip. Read Less

Our servers were Gilman and Ronald, and they went above and beyond. The shops were unbelievable - so high end! So many restaurants to choose from - Great shows - great bars with wonderful entertainment. The excursions were so much fun - we did miss one of our excursions due to getting back late from another one, but we were given a refund immediately. Our cabin was always clean and beautiful thanks to Debra - she was fantastic! I really just can't say enough about our 8 days on the Oasis of the Seas except that it wasn't enough!!! Gilman and Ronald the table staff in the Grand dinning room at table 682 are the best I have ever had to wait on me. The presentation and the service of the food were always spot on. We have been sailing on Royal Caribbean for many years and have always had a great time! Here are a few of the troubling things that we encountered on this recent cruise on the Oasis of the Seas. 1) Our cabin steward was very pleasant however for a newer ship we found the sofa to be very worn and stained. 2) The Toilet had a black moldy ring around the water line that could be removed with the proper cleaning material. Was very unpleasnat each time we used the toilet. 3) The internet connection was the worst we have ever encountered, we complained about the one day that we could not even use it and they gave us credit for the day, however when we cruise we need for business reasons we have to have quality service. 4) We had my time dinning so we could do our own thing. We encountered in the upstairs dinning room one evening a feeling of being rushed as they cleaned all tables around us and never even asked us if we wanted coffee. They even were cleaning things off of our table while we were still sitting there. 5) In the downstairs dinning room when we sat in the same area we were asked numerous times how was the service and to please give her a 10 on the ratings. Once was sufficent but she just kept going over her routine over and over again. 6) One evening in Dazzles or one of the clubs we actually saw the guitar player snorting what appeared to be cocaine before he went on stage. VERY Disturbing!!! Read Less

Because we live in Cocoa Beach/Melbourne area and wanted to try a mega ship cruise. We concluded that is not for us. We prefer Celebrity for the size and design of the ships we have been on. We will never go back on huge ships again. The Oasis' design is such that Central Park is open air. When it rains, people cannot go there and they are jammed packed in other venues. Not for me. We are being bombarded with marketing ad nauseam. The drink packages are ridiculous for our age group. We don't drink from morning 'till night. The bar/lounges have no view of the ocean. The music that we wanted to hear was always scheduled for later in the evening. Conclusion, we now know that we really do not belong on a ship like that. We'll stick to smaller ships with design/configuration more enjoyable at our age. We are not old but older and active and appreciate different life style. Read Less
