Pros: Itinerary (prior to the changes) Best haircut on a ship Decent food Excellent special bar activities (Martini Tasting, Margarita Tasting, Black Glass Wine Tasting) Good cabin stewardess Decent bathroom/shower Tango/Gaucho show was excellent Smaller portion sizes so less food waste Cons: Inconsistent handling of tenders (poor to very poor) Inconsistent service ...

The ship was nice, but the shore excursion process was painful

Review for Norwegian Star to Panama Canal & Central America

We chose this cruise because we wanted to go through the Panama Canal and had been to most of the Mexican ports that would be covered by a cruise starting or ending in California. We were particularly interested in the Colombian ports, which were cancelled two weeks before our sailing date and NCL would refused to let us cancel and get our money refunded. Supposedly the ship had "mechanical ...

Winter Cruise Joyful, Cruise Line Not Soo Much

I choose this cruise because of the port stops. Because of mechancial issues with the ship we were not able to accomplich all the ports on the tour and other ports where we did stop the shore excursions were curtailed. These mechanical issues with this cruise ship were known well in advance of our embarkation (the last two cruises were negatively impacted) and was not revealed to us until the ...

This cruise for our time line for our group and went to ports we wanted to see. Or at least it was supposed to. A week before we flew to Venice we got notified that there were “technical issues“ with the ship and would be missing two ports. They also shortened the time in the rest of the ports we were scheduled to actually visit. For this we got only a $100 non refundable onboard credit. We ...

Cruise Ship Ok, Food Good, Staff great - Itinerary change poor communication

Review for Norwegian Star to Mediterranean

To start off with I want to clarify the rating of 2. It is not a reflection on the staff (except maybe the Captain), the food or the general boat, though there are some small gripes about that. We, and a lot of the guests, booked this cruise because they wanted to go to Kotor and Santorini. There was an unexplained problem with the boat and so they cancelled Santorini and Kotor. This meant we ...

We chose this cruise specifically to visit the ports of Santorini & Mykonos. NCL advised us that they had cancelled three of the six advertised ports when we arrived at the port of embarkation , including the two signature ports. We were also disappointed that the cruise as advertised did not have any sea days, whilst in practise, two of the seven days were spent at sea due to the ships ...

We have cruised with many different cruise lines in the past but NCL has been our go to cruise line for several years and we have had wonderful trips until recently. we did a caribbean cruise the end of September on the Breakaway, which included 4 ports. we arrived at the first port at 4 pm and most everything was closed. the next day we woke up to find that we had not moved on to our second ...

We chose the cruise as we had cruised on the Star before in Asia, which was fab but also the destinations looked great with Greece, Croatia and Montenegro. This was our first Med cruise however we have been on several cruises before this in other parts of the world. First of all the destinations were excellent. Can't fault any location. A bit difficult with logistics in Venice getting to the ...

I loved everything about the cruise and the ship. The food, accommodations were great. State rooms were a little small but we had a balcony. My disappointed with the cruise line, was there was no Greek food. I feel since it was a cruise thru Greece, they should have had a least one night with Greek food and deserts. I enjoyed myself and liked everything about the cruise. The service was great, ...

Only the Balcony Views Were Good

Review for Norwegian Star to Mediterranean

Choose this cruise if you're young and can take a lot of chaos AND if you haven't done much other cruising. The public areas are noisy and hectic, with kids in the hot tubs and everybody screaming at each other. The food was junior high school cafeteria level, and most every dish was barely warm. It answered the question, How can you spoil a hot dog? Pastry and breads were routinely stale. You ...
