This cabin has a horrid smell in the carpet. The bathroom plumbing is bad. When we had showers the water would leak out the door and on to the carpet making a foul moldy smell. Their remedy was using a blower and pouring perfumes onto the carpet which gave us serious headaches. We ended up telling them to stop and we just took allergy medication and Tylenol to get through the rest of the cruise. Read Less

This was our first Balcony room. We were very happy with the size of the room and the amount of storage offered, the only place we felt cramped was the shower compared with newer vessels I have been on. The couch in our room has coffee cups and other stains that have not been cleaned, and remained the entire cruise. The rail for the shower curtain has some hooks stuck so the curtain cannot be pulled fully closed. This means that the curtain bunches in the middle making an already small and claustrophobic shower even more uncomfortable with the shower curtain always rubbing on you. The towels are quite thick but small. Sheets and towels often have Stains or tears. Judging by the stained sheet we had for the 2nd half, I believe the sheets were only changed once on a 10 day cruise. We were provided a bar of soap at the beginning of the cruise, but even when used up it was not replaced by the room attendant. The room thermostat provided no function at all. turning it to the hottest or coldest and leaving it for a few hours made no difference to the room temperatures. Speaking with other balcony room passengers they have found the same thing. Speaking with the Chief Engineer on the last sea day, he was not aware of any problems with the thermostats. In general we found the room was too hot, so we always had the balcony door open even at night. The last few days the bathroom light flickered, but was not changed. Read Less

Cabin furniture was pretty worn and could use a good cleaning. The sink gurgled when you took a shower or flushed. Ick. The layout of the cabin was awkward with built ins on either end of the bed, always knocking knees into something. The views from the balcony, however, were good and unobstructed. Balcony is a must for Alaska, saw lots of wildlife from ours. Read Less

Loved my cabin. Very clean and my steward Willie, was so very good. Loved my nightly towel animals! My favorite thing was getting up early, making coffee and sitting on the balcony dressed warm and wrapped in a warm blanket. I had the foresight to bring one along! Saw a beautiful sunrise, my first Orca and amazing scenery sitting out in the cool quiet of the early morn. The amount of space in the cabin was ample and perfect. I am a petite person so even the shower was good. Hee , hee. Read Less

The cabin was neat and clean. The bed was a little uncomfortable. I had a hard time closing the balcony door, it wouldn't stay shut. Everything else was as expected. They closed the bars hours earlier than usual on the pool deck causing us to parade through the restaurants in our bathing suits to get a drink. I felt I was nickel and dimed for every opportunity they had to make a buck. Water bottles were extra and expensive and couldn't bring your own. A mandatory 18% gratuity each person per day and didn't announce until the last day that none of that gets shared with the bartenders. An additional 3.00 gratuity fee added to each persons bill for dining at the nice restaurants that they fail to mention. And if you pay for the special dining package you better book your reservations early unless you like eating at 9:00pm. This particular cruise seemed to be aimed more for the elderly. The staff was very polite and worked hard to make your stay enjoyable. The ship is kept clean and nice. Overall it was a good experience I just felt a little ripped off. The scenery was breathtaking!
