Norwegian Star

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Star

We recommend Curacao. It had great beaches, clear water, warm water and the temperature was not too hot during our cruise. St. Thomas and St. Martin were still recovering from hurricane damage but our beach excursions were nice. We enjoyed the onboard shows and recommend them. The food was not as good as Carnival in my opinion. Our favorite place was Sheehan's. We also enjoyed eating ...

Every cruise has a hiccup or 2 and this was no exception. A cabin too warm on embarkation day, an under cooked dinner and mediocre service on occasion were not going to ruin our trip Lack of ADA shore excursions was an issue. By the looks of the number of walkers, wheelchairs and scooters on board should tell NCL that they need to cater excursions that accommodate them We had a suite with a ...

I like to cruise with NCL. The NCL Star was recently refurbished and was a beautiful ship. The staff were great and very helpful, always ready to go the extra mile. There were some good shows onboard. Food in the Versailles main dining room was excellent. I upgraded to a balcony room, and would do that again. Our cabin was roomy and having the outdoor private space was wonderfu. The only ...

My wife and I sailed with the Star to the Caribbean. We had a good time, meet new friends and enjoyed the cruise. We had a small issue with our cabin. After embarkation in Jamaica, the crew did not tie up the ramp properly. We had 2 nights at sea with a lot of noise. Then after visiting Aruba, the ramp was tied up properly and the noise disappeared. The problem came back after the next ...

Although we were one of the youngest couples on the cruise (and we are mid 50’s) it was a fantastic cruise. The staff were friendly and attentive. The ship was clean. Loved the Cruise Director, Roberto, and his staff. As always we stayed mid-ship in an inside cabin. We were in cabin 9613. No complaints other than every night in the middle of the night, the engine made extremely loud noise and ...

We are a couple in our early 50's have this was our 20th cruise ( 4th with Norwegian) and have cruised with Princess, Holland, Royal, Celeb to name a few. The attraction here was 1. destination, 2. timing and the 3. cost. This was the first 2 week cruise, Loved that 14 day holiday. We generally opt for a balcony, but chose the inside. A bit long in the inside, but the saving are spent on a ...

We planned this trip for 2 years as it has always been a bucket list cruise for us. We booked a guaranteed balcony room in order to save on costs. Around 4 months out, we got our room assignment to a balcony on deck 10 forward. We were thrilled with our luck, but it was nothing compared with bidding on day 80 on a penthouse suite aft. We found out we won 30 days out. This penthouse 8672, came with ...

Panama Canal and the "Go To" Bar

Panama Canal was the main objective of this cruise. The experience should be in everyone's bucket list. Traversing the Canal with up close and personal observation of the operation of the locks is a fascinating adventure. Finding the best location on the ship to observe the lock operation, however, could be a challenge. If being out on deck and up front is your desire get up EARLY, VERY EARLY. A ...

The two of us “young retirees” like to be away from long midwestern US winters and took the 14 day Miami to LA Panama Canal cruise on the NCL Star in Feb 2018. This was our 4th NCL cruise in 4 years after taking one cruise on the Dawn and two cruises on the Spirit. One of the Spirit cruises was a 12-day Mediterranean cruise. Comments: The Panama day was exceptional with a great narration ...
