Where to start? we have travelled for years both ocean and river cruising, and never on a mega-ship before! To begin with, if you like your sleep! forget it! this modern ship has cabin doors which are of the automatic slam shut ! variety, consequently 24/7 doors are being slammed the length of the vast corridors, and no one thought to hang on to the handles as the doors closed, why 24/7? because ...

This cruise was to celebrate our 25th anniversary and we wanted to experience places in Europe we have never been before. The itinerary we booked was for 6 ports starting in Warmemmunde (Berlin). When we arrived in Berlin a few days before the cruise was scheduled to pick us up, we received texts messages form NCL saying that they were not going to stop in Berlin and that we had to get to ...

Booted off the ship in Copenhagen with very poor support

We embarked in Warnemunde Germany on September 15 and should have disembarked there on September 24. However, at approximately 11 AM on September 22 we were informed that we had to leave the ship in Copenhagen on September 23. A mad scramble issued to make new travel arrangements. Only 5 computers and 5 phone lines were supplied to make these arrangements. If you used the ships WiFi or your ...

Cruise ended one day early due to bad weather which was totally acceptable, except the crew did absolutely nothing to help all the passengers to make arrangements to get from Denmark to Germany. They basically threw computers at us and said "google how to get to Germany". I was appalled at the lack of concern for any of us. I know it our cruise contract it states that they can end the cruise ...

We were travelling in family with 1 young children. On this cruise we embark in Rodstock, Germany. The ship was found not as sumptuous or practical as Royal Caribbean ships but has interesting water park (this was our selling point). By the way the minimum height for the water slides is 40 inches except for the free-fall for which it is 48 inches (unlike advertise on their web-site). For ...

We had a great time on the Baltic Sea cruise until I fell and broke my wrist. I had to have surgery in Copenhagen. After telling both my husband and I that NCL would be there to help us through the medical stuff, hotels, rebooking flughts home, etc., they put me in an ambulance and we never heard from anyone again. We were blessed to have some wonderful Danes help us in the hospital, find ...

The first and last time on NCL

This cruise was chosen because it met the timelines available for our two grandsons who were graduating from high school as well as most of the destinations that we thought important That said, as frequent river and ocean cruisers we were significantly disappointed in our first NCL experience. The definition of a mini suite was in fact no more than a balcony stateroom on most cruise lines ...

This was our first time on NCL. We have taken approximately 15 cruises, 10 of which have been over 10 days and sailed to a variety of ports in Europe and the Mediterranean. My husband & I picked NCL since it went to places we had not been in the Baltic. NCL was very reasonably priced, so that gave us more time to spend in Europe pre & post cruise. Our poor experience started before the cruise ...

Nice ship but way too crowded

First, the positives: the ship is new and in great shape. A lot of restaurants and activities. Great cabin showers. Efficient crowd wrangling, which is important with a ship of this size (about 4000 passengers). Interesting ports around the Baltic Sea. But... the negatives really outweighed the positives for me. I've been on about ten cruises, and this was by far the worst experience. The ...
