Nobody comes on here to write intentional negative reviews ( I hope) . As a cruiser of 30 vacations with different companies I feel I must comment on the short comings of the Prima. Beautiful new ship , great cabins, really good food, ( post covid this is not true of all cruise lines!) Sailed on the Prima from Barcelona on 20th November. We arrived at the airport after an early morning flight. Met the NCL reps and were asked to take a seat and wait for bus to take us to the Terminal. Let me start with my impression that Norwegian Prima is a stunning ship, looking at it from the outside, and as of Nov 2023 still has a new ship feeling with everything in pristine condition. The highlights in my opinion are the outside of deck 8, called Ocean Walk (aka promenade deck) and the staterooms (more about staterooms in that section).

Love doing transatlantic cruises and have cruised with RCL, Disney, Norwegian and Princess transatlantics- this was by far the worst cruise in my 20+ yrs of cruising. We chose this transatlantic cruise because of its port intensive itinerary. The added attraction was that it was scheduled to only have 4 consecutive days at sea. We ended up having 6 days at sea because the ship was unable to dock in Ponta Delgado due to poor weather.

1 -At the pier, we were directed to the wrong line to begin check-in (not a good omen). There were 6 stations, where each NCL person had a paper printout of 2,000 people to flip through to find our names (oh,boy).

One of the destinations on my bucket list was Iceland. The package offered, including airfare was enticing. Even though NCL supposedly arranged the tickets in June 2022, I couldn't get definite details until the cruise was paid in full. We chose this cruise for the itinerary. The ship is beautiful but there isn’t a good flow on the ship. We are long time cruisers of NCL (sapphire level). I would have to rate this as the worse cruise with NCL. Dining in main restaurants as well as specialty dining did not meet our expectations.
