Singles cruise and my 74th cruise overall. Not thinking I just thought a NYE cruise with some football on the ships tv's would be fun. Many on board very unhappy to have only two sports to watch the whole week. Cricket and Soccer. Paid extra for internet to only be very disappointed in the coverage and signal. No more NCL for this frequent cruiser. I will be canceling my cruise on the Bliss in October for Halloween.Have booked Celebrity. I was in Haven owners suite so my room was nice and service was excellent. I noticed even though being told reservations not available many of the themed restaurants had many empty tables at all hours. On chilly days of which there where three I think some of the interior bars should have been opened. Needed some aspirin after giving the ones I had to a friend and guess what....the ship had not had aspirin on board for retail purchase for two weeks. This was straight from the young lady working in the shops on board. They markup everything so tell be how hard it would be for a shore bound employee to go to a Walgreens and bring some to the ship? Wanted to sail on Norwegian because of easy access in L.A. Ca, no need to fly into port. Wish I would have read the reviews before booking. The plus side of this Ship is, it's very clean, all restrooms, dining areas, and other places (Spa, pool etc) were always kept clean. My Balcony Room was very clean and the Stateroom Steward did an excellent job. The Specialty Dining Restaurants were good, nothing spectacular, (Le Bistro, Cagney's and Teppanyaki)servings at Teppanyaki and Le Bistro were small. They had a craft class for 3 of the 7 days at sea. The craft class was nice, each a different project. The entertainment for the nightly evenings was good. This Ship is mainly kid/family oriented, not for single older adults. On the negative side, I paid for 3 days at the spa for 1 hour massage each day, thinking that I could use the spa and sauna before and after the massage. Nope!, Usually when I sail on other cruise lines, the use of the spa is included when booked for services at the spa. This ship charges an additional fee ($68) each day for use of spa and sauna. Also, I paid for bottled water on board as they would not allow guest to bring in their own bottled water. On embarkation everything went smooth, but on return, disembarkation was disorganized. They did not call the color of tags in the order it was listed. I will never sail this cruise line again. Read Less

This ship and crew were TOTALLY unprepared to cope with the effects of heavy seas and 4500 guests with nothing to do. No additional inside activities, no additional food services etc...crew in general were not very friendly. Cabin staff HORRIBLE and did little to keep my cabin fresh. If you are a solo traveller, do NOT think about the STUDIO cabins - small, dark, unwelcoming, claustrophobic.....and the 'lounge' they refer to is nothing but a small room in which selfserve snacks are left all day. Simply second rate - disembarkation was a NIGHTMARE of disorganization and chaos - closing staircases while people were on then, having elevators bypass disembarkation floor without telling anyone...just poor communication all around. Crew's english skills also seemed spotty at best. And the hallways where I was were CONSTANTLY cluttered with cleaning carts but no one was actually cleaning anything. I am a confirmed Disney cruiser and will stay that way - goodbye NCL. Read Less

Chose this cruise based on availability of Studio Cabins. Cabin was all I needed and expected. NCL pickup at airport was sub standard as the NCL rep sat hiding near back wall with sign face down on ground talking to what appeared to be friends of hers. Luckily the Carnival rep helped me out. NCL support outside at Port Canaveral terminal was terrible for embarkation as well especially for first timers. Passengers were dropped off outside terminal and left to try and figure out what to do and organize themselves with no NCL reps to support at all. Once inside the terminal NCL did a better job of organizing but it was still hours over and above the two hours outside the terminal. Once inside the ship things were well organized. Meals in restaurants were good with great service. Entertainment was hit and miss. Burn the floor, the instrumental group in the Manhatten lounge, and Paulo the solo guitarist/vocalist being top shelf in my opinion. Cruise next was a joke. Everywhere you go you are bombarded by cruise next promotions but to buy it you have to wait hours in line while the reps spend over 45 minutes explaining the program to others ahead of you. All I wanted to do was buy it but never made it to the front of the line so left the cruise without buying even tho I planned to buy even before boarding. Asked guest services, excursions desk for help but they simply send you back to cruise next desk where, if you complain, the over 6 foot tall german woman says, "ya, I vill be here till 9:30, come back lata". Asked for the cruise next manager as well who is never available either. As for deck chairs, NCL fails here as well. On sea days, by 8am all chairs are covered by towels by people reserving them for the afternoon. No deck chairs to sit on even tho most were unoccupied by anything but towels and NCL refuses to enforce the 1 hour policy. Spent hours in guest services line asking for the policy to be enforced to no avail. Deck crew told me they wont remove towels as it upsets those passengers. Only real reason for me to consider NCL again was the better pricing for solo travel but not sure it will be enough next time. Read Less

We chose it because our neighbours were going on it and they asked us to come along,it was a very large ship with lots to do and it had a Casino. lol. Plus lots of places to eat and entertainment. We had wifi on board but it was slow, we had the drink package which was great. There was so many restaurants plus a buffet. there was cool games like deal or no deal plus a Harry Potter trivia it was very interesting. They had Bingo almost every day. The Ports were made easy to get there and back with Trolly cars from the boat to the Port. The entertainment was excellent when we found time to go. There was waterslides but I am a bit disabled from a stroke so I didn't get to try them but would have. Lots to do and great food. The rooms were small but efficient and kept clean daily. We were right above the designated smoking area, not good for me as for my allergies. Read Less

Just came back from a 7 day Hawaiian cruise with the Pride of America, here are my comments.... - Embarkation, I tried to check in around 12:30; yet, the staff insisted on carrying my luggage to my room while I refused. They insisted and I let them at the end. But as I walked up to my cabin, it wasn't ready yet. The staff could have mentioned it as the reason, perhaps? - Dinning room - I ordered 2 or 3 main entrees and asked for them to be appetizer size so that I can sample; but that didn't work. The food still come in a big portion. Other ships from other lines I was on were able to do that. Service sometimes are slow as it took me 1 1/2 hour to finish a dinner one time. Not that I was in a hurry, but I sat for a bit long. While you think this might have something to do with the number of entrees and appetizers I might have ordered, I can only say that same dinning room, sometimes it was fast and efficient while other times were at snail pace. Also, some waiters seemed indifferent about their clients. I am no king, just comparing to others in the same dinning room on the same ship, not even other cruise ships from other lines I was on before. - Aloha Cafe - saw food on the floor being kicked around a number of times for around 15 or so minutes before someone swept it off the floor. - Food in general - sometimes a bit salty. Had a clamless clam chowder. Wait, how come there was clam on the 1st night when I had the clam chowder but not on the 4th night? There were also a bug jumping out from my salad too. It escaped to no where real fast. - Room - no water in the middle of the night? And when there was water, it was luke warm? At times, the flush didn't function in the room. - Safety drill - I was out on an excursion after dropping off my bag on the ship. The safety drill took place when I wasn't there. Fine. Was wondering how come no one made an effort to ensure that I know what to do in the case of an emergency. While the above seemed negative, the overall experience in other areas weren't that bad at all. The above examples all happened only once, except for the water and flushing ones. It's just missing a bit here and there in a few corners. Average, not exceptional, but not disappointing either. For this itinerary, it's still worth using this product, in my opinion. Read Less

As a new single (widowed), I was very happy to book this NCL cruise, after finding out about the studio (no single supplement) concept that NCL has pioneered. Lucky for me, due to the hurricanes in the area, a lot of folks had canceled their reservations since the cruise had shifted from an Eastern Caribbean to a Western itinerary. That allowed me to secure a balcony cabin for just a little more that the studio. The ship (first time on Epic), seemed to be in very good shape. And the staff did an excellent job of taking care of the passengers. I've been on a number of more expensive cruises, and was impressed with everyone on the NCL Epic staff with how they performed their duties. They were right up there with the cruise lines that charge 2 to 3 times as much. Not to say that the upscale lines are lacking in any area. It's just that the crew of the NCL Epic were just as good. I signed up for the Cruise Next program, so needless to say, I'll be back. Thank you. Read Less

I am a solo traveler. I do not like paying double for my room. Epic offered many solo cabins at "solo" rates. I live close to Port Canaveral so I like to sail from this port. I found the staff very pleasant and friendly. My cabin was just right for just me. My cabin attendant was very helpful and kept my room in tip-top shape. The entertainment was not the quality of other larger ships but it was creative and kept my attention. I very much enjoyed the shows. The activities involving the staff were usually very funny with high energy. I did not go on any shore excursions. However, I did get off at Stirrup Cay. Was disappointed that I could not find an empty chair in the shade (and only found 2 in the sun). Also did not like that they were so close together (had to sit on the end and scooch up to the back). So I just sat at a picnic table in the shade, took a dip in the water (great beach), ate lunch and went back to the ship. The tenders were big, well maintained and quick to get us back and forth. While onboard, I booked the same cruise for next year. Read Less

From the moment I stepped aboard this amazing ship, I knew I was in for an adventurous trip. Traveling alone I found my cabin with ease and enjoyed the company of other solo travelers. The ultimate beverage package is the best perk going, along with the speciality dining. Entertainment was fabulous and so we're the water slides. Staff was exceptional and catered to my every wish. I used the solo lounge and enjoyed meeting other solo travelers for drinks and meals. There were sign up activities that were great fun. Don't miss the white hot dance party, it was a blast! The bathroom setup is odd but you get used to it. I really can't say anything bad about my adventure on Epic, it was amazing and I can not wait to sail her again. The ship is huge but once you gain your sea legs everything becomes second nature. I loved Epic and know that others will too Read Less

Need to get away; get a good break; a change of vacation; Normally would travel by plane/or bus; Package deals. The cruise was very nice; relaxing; you meet nice people from all different ethnic groups; The food service was excellent; everything to sum it all; everything was wonderful. I just wish we had got a chance to go to Jamaica; this would give me a chance to learn about my people/and culture. And hopefully in 2018 to go back to see Jamaica and other islands; of the Caribbean. And hopefully in 2018 to do a European cruise as well. This is my first cruise; so is learning more about cruising. It may take some time to get use to the things they have to offer. This cruise line caters to the travelers needs; and cruise staff was very friendly; have noticed they was for everybody of the ship. So nice ok Read Less
