Enjoyable transatlantic cruise, but entertainment was poor

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We have just completed our 13th NCL cruise, a transatlantic cruise on the Norwegian Prima. We sailed on the transatlantic crossings of the Bliss and Encore and loved both of them. We have also sailed on other cruiselines. All staff and crew were excellent. The food was very good in all venues, albeit limited in the small buffet. The transformation of the theatre into a nightclub in the evening ...

Prima Class -Never again!

We boarded Prima with full knowledge of previous negative reviews. Due to this, we made a conscious effort to look for the positives in our experience onboard. Most people at the start of the cruise agreed with us that the ship was beautiful and the décor was light, modern, and seemed spacious. The sculpture art outside is fabulous, but some smaller aspects have been missed. All toilet roll ...

Not a Baltic but Transatlantic

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

The 14/06/22 departure was not a Baltic cruise but a 13 nights repositioning cruise from Copenhagen to Port Canaveral. On arrival at Copenhagen Airport I was surprised by the very well organised Norwegian meet and greet. It took about one hour before they started transportation to the ship. Some people got nervous, expected huge lines at check in, and preferred to take a taxi. There was no ...

Other than getting on and off it was all pretty good

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Epic

This was a repositioning cruise, so it had both a great number of ports, and a reasonable cost. On the Pro side: - Ports were Good. Arrecife and Tortola are a bit underwhelming, but otherwise, the ports were very nice. My favorites were Palma and Funchal. - the ship was nice. Clean, lots of eating space. - the balcony was great. The weather allowed us to really enjoy it. - ...

A great experience on the Star

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Star

My wife has taught Kindergarten for 39 years. She only had only item on her bucket -- to take repositioning cruise just to experience doing something that isn't in the high seasons: summer, Christmas, Easter. Norwegian was the obvious choice -- it puts more effort into adding some interesting ports of call at one end of a transatlantic crossing, and the price was the most competitive. ...

I like NCL cruise line just was not happy with this cruise experience this has not been my first cruise with the company. I do enjoy some things like free at sea that they offer and i didn not enjoy other this like they could have done more activities during the sea days but it was kind of monotone thru the sea days. I was really disappointed with the glow party i was expecting a little more in ...

Working out the kinks...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Encore

An inaugural cruise is used to get the kinks worked out. Let's remember that the ship was just delivered from the shipbuilder to NCL only days before the transatlantic crossing. So, we couldn't be expected to find everything flowing as if the ship had been in service for months. Yes, there were issues with the spa's thermal pool being cooler than normal on that first day at sea. And, it had to ...

Enjoyable Transatlantic Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Encore

We were on the inaugural voyage which started in Southampton and ended in New York. Although the weather was lousy we still had an enjoyable cruise. We stayed in a balcony cabin with the extended balcony. The room was very nice with adequate closet space and storage. The 3 US electric outlets and the 2 UBS ports were very useful. The lights by the side of the bed allowed for focused lighting ...

First transatlantic cruise on a new ship!!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Encore

Well, always wanted to do a transatlantic cruise, why not on a new ship. The embarkation was quick and painless. Since the Encore is pretty much the same as The Bliss and The Joy, it was easy to find everything. Everything was so clean and fresh. The entertainment was wonderful, enjoyed every show. Love the snow crabs, grilled king crabs, and the giant shrimps at the Garden Buffet. Love Ocean ...

ENTERTAINMENT-my 11th NCL cruise and still can say the sound techs still don’t know what they are doing in their field. Choir of Men are very talented. The sound tech had no ability to mix the background vocals- they couldn’t be heard. During his stage performance, the hypnotist more than once gave them directions on turning the volume of his microphone up. Christopher Caress, hypnotist was ...
