Poor start and poor finish tempered a otherwise good cruise

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

Hours in line in the hot sun waiting to get on the ship without any communication from NCL was an unacceptable condition. Total confusion and chaos with 2300 people attempting to disembark based upon meanless time slots. Being directed to lines that go nowhere. We went home with a bad taste in our mouth. The on and off process is difficult but this cruise had no communication and control of the ...

Embarkation and debarkation in Tampa is a nightmare

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

I chose Norwegian because I have had nothing but great experiences on previous NCL cruises. This time, embarkation and debarkation were nightmares. It was like this was the first time they were doing this. For this reason alone I am reconsidering cruising out of Tampa on NCL again. The ship was clean, our cabin steward was pretty good, the food was not bad but not a great variety as in ...

This was a much anticipated cruise by my husband and myself. I had always wanted to go to the Panama Canal and experience going through the locks. While that was a great experience the overall cruise was a disappointment. While we did have a few good times on the ship(Thank You Kathleen & Brian, Bruce & Kelly) the food and service were poor at best. The MDR was slow and I consistently had to ask ...

Boat & Crew perfection - ports deception

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

I've been on 10 cruises and loved every one of them, mainly because of the ports and all you can see and learn in 2 weeks, give or take. The Pearl is a gorgeous ship. We stayed in the Haven which should be called the Heaven. Our steward, concierge, butler - everyone we came in contact with, were delightful people. The Haven itself was luxurious and comfortable and we felt like we had the ship to ...

My wife and I were on this cruise. We are both 71, this was our thirteenth cruise, fourth Norwegian. Four Carnival and five Disney. We typically cruise from Port Canaveral when cruising from Florida. Otherwise we have sailed from Honolulu, Seattle and Seaward. Never had significant problems at any port except Tampa.Stood in line with my bad feet over two hours to embark (Coast Guard blah blah ...

Fell short of our expectation we've come to expect from NCL!

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

This was our 10th cruise with NCL. Because of life we had a four year hiatus from cruising and was excited to get back to it. Embarkation went very smooth as Platinum cruiser with NCL. Very efficient and pleasurable. Disembarkation was less than pleasurable. We arrived late to the port, but priority disembarkation was non existent. I waited in a line that wrapped around the ship that I was ...

Disappointing

For a ship refurbished in 2016, the cruise line needs to take a better look at this ship. We noticed rotted wood around the floor drain in the pool area and the cover wasn’t even on it. Several public female restroom stalls were out of order for the entire cruise, and there was duct tape holding the flush button to the wall on a few other. On that note, the plumbing in different parts of the ...

Good entertainment, not so great service or food. Going to try a different line

This was our third cruise and first time on Norweigan. We have sailed twice on Carnival and will probably go back. We sailed with a 14 year old and 2+ year old along with another family. Ship: While the refurb brought most of the areas up to date, you can tell this ship is aging a bit. The layout is dated when compared to the newer ships but that is to be expected. The kiddie pool area ...

Great By Day, Not So By Night

Embarkation and disembarkation was a nightmare but I believe that's Tampa's issue and didn't let it jade my view of the cruise itself. We loved the pool area by day. Not so loud, noisy or crude as Carnival and we spend many days there with other regulars. The pool is a good size with 4 hot tubs. Lots of waiters and access to food. Dinner options are plentiful but I think NCL is missing ...

Cruise was nice - Horrific boarding-registration & disembarkation

We chose this cruise as it went to the western Caribean- Costa Maya, Roatan & Cozumel. The food was excellent.. the service was very good....the cabin cleaned and straightened twice a day. The entertainment was good with dancer/singers, comedian, Cirque-like show and a magician. Its a relatively small ship so its much better to manouevre and less people on board. The ports were nice. ...
