We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the size of the ship. My husband has trouble walking and I didn't want a Mega Size ship where it would be a long walk to all the venues.

We chose this cruise due to the Panama Canal experience. We wished they had cut out the Santa Marta Stop and let us stop in Panama. There is nothing worth seeing in Santa Marta and was a wasted stop. This was a repositioning cruise that offered a trip through the Panama Canal with ports of call in Columbia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. The Sun is an old ship that in April 2018 will undergo a face lift. Pleasant Ship but the nickel and diming and poor entertainment took the shine off it.
The Sun is a nicely laid out ship, the only issue really being the strange half floor on the deck 6 and the fact that all the dining is at the rear of the ship.
Our Cabin was at the front on deck 9, as quiet as could be but 1/6 mile from the nearest coffee!

Finally took our bucket-list cruise to traverse the Panama Canal!! Unfortunately, things did not start out well when the computers went down in the Embarkation area, so had to stand in the heat and humidity for more than 90-minutes. Shore excursions in all ports (except cabo san lucas) included a long bus ride with fair guides. Would not revisit Cartagena or (especially) Nicaragua. Enjoyed Acapulco and Costa Rica.
