Nice Employees, Good Food, Disappointing Itinerary Changes

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

I chose to schedule this—my first—cruise trip, to spend some time with good friends and visit places I've never seen. I was especially interested in visiting Santorini, Greece and Montenegro. Nevertheless, I was disappointed when, after starting the trip, was informed that both destinations were cancelled. Furthermore, the reasons were generic/non-specific and only given thru a letter left at my ...

Bad communication, but great crew

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

We had a wonderful time on our cruise. However, when the boat shook in the middle of the night, “code bravo” was said over the intercom and there was very poor communication. We were only told that there were “mechanical issues.” This caused wild gossip throughout passengers on the ship, which could have ceases with proper communication. The truth probably wasn’t as bad as the stories people were ...

We were looking for a cruise in October to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We like Mediterranean, and have already cruised on this ship. Cabin was okay. Nothing special. Somewhat cramped, but generally typical for standard balcony cabin on Norwegian. We have been on this ship before, and have done several Norwegian cruises. We are Platinum level. Overall, we feel that quality of ...

Great way to see Greek Islands

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. It is a great way to get a taste of the Greek Islands and Croatia. Would definitely come back and spend a few days in a couple of the destinations. The Norwegian Star is a nice ship with recent upgrades. Our mini suite cabin and spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of storage for our family of 3. We have sailed with Norwegian before, and ...

Good but not Great or the value expected for the money

We sailed NCL once before and loved the itinerary. We like the itinerary scheduled for this cruise but found it disappointing on several stops. 1st, the stop to Kotor was canceled but the excuse given was that the departure from Venice was delayed 2hrs. I take issue with the cancelation since we made a two hour stop at a port just beyond Kotor and arrived there about 6 hours before we were ...

This was our first cruise with NCL. I am a travel agent and my family has previously cruised several times with Disney and with Royal Caribbean. We know cruising Disney spoils you but we went with NCL for this itinerary, the promos they offered and the pricing. (Which by the way was amazing in every way) We bid for an upgrade and ended up in a Mini Suite Balcony which was amazing on every ...

Our friends had a destination wedding in Santorini and we were invited to attend as a guest. Always wanted to visit Italy and Greece and thought this was a great chance to do that. We had been on one Cruise before with another company and had a great experience. Unfortunately, this trip did not rank as highly as our 1st cruise did with another company. Food was average, service was very slowww, ...

Good cruise but itinerary changed

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

We chose this cruise because we wanted to visit Venice (2 night stay prior to the cruise) and also visit the Greek isles and Dubrovnik. Prior to the cruise the stop at Kotor (Montenegro) was changed to Bar and this was a 2 hour ‘technical’ stop so no getting off the ship (Kotor would have been 2.30pm-8pm) Apparently this was due to the Venice port authority making changes to our departure time ...

Booked with a Group. Ship overall is average. Guest Service at Registration desk is poor, seemed bothered with any questions. Bar, Restraurant, and Fitness personal very good. Food is average. Stops at ports were changed frequently which caused some adjustments to booked tours. Learned to check also on how many ships will be in port at one time as many of the stops were extremely overcrowed. Many ...

Washy, washy

Clearly there was a health problem with the Ship as staff were disinfecting/washing continuously. No condiments on tables, no self service at the buffet and getting a hot drink was a terrible ordeal. I did not hear of anyone coming down with the dreaded norovirus. Whilst prevention is always better than cure this became an absolute nuisance. The ship is coming up for being twenty years old ...
