We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the size of the ship. My husband has trouble walking and I didn't want a Mega Size ship where it would be a long walk to all the venues.
I requested a cabin in the middle of the ship, and instead we had the very first cabin in the bow. I paid extra for "run of the ship" hoping for an upgrade or at least, a cabin in the middle. The dining room, ...
We took this cruise because of the price, the perks, and a chance to cruise with friends from various states. It was our first time on NCL and we were not very impressed. The staff from our room steward to bar tenders to dining room staff was very accommodating and did a superb job. The entertainment was average with just a couple of outstanding entertainers. We have been on other cruise lines ...
First time cruising with Norwegian Sun. They had an outbreak of gastrointestinal sickness on the cruise before ours and it continued on our cruise. Unfortunately I got sick. After being quarantined no one followed up to see how I was or if I needed anything and the room service menu was very limited for my husband who was not sick but also had to be quarantined. Consequently we missed two days ...
We chose this cruise due to the Panama Canal experience. We wished they had cut out the Santa Marta Stop and let us stop in Panama. There is nothing worth seeing in Santa Marta and was a wasted stop. We also stopped in Manta Ecuador and it was a wasted stop too. Most of these ports are not ready for tourists and big ships. Getting off the ship was different since we were in shipping yards. ...
This was a repositioning cruise that offered a trip through the Panama Canal with ports of call in Columbia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. The Sun is an old ship that in April 2018 will undergo a face lift. Its small by today's standards, but this six ship is easy to navigate and had enough amenities to fit an mostly active senior adult crowd.
This was first cruise on NCL, having said with ...
We choose Norwegian as we had cruised with them before and we had a great experience. This time, not so good. We had persuaded out relatives to come along with us, and wish we had not. A great pity as it was a bucket list holiday for us and a retirement present to my husband from me his wife. We took the Premium drinks package which included coffee and juice.
No one mentioned that this was ...
Pleasant Ship but the nickel and diming and poor entertainment took the shine off it.
The Sun is a nicely laid out ship, the only issue really being the strange half floor on the deck 6 and the fact that all the dining is at the rear of the ship.
Our Cabin was at the front on deck 9, as quiet as could be but 1/6 mile from the nearest coffee!
We had the ultimate beverage package and ...
Finally took our bucket-list cruise to traverse the Panama Canal!! Unfortunately, things did not start out well when the computers went down in the Embarkation area, so had to stand in the heat and humidity for more than 90-minutes. As a result, I spent the entire first full day on the ship in bed recovering since I come from a desert climate.
The major positives of the cruise were the ...
My choices were limited to NCL or Princess. Since I have sailed on NCL previously, I chose it for the panama canal. Overall I was disappointed with the service, entertainment, and food
Shore excursions in all ports (except cabo san lucas) included a long bus ride with fair guides. Would not revisit Cartagena or (especially) Nicaragua. Enjoyed Acapulco and Costa Rica.
Not sure why but the ...
We chose this cruise because it left from our home port and did a full transit of the Panama Canal. Both were highlights of the cruise and fantastic. We loved taking a taxi to the port and fortunately had been warned by the CC roll call that the pier information was incorrect. I contacted NCL 3 times the month before sailing asking them to correct the edocs, but it was never done. We expected ...
