We took a 16-day cruise from Buenos Aires with the Norwegian Sun in February 2024.
We chose it based on the itinerary and the company's good references. The itinerary was good.

We booked this cruise solely because of Rio. I knew that it was an older ship, but really didn't realize the big difference compared to newer ships. There was little to do. One week cruise from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janiero. The worst thing that happened on this cruise is as soon as we entered Brazilian waters, NCL added a 25% tax on every beverage in our so-called free beverage package. I took cruises back to back from Buenos Aires to Rio and from Rio to Barcelona on the NCL Star. I am Sapphire and have taken 17 cruises already with NCL. These cruises were definitively the worst I have taken with NVL so far. Why?
1 Cabin cleaning was restricted to once a day, but the tips were increased to 20 USD per day.
