My boyfriend and I really loved this cabin. Deck 9 is a great location with everything you want being just below you on decks 6 & 7, and above on decks 12 and 13! It is not the location for the lazy types as it is a bit of a walk from the stairs/elevators. Directly across the hall is the art gallery storage area and twice we encountered a hallway full of art piled up (you'd think they would treat the art a bit more carefully..) but it was not a problem at all. The room is directly above the wake, and being in the back of the ship, you will not get an insane wind breeze at all. Sitting on the balcony is extremely comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed sleeping with the balcony door open each night to hear the soothing sound of the waves. As far as space goes, there was plenty of storage space for all of our belongings. Although the room can accommodate 4 people, I cannot image 4 adults having a good time sharing that space. It was not small and I didn't feel claustrophobic, but it was not large by any means. If I were to cruise again, I would love to be in an aft balcony. Read Less

We stayed in an aft facing balcony cabin on deck 10 (10168). I had originally booked one on deck 9 but after reading some posts here on CC about the larger balconies on deck 10, I called and switched. Thank you CC! I also read that the balcony cabins on NCL were smaller than those on RCI and when we first walked in it appeared to be true. But after looking closely, they are shorter but wider. My opinion is that the space is the same and I prefer NCL’s wider stateroom. We had ample storage space which is a good thing because DW tends to overpack. The layout of the bathroom was great and no clingy shower curtain. I thought the coffee maker was a great feature that NCL provides. Read Less

Compared to NCL Epic and a few other cruise line ships, there is a lack of storage compartments. We used the couch seating area for storage. Being a convertible couch there is no underneath storage. The bathroom is divided into 3 stations: Shower, sink, toilet. Each station has enough room for an average size person to turn around. If you carry extra weight or are a tall and wide person, you will bump. We did not use the coffee pot. Next time we will ask that it be removed. For us there were enough hangers in the closet. With planning what and when to move items from and to the luggage, we made efficient use of the shelves. Small safe with digital button code above the shelves. It is too high to see clearly because I have progressive lenses. At least it was not on the floor in the back of the closet. Nice thing about an aft cabin is that there is very little passageway traffic. The first day there a few people in the morning looking for an open deck viewing area. One night there was a couple looking for "the front of the ship." Politely noted to them to look at the carpet in the passageway. The carpet pattern has schools of fish. All of the "fish" swim in the direction of the bow. Art show storage was across the passageway. Although attempting to be quiet, some mornings they banged and bumped carts loaded with framed paintings. To me not a problem, but I was aware of who was outside my cabin and what they were doing. Smaller than your average balcony, and definitely not worth the extra money. This was the first time I've ever cruised that the room steward didn't introduce themselves and check to see if we needed anything.

I took advice from previous postings and booked an aft balcony stateroom. I concur with a previous review - an aft stateroom balcony provides the grandest vantage point for viewing Marjorie Glacier and Glacier Bay in general. It was worth every penny to be able to sit outside and soak up the scenery as we moved through Glacier Bay and during transits to other ports. We have amazing video and photos from the balcony. A great touch was having park rangers onboard to provide narration over the ship's intercom system. One note about a prior review complaint about stateroom 8634 being too noisy because it's over Bliss Lounge: If you are sensitive to noise, you will want to go higher. However, we had no noise or vibration problems. My advice- pack ear plugs and use them if you need them. Read Less

Just perfect. Plenty of room for our suitcases and clothing - there were two of us on the week long cruise. Lots of drawer and shelf space. Cabin was clean and nicely maintained. Everything was in working order. Nice shower with soap dispenser and shampoo dispenser which was enough for me. There was a shelf in the shower for my wife's things. The toilet area was a bit cramped but it worked. The bed was comfortable enough and queen size. The aft balcony was a real plus. When the wind off the ocean was cold, the aft balcony was fine. And did not have to worry about the 25 mph wind from the ship moving forward. Deck 10 aft is an excellent place. Room was quiet and conveniently located near excellent dining choices. Steward was great. Read Less
