Penthouse with Balcony (SG) Cabin Reviews

Great cabin, good layout and spacious bathroom. Shower was cramped, but jetted tub also has a shower, which we used. Difficult for special needs passenger to shower.

Disappointing : Cabin 9201
Oddly laid out. Lots of wasted space in bathroom. Shower was REDICULOULY small. I'm 5'4" and barely fit under shower head. Had to open door and step out to bend over to shave legs.

This room was the smallest of the suites (as expected seeing though it was an upgrade bid), but I loved its location - forward facing and central. You nearly felt like you were the captain, that said you did have to close the curtains at night so the bridge wasn't disturbed by lights. The room itself was a good size for two people, but what impressed was the size of the bathroom and the size of the balcony. The bathroom had a full spa bath, a separate toilet, double sinks and 2 showers (one separate and one over the bath). This was adjoined by a dressing room with ample hanging space, and a sit down dressing table. There were so many drawers and cupboards, even on a 14 night cruise we couldn't come close to using them all. Bath products were lovely and in ample supply, and there were always plenty of towels. There were also bath robes and slippers. The main bed was very comfortable, pillow top bliss, although the pillows were too soft and it seemed a challenge to find us any alternatives. I wouldn't though like to have to sleep on the couch, which was very firm. The balcony was large, with 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table; due to the cold and weather we didn't use it for long periods of time, but it was lovely to stand out there day or night and admire the view. Overall this was a great room for 2, but put 3 or 4 in here and it wouldn't be as comfortable. Read Less

This was a first suite and we were very happy with it. The bathroom was very large - there was a separate tub with jets and another shower. Toilet area and the shower only space were small. Lots of space inside, with dual sinks and tons of cabinet space. The bathroom area also included a quasi-walk in closet - lots of hanging space and drawers to clothes so you don't have to clutter the living/sleeping area with clothes. The balcony was also large, with two sun chairs and a table with a couple of chairs. It was forward facing, but we never had any wind issues. Read Less

This cabin is a very nice suite at the bow of the ship, right under the bridge. The cabin is good sized and has all the amenities you would expect from an expensive suite cabin. The main room has a very comfortable king-size bed (even though the description says queen) and one comfortable chair and kind of a couch without arms. In addition it has a table and two chairs for dining which we did use a couple of times. It also has a combination chest of drawers, writing area, storage area for beverages, coffee and ice area and a nice cabinet with glasses and cups (See Pictures). The TV is probably 40" and has two movie channels (New Movies and current movies) , American news channels, PBS and NatGeo.. The Bathroom is quite stunning with all the wood (see pics) and a large bathtub, a separate shower and toilet area. Dressing area, closet and safe and more drawer space. We were very pleased. Not quite as big as a Neptune Suite on HAL or a Grand Suite on RCCL but very comfortable. The balcony was about 100 sqft with two recliners and two chairs and a table. Even though it was up front it was not extremely windy during the sea days. and with the overhang from the bridge it was shady an appropriate amount of time. Read Less

The Cabin was very luxurious. The ship was clean. There were plenty of staff. Like I said, if you don't need anything at all, then you'll be great. If you have the smallest request, it will be a hassle, and you will be putting out the staff. Only the butler (the room service came with a butler) seemed like he cared about my father's comfort, and was happy to serve. Everyone else was just professionally courteous, but NOT warm and inviting. Have had better service on other cruises in less costly rooms. Read Less
