We choose this cruise with Norwegian because we had wanted for some time to see Thailand , India and Dubai.
5 of the days we had arranged private tours for just the 4 of us ( 2 adult couples)and we are glad we did. Other excursions we did trough Norwegian. Phuket in Thailand, it was fine the first part , but then they took the whole bus a 40 minute ride out of the way to some jewelry ...
What a wonderful itinerary, and bolstered by our last NCL experience on Epic we booked the Star for the Singapore to Dubai leg. Many of our fellow cruisers had been on the previous legs dogged by the Azipod failures and some were staying on after we departed. As usual a highlight of the cruise was the fellow cruisers, a very international bunch this time.
We enjoyed the freestyle ambience and ...
We chose it purely for Itinerary not for the Norwegian Line itself. We have cruise 3 times with Norwegian and each time very disappointed .This for us was a very costly Cruise on a low budget Ship would not advice anyone to book other than great Itinerary.
Norwegian need to look at no water policy and not allowing the 2 bottles of wine that all other Cruise Lines allow. They really nickel and ...
Ports of call were interesting. However I felt there was not much information provided on the ports of call. There should be an information booth set up for every port of call. Info on taxis, car rentals, port tours (other than ship tours) should be readily available. Front desk staff did their best to answer questions but they were really not knowledgeable of the ports of call. ...
Reason for choosing this cruise:The cruise was March 9(Singapore)-March 27(Dubai). We choose this cruise because of the itinerary which was port intensive with only 5 sea days. This is a part of the world that we had not traveled and this itinerary seemed an ideal way to sample a number of countries without a long term time and financial commitment. In this respect the cruise totally lived up to ...
A fantastic itinerary and a good deal via Imagine Cruising was why we chose NCL.
After an excellent flight with Emirates and a pleasant stay in a Singapore hotel we went to the port to join the ship. Embarkation was a shambles as there were not enough check in staff on duty. It seemed that Suite passengers jumped the queue, fair enough, and regular customers did so only after reaching the end ...
We have been on many NCL cruises and when we saw this one that included Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand it really seemed perfect for us. I really wanted to see the wildlife of NZ.
As most of you know this cruise did not reach any port other than Melbourne.
I am disappointed that the ship broke down and had to be towed back.
There is and was a lot of anger by the passengers but that ...
The Star has a lot to like: the hotel staff including the cruise director, restaurant and passenger service are outstanding and the entertainment is excellent. Unfortunately, despite a great crew the ship and company get three stars from me because it shows signs of being poorly maintained and the company (the crew does better) is extremely poor about communicating with passengers, making ...
We picked the cruise on the Norwegian Star from Hong Kong to Singapore on the 22nd December because it included both Christmas and New Year. We arrived in Hong Kong a few days prior to this and then a day before embarking found out the ship had mechanical problems and the itineray had been changed cutting out 4 ports. These I may add where the ones We wanted to visit..We had the option to cancel ...
After several cruises on Celebrity we decided to try NCL for my wifes birthday. We had just sailed a very similar itinerary on X Millenium for Xmas and NYE.
Our concerns started several weeks before the cruise when we read about the azipod/propulsion issues. The cruises before ours were also affected and those passengers received compensation of 150% and then 100% (in various formats) while ...
