We chose this cruise because the itinerary was appealing and it had good value. We did not have time to explore Miami before we left, but we had been there before and found it to be a nice city if you can handle high humidity. Embarkation went fairly smoothly. We were on the ship by 12 enjoying our first cocktail of the cruise. On the other hand, disembarkation was a complete nightmare. It was the worst experience we have EVER had leaving a ship. The original, final port was supposed to be Barcelona. However, at some point in time, the final destination was changed to Tarragona with Barcelona in parenthesis, which on other cruises indicates an alternate name for the same city or a city located close at hand. Ex. Thira (Santorini) The reason our ship was shunted to Tarragona, which as it turns out, was more than an hour away from Barcelona, was because Norwegian had also scheduled the Epic, a mega ship with our EXACT itinerary. GRRRR! Just hours away from Epic, the Jade was also scheduled & appeared in port at least once with us. That meant a mad scramble for cabs and overcrowding in historic sites and eateries. Also, the Epic was so monstrous, that Barcelona could not accommodate both ships. That meant, our ship was dumped at an industrial port with no clue how to process passengers through immigration. It was a mad house. We couldn't leave on foot because of security. We waited for our own charter bus they wouldn't let in, because all the ship's shuttle buses had priority. (Norwegian had offered to "help" people get to Barcelona for a mere $30 pp. via their shuttles.) While trying to exit the ship, crew members had been given conflicting information about how to direct people and there was an area where 2 different lines were snaking in opposite directions. In short, it was an awful experience and by the time we got our pre-reserved ride, we arrived in Barcelona 5 hours later. This disembarkation fiasco and the double booking of other Norwegian ships at the same ports, will be at the forefront of our minds when considering whether to sail with Norwegian again. Read Less

14 Day Panama Canal Cruise – LA to Miami Coming from Georgia, we decided to take the Norwegian Star out of Los Angeles so we could acclimate back to Eastern time along the way. We went a couple of days early and experienced a few touristy things there and then went to board the ship around 11:00 am since we had a suite. We were in room 10228. We are not normally there that early but thought it was worth seeing when we could get on the ship. We were placed in a room with other suite guests and had some beverages and sweets. Unlike when we boarded the Dawn, we all herded in together at the same time after we received our room keys. We were told none of our rooms were ready and we were sent to Cagney’s/Moderno for lunch. After lunch we were left on our own to wonder if our suite was ready. We finally found someone who was able to tell us we could go on back but were not escorted as before so we felt a little strange going into the closed door with a sign saying the rooms were not ready. When we did we were greeted by all the stewards so felt better. The room is the same layout as the last one we stayed in on the Dawn 10728 but opposite. It seemed a lot more worn than the Dawn’s suite. It was still nice, don’t get me wrong. The balcony is large enough for two sit-up type chairs, two lounge chairs and two small round tables. The bed is big and the closet is nice with access from both sides. We really like the layout of the room. For meals, we had a specialty meal package for four meals and added three meals on our own. We do not enjoy the main dining rooms. They are very loud and feel rushed. We did try both of them but always end up wishing we were eating elsewhere. We had the beverage package too and my only advice is to beware of the port taxes. Another cruise we were on we made a mistake of buying some special they had while in port and paid a large amount of tax. The daily paper tells you if there will be port taxes. Stops: Cabo San Lucas – Mexico We opted for the All Inclusive – Adult’s only excursion. This was a tender stop which is not our favorite but the resort was nice. The only problem was it was Superbowl day and they had very limited space for our cruise group. We ended up just staying in the pool most of the time so ended up fine. Hector was an awesome server there and brought us lunch and kept our drinks full. Acapulco – Mexico – Tour selected: Acapulco City with Cliff Divers – City tour was okay but great seeing the cliff divers had always heard about or read about. I would not care to go back to Acapulco. Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala – Tour selected: Antigua on Your Own which I was partly dreading because I read about the drive but it was really nice and our tour guide Julio did a great job. It was interesting see the volcano damage and smoking volcano and then getting into the small town of Antiqua was like going back in time. We spent quite a bit of time at Santa Domingo but ended up eating lunch at a restaurant close to the tour meeting location – Arrin Cuan. We tried some local food and fajitas and really enjoyed it along with a local beer. We walked a lot and saw some neat architecture but you need to wear comfortable shoes. San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua – got off for souvenir – tender and right back on (lots and lots of vendors) Puntarenas, Costa Rica – We decided to try something different and went on an Artesian Craft Beer tour with lunch. Allen was our tour guide and he made it a very good tour because the ride was pretty long getting there. We had a brewery tour, local lunch (buffet) and tried several beers. I would probably not have recommended again except Allen taught us so much along the way. Very educated tour guide and probably the best tour guide we have had in all these years. Panama Canal – Since we had an Aft Balcony suite, we mainly stayed on the back Deck and watched the bow camera and listened to the narrator on TV. The TVs are great quality so we could see the front very well and the back in person. It was quite an experience. We had room service for breakfast and lunch and were through the canal by about 4:30 pm so ended up having time to have dinner out. I wasn’t sure when making reservations if we would be able to go out so hopefully this information will help someone. Cartagena – Final tour - Columbia Chiva Party Bus! What a great way to end our excursions! We could see three party buses pull up from our balcony and I had the purple one in mind. It was a converted colorful bus that looked like a semi-truck front. When we went down to meet them we were directed towards another bus but asked if we could stay for it and were told we could. What a crazy time! From the time you got on the bus until you arrived back to port it was music, rum and coke and later beer with some sites to see along the way. We got off the bus a few times for souvenirs and photos. At the fort we went to a certain area and danced. We had a band of three locals on the bus for some of the entertainment. It was a great way to entertain us because the traffic was crazy slow! One hint, do not sit on the outside unless you don’t want to dance. That seat is the only place you could not stand up and dance. It was seven rows of people and we sat closer to the front which was perfect. Restaurants: Cagney’s twice – Always a good place for steak. We learned to order the steak less well done than we usually like it. Medium rare was more like medium each time. Teppanyaki – Always fun - great service at the 5:15 seating and not as loud Moderno – Better than we thought it would be just don’t get too much salad bar before so you can enjoy all the variety of items brought around Le Bistro 3 times – Love the French onion soup and they had some crazy desserts! La Cucina 1 time there and delivery one time – Didn’t love our visit to La Cucina but saw someone ordering a pizza so one night we had our butler bring us a pizza from there instead of the room service menu and it was much better. We had to pay ala cart but it was worth it. We did purchase the Thermal Suite pass for the trip and had one couple’s massage. We enjoyed our time in the spa and they did not over sell it which was nice. We saw all but one show and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of entertainment compared to years ago. I believe we saw 4-5 kids total on the entire cruise so it is definitely an older crowd which was fine with us. We were actually some of the younger ones. There were more walkers, canes and wheelchairs than we have seen on any trip so it seemed friendly for those slower getting around or disabled. My husband did three spinning classes but had wished they offered more since it was 14 days. Our room steward was awesome. Our butler was okay but was always in a hurry when he saw us and explaining how he had six other cabins so we always felt he was trying to help everyone else. We did not need to know about other people's needs who he was rushing off to help. Made us feel a bit insignificant. Overall it was a great trip and my husband and I are still talking after our 20th anniversary trip of approximately 18 days together! Read Less

The location was the main reason. The trip was excellent, smooth sailing, very good shore excursions although some a little pricey. Food good in Steak restaurant, Ambiance could be much better in Italian Restaurant. O'Sheean's pub food pretty good but seemed pre-made in some cases. Entertainment was the best we have had on any of our cruises, including the guest performers and the cruise group and band. complimentary restaurants food, staff and setting were great. The Panama Canal day was very memorable and a must for everyone. It was interesting to learn of the real environmental preservation efforts of most of the central America countries. The people we met from these countries were genuinely caring of visitors. Enjoyed the trip to the artist town in Guatemala. The travel was quite lengthy but through different landscapes and economic areas. Suggest Norwegian continues to offer this trip. We will continue to cruise but maybe take a little break after May as we will have taken three cruises in 10 months. Will have Norwegian as first cruise company choice in the future. Read Less

There is practically nothing to do on that ship. One good show in 14 days, boring violin music (sometimes) most of the time no music at all. Decent music on pool deck but all chairs reserved so no place to sit. Most people on that cruise were playing cards or reading. Drinks are watered down so bad that you can't tell if they have alcohol in them or not. Food not terrible but nothing great either. Lounge chairs are reserved (some people leave the towel on them overnight so no one can use the chairs the next day and they don't show up until 2pm (I checked and towels are left overnight) staff should pick them up after an hour or so if no one shows up on chairs. Went through Panama canal but crew had blocked the view on deck 7 so everybody was on deck 12-13 so we couldn't see anything then they try to sell you the pictures that their photographs took. Service stinks, waiters are also bored and it shows, if you want a drink you have to go get it yourself because waiters will not come and see if you want something. Most of the time you're ignored. Drinks are watered down, there is a 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill and they want more... Bottom line: If you're under 85 years old, get on a different ship Read Less

One of our friends mother works for Expedia and she set up the cruise for fourteen of us. It was decided on New Years Eve 2017 as we had done a similar thing with 10 people in 2016. The cruise was non stop fun. The entertainment was first class and the cruise director, “Roberto”, was very good. The food was OK, but should have been better. Other cruises I have taken not with NCL we’re far superior. Some of the stuff serve I would never given to guest in my house. Our stateroom was well maintained by housekeeping but our toilet never worked the entire vacation. We had the plumber come 5 different times to fix it but was unable to actually fix in permanently. It would stop working within a day. This forced us to use the public washrooms. This was very poor in retrospect. The bars spread around the boat were very good as well as the programs both on and off the boat. The exercise room was good, but still below expectations. Read Less

We signed up for this Panama Canal cruise in May 2017 while we were cruising with NCL in Alaska. After our 20 months wait, this cruise was finally a reality. We arrived a day early to ensure our flight was not delayed due to winter weather and stayed at a hotel in San Pedro, CA. We had a fun time in San Pedro and would recommend it for a pre-cruise day before hand. Things started out perfectly as we arrived at the Los Angeles Cruise Port on Friday 04 Jan 2019 and quickly went through the embarkation process. This was the smoothest we've experienced during our six (6) cruises. Our Kudos to all involved. The NCL Star is the same size of ship that we've sailed on with RCCL and NCL so we were prepared for it and easily found ourselves at home on it. The Star looked attractive, clean, and well maintained considering the constant use it is put through. The crew was seen actively cleaning all areas daily. We found dining to be excellent to outstanding. We are not pampered guests from our daily lifestyle so we appreciated the hospitality shown to us in all dining venues on the Star. Did we like everything they offered? Of course not, it depends on our likes and dislikes. Did we find really yummy food? Yes, just about all the time for every meal. More Kudos to the Star's chefs and serving staff. We dined in both MDRs, the Garden Cafe Buffet, O'Sheehan's Bar & Grill, Topsiders Bar & Grill, Cagney's, La Cuchina, Moderno, Teppanyaki, and Ginza Asian Dining Room. Our only dining complaint was our meal at the Ginza Asian Dining Room. The group of five (5) of us were all disappointed with the taste of the food served there and recommend NCL take a closer look at the taste of the items offered there. This one unsatisfying meal did not over shadow the rest of the great food we experienced on the Star. Entertainment was a designed to fit most people on board. The two nightly shows (7:30pm & 9:30 pm) in the Stardust theater ran from 40 minutes to one hour long. The only drawback was uncomfortable seating. The ship's Star Show Band was outstanding on stage and then when they played jazz in the Bliss lounge at different times. The ship's singers and dancers worked hard to please everyone with their four production shows as well as the other performances they supported. Well done ladies and gentlemen. We loved the juggler Randy Cabral. The other musical groups that moved throughout the ship provided a good mix of music and some of them became our favorites as the cruise went on for two weeks. The cruise director Roberto was all over the ship involved with a little bit of everything each day. He was very personal, easy to approach, and made us feel welcome on board. Kudos to Roberto. His staff conducted themselves in a similar manner so there was smiles and fun to go around daily. You just had to find something that fit your interest. We've worn ourselves out doing too many excursions on past cruises so we limited ourselves to whale watching in Cabo. The operator of this excursion was Cabo Wave who provided an outstanding time for two (2) hours. We highly recommend this excursion. At the other ports, we were happy to visit the shops that were available there. The Panama Canal crossing was our MAIN EVENT and it was fantastic! NCL brought a narrator on board who provided details of the canal crossing process which took ten (10) hours to complete. Thank you NCL as this person was invaluable for making this the most memorable event of our cruise. Looking back at the two weeks we spent on the NCL Star it was a trip of a life time. Our expectations/wishes for a great time were met and exceeded. We would recommend this cruise to anyone seeking another cruise adventure. Well done NCL Star and crew! Read Less

Just wanted to get away for New Years.....we had taken several NCL cruises in the past so we felt comfortable choosing them again. We like cruising because we like to be pampered and enjoy some nice meals while we relax. We usually boook suites in the Haven just for these reasons. NCL totally dropped the ball on this cruise..... My wife was horrified at the spa.....a woman was assigned to her who had never done a massage in her life.....she burped in my wifes ear every 2 minutes....when she asked to speak to a manager, she was avoided for 3 days and then told that there was nothing that could be done. We went to the buffets that were lacking any flavor or variety.....nobody was putting any extra effort into anything !!!! We tried to go to O'Sheehans for a "break" and were served wings with feathers still on them......we pointed this out to our server who looked at us strange and asked us when we expected her to do about it !!!! The specialty restaurants were just not up to par......we have dined at these restaurants SO many times in the past and we know what its SUPPOSED to be like......its just as if nobody cares anymore...... Thank God we already knew the Haven concierge from a previous NCL cruise to Italy....if not for her and our butler, this would have been even MORE of a nightmare. I believe that NCL came up with a great idea for their freestyle cruising....and that this gave them a lot of business.....unfortunately, they are now obviously resting on past laurels. I sent in all of this (and more) on a survey and nobody from NCL responded..... At this point, I really dont expect them to and we will probably cancel our Fall Foliage cruise with them for later this year..... Absolutely no fun involved at all when you are looking more forward to getting home than being on the cruise !!!!! At least when I got home, I only had my wife yelling at me....on the cruise, I had to deal with the "bingo-mama" and the other "entertainment staff" that was clearly more comfortable questioning the perceptions of the passengers rather than trying to address any possible problems..... At least I was happy to get home to my own toilet.....lol......the one in our cabin would spit the toilet water back up at the person sitting there every 2 minutes......never asked for a bidet....??? After more than one hour waiting we finally got seats and the service was very slow. Entertainment was very poor. All entertainment activities closed at 10pm. They said they would refund us at the end of the cruise but instead they have us a 100 dollar credit and said that was enough compensation. The food was horrific, it was worse then airplane food, so much of it was unedible, we couldn’t bare to eat it most of the time. The ship was so filthy and so packed full of people. Bathrooms were disgusting, pool was nasty and jacuzzis unsanitary, as well as all of them being cold. I can not believe they did not refund anything after this experience. We like going to the Mexican Riviera as it is close to home. Would rather the volume of all entertainment be turned down instead of increasing the volume for every venue. Kids club needs alot of improvement. I would have loved to have the swimming pool heated. After a conversation with the pool hand and the engineer in charge of the pool we were told that it was a law that the pool had to be a certain temp which was set at 26 degrees celsius. If you have more that three guests in a cabin be sure to check that they have pullman beds and not a bed in between the other twin beds. The configuration should be redone to accommodate four people comfortably. The speciality dining package was not too good. Mostly fat at the Modernos. The Le Bistro doesn't offer to much of a selection. Cagney's was the best but if you don't sign up ahead of time you can forget eating before 9:00pm. The entertainment could have been alot better if the volume had been turned down at all venues instead of cranked up to the point of wearing earplugs that still did not help. Many guests around us felt the same way and we saw crowds of people get up and walk out along with us. The kids club was awful especially when NCL advertises computer games. My two grandchildren saw only balls being tossed around and my little 6 year old got hit in the leg and that ended it for her. My 11 year old grandson refused to go as he is only interested in computer games. Much improvement needs to be done with the kids program. Read Less

Chose to go freestyle instead of Ruby Princess which has been our choice over many years to the Mexican Riviera in December. Stateroom even though midship towards the front (4009) had humming noises nonstop. Called guest services several times to report it. Once an officer came and confirmed noises would make one difficult to sleep. No further follow up by guest services to tell us the reason for the noises. Entertainment nightly in the theater was excellent with wonderful production shows except for 2 nights a comedian and a magician which were also entertaining. Many venues of entertainment throughout the ship most of the time except port days. Music throughout poolside, atrium and lounges were entertaining. Good selection of menus throughout specialty, buffet and dining rooms. Had a dining package so was able to sample most of the restaurants. You could also have some complimentary meals in some of the specialty restaurants which was nice. We enjoyed Ginza and O’Sheehan’s offerings. You could always go to O’Sheehan’s which was midship and open most of the time. Nice Internet cafe with tables for playing games. Departure from the ship was a disaster with lines of people waiting to come off the ship. We chose to wait until the lines had cleared before coming off. We found wheelchair service was a premium and not enough people assisting people embarking the ship. Read Less

We looked forward to this cruise for over a year. Last time we cruised with NCL meals were awesome, entertainment top notch, service was excellent and staff very friendly. We purchased extras on this cruise, unlimited beverage package, tour package and paid gratuities. During this cruise it was very hard to have someone to take a drink order while around the pool, you had to go to bar and order your own drinks. Highlight of the cruise was our waitress in the Gatsby Lounge she was awesome and spectacular, along with our speciality restaurant Cagneys. The Garden grill had same boring meals breakfast, lunch and dinner. Complimentary Dining Versailles and Aqua hands same meals each night. If Lobster is on your plan or a nice steak sorry your out of luck. Size of appetizers are so small, I ordered Rack of lamb and was looking forward to it and was completely taken back when plate came to me with some kind of shaved meat. Every meal I ordered was the same except for when I order the Fish and Chips from O'Sheeans it was LongJohn Silver quality. The tour in Cano San Lucas highlight of tours. There was only one day when they talked about the canal versus Princess who had movies and documentaries along with a historian on for most of the cruise. The ports were ok but we just felt like there could have been much more to make thiscruise special. The food was very average. The salad bar never changed much. Desserts were tasteless. The theater was pitched very steeply and it was difficult to walk up and down. Entertainment was very poor. We were disappointed in the lack of guest speakers to talk about the canal. We have had documentaries and movies about the canal on other lines. We felt the ship excursionto Antigua was rushed and not worth the price. AS a first time cruiser, first of all, I chose NCL Star because it has all the places I wanted to see in one trip. Travelled with my family of four, sisters in law and brothers in law and a niece (12 adults!). We booked three from the five excursions as Kotor and Corfu were easy to move around by ourselves off shore. Unfortunately, Santorini was crowded (as there were 5 ships docked) that we did not enjoy as much as we wanted to. Besides, we disembarked late as another tour was waiting for a couple of people who were late for more than 30 mins. We should have not been penalized for the lost time, as time is gold when it comes to see these places. I suggest they should be firmed with time. Leave them if late for 30 mins. Cabin, had all the comfort the we needed. Our housekeeper, Jericho Barlan was great in keeping our cabin nice and clean. Dining, great food, can't complain! all restaurants and the bar and grill places were splendid. Service in dining, shout out to Benjamin Dela Cruz and Cherry Arbo who made our dining enjoyable, fun and well attended. All of the staff were great, they brought smiles to all of us. My only critic, the staff who lead us for final disembarkation requires more information and training to properly direct people where to go as different exits were not for everyone. This was a bit chaotic. Overall, I would cruise with NCL again. My family had a great experience and we enjoyed it a lot!! Read Less

7 Day Greek Islands from Venice. Embarkation was easy, but it was quite a walk from the public people mover. Our room steward was fantastic. Greeting us by name as we arrived to our room. Entertainment was excellent as well as the variety. The Cruise Director was only seen at evening events, which was odd. Food was great. Specialty restaurants were always full so we didn't get a chance to partake in them. It was hard to get used to no straws onboard. Ports of call were Corfu, Kotor, Santorini, Dubrovnik and Mykonos. Elected to take the double decker bus in Corfu. Montenegro we walked to a nearby beach. Took beach tour in Santorini and a city tour in Mykonos. Didn't care for the city tour in Mykonos at all. Was way too expensive for the very few places it went. Game of Thrones tour in Dubrovnik was good (until our guide left us while we were getting water) which was half way through the tour. Complained but was only offered a small discount. Truly disappointing. Also, as a Gold Lattitudes I should have received a discount on excursions and was charged full price on my bill. Overall had a great cruise and really loved the ease of maneuverability on this boat. Read Less

We traveled with 32 total friends and family. By family my husband and I brought our 2 sons, 23 and 19 yrs old. The total trip cost our family approximately $20,000. The cost per person on NCL was very reasonable, it was the other costs that really added up for a family of 4 from the US to get to Italy and stay in Italy the night before and after the cruise. This time of year it is 95 degrees in Italy and Greece with lots of tourists visiting. I was surprised by the desert like conditions on the Greek Islands. The shops in each town were all very similar and very touristy. Would suggest going to Paridise Beach in Mykonos- well worth the bus trip and fee for a chair and umbrella ($7 for chair and $6 for umbrella). Also did the hop on hop off bus in Korfu that was worth the price of $20 per person. The tenders were extremely crowded and hot. Would suggest waiting until all the assigned tenders have completed their routes then go to shore after all the big crowds on a tender that is not full. Be prepared for crowds of people no matter where you go. Also be prepared for lots of walking and wear comfortable shoes for walking. An older lady in our group twisted her leg and injured her tendon needing to use a cane a majority of the trip. This cruise is not for the elderly or those that are not mobile. The stop in Croatia was by far our favorite with a visit to the Old City Walls. Be prepared to walk up over 1,500 steps but it is well worth it. Compared to other cruise lines I've been on, such as Disney and Royal the main dining choices were not as grand. As an example, the prawns were not the size nor taste of those on other cruise lines. We were pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a wait at any of the dining rooms for diner. We did plan ahead and scheduled diner with reservations every night; however even when we didn't have a reservation there wasn't a line. The wait staff at poolside was very pleasant. The wait staff in main dining rooms treated you as if they were they to get your order and drop off your food, not customer friendly at all. The shows were good but not as grand as other cruise lines. The variety was also disappointing - too many singing and dancing shows. The room was to be as expected. Met our expectations and was kept clean and tidy for us at all times. Can't say enough good things about Melvin our cabin steward. Would not do this particular cruise again, but mostly due to the port of calls not the cruise line. The temperature was too hot and there too many people and the atmosphere was all the same shops at every port. Overall NCL did a good job but did not exceed our expectations. Read Less

First ever cruise so wasn’t sure what to expect. I chose it for the itinerary - especially the GOT filming locations and Venice. Embarkation and disembarking were easy. Pros - refitted ship is lovely. Spa was a lovely retreat from the heat and crowds, well worth buying the spa pass. Food was mostly good with quick service, especially Aqua. We never had to wait for a table, even for Ginza, which was excellent. Liked Sky high bar and Gatsbys - 5oclock bar was used mainly as a corridor by people. Spice h2o was ok but not very well thought out. The two ‘big’ shows were excellent, especially ‘Paradis’. Staff were all friendly and efficient (mostly) although having to wait 10 minutes for Soy milk at breakfast buffet was irritating - why wasn’t it out with the other milk? Cons - The drinks stations in the buffet were totally in the way of traffic flow. Any live music was ridiculously loud, whether in the atrium, bars or pool deck. Tendering was hit and miss, Kotor took 3 hours for 20 tender trips - it was a half hour boat ride to the dock. lining up for tickets at 5.30am is not anyone’s idea of a relaxing holiday. OSheehans food was never really hot, barely warm burgers and cold wings were low points. We went to a whisky tasting session only to be informed we had to pay $20 each for the privilege! No indication of a charge in the daily. No chance. Read Less

Explored Venice prior to the cruise departure - used the Crown Plaza associated with NCL - this was great!!! Grand Canal area of Venice was spectacular - hot, but beautiful views. Bus from hotel to ship was smooth and effortless - ship check in very smooth The overall ship is very nice - a smaller ship - which makes everything feel very close - yet comfortable. Most staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Food in Cagney's, and Tepanyaki were great. The desk person at Moderno was the only rude/nasty person we came in contact with - we were 10 min late - (had trouble finding the restaurant) - reservations say it will be held for 15 min. The desk lady took it upon herself to make us feel terrible about being late - we almost left. The food was OK - but not great. We had to ask 3 times for the meat tongs, and had to ask twice for the cheese bread (signature bread of the restaurant) Cabin steward Roberto was great!! Always friendly & smiling. Every port was great, excursions were well organized. My husband decided to skip out on one excursion - and the excursion desk had no issue at all with refunding the cost to my onboard account. Overall I love NCL - I have cruised with them 9 times!!! The one rude/nasty person must have been a fluke - maybe she was having a bad day... Read Less

First i this is my 7th cruise and i have seen good and bad, but i have never written a review, I booked this cruise (4 cabins) for a large family cruise. One of the rooms (10093) had a large constant vibration. It did not matter if the ship was at sea or docked. Several cruise employees came to listen and agreed that this was very bad (kept passengers awake) and that they would get back to me on a solution. Their solution was a $5 bottle of wine. I told them this was not acceptable and after politely discussing the situation for several days, they offered me a $100 credit toward anything on the ship. I found this insulting as we paid over $3000 for the trip. The ship is old and needs to be retired. The food on the ship was absolutely horrible the first two nights in the dinning room, but after that it was like normal cruise food for the last 6 nights. The dinning staff was average, and i have seen better on other cruises. The stateroom was clean and the steward was fine, but not as friendly as other cruises. I have always watched the entertainment "shows" on all the cruises. The shows on this sailing were so bad, i only sat through one show completely. Read Less
